Hunting Flowers....REALLY!?

Job Requirements: Find the mysterious white flower deep within the Spooky Forest! Minimum of 10 posts. Must defeat at least one batch of monsters. 150 words per post.

Job Location: Spooky Forest

Job Description: The medicinal shop in Magnolia can't seem too pay their workers enough too journey into the Spooky Forest too gather a specific type of flower needed as an ingredient in a powerful medicine. Find it for them! But watch out...something's lurking, stalking, snarling.

Enemies:
Weak: Goblin x3 (Who knows what they're doing, and why they've decided too follow you. But they are not friendly...at all. A few hits should clobber them out for the count though.)

Normal: Wild Pack Wolves x4 (Four wolves have been stalking you...and they've decided you're lunch! Defeat them with at least 2 hits on each one of them! They attack with claws and fangs, each will attack you once each round, roll too block!)

Strong: Lone Wolf (This wolf rolls solo, and that alone should prove how tough he is! He attacks you twice each round on his own. Every so often he'll attempt a pounce attack too pin you too the ground. Roll 3 "Block Die" if he does this. If you roll 2 or more Blocks, you don't get pinned. If you get pinned he bites you for "4 Attack Die", though you can still attempt too block. Take him out with 5 hits!)

Boss: Dire Wolf (This wolf is....huge too be honest. He stands about ten feet, quite big for a wolf, indeed. He'll attempt too run circles around you too confuse you, but stay focused! Every so often he'll dive in for an attempted bite or claw swipe against you. Roll 3 "Attack Die" each time he dives in for an attack! Roll 3 "Block Die" too see if you get away. If you don't block you'll be shredded for C-Ranked damage, be careful! His normal bite attack also deals C-Ranked damage and can truly hurt! Put him down with 10 hits! Good luck!)

Zhu groaned loudly as he walked into the spooky forest. He really didn't want to be here hunting for any stupid flowers. He thought this job was beneath him and his new status, but he really didn't have much of a choice. He took the job and he was going to get it done. He really didn't want Lamia Scale’s reputation to suffer, not after he had poured so much of his life’s blood and energy into it. He had to find some rare flowers that some little shop needed. They needed several different flower specimens, and they were willing to pay a wizard to go get them.

Zhu reached into the pack that the shop had provided for him in order to transport the flowers and bring them back with. He reached past the glass containers and pulled out a piece of parchment paper that held the list of flowers that he needed.

Zhu saw that there were several different flowers five different flowers in fact, and the glass cases that were in his bag were there so he could fill them with the specimens and then the shop wouldn’t have to go out to get some more for some time. He didn’t know why they didn’t have a plant mage on staff in order to keep the plants they needed on staff, but he really wasn’t in any place to question their business decisions as he wasn’t in their business so for now he would just hunt what they wanted him to obtain.

Zhu turned his head and felt a presence from his eye patch. He frowned deeply as he turned and looked to see a pair of eyes watching him. It was clear he wasn’t going to have an easy time of this, and it wasn’t something he was really complaining about, he enjoyed a challenge.

'Monster Dice' :

From the foliage four wolves emerged all of them rather hungry looking and they were all baring their fangs at Zhu clearly these foolish wolves didn’t know who they had just attacked. Zhu sighed and very calmly pressed his hands together “Green Dragon.” As he pulled his hands apart his favorite weapon soon materialized in his hands. He smirked and gripped the shaft of the blade and as he did the weapon became tangible. He laughed softly and twirled it around in his hand “Now then you dogs. Let’s play.”

The first wolf was foolish and lunged at Zhu with its mouth open and fangs to bear. Zhu sighed slightly as he slashed at the creature as it passed him in the air. The wound wasn’t enough to kill the beast that much Zhu knew, but it was still enough to wound the creature. As it landed it fell to the ground whimpering in pain.

The sounds of the injured comrade caused the rest of the wolves to become angry, and they were now all out for not only food, but revenge. They were starting to wise up however, and two of them lunged for Zhu at once. Zhu simply ducked and let them sail into each other causing them to tumble into a mangled mess. Once he stood up the last of them was on the attack.

This wolf was the largest so it was clearly the alpha. As it lunged Zhu sighed and put the blade of his polearm into the stomach of the wolf impaling it. This action caused a great smile to appear on Zhu’s face “You fight with honor, but your life has been claimed this day by me.” As he threw down the wolf he quickly brought his blade down upon its neck severing from the lupine’s head from its body.

The other wolves whipped around and saw what Zhu had done to their Alpha. They all let out a sorrowful howl before they renewed their attack. The wounded one lunged for Zhu’s back, but Zhu side stepped it and let the wolf fly past him, but as he did the blade of Green Dragon tore into its stomach and spilled it’s innards on the ground. Zhu wasn’t finished yet however, as the two remaining wolves attacked once more as a team. Zhu held out Green dragon and began to spin it in front of him as fast as he possibly could.

This shield is what the wolves slammed into. One bit onto the shaft the other bit onto the blade cutting its tongue in the process. Zhu smirked as he looked at the two wolves who were holding onto his pole arm “you two. Very passionate. I admire that, but you will die as well.”

With a mighty swing of his weapon he flung the lupines from it and with a quick movement he stabbed the blade through the throat and stomach of the unfortunate wolf that had bitten into his blade. He then spun it around and pulled it out slicing the wolf from the inside out as he withdrew his gore covered weapon from the lupine before him. With this lupine dispatched he turned to the last remaining one who still stood defiant before this slayer of his kind.

Zhu had to admire this kind of behavior and he leveled his weapon at the creature baring his own teeth in challenge. A growl from deep in his throat caused the wolf to return the sound and charge him. Zhu slashed his blade down trying to slash through the wolf’s head, but the wolf side stepped and lunged sinking its fangs into Zhu’s arm. Zhu smiled wickedly as he looked at the beast “congratulations you are the only one of your kind to wound me…for that…I shall take your teeth with me so you may see battle again!”

With this promise he gripped Green Dragon closer to the blade and stabbed it through the wolf’s neck nearly cutting its head off in the process. He smiled as he watched the light drain from the wolf’s eyes and as it finally turned dark then it let go of Zhu’s bleeding arm and sank to the ground dead. Zhu dismissed his weapon and knelt down next to the creature “You are truly wonderful.  I promise you shall see battle again, and I shall even make your fangs into a weapon that I shall use, and you shall sink your fangs into far more opponents.”

He then began the long and very painful process of removing the wolf’s teeth carefully enough that he only took the tooth nothing more, and did not break the tooth in the process. He looked to the other wolves and nodded his head “To honor the dead I shall take their fangs as well.” And so he removed all of the fangs from the whole pack before he moved on to find his objective.

Zhu walked for what seemed a few hours before he spotted a great flower bush, and on it were flowers with brilliant red petals like crimson blood. Zhu knew these flowers as the ones he was to pick. He reached into the bag and pulled out one of his glass containers along with the flower clippers that the shop had provided for him as well. He was grateful to have these things with him after all.

He walked over to the bush and began to carefully cut the flowers at their stems cutting them small enough to allow for him to put them squarely in the container without worrying about damaging them or anything like that. It took him some time, but he did manage to collect enough of them to fill the glass container. Once he finished it he closed the container and put it in his bag pulling out the list and crossing out the section where it described the flower he just obtained.

There were still a few other flowers he needed to cut and put into their respective containers. He wasn’t going to really worry about it after all. After several more hours of walking he found a small stream and at the beginning of it was a pond. Around the pond were dozens upon dozens of flower species. He found the remaining flowers he needed and he smiled “I see. So go through wolf territory in order to get to the floors. That makes a lot of sense why no one will just come running to their deaths. Even these wolves managed a hit on me.”

He walked to a silver flower that he knew well. It was ironically called Wolf’s Bane, or also known as aconitum. He was perfectly happy to fill one of the containers he had with these, and he was even more glad that it was on his list of plants to get.

The others he didn’t know nearly as well, but he still went through the trouble of collecting all of them in order to make sure his containers were full. Once they were full to bursting he put the containers back into the bag and nodded his head. He looked at all of his containers that were in his bag to make sure they were indeed full. He double checked his list in order to make sure that he had gotten everything.

When he was satisfied that he had everything he nodded his head once with a smile “That’s good. It looks like I can be paid after all. Now I just have to get out of this damned place and reach the employer.” He then remembered the wolf teeth in his pocket and nodded “Then I can go about fulfilling my promise.” With that he turned and left the spooky forest to turn in all he had for the employer who had hired him.
