Victoria took the two photos and looked at them, a grin on her face. But her grin melted as she saw the images. Her hands began shaking as she remembered that hatredful scene of her mother's death. The first image was a young boy, Victoria's age, with white spiky hair and beautiful sapphire blue eyes. She would never forget this face. Danila Portescue, her twin brother. She looked at the other picture, even more nervous than before. A white haired man with a small ponytail and a caring smile stood there. Her father. Jack Portescue. She let out a sigh and her face adapted a serious expression. She let the pictures on the table elegantly, as always, but with a small glimpse of her shaking hands.
''
The Portescue family has slighted another nobility and asked me to have them removed from the threads of life. I have now relegated that job to you. Your goal is to attend this Royal Ball that they are in, eliminate the family that are in there and get out. I have here an invitation for you to make this job easier, but I warn you that if you get caught then the Rune Knights will be up your ass. Will you take this exam?'' Victoria nodded and fell on the floor. The hatred burning in her chest made the nauseas she felt affect her less, but she still got them. Which was something incredibly annoying. The whole fact that she was a dragon slayer on a ship was ridiculous, but hey. Isn't the whole world ridiculous?
''
Very well. I accept this job.'' She said, her face serious. With a small bow, she left the office and headed towards her mansion, ignoring Meinu, the bargirl, who was attempting to ask her where she was heading to.
As she reached her mansion, Victoria opened the door and immediately went towards the bedroom. She sat on the bed and read the invitation, a grim look on her face. When she finished, she looked at the clock to make sure she still has time to get ready for this and plan this out, plan it in such a way that she wouldn't have the Rune Knights following her. She still had a lot of time left, so she immediately went to the bathroom to take a shower. When she finished, she got out, put on some make up and combed her hair so that it could look straight. She didn't want to put any make up, so she just put on her dress and sat in the living room, writing down different ways to take her family down. Her brother would be easy: He was the inteligent, not the fighting type. And he was known to be flirteous. All she had to do was make him notice her, take him to a secret place, and then kill him. But her father... Her father never walked around the young girlies, not after he got married for the girl with which he cheated on Victoria's mother. He would be hard to get, considering that he always had a lot of Protectors around him. But she had an advantage there too: The people who protected her father didn't use magic, they were just good fighters, while Victoria was a Thunder God Slayer. She could eliminate them easily...
''
Vic, where are you going?'' A voice asked behind Victoria as she was putting her scythe in a bag, since she had made it shrink until it wasn't bigger than the palm of her hand. She turned around to see Buria standing there with a curious face.
''
Don't even ask: You can't come.'' She said, since she knew that her pet was going to ask her this. ''
I am going on a mission. A solo mission. For real, Buria, you have to stay here today.''
Buria whinnied and walked away. The Thunder Godess got out and closed the door with key, then walked through Noximus's streets, between the busy citizens that were heading for work. As always, she was threated like a celebrity, just because she was a Nox Animus. She walked to one of the ends of the city and jumped down, then began flying. She seemed to be a redhead angel without any wings.
After an hour of flight, she landed on the ground of Crocus. It was already night. It was a bit chilly outside, but Victoria didn't care one bit. She looked at the invitation and discovered with disgust that it was in the Portescue Manor. She walked towards it, high heels making slight sounds on the floor. She reached the house quickly and knocked on the massive black doors. A woman, middle age, opened the door and smiled at Victoria.
''
I am sorry but this is a private party.'' She said, smiling.
''
I have an invitation.'' She handed the invitation to the lady, smiling. ''
Erza Fernandes. ''
The woman checked a list and let Victoria enter. Apparently, there was a guest list, and the so called Erza Fernandes was on it. Victoria entered the ballroom and her eyes traveled it, studying it. There were many decorations, lights, chandeliers, tables with food and drinks. Apparently, most of the things were powered with electricity. Of course. Victoria's father would never ever let anything magic enter the house, even if it is a bare lacrima. There was a beautiful blond girl singing ballads, with many people, mostly men, watching her. Victoria's eyes managed to se eand understand the fact that this party was nothing else but those usual aristocratic parties in whic the big fat nobiliary bosses try to find a good husband for their daughter and expand their economic possibilities and raise their social rank. And of course, Danila was the most wanted husband, not only because of his money and social rank, but looks too. Victoria managed to catch a glimpse of her father talking to some other aristocrates, two bodiguards behind him. She'd have to take out the bodiguards before taking out her father. And apparently, she had to take out her brother first. He'd be the easy pray. She wanted to kill them slowly, painfully, as they did with her mother. And she had to do it somewhere, where she could escape. The room next to the ballroom. It had a door leading to the backyard. If Victoria succeeded in killing them, she could easily escape from there. She'd only need to open the door and escape. And then fly. Once she was up in the sky, nothing could stop her. But she had to figure her spells out too, since she couldn't use something too destructive and noisy. It had to be something quiet that couldn't surpass walls. Maybe her C Ranked Shadow Dragon Slayer Spell would do. It couldn't go through walls, so it could be safe. It was also a truly silent spell, considering that it wasn't destructive in the meaning to destroy walls, but it rather rotted everything around it. It would be a silent death, filled with suffering. When she had enough seeing him rot, she'd cut his throat and end his life. But before that, she'd make sure that he has suffered just as her mother had suffered. And for her father... For him, she had planned to make him suffer her wrath at the maximum. She wouldn't let him away as easily. He was the main villain in the story, the antagonist. And that is why she wanted to eliminate him in the most painful way possible.
However, even thought the mage had just entered with all her beauty and gorgeousness, nobody seemed to notice her really. And this annoyed her, to be honest. Or maybe it was better this way, considering the fact that this way, if she succeeded in killing the Portescue, she could escape without anyone being able to give a description of her as a possbile assasin, a suspect. She sighed and went directly for the drinks, hoping that her brother would notice her. He was standing in the middle of the ball room, with at least 10 girls around him. Victoria rolled her eyes and went back to the drinks, her face obscure. In front of her were all type of exquisite drinks, variating from champagne to wine, but no liqueur, no vodka. Her lips turned into a straight line as she took a glass of Wine and tasted it. Her father, of course, had always hated strong drinks such as Vodka, and has preferred Wine or Champagne. Victoria didn't mine wine, but she couldn\t stand champagne. It was horrible, absolutely horrible. She turned around and her eyes followed her brother as he danced with a beautiful blonde, and then turned to her father, who was talking with some of the important merchants/nobles/aristocrates of Crocus. Due to her God Senses, Victoria could feel the magic around her, and right now, she couldn't feel any. It was pretty clear that this place had only one mage around, and it was Victoria. She sighed in both irritation and exhaustion and continued drinking her wine. A hand was placed on her shoulder. Her reflexes and instincts told her to turn around and zap the enemy, but she managed to keep herself from doing that as she turned around calmly, a smile on her face. Her brother stood behind her, his sapphire eyes, the eyes Victoria had once too, the white hair Victoria had once too and all of the other Portescue family traits that she once had too. And that now she was glad she didn't have anymore. Biologically, she was still related to the Portescue, but phisically and mentally, she was not. And she was glad about that.
''
Who are you, fallen angel?'' He asked her with a seductive face. In normal circumstances, her eyebrow would have shot up at the instant, as well as her fist, but now, she just smiled.
''
I am Erza Fernandes. And you must be Danila Portescue, am I right?'' She asked, still smiling, even though she was sure that Danila didn't deserve to see her smile.
He nodded shortly and offered her a hand, then pointed to the centre of the ball room.
''
Would you like to dance?'' He asked softly, yed still seductively.
Victoria nodded, and, in the same second she did it, she was practically dragged to the dance floor. There was a slow, boring ballad going on, and Danila began dragging her around in some sort of a strange dance she didn't like at all. However, she managed to follow his movements, and didn't fail. After what seemed an eternity, he got close to her ear.
''
I want to show you something. Follow me.'' He said. It was pretty clear what he wanted to show, but hey. She followed him right to the room she needed, the room with a door leading to the backyard, and followed him in. She silently closed the door and looked at Danila with a dark smile.
''
You are the only one that caught my attention tonight, Erza. Your beautiful flowing red hair, your eyes, your...'' Victoria interrupted him in mid-sentence.
''
Tch.''This was the only thing she said. Lightnings began crackling around her body madly, fueled by the hatred she felt at the moment.
''
Did you just say Tch?'' Danila asked, angry.
''
Yes I did, Danila.'' She said, her face obscure, no emotion on it. ''
Let me see if you can recognise me, brother.''
Danila's face went pale, really pale. He had recognised her, and he knew that she was capable of killing him. Apparently, he was trying to say something, he was trying to say her name, maybe, but the fear he felt obstructed him. She got near him at her Godly speed and pushed him against the wall.
''
Surprised, brother? I am back. And I am back for revenge, this time.'' She said wih a dark grin, an evil grin. She held him against the wall by the throat, not letting him breathe.
''
You.. won't dare... Rune Knights...Legal Guild...'' He was apparently trying to say that if she killed him, she'd get kicked out of the Legal Guild she was in and that the Rune Knights would catch her and throw her in jail.
She laughed. Her laugh was cold, yet melodic. ''
Oh, I haven't told you, have I? First, my dear brother, do you seriously think that I will let myself being caught that easily? And second, I am not in a legal guild. You are going to be killed by a dark mage.'' She explained, and let him down. Danila fell and took his hand to his neck and massaged it.
Meanwhile, Victoria got away from him and concentrated. A black aura surrounded her and just seconds after that, she muttered her most silent, yet one of her most destructive spells. '' Shadow Dragon's Black Wrath!'' A black miasma was released and it hit everything around, rotting it, aging. When it reached Danila, he let out a gasp as his flesh began rotting, falling, leaving his bones out. She smiled and stood there, waiting o see how many time her brother would stand it and how much would he suffer. But she just couldn't stand still. She walked to him and covered her hand in Lightnings. '' Breakdown Fist of the Thunder God!'' Her magic seal appeared and a gigantic black fist hit Danila. The black miasma continued rotting him, and now it began rotting his face too. She waited three more minutes until she saw that he had suffered enough and she opened her purse and took out her mini-scythe. With a swift movement she rose it and it grew into a 5,9 foot scythe once again. She turned to her brother and, with a blank expression on face, she cut his throat. Her brother fell to the ground, blood spilling from his throat like a fountain. She sighed and decided to move on to the next part of the plan. She swiftly opened the door and left the room and her eyes traveled the ball room. Her father was alone. She moved to him with elegance and a happy expression and bowed in front of him when she reached him.
''
Mr. Portescue, Danila would like to talk to you in private about mine and his future together.'' Victoria explained with a smile. Jack Posrtescue threw a look at his bodiguards and his eyes landed on her again.
''
What is your name, dear?'' He asked softly. Of course, he'd want to know the name of the ''future'' wife of his son and know if she comes from a wealthy family.
''
Erza Fernandes, sir.'' She answered with another bow. Jack smiled and made a signal to his bodiguards in a signal to go away and followed Victoria to the room. The mage hoped that the miasma had went away while she was away, and, thank god, it had. She let Jack enter first and closed the door. Her scythe was resting against the wall and she quickly took it. Her father turned around with a terrified expression. He had seen Danila's corpse.
''
Who are you?'' He asked, terrified. Victoria just smiled and put her scythe on her back.
''
I, father, am Victoria Anna. The child whose mother you killed. The child you closed in a closet. And certainly, the girl that will end with your life... Tell me, father, the house is made out of marble, right?'' Victoria passed a hand through the wall. Her father nodded. ''
Very well then.''
Victoria rose her hands and looked at her father. ''
Heavenward Halberd of the Thunder God!'' The massive Black Lightning spear formed in her hands. She charged at her father, who retrieved, but she was faster, and stabbed him. He exploded in black lightnings and she could see blood spilling on the floor. The lightning hit the marble, but didn't break through it. Victoria's father yet out a muffled yell and fell to the ground.
''
You are the worst person in the world and have no right to live.'' Victoria said and rose her hands, covered in lightnings. ''
You shall die from the hand of Victoria Anna Hunter, the Thunder Goddess.''
That said, she put her hands on his head and electrocuted him. He let out a yell and died, while Victoria quickly opened the door and left the house. She looked at the sky and flew upwards quickly, a blank expression on her face. She could hear the Rune Knights below, but she was too high up to be noticed by them. And she was thankful for that. After an hour of flying, which actually made her incredibly tired, she reached Noximus. It was standing still, it wasn't moving. An exhausted smile made its way to Victoria's face as she noticed she won't have motion sickness at least. She landed in front of house and began walking slowly towards the Guild. People made her way as if she was an incredibly important person, and she could see some smiles from them. She took a glance at her dress and noticed it was in perfect state. She took her hands back to her hair and tied a part of her hair in an elegant messy bun. She opened the doors of the Guild and entered. She sighed and walked to Alexander's office, then knocked on the door. She waited a second and entered the office. With a blank expression still, she look at him in the face.
''
Job done.''
