Kerfuffle over a key!? - Page 2 Empty Re: Kerfuffle over a key!?

Vulpix bared his teeth at the phoenix as he took the hit for the other CS wizard. He fueled more power into his claws which were still embedded in Simon's face, but found that the man could heal faster than he could burn him. He swiped his claws downwards to do as much damage as he could while retreating his hand and leaping back away from Simon, back closer to Nakiya.

Nakiya on the other hand cursed as skye summoned another spirit. She was getting exhausted with this constant summoning, and didn't know how much she had left in her. She edfinitely couldn't use her Ten No Toguchi... the blade would only draw out too much power and stop her from summoning any more spirits on her currently limited power. She had to do something though as the twin spirits approached her. She reached to her belt and withdrew what looked like the hilt to a Katana and used it to attempt striking at Gemini to keep them away from her long enough to put Vulpix between them. She was on the defensive and she hated it... she needed Wrath, and she needed her now.

    "Vulpix! go back!"
She called out to the fox before suddenly breaking into a run away from Gemini, and away from the wizard saint, picking up the last dropped key on the way. Vulpix didn't protest as his form vanashed in a small display of flames. Nakiya gripped her black key tightly, and took a deep breath before calling on this next spirit...

"I call upon thee from the darkness of the Celestial World. Wrath!"
She said, panting lightly as she tried to catch her breath. As soon as she was done her words, darkness began to settle on the town, much thicker than the shadows used to summon the hunting dogs, or pegasus... this darkness seemed to dim the sun itself, extending every shadow hanging from the buildings, from the food stands, even from the garbage cans. Crazed looking eyes and teeth appeared in the shadows as a short silver haired girl emerged from one of the eyes. From her back, wings of shadows emerged and solidified as the girl took a step closer to simon and Skye. This spirit didn't say a word, instead, you could only hear light humming come from her as she waited for one of the enemies to make their next move...

Shivers crawled up Sin's spine as he watched the world dim at the summoning of the dark spirit. He had come to Rose Garden for the usual things, cheating cheaters, conning gamblers, and murdering anyone who walked into a dark alley. But on this most routine trip an incredibly malignant power had manifested itself for the world to see. Pulling a dagger from it's owner's throat Sin smiled as he admired the darkness. "I wonder if this is how normal people see me." But he knew while the intent was horrible the power that stood before it was far superior. A being of great power and motivation was looking to blot out what could potentially be a scourge on all humanity some day. Sin wasn't going to sit idly by and let such destructive potential get wasted. So with that the living abomination made his move. As ever he was dressed in an all white suit making him seem much at home in the big city. He attracted little attention as he ran towards his destination.

Before long he was in position, his position being behind a large apartment building. At the moment that building was the only thing standing between him and the massive magical presence known as Simon the Phoenix. Everything in order Sin suddenly shrunk into the form of a child and with a but a will his shadow launched a score of blade like tendrils into the apartment complex. With little effort from Sin the building began to crumble and fell towards Sin. On impact naturally it would kill everyone inside and everyone unfortunate enough to standing under it. A real hero wouldn't be able to resist.

A real hero wouldn't be able to resist. Truer words were never said. Despite very much wanting to put an end to the dark celestial spirit mage seeing a falling building Simon's instincts kicked in. He jumped into the air and wings of flame materialized around his arms he yelled back at Skye "Don't let them get away! I will be right back!" With that he speed under the falling building to try and save the poor innocent people in the building that just so happened to collapse at a vital moment. He pressed his back agaisnt the building and began rapidly beating his wings downward to slow the decent as much as possible. To Simon's surprise he was able to keep the building aloft and was preparing to bring it down when he noticed a child still standing in the shadow of the building when everyone else had fled. Then from the boy's shadow a tendril of darkness shot out and wrapped around the boy seemingly immobilizing him. A disemobided seeming voiced spoke calmly with a voice that sounded like 100 speaking at once "I am Pride. Pride the Arrogant. I've taken this boy and that building as my hostage. If you so much as move an inch closer to the ground before I say so I will kill this child and then everyone in a mile radius. Stay right there and everyone leaves alive." Simon grimaced, it was a trap. He didn't understand how or why it was set but a trap was what it was. For the life of him he couldn't see who was controlling the shadows and there didn't seem to be a way to get the boy out of the shadow and save the building fast as a blink. He the almighty Wizard Saint was put in a corner.

Little did he know his foe was the very boy being held "hostage."

OOC: Sin is my alt, just using him to rp my OP butt away from the battle so that Nakiya has at least a chance.

The situation had suddenly changed, a building crumbling to his right caused Simon to abandon Skye, leaving him to one versus one her again. It didn't seem like that huge of a problem, that was until she closed the gate to the fox and summoned a new spirit. The battlefield had suddenly grown grim, setting a bad feeling in the pit of Skye's stomach. "Gemini, I close your gate!" He yelled, the two returning back to the spirit one poofing in a glittering yellow light. He was taken by surprise as the small, seemingly dark but small figure appear in the shadows, humming to themselves. This was a spirit she hadn't summoned yet, and Skye didn't know how many more she had. He knew this would have been over by now if the building hadn't chosen such a vital moment to collapse, but he had to put trust in his spirits to help him defeat such a corrupt source of darkness.

Skye assumed such darkness could be cleansed, as all darkness could be. "Columba, I beckon you to my side, lend me your strength to destroy the darkness!" He yelled, a bell chime accompanied by a larger spark of glittering yellow, as Columba arrived out of her gate, however not as she usually would. She was high in the air already, 30 swords of divine holy light surrounded her in a circle. "You," She snapped towards the celestial wizard that opposed her. "You will not exit this battle without a scar to remember us by. You are corrupt and your spirits must be cleansed." She knew the other spirits she held, such as pegasus were once filled with joy and light, but this new spirit, the 'Wrath' Columba hadn't the slightest clue as to who he was. "Let this judgement be your last!" She send, as the swords all pointed themselves and fired off towards the corrupt spirit.

Nakiya's eyes darted to the collapsing building, instantly taking a step back away from the fight at hand. She was exhausted, her magical energy just barely enough to keep Wrath summoned. She had been hoping to use Wrath's shadows to escape, but now faced with this stupid light spirit again, Wrath would need to concentrate her efforts on the enemy.

"I've had enough of this! Wrath! Finish them!"
She yelled out at the spirit, turning her back on Wrath before running in the opposite direction. This was her first fight outside of the research institute, and frankly, she was royally pissed off. Not only did she have to come face to face with so many light keys, she had to come face to face with two Celestial Spirit Wizards much stronger than her! She grit her teeth as she balled her hands into fists as she ran. Had she not endured enough for her strength? Wasn't she ready to be the herald for the dark spirits? Judging by how she was running away from a fight, no, she wasn't.

Wrath never looked up as Columba attacked her, instead, the wings of shadow that had come up behind her shifted and quickly wrapped the form of the small girl in a protective shield, the swords stabbing into the shadowy bubble but never quite making it to their target. Wrath finally looked up through the parts in her hair to have a look at Columba, however, there were no eyes there to see the Celestial Spirit with.

    "So bright..."
Wrath stated before her small frame sank back into the shadows. From the shadows WRath moved, darting from one shadow to another as she darted towards Skye. Only whenever she was within Skye's shadow did she pop out of her hiding place, grabbing hold of Sky's shadow to stop him from moving.

    "So much light... destroy them."
The spirit approached him, reaching to take one, if not all of his Celestial keys from him and back into the shadows.
