    Snowflake

    a bond can bloom from
    the first eye contact

How long have I been asleep?

The morning sun that had just risen over the azure sky, spreading beautiful shades of yellow and orange. Lying on the bed among the white sheets was the princess of Wintershield; the only hope left to save the abolished country. Strands of cerulean hair was messily sprawled on the pillow as her blanket gently hugged her body from the cold. The morning breeze blew into the room and the windows were forced ajar from the violence of the gales that blew across the land. The curtains of white and gold billowed in from one end and out the other while its shadow casted just beneath the window. A small groan resounded through the little abode as the young girl would nuzzle herself closer to the blanket. Dark lashes fluttered open and revealed a pair of gorgeous silver eyes that gazed out of the window. ”It’s almost winter.” she would mutter to herself. The word ‘Winter’ reminded her of her old kingdom, how people told her that she resembled the snow and how she loved winter while the others loathed the season. Snowflake had dearly missed her country and was most certain that she was going to bring the kingdom back to its feet, even from scratch which was the sole reason she had fled to Fiore with her master.

The girl outstretched her hand towards the window as if she was reaching for something. Between the small spaces of her fingers, she would stare out into the yellow orb that shone brightly upon her, her thoughts wandering off immediately. A pang of nostalgia hit her; that she had taken up a job with a comrade she met the other day when she purchased a soft blanket for herself. ”Dimaria, was it?” The girl had long forgotten about the mission until now, before she forced her feet out of her bed and begin dressing up herself. Her combat clothes were always the same; a jacket and skirt accented with dark blue together along with wedged boots. Afterwards, she would spend her time braiding her hair over her crown and to complete her look, Snowflake added a black diamond choker around her neck. With a flip of her blue hair over her shoulder, she glanced into the mirror of her reflection and made sure her outfit was perfect, although it was mostly a similar attire every day.

Valkyrie – her Dust Rapier was laid against a wall near her closet and quickly fitted around her waist with a belt before slipping out of her room. The location of her mission was at Divide Island, a place she had never been before. To reach there, they would need either a ship or boat, thus, she began proceeding towards the harbour. Her body was getting stronger, she noticed, and she had been discovering more of her abilities through fencing alone which was why she had been able to take up tough missions like the current one she will be completing. They were supposed to find the treasure – or so she read along the lines that was written on the brittle papers that she had read from the mission board, the mystical item that the pirates have been wanting to attain.

Treasure Hunting For The 'One Piece' | Hika & Dimaria Empty Re: Treasure Hunting For The 'One Piece' | Hika & Dimaria

Post by Monica 25th July 2016, 3:03 am

    ❊ LADY OF WINTERFELL ❊
The heels of her boots clacked on the crisp asphalt as she crossed a small street, walking towards the job request board. A gloved hand rested on the sword that was strapped to her leather belt, dangling as she walked. For a moment she thought she was hallucinating, seeing things that she should not, like snow randomly falling in summer, in a country that was way South. She was missing home, getting homesick, however you called that nonsense. Dimaria was not weak. That was what she liked to think of herself. She was strong, and she could withstand the craving of returning home. She was here to become even stronger than she already was, not wither away from the pressures of staying away from home. Her parents back home believed in her, so did all the other Houses that depended on House Stark. If she was going to return a failure, she might as well kill herself. Even the thought of it disgusted her.

The scent of rusted metal entered her nostrils. The rain must have rusted the request board, it was brown and yellow in most areas. But the papers were completely dry since they were usually taken before the rain could wet them. And this time, Dimaria plucked one of them off the board, holding the paper in both her hands as scarlet optics scanned the information presented. The job’s main objective was for them to find the treasure before the pirates did, which sounded fairly easy. Looking at the location...an island. That meant that she was going to have to travel, most likely by boats. You do not even want to get started on how Dimaria hated travel over sea. She could ride horses, carts, fly above to travel in air, but traveling on a boat that rocked when there were waves...no. So this mission was a complete nope for her, but after her eyes laid on the rewards section, they widened. Double the normal reward? ‘Sign me up!’

So without another thought, Dimaria folded the job paper and placed it in the pocket of her pants, now walking towards the docks of Hargeon Town where she would take a boat and travel to this strangely named island. ‘Divide Island’ was probably one of the funniest names you would ever come across in the book of islands. But it was not her job to worry if islands had funny names or not, so the Stark girl continued on her way, making sure that she was going in the right direction. Soon she had arrived at the docks, and was looking around for anyone who might want to transport her to the island. All men present at the docks were either fishermen or guards. The fishermen were pulling their nets and counting their catch, the smell of it reaching where she stood, making her scrunch up her face as she kept looking, fishing out the job paper and unfolding it in case she might need it.

The Hargeon’s harbor was crowded and rowdy – one could hear the clamor of fish market even at the distance. The sight of the sea; in the same colour as her hair, emerged into her vision and the water would glisten majestically underneath the sunlight. Buildings owned by the citizens of the town clustered around the estuary and the boats as well as ships bobbed on its waters. The young Ice wizard enjoyed the mournful cry of the seagulls, which weaved and dipped both above and below her. The fish market was filled with shouts and yells, as the customers would try to bargain the prices from the store owners. Being at the harbor for the first time, Snowflake was surprised to see the amount of people scuttling about at the area and how lively it was – not to mention, seeing a large body of sea with a huge yellow orb shining above the waters was a beautiful sight as well.  The boats were neatly anchored at the edge of the dock and the crew members would prepare for their departure. Among those people was someone who stood out more than the others due to the person’s lengthy height.

The gales that blew across the undulating lands of Hargeon wafted through her sapphire hair and gently caressed her cheeks. The bangs that neatly framed her features flurried past her cheeks softly as she pushed her legs forward to approach the other blue haired girl. ”Dimaria,” she began and stood beside her. Snowflake was rather small compared to the other girl’s physique and she could see the older sister vibe in her. ”Nice to see you again.” her voice was soft as she would stare out into the distance and the scent of raw fish drifted past her, only to cause her to leave a rather sour face on her features. Snowflake wasn’t a fan of raw meat nor had ever enjoyed the unbearable odor of the food.

They were supposed to meet the captain of the ship before they begin to board, however, not knowing how he looked like, the girl was clueless on how she should begin searching for the man. Blue orbs glided around the area, in an attempt to look for someone who might, perhaps, look similar to that of a captain. In a distance was a tall man with dark hair and thick beard and a hat concealing half of his face. A white cape, he had worn, was draped over his shoulders as it billowed out behind him when the wind blew. His arms were folded across his broad chest as he began approaching towards the two of them. ”Mages? Perfect timing!” Words sputtered out of his mouth that was covered with his thick moustache and beard. ”Get on t’ ship, ye two!” With that, both of them were ushered onto the ship, in hope that he would explain the details of the mission further.

    ❊ LADY OF WINTERFELL ❊
A voice that spoke her name caught her attention while she wondering how on Earth she was going to approach any of these men and ask for transportation. She had no choice. Even though boats were the last form of transport she would choose...well in this case, that was the only available vehicle for her travel to Divide Island, she had to do it, seeing how there were no flying creatures waiting to deliver wizards to and fro landforms that had bodies of water separating them. The voice was a very familiar one, one that belonged to someone she had worked together with on a job once. Dimaria glanced around and then spotted the girl right next to her. She resisted the urge to pet Snowflake, and said, “Oh hello, Snow. Here to take a job are you? I am guessing it is the same one I am about to tackle.” She passed the job paper to the petite girl, have her hopes up as this meant she could hold onto Snowflake while she faced her fate on the boat they were about to ride.

In a few moments, a bearded man of the docks appeared before them, asking if they were mages, and then saying that it was ‘perfect timing’. “Perfect timing for what?” Dimaria asked with a tone of disbelief. How could he have possibly figured that they were mages and here for the exact job that he had in mind. Of course the job paper was some sort of indication, but that did not exactly mean they were mages. They could be some random townspeople who did not know about job requests and such, fooling around. The man did not wait any longer. It seemed he was the most excited out of the three of them, so Dimaria nodded and cautiously got onto his boat. He did help her get on it without falling into the water. Just a look at the sea made her want to puke. She prayed to the Old Gods and the New that she did not vomit in front of Snowflake and this man.

So as you would expect, the man began to explain about the job that was all clearly written on the job. Maybe it was his way of trying to keep the liveliness since sitting in silence the whole way was rather boring. Dimaria interrupted his story to ask, “Excuse me, sir, but do you mind sharing your name?” So the man answered, saying that his name was ‘Holden’. Dimaria nodded with a small smile, marking the name and saying, “Alright, Mr. Holden. Please continue.” But it was not all that easy. She would occasionally look at the sea, and then at her feet, feel like throwing up, and then kind of try to grab Snowflake’s arm, but refraining herself since she did not want to embarrass herself. She had a feeling that she would throw up her breakfast before they got to the island, or maybe even on the island.

    a bond can bloom from

The captain of the ship seemed to be able to decipher their presences since he was able to spot the two of them among eddies of people that were strolling all around her. Although Dimaria seemed to be rather confused, the young girl climbed onto the ship with the assistance of the captain and sat beside Dimaria, along with the rest of the crew. The flag was released from the pole as they would begin to set sail along the seas and towards their destination. The harsh zephyrs of Hargeon forced the ship to sail forward and lifted up the water droplets from the sea and sprinkled over her. Her sapphire hair sailed behind her like a kite, with the momentum of the wind. The girl balanced her body in a reclining position on her two hands and stared up at the sky as she enjoyed the magnificent view above her. Holden – the captain, continued rambling about the job and how he did not want the pirates to even lay a hand on their treasure repeatedly. She doubted he would stop even if she told him that she knew what they were supposed to do and that everything they needed to know was written on the brittle sheet of paper Dimaria had handed over to her earlier.

Silver optics travelled from the azure sky towards her partner who apparently seemed to be struggling with herself. Her visage had grown a lot paler than usual and she appeared to be distracting herself. Perhaps, she was sea sick? Snowflake was used to travelling around with boats and ships, hence, she was rather familiar with the big waves that they would ride along. With a gentle tap on the captain’s shoulder, she asked, Could I get a glass of water, please? The captain guffawed at her request, despite how it was not even a laughing matter at the slightest and ordered his underlings to fetch a cup of water for her. ”Thanks.” she whispered and handed the cup over to Dimaria. ”Drinking water helps you from sea sickness.” the girl stated as she involuntarily glanced seawards.

An Island soon came into her vision as she would immediately perk up upon the sight. ”Almost there! It’s right ahead!” one of the crew members shouted, while squinting through a pair of binoculars. The structure of the Island was something she had never seen of – unique and eccentric. The mountain was split right in the middle and the summits would point up high into the sky. The cause of the split was still unknown and the secrets hidden behind the structure was still being unfolded by the researchers, or so she read. The pace of the ship had decelerated sharply as they drew themselves closer towards the coast. The birds soared around the ship and chirped before the vehicle came to sudden halt, almost forcing her to stumble over her seat. ”Alright! Off you two. We’ll come back again to fetch you up and there better be treasure with you lads!” With that, the two of them were urged off the ship before they departed, leaving the mages stranded on an unfamiliar island.

Post by Monica 28th July 2016, 2:18 am

    ❊ LADY OF WINTERFELL ❊
Dimaria knew, for a fact, she was not going to survive this boat ride. She did not expect to die in such a way, but if the Gods have decided her fate to be like this, she had no right to argue against their will. In fact, if it was not for the Gods in the first place, she would not have existed, which meant that she was in debt to them, so whatever they wanted for her life was most probably for the best. Clutching onto the fabric over her chest, the poor girl grumbled silently, hoping no one could hear or see her suffering. Blue strands of hair stuck to her neck as she began to sweat in nervousness. None of the other people on the boat seemed to be in this situation. In fact, she was the only one acting strange.

So when Snowflake asked for a cup of water, she knew that the girl had noticed her unnatural behavior, causing her to lift her head up, an expression on her face as though she was constipated. She willed for words to form out of her mouth, to say that she was fine and she did not need water, although she was anything but ‘fine’.

Apparently Snowflake had received a glass of water already, and was offering it to Dimaria, informing her that drinking water helped. How was she to believe that the men on the boat had not gotten her a cup of the seawater? The thought of that made her lurch forward as she held a hand to her mouth, and one to her stomach, eyes shut so tightly you would have thought they were sealed. She quickly grabbed the glass, and the moment she opened her mouth to drink it was the moment she lost control. Dashing over to the side of the boat she began to vomit into the sea, her breakfast and everything all coming out in one color. It was so disgusting she felt like puking a second round just from looking at the water in which she threw up in. Immediately afterwards, she poured the water in the glass on her face, opening her mouth to drink any that might fall into it. Panting like an exhausted dog, the heir of House Stark turned to face her job partner who must have been thoroughly disgusted by this entire situation and gave her an apologetic smile.

Really sorry about that,” she told her and then averted her gaze to where the boatmen were pointing at. They had already arrived at the island. Once they came to shore, they dropped Dimaria and Snowflake off, telling them that they would be back to fetch them and that they better have treasure with them. “Oh no, not again. I’ll just wait for someone to come and fetch me by flight. No more of that boat nonsense. Also we’re clearly females! Not lads! Lasses!” she replied, shouting a bit at the end as the boat was already turning to depart.

Despite how Snowflake appeared to be enjoying their ride towards the Divide Island, Dimaria, on the other hand, was apparently feeling the worst out of their journey. While the crew members were busy celebrating their arrival to the shore, Dimaria had spewed out everything she had inside her stomach into the sea. Unable to react, the blue haired girl averted her gaze to the other direction and released a discreet cough so as to pretend she didn’t notice anything. The young duelist released a sharp sigh and closed her eyes momentarily, wishing she had given her the cup of water a second faster before her partner would begin throwing up. The girl noted herself that their return journey shouldn’t even consist of a ship nor a boat, or else it would be a nightmare for the both of them.

    --------------------------------------------

Upon landing on the shore and after being ushered out by the captain, Snowflake faced herself towards the vicinity that laid sprawled before her eyes. The huge mountain that was split in two loomed above her as it casted a shadow behind and further into the sea. Stones, boulders and trees was all she could see from this position. She assumed that none of the people lived on this island, seeing how there was barely anything on the land. "Do you think we should find hints of the treasure?" she began as she approached towards the verdant forest that covered the entire district. The breeze that blew across the Island was gentle and soothing underneath the warm sunlight that she had basked upon. Strands of cobalt fluttered gently behind her and her short bangs that framed her gorgeous visage whisked against her pale skin. A step she made, before her wedged heels were buried into the golden sand that was inconsistently distributed within the island. The girl struggled with her pace as if she was a child who was learning her first baby steps. Her arms flailed about, trying to balance her posture.

The smell of grass and leaves wafted into her nose when she drew herself into the forest. The sunlight seeped through the gaps between the leaves and shone upon her as if it was leading her. The Ice wizard would occasionally turn around, making sure her partner was close behind her. She gripped onto the hilt of her dust rapier and allowed her bright eyes to wander carelessly around the area. She was someone who barely portrayed any emotions, yet nature always seem to succeed in captivating her one way or another. The zephyrs lifted the dry leaves, causing it to snake past her body followed by a loud chirp of sparrows nearby. Distracted, the girl almost forgot her task until she saw a hint of turquoise within the corner of her eyes. She would dash quickly to what she had discovered, with the light guiding her way. A similar view finally came into her vision; an ocean of blue touching the empyrean above.

Snowflake ceased on her tracks as she inventoried her surroundings and noticed that she might have ended up on the other side of the island. Just then, her attention travelled towards the vehicle that was anchored at the shore of the island. Curious, the girl meandered to the ship, wondering who would possibly might have travelled to the island.

    ❊ LADY OF WINTERFELL ❊
Leaving the horrors of riding a boat behind felt like one of the greatest achievement of her life. Relieved out of her mind, she heaved a sigh, slumping her shoulders and making a very satisfied noise, eyes shut temporarily out of this feeling. “Ah yes, hints. We know nothing about the treasure, do we?” she told Snowflake, then opened her eyes, scarlet orbs darting around as she took in the lushness of the forest and the scent of it...so relaxing. Even though she was from the North and this was nothing like what the wintery regions of her home were, she was enjoying it. Maybe because it was just after the boat ride, something - anything - could save her from the restlessness. The sand swallowed her feet every step she took, so the Stark decided to take her boots off, sinking her soles in the sand. It was warm, the temperature creeping up her legs. Soon enough they reached hard ground, where Dimaria put on her footwear again.

The scent of this entire place seemed to reach out and massage her temples, an action she would take to relax herself whenever she was stressed or over thinking. It seemed that this place was like one of those places you would come on vacation, or something like that. Solely to relax. “Mmm, this place is quite lovely, isn’t it?” she asked, not really expecting a reply. It was more to lighten up the mood with some sort of conversation. Snowflake was definitely focused on finding the hints. Dimaria on the other hand, was having the time of her life, after being in such a situation of unease. That aside. She needed to pay attention to their job now.

As they walked, they seemed to have reached the other end of the island, which was quite a fast trip. The island must have been really small for them to cover it by walking just like that in such a short time and without even feeling tired. She did not know if Snowflake was tired, but she was not at all. All the training. They paid off, and right here, right now was the proof. Her father was a hard trainer, but it was all worth it. This job alone was not the evidence. There were other situations in which she felt grateful towards her father, and her family, and everyone back in Winterfell. Now this caused her to wonder if Snowflake had caring family like her, if she had a home far away, from Fiore. And if she did, she wondered if Snowflake planned to go back. What was her goal in life? This was their second job together. She could call her maybe a ‘friend’? Something she lacked since reaching Fiore.

Now was not the time to be daydreaming. Snapping out of her train of unnecessary thoughts, Dimaria realised that they had reached a good part of their job. Dimaria grabbed Snowflake’s top before those on the ship noticed her. “Let’s be careful. Hide now and observe,” she told her as she looked over at the ship and made silent calculations.

    Snowflake

cold as ice swift as wind
    the whole world i'll acquire

Before Snowflake could proceed any further towards the ship, a tug on her jacket stopped her tracks as she would turn around to notice Dimaria pulling onto her clothing to prevent her from being discovered. Nodding, she ensured not to produce a single noise so as not to attract any unnecessary attention. Who knows what would happen to her if she got caught? Using a tree to keep herself hidden, she peeked over to the ship that was anchored ashore, curious on the kind of people on board. Strands of blue hair fell past her shoulder as silver hues remained fixed onto each and every movement of the people on the ship. Her eyes scanned over the deck and counted the number of people on board. The first thing she noticed was their eccentric style of clothing: ragged and ruined, their skin was of deepest ebony as if they had been tanning all summer.

Pirates – was the first word that came to her mind when she recalled herself reading a book about sea thieves and the huge similarity when she compared their appearance and the information that was written in a book. Swords and a variety of weapons were held in their hands as they marched off their ship after sharing a few words of cheers that they were going to find the treasure. Did I just hear treasure? The girl blinked, repeating the words they had just mentioned within her head but focused her attention back towards the pirates. If the pirates were going after the exact treasure the two mages were looking for, it might be a perfect plan to trail along their tracks and retrieve the treasure from them. Her schemes were already laid out as a small grin crept onto her face. “They seem to be looking for the same treasure as us. If we chase them, we might just reach our goal sooner than we expect.” she whispered to her partner, making sure no one heard her words.

Not bothering to even wait for an answer from Dimaria, Snowflake had already set off after the pirates. Stealth was her expertise, there was no way they were going to find out about the two of them, only if both of them are attentive. The girl would quickly meander towards the closest tree and hid herself behind the structure whilst making sure she was a couple of feet further away from the rest of the pirates. “Fast! We can’t lose track of them.” The girl cupped her hand around her lips and called for her partner, but in hushed tones.

The sound of water gushing filled through the entire forest as a waterfall finally came into view. The pirates seemed to be slowing down their pace as they drew closer towards the plunge pool. “Seems like they’re taking a rest here.” she murmured to herself and released a long sigh of relief. Leaning back onto the trunk of the tree, the young girl slumped in her seat underneath the shade of a tree. “This is some detective work.

    ❊ LADY OF WINTERFELL ❊
Somehow, Dimaria and Snowflake could both hear the words the pirates were saying very audibly, almost not a single word missed. They spoke in very loud voices, Dimaria could bet the entire island heard them. Pirates, the rude bunch. She kept a close eye as they entered the jungle and was starting towards a specific location. They probably had a clue where the treasure was, unlike Dimaria and Snowflake, so it was probably a good idea to follow them instead of finding their own lead. Snowflake understood this, too, so she began to follow them. Dimaria entered stealth mode as Snowflake had, making sure not to make a single sound as they hid behind trees, bushes and the tall vegetation. The squelching sounds produced by the pirates’ boots in mud covered up those caused by Dimaria and Snow’s footfalls. Thank the heavens they spoke like deaf people. They only probably heard their own voices and would not even catch a sound from the two of them who were sneakily at their tail.

Soon they had reached a waterfall and the bunch had decided to take a break here. Dimaria sat on a large rock protruding from the ground, the only place that was not covered in mud for some reason. She peeked through a hole in one of the old trees in front of her to see the group of pirates, who were now settling down around the waterfall area and probably waiting for something to happen before they started looking for the treasure. Dimaria thought she should actually rest too, while they had nothing to do at the moment, since she was quite fatigued by the situation on the boat. If only she had taken a flying vehicle, everything would have gone ten times smoother. Her stomach still felt odd as if someone was stirring it up with a spiked spatula, but once she was focusing back on the job, the stirring seemed to disappear to the back of her mind. Plus, she did not have time to take care of her stomach when she had far more important things to accomplish.

Detective work, huh,” Dimaria scoffed, wondering what it was actually like to be detectives. “Never really the type for stealth, but I guess we are outnumbered in this situation so it’s best we lay low for now, right?” she told Snow. She stole a glimpse at the pirates. They seemed very carefree, as if they did not expect another party to come and snatch their treasure, whatever the treasure was. Whenever she thought about it, all she could think of was a chest of treasure, but it was highly unlikely. Why would a job request be made to get a chest of treasure that pirates were probably getting from other places as well. Deciding to think less of unnecessary things, Dimaria tightened her ponytails, so that if they had to engage in battle before doing anything, they would be prepared and she would not have to worry about loose ponytails.
