A sandstorm arose around the merchant's group and they became under attack. The merchant's team was slaughtered; where as he managed to escape. He spent days in the desert, lost, until finally he came across other travelers and hitched a ride to the nearest village. Once in the village, the merchant was rushed to the hospital where a stinger was found embedded into his spine. The stinger was that of a scorpions', and he was given antitoxin. The merchant, now said to be hysterical from being in the sun too long and poison from a scorpion, is trying to get people's attention about the monsters hiding in the sandstorms in the streets of the village. The train into town had left Kaligos sickened hardily able to move. His skin usually had a toughness too it, that simply wasn't there when things around him were in motion, and he hadily looked like he survived the train ride into town. Getting off the train was a hassle as it was difficult for him to move, and he just barely made it off the train in time for the thing to start moving again. Another mission with the Lamia Scale wizard Kara. If Kaligos wasn't careful his guild would start whispering behind his back that he wasn't loyal or something like that.
Kaligos sat on a bench trying his best to recover. They were on a town near the edge of the desert, a town Kaligos knew all too well actually. Years ago when his dragon had left him in the middle of a desert this was the town he had found after wondering for so long. It had taken him over a year to find his way out of the lost desert, and what was more surprising was that from there he had ended up joining Fairy Tail. This place was an in between zone, the place where his entire life had changed, and what was more was that this desert was the one he had grown up in.
Kaligos waited for Kara, sniffing the air lightly, the memories from years back washing over him for a moment. The scared child he was walking back from the desert, not understanding what a town was, or why there were suddenly so many other people in the world, when he had been raised in almost complete isolation with only his dragon for company. The signs with strange unreadable symbols that still dumbfounded him to this day. Kaligos let out a small sigh these weren't really the happiest memories he had of the world. Going back to how he had found out about this mission someone mentioning a job on the board involving massive sandstorms.
The first thought of course then was that it was his father. Sandstorms were a huge trait of the earth dragons, His father had wings so massive that he often started them just by taking off into the air, and then there was their roars. If Kaligos's was like a mini sandstorm then Kalixstraz's roar was 30 times that. Kaligos's bare feet kicked the ground slightly. He told everyone that he had long given up on ever seeing his father again. The two traveled so much that there was no real home that he could check, but this was the desert... the one he had been abandoned in, and there were random deadly sandstorms, it couldn't just be a coincidence right? Maybe just maybe Kaligos had a chance at finding Kalixstraz here. Maybe the sandstorms were his dad's way of making contact?
Then again... maybe it was just a fruitless treasure hunt.
