Hey guys so one thing I'd like to bring to your attention, is the ridiculous price of username changes. Why are the a whopping 100k jewels? after all, they don't give you any perks, its just the name people go by on the site an nothing more. I really think that the price is a bit
overboard. I believe it should either maybe be cut in half, made free(with some conditions of course), or just not let people change their username period. I think it's really ridiculous to charge people 100k jewels just so they can go by a different name on the site.
Other Information:
Here would be the proposed conditions if username changes were made free.

first username change- user must be active on the site for at least a month and have 200 or more posts

second username change- user must be active on the site for at least 3 or 4 months and have 500 or more posts.

third username change- user must be active on the site for at least 6 months and have 800 or more posts

and etc. The admins and/or mods can decide the limit on how many name changes a single user is allowed on the site per account they have.

I truly believe this would make they people on the site who want their username changed and don't want to spend so much jewel or don't have the money to spend to change it much happier. Also, it would give people who want a username change more motivation than they may already have to post even more, in turn making the site more active than it already is.

Also, I'd like to add that for those who want their usernames changed would have to pm an admin and show proof of them being active and the number of posts. I know it would be a lot of work but I truly think it would be well worth it, if it would make the members more happy.

Feel free to shoot this down, I'll still believe this is a good idea no matter what anyone might say about it.

I believe the undername thing is a great idea... however will be abused.

The Username is what people recognize you as. If EVERYONE started to change their user then it would be trouble to know who is who anymore.

I mean, the one exception to this is the admins who sometimes play with their username and change it every once in a while.

But that's just me.

The reason for the price is so that members don't try to constantly change their names every 5 minutes (which I've seen happen on other sites and it's infuriating trying to keep up). I do agree on the idea of possibly having free name changes after certain things have been achieved by that member.

I think most members are happy with the names they choose, especially if they change it the once. If they need another change then it's down to them to get the jewels and/or get sufficient posts to do it.

Basically I think some parts of this idea could definitely be considered but certainly not all of it.

I never really understood why it costs anything to change your display name. It's a free thing on every forum I've seen that's not this one. If they do want to charge for it, the people who make their display name before their character name, thinking they can change it later, are kind of screwed over. At the very least it should be free to change your display name to your character name. I'm pretty sure some mods will let you do that for free already, but might as well make it an official thing.

I like Leiry's idea, but changing your name to stupid things like "DoctorProfessorPatrick" should be expensive

Yeah. I understand the reason why it costs as much as it does so that it discourages people from changing their usernames, yet I do believe there needs to be a change so that people who want to have only a minor change done on there usernames doesn't have to spend a fortune to do it. So I will add my support to this.

If you want to change your username to your character name, we will change it once for free. That is usually the case we always stand by.

However changing your name to something else completely after that will cost. I find it fair that if you want to change your username to your character name, then its fine, but if you want to change your username to something random like Kanji or Catsumi-sama, then you should pay 100k for it. Simply put, if you want it then you better be willing to fork over the jewels for it. And yes admins do mess around with names from time to time, but often they change it back to their regular names often.

If you didn't get it then ill make it short and sweeter.

Username change to character name: Free.
Username change to something random: Fork over the 100k.

We should make that an official thing though. However the rest of this idea is just simply not something I think should be done. If you want to really have a fun username, you'd fork over the 100k or work towards getting 100k for the username change.
