Picking up flowers

Adelheid sat for a moment at the edge of the spooky forest.
She had see the job in the board and decided to take it as her first one under the name of saber tooth.
She took a deep breath in order to get ride of any nervousness checking the spells she had previously stored "one gremlin 2 lances... seems ok" she said reassuring herself that she was up for the job.
She was dressing her usual black suit with a pair of black leather shoes and a red necktie to combine.
She stepped into the woods immersing herself in the deeps of the dark greenery of the forest.
As soon as the thick air filled her lugs she felt invigorated... somewhat like visiting a familiar places "well having been raise in the woods has it's perks" she chuckled to herself as she walked into the forest step by step getting into the entrails if the gigantic green beast know as nature.

With each step the air became rarer and thicker. With a distinct humidity characteristic of such dense woods, and as such she let marks in the trees and started to break branches as a way to leave a trace in order to make sure she could trace back her steps. A old trick that an old woman had teach her long ago.
The silence was unusual, in such a dense foliage there should be plenty of life and all life makes sounds it's only natural... but in here it seemed like something had cast a silence spell or something barely any sounds but her own breath and heart beat could be heard, and on top of that she had a bad feeling like something was observing her...and that something didn't had anything good in mind for her. She would need to find that rare flower soon before being attack.

One two three all kinds of flowers and none was quite like they had ask her.
The characteristics with the draw they had provided her where off some where too big and some where just completely different from what she was asked to get.
And on top of all that the silence and the feeling of being followed where two unshakeable companions whose presence was unwelcoming.
Time and time again every single flower she found wasn't the one the clients asked too red too many petals and so on it was stressing to find a needle in a hay pile.
Every single flower was a beautiful sight but a bitter disappointment.
And then a small fear invaded Adelheid "what if she failed? what if she actually went and failed her first mission? Right after getting accept in Saber Tooth she went and failed her first mission after vowing herself to uphold the name of Saber Tooth? completely and utter shame and embarrassment would be waiting for her in her return! oh god she was going to become a laughing stock! no she was going to finish the job or die trying!" and then she saw the motive of the silence and what had been following her.

on one side there was a bunch of goblins...the little creatures weren't friendly and as such they where demonstrating aggression but on the other side a lonely and powerful looking wolf showed.
It's grey hair showed scars of many battles that it had survived... the natures version of medals of honor to show one's bravery... but in here it was the fangs and claws of your opponent and prey the one's that conferred such "honours"
As soon as the goblins saw the powerful figure of the lonely wolf they retreat back to the forest while the wolf was still deadly set on the woman.
It was a showdown to see who would become prey.
in the wolf eyes there wasn't any malice only desire to feed and survive and as such Adelheid didn't had any choice but to fight in order to live and to complete her job.
Adelheid stepped up trying to look as big as she could and starting to chant "Hail to the contract pixie arrows" reading herself as the fire spheres started to appear and 10 of them where shot towards the wolf.

'Block Dice' :

The wolf was surprise by the sudden attack and received full on the 10 hits if the low level spell damaging him somewhat as the fire magic burned him.
Using the distraction Adelheid retreated a little looking at the pained but still ferocious wild beast.
She evaluated her options and decided that the beast wouldn't stop attacking her and that she would be in dire danger besides she couldn't leave the woods without the flower.
For now she would need to step forward and take out the wolf in the most correct and efficient way possible.
First she would see if she could caught it off guard and charge him with a gremlin.
After she had finished taking around 40 feet of distance the chanted "hail to the contract fire gremlin " she said extending her palm as her ring shinned once more and an ethereal fire ball was launch towards the wolf.

'Block Dice' :

The beast tried to cover itself from the fire spell like expected. "Everything acording to plan " she thought.
As the wolf tried to block the gremlin as his body burn for the passive "burn" that the magical arrow pixies had put in its body "the gremlin"  was absorb by its body charging it with elemental fire magic ready to burst in fiery flames from the inside at any second or so...
The beast showed sighs of confusion but seeing his chance it readily charged towards Adelheid that had already readied her next movement. 
Taking out one of the magical spears she had stored forehand she quickly and readily threw the fire spell against the wolf in hopes for it to hit him as he was already charge with a gremlin and if not the burst of flames from the spear to activate the gremlin to seal the fate of the beast.

'Block Dice' :

In a majestic show of bad judgement the hurt beast tried to guard against the spell thrusting that his natural toughness would completely protect him from the flames and the sharpness of the spear.
And of course it would have done so if it wouldn't have been for the little tricky and fiery gremlin inside him.
As soon as the flames touched his charged body the fire energies bursted into powerful flames empowering the spell and overpowering in good measure a good part from the wolf's defenses and natural toughness.
The spear didn't penetrate the beast but the burst of flames managed to damage it enough to slow him down for pixies to come out of cool down.
"hail to the contract pixie arrows " she chanted as she shoot the spell towards the wounded beast once more concentrating it in the zone where the wolf was standing instead of scattering them around.

'Block Dice' :

the majestic and ferocious wild beast reunited enough strength to block the attack but with what had hit him from the magical pixie arrows was enough to continue burning it the fire slowly taking away it's life plus it managed to distract it and slow it down from his chase for Adelheid. 
Meanwhile Adelheid had noticed that the badly burn and hurt but still powerful beast had got closer. So she decided to take her distance not loosing sigh of it at any moment. 
Once out of the clear it would prove difficult to use Ascalon the fire lance or at least aim it properly but at least she could use it more effectively. 
Taking her stance she started to chant "From the fogs of history and legends, hail to the pact spirit lance of the heroes pierce burn through the enemy" as a fiery red lance made of flames started to appear in it. This was Adelheid stand as her other spells where in cool down and she was going to give the wolf veteran of the forest a proper "defeat " instead of torturing him from the distance.

The beast was exhausted and wounded but it still hand strength testimony of its natural high level in the ecosystem it lived it and as soon as it saw that the girl stopped for a moment it seized his chance running at a high speed attacking her twice leaving several wounds in her.

The wolf ran towards her as her eyes widen the beast still had the strength to close up the distance and attack her leaving profound wounds but that didn't stop her instead she ironed herself and her will this was the time and the moment and if she wanted to survive she would need to sacrifice something.
"Activated blood pact use my blood and flesh to complete the pact" as she did the spear of fire completed but it would not be enough she would need to wait for the perfect chance to use it.
And so it soon enough came as the beast pounced in top of her in order to pin her down in the floor and kill her.
It opened his powerful jaws in order to destroy her neck but that was what Adelheid was waiting.
Using that small window of opportunity she speared her Ascalon inside of the maw if the beast penetrating and burning flesh before it bursted into a fiery flame that killed the beast from the inside but managed to reach and hurt the spell caster.


With a smocking and still burning corpse on top if her Adelheid reunited enough strength to take it off and sit down beside it.
To just let it there to root for no reason would be a disrespect to the beast she had just slayed to survive plus it had already been cook so she took out a small knife (completely useless on battle but a handy tool) and skinned a part taking a substantial piece of though meat and started to chew and eat it to get some strength back in oder to continue looking for the flower.

After taking some time to eat and gather some strength and sloppily attend her wounds Adelheid managed to stand up and walk more or less normally the pain of her wounds slowly fading away then started to look for her own trail and start looking for the flower again.
Slowly but surely she compared flower after flower after flower with the picture they had give them for hours scouting and marking each place she had finished looking in in a mental map until she finally found it.
On a clear amongst flowers of all colors and shapes a bunch of the medicinal kind where clustered together like wanting to be protect by numbers. 
She picked just enough to complete her mission as she sat down and just enjoyed the smell of the flowers enjoying their fragrance feeling the pain of her wounds wash away by the curative effects of a good rest and knowing that she had finished and done a good job for the first time before having to head to the town in order to deliver the flowers and complete the mission.
