Personality: When you first meet Vivian, it is incredibly hard to understand why people fear her - she's shy, jumps at the smallest noise, and has a slight stutter to her voice. Vivian is a very shy person; she's more likely to run away from somebody trying to talk to her than to actually talk to them. In addition, she constantly seems high-strung and nervous, making it very hard for her to approach or be approached by others. The stutter is a verbal tic of hers; she finds it to be somewhat embarrasing, and thus it makes her even less likely to speak. She's also very squeamish. If you can get past the near-impenetrable shyness, Vivian is a kind, compassionate person who is very organized and proper. She has a knack for identifying a person's needs, and tends to put them ahead of her own. Growing up around her childhood friend Alexei made her aware that not everybody likes this doting, however, so she also knows when she needs to stay out and let the person figure it out themselves. Vivian's true talent is her knowledge of magic; she has extensive knowledge of a wide variety of magic techniques, and her own magic is a custom creation. Overall, she seems like a very poor fit for her reputation as a fearsome fighter.
The real trouble begins when she feels threatened or a person she likes is threatened. When this happens, her dark counterpart, Vi, comes out. Vi is the inevitable result of Vivian's magic, which can result in unwanted personalities. Vi is the polar opposite of Vivian in many ways: she is loud, blunt, and intentionally aggrandizes people for entertainment. Vi doesn't have the stutter that Vivian has, and even at her lowest volume, she has roughly ten more decibels than Vivian. Vi is also a much, much more capable fighter than Vivian; Vivian is more likely to run away from a fight, while Vi will jump in headfirst and cause as much carnage as she can. Vi is much more easily approachable than Vivian, however, but only if you can get past her bloodlust.
Vi and Vivian share knowledge from the same pool; anything Vivian knows, Vi knows, and vice versa. However, they form their own opinions with said knowledge, and their personality traits are polar opposites. Vi automatically appears when Vivian is threatened or abused, and she stays out for either a day or whenever she feels like letting Vivian back out. The dormant personality can see what the other sees, but they cannot control anything the other does.
As far as serving under a commander goes, the two are also polar opposites. Vivian is a wonderful follower, doing what is asked of her exactly and being able to improvise when needed. The only issues she has are actually getting herself into the fight, and getting her the message without her jumping. Vi, on the other hand, is absolutely terrible at following orders; she purposefully ignores most of them, unless the giver of the orders has explicitly proved himself more capable than her. Even then, she follows them very reluctantly, and will take any chance she can get to find an excuse for not doing what she's told.
When acting as commander, it is the opposite of following. Vivian is an absolutely terrible commander: She can't get orders across, has a tendency to get overwhelmed by the battlefield, and isn't at all inspiring to her subordinates. Vi, however, is rather talented at it. She has a mind for strategy, able to grasp the fighting styles and personalities of her subordinates and turn it into a cohesive plan. Not only that, but she is skilled at keeping her cool even in the middle of battle, and she is excellent at in-battle analysis. Finally, Vi is good at rallying her troops through a variety of emotions; she can rile them up, inspire them, or simply threaten them if they don't work harder.
Likes:
Vivian:

• Close friends. Vivian likes close friends, both as something to lean on and because her magic relies on it.
  
• Getting to know people. Despite being very timid and shy, Vivian loves hearing about others: Their backstories, their opinions, anything.
  
• A sense of community. Vivian loves to feel like she's a part of something bigger, and that there are people that she cares about and who care about her.
  

Vi:

• Fighting. Vi loves to get her energy out through a battle, whether it's a 'friendly' sparring match or a life-or-death battle.
  
• Aggravating others. This is Vi's own way of getting to know others. By annoying them, she learns their reactions, their opinions, and their feelings, which also helps to strengthen her magic.
  
• Being allowed to say what she wants. Vi loves to say exactly what she's feeling at any given moment, and likes it even more when she isn't penalized for it.
  

Dislikes:
Vivian:

• Sour food. Vivian hates sour foods, and refuses to eat them regardless of the circumstances.
  
• Meeting new people. Despite enjoying getting closer to others, Vivian is terrified of first encounters, and avoids them whenever possible.
  
• Vi. Despite knowing that she's a necessary evil, Vivian dislikes the idea of having another personality sharing her body with her.
  

Vi:

• Sweet food. Vi despises sweet food, claiming that it "rots her mouth". She avoids it whenever she can.
  
• Crying. Vi sees crying as a form of weakness, condemning others who do so and getting angry with herself when she cries.
  
• Vivian. Vi sees Vivian as weak, and powerless to stop anything that would happen to them; she'll protect Vivian from danger when necessary, but only out of self-preservation.
  

Motivations:
Vivian:

• Strengthening herself. Vivian wants to get stronger, in order to protect herself and others who she bonds with.
  
• Overcoming shyness. Vivian seeks to overcome her shyness and be able to converse with others without stuttering or becoming anxious.
  
• Perfecting her magic. Vivian practices a unique brand of magic that she created herself; she wants to perfect it, so that she can teach it to others and leave behind a legacy.
  

Vi:

• Freedom. Vi views herself as incomplete while she shares a body with Vivian, and wants to become her own being.
  
• Strengthening herself. Vi wants to become powerful in order to crush her enemies, and to try and find a way to achieve her first motivation.
  
• Being remembered. Vi wants to be remembered and leave behind a legacy; she doesn't care what kind of legacy, but she wants to be remembered for generations to come.
  

Fears:
Vivian:

• Meeting new people. As stated above, Vivian is terrified of the first encounter with a stranger; while she is working to overcome it, she still runs from the encounter more often than not.
  
• Letting others down/responsibility. Vivian hates being responsible for performing an action; she always feels like she's going to mess it up and let the people around her down.
  
• Vi escaping. Vivian sees Vi as a chaotic force, and fears what would happen if she eventually gets her own body.
  

Vi:

• Being trapped/Restricted. Vi hates being tied down to anything; this is the driving force behind her dislike of Vivian, since she sees her as a weight dragging her down.
  
• Grief/guilt. Vi is afraid of being responsible for the death of a comrade (not a friend, since she would only use that word in an incredible circumstance). This fear of feeling guilty is part of why she pushes people away.
  
• Showing weakness. Vi desperately wants to prove that she is better than Vivian in every way possible; she does so in part by not showing any weakness, and is terrified of doing so.
  

General Appearance

Hair: Green, a ponytail with bangs in the front; it turns red when Vi emerges.

Skin Tone: Light
Appearance: Vivian wears a special outfit comprised of cloth. The main torso is black, with pink strips forming an X on her stomach; her white and brown sleeves go to her elbows. She wears pink gloves as well, and has two pink squares of cloth in the front and back also. The entire outfit is topped off with a golden trim.

Guild/Council

Guild: Nox Animus; Vi signed up for it. Vivian dislikes the idea of joining a dark guild, but she doesn't want to disappoint the people there, so she went along with it.
Tattoo: Dark green, on her left forearm; it is usually hidden by the sleeve. When Vi emerges, however, it glows red, making it visible even under the clothing.
