Magic
Primary Magic: Dark Souls
Secondary Magic: None
Caster or Holder: Lost/Holder
Description: Dark Souls, also known as Dark Soul Sorcery, is a magic involving capturing corrupt souls and sealing them inside of an object. Normally one would do this to seal away evil spirits so they wouldn't cause any trouble, but in Mary's case, she sealed her own soul into five masks. As a result, the masks are bound to Mary's physical body, and can be seen floating around and following her wherever she goes. Mary is never seen without the masks, as they are important for her to live. The only real way to kill Mary is to destroy all of her masks, and then kill her. When one of her masks is destroyed, the part of her soul that was sealed within the mask will return to her body unharmed. Once all of her soul has returned to her body, destroying her body will then release her soul, and in turn, kill her permanently. When Mary dies without having ALL of her masks destroyed, the masks that were destroyed will reform and her soul will return to them. After that, they will seek a new host, usually in the form of someone who has just died, much like Mary. Her masks will then take the lifeless corpse and reanimate it, using the new body as the host for Mary's soul and consciousness. This allows for her to take on multiple appearances, at the cost of dying over and over again. When Mary's masks are destroyed, but she is not, the masks will reform within 24 hours unless they were melted/disintegrated/erased from space and time.
The masks, in actual usage, allow Mary to manifest her will in various forms. This can take the form of an arcane barrier, to a fireball spell, to much much more. The possibilities are only limited by Mary herself. The actual limitations to this magic are actually based around her personality. The general themes of her spells are based around her personality and train of thought. When she creates a spell, she usually has a vague idea of her spells in mind, allowing her spells to have many versatile uses instead of a specific use. For instance, she may not have a fireball spell, as it isn't much besides a ball of fire that attacks her opponents. Instead, she may do something like a spell that sets a nonliving target on fire and creates a lot of smoke, so it could be used as a diversion, an attack, or both. One could use the aforementioned fireball spell in a similar way, but the way Mary designs her spells makes them much easier to use in a versatile way.

Strengths:
- Versatile Spells - Allows for her spells to have multiple purposes, making them more than just simple attack spells or defensive ones.
- Hard to Kill - While it's possible to kill Mary, it takes a bit more than just stabbing her through the heart or shooting her in the head.
- Strategy - Due to the versatility of Mary's spells, she can easily strategize in combat and outsmart her opponents.
Weaknesses:
- Immortal... Well, Almost - Despite having problems with actually dying, it's still very possible for Mary to really die. No one needs any special weapons, just enough power to destroy her masks, and then her.
- Lack of Emotion - It's because of her magic that Mary can't express emotion properly. However, as her masks break, her soul returns to her body along with her emotion...
- Break the Masks! - The masks that hold Mary's soul are her weak point. Initially, breaking the masks is a good idea because it will leave her vulnerable to actually die. However, she won't just leave herself THAT vulnerable...
- Relies on the Masks - The more the masks break the less powerful Mary's spells get, although at higher ranks it becomes harder and harder to destroy her masks.
Abilities/Powers:
- Flight - Mary is capable of basic flight, the speed varying depending on her rank. Starting at D-Rank, she can fly at 20 MPH, and every rank higher she can then move another 20 MPH faster.
- The Masks Have Eyes - Whenever one of Mary's masks sees someone, she becomes aware of that person's magic energy. If the person is using a spell to hide their magic energy, she can still sense them so long as she is the same rank as said spell.
- Fearsome Power - Mary can project her magical aura outwards in all directions around her. The range is 20 meters per rank. Once her aura is projected outwards, she can force people to feel fear or her malice for up to 5 posts. This is often used for intimidation, and while using this ability, Mary adopts a completely blank and lifeless expression usually while forcing her aura upon everyone around her. Those that are the same rank as her will feel mildly afraid, while those one rank higher than her will feel only mildly unnerved. Those that are a rank lower than her or multiple ranks lower than her will feel absolutely afraid, as if she was fear itself staring them right in the eyes.
- Masks:
Name: The Masks of Dark Souls
Rank: D
Type: Item, Mask
Description: Mary has five masks that float around her at all times, each holding an even portion of her soul withing. She has a noh mask, a noh fox mask, a tengu mask, a hannya mask, and a fifth unidentified one that doesn't float at all, staying chained to her side instead. These masks take 2 damage of whatever rank Mary is before breaking and releasing her soul back into her body.

- D-Rank Spells:
Name: Pursuers
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Description: Mary raises her hand and points at her target. All of her masks point at the target as well and fire a wisp of black energy from their mouths. The wisps travel at 20 MPH and do 1 D-Rank damage each, as well as home, but do not necessarily have to target people. As an added plus, the spells also have some sort of homing property, but are easily dispelled by shields or weapon strikes. The Pursuers are dispelled with a simple swipe of a weapon, and only have a range of 30 meters. Last for one post.
Strengths:- Projectiles home
- Mary can fire up to 5 of these at once
- Does a lot of damage if all Pursuers hit
Weaknesses:- Are easily dispelled
- Weak against Light because it is of the Dark element
- Get weaker the less masks Mary has left
- 3 post cooldown

Name: Scraps of Life
Rank: D
Type: Offensive, AoE
Description: Mary doesn't even need to move for this, but this spell can only be cast when she is standing on a solid surface. From the solid surface that Mary chooses, assuming she's also touching said surface, the ground will start to crack in several areas before a dozen pillars of dark energy burst up from the ground. The pillars are no bigger than half a foot wide and fifteen foot tall each, and sprout up evenly all around Mary in a 20 foot radius. The spell is cast instantly and the pillars last one post. If Mary's opponent gets caught in the center of the 20 foot radius (around 10 feet from Mary or the epicenter), said target takes 3 D-Rank damage, and if they get caught in the 10-20 foot area (away from the epicenter) they take 2 D-Rank damage.
Strengths:- An AoE spell that surrounds Mary, allowing her to attack things that are anywhere close to her
- Can be used to destroy objects within the near vicinity
- Can be used to force enemies backwards.
Weaknesses:- Limited Range
- Can be foreseen by the ground cracking before the pillars appear
- Is of the Dark element, so it is weak against Light magic
- 4 Post Cooldown
-------------
Name: Twisted Space
Rank: D
Type: Defensive
Description: One of Mary's mask floats up to in front of her and the space in front of said mask distorts in a 10 foot wide barrier in front of her. Takes a single D-Rank spell that hits it and deflects it in a direction that Mary chooses, and afterwards the space goes back to its original state before the spell was cast. The spell protects the area in front of the mask she chooses, and can be cast from anywhere within 10 meters of herself. 4 Post cooldown.
Strengths:- Defensive spell to protect Mary and her masks from harm
- Can be cast anywhere within 10 meters of her, but only protects the area in front of the mask she uses
- Can be used to deflect any spell, enemy or even ally in some cases, back at the source.
Weaknesses:- Does not deflect physical attacks
- People and creatures can pass through the barrier
- Only affects an area in front of the mask, not to the sides or behind
- 4 post cooldown

Name: Resonant Soul
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Description: Mary lifts her hand and points at her target before a mask flies up and points itself at the target as well. A second later, the mask then shoots a spherical burst of darkness at the target. The sphere moves at 25 MPH and does 2 D-Rank damage upon hitting its target. At the same time, it then releases a burst of sound that deafens nearby opponents, making them hear nothing but a ringing sound for two posts. The size of the sphere can vary in size from just an inch wide to the about three feet wide. The sphere can be fired from her mask or her hand, and her mask can fire it anywhere withing 10 meters of her in any direction she desires. The range of the sphere is 50 feet at most before it dissipates.
Strength:- Can deafen opponents
- Another offensive spell for Mary to use
- Can be a distraction in stealth situations
Weakness:- Moves only in a straight line
- Can affect Mary and her allies too
- Deafens only other D-Rank people or creatures, anything higher rank isn't deafened but still hears the noise
- 3 post cooldown
- Projectiles home
