Maiden Snatcher Akryn and Bloodcakedflame

Akryn wandered through the woods outside of Magnolia slowly and cautiously. He had been tasked with rescuing a fair maiden, and, being a ladies man, had been more than happy with the task. But as eager as he was, he wasn't foolish. His last runin with these little monkey bastards hadn't gone well at all and he wasn't looking for a repeat. As he had entered the forest, two Vulcans had jumped him, armed and ready. Not far after he had met a similar ambush. These bastards were organized, far to organized, for normal Vulcans. This sort of thing was not common and often meant an outside influence. Or a really experienced Vulcan. Neither was a good thing.

Akire had heard about this job involving VUlcan's snatching up women and had decided to look into it. Normally a loner, he had somehow managed to get dragged along with this other mage, how he did though was a little hazy. The two ambushes prior weren't too bad for Akire. He had managed to dismiss both of them with hand-to-hand combat, hopping to keep his magic in reserve for the stronger beasts. At least that what he kept telling himself as he tracked through the forest. He decided to voice his concerns to his partner, who he could guess was thinking the same thing, "those guys were far too organized in to come up with something as complex as an ambush." He said ducking under a branch.

"Agreed. Vulcans aren't supposed to be smart. Its natures way of keeping them in check. Last thing we need is for someone to be leading them and giving them orders." he said softly, almost to softly for Akire to hear. It was obvious he was concerned about being heard, likely hoping to avoid another ambush. "We cant waste any more time on these things. Every moment we waste, the girl is taken further and further away. I never did ask, whats your magic? Mines storm?"

Akire took the hint and spoke softly too. "Then I guess we'll have to move a little faster than this if we want to have any hope of finding her." He said as he climbed a tree to get a better. A top the tree he took time looking around the forest, searching for signs of the missing woman. He didn't find her but what he did see might help them in their trek. He climbed down the tree, dropping the last few feet he dusted himself off as he spoke. "I think I know where they're going. There's a small mountain north of here. It's a fair ways off and likely guarded, but that makes it all the more fun. Akire said as he nodded in the direction of what he assumed was the most likely place for a mountain Vulcan to head.

Akryn nodded and rubbed his chin thoughtfully, looking in the direction of the mountain. "A likely spot. A mountain can be rather defensible, especially if you know the caves and your opponent doesn't. And once there, there is no telling how many they would have at their backs. Probably a good idea to catch them before they get there." he said, turning to eye Blood thoughtfully. "We should split up. If we spend all our time dodging ambushes we are going to get no where. So lets set the ambushes off instead. Think you can handle the part of the diversion while I put on the chase?

Akire nodded "You just focus on getting her back, I'll handle the ones out here. There can't be man more...can there?" he says picking up a solid looking stick. Testing it a few times he takes off sprinting toward the mountain, clinking the stick against tree's constantly and calling out the Vulcan's "COME ON YOU FILTHY BEASTS! YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING BUT LIE IN WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO FIND YOU! WELL IM FINDING YOU! COME AND GET ME! I DARE YOU!" Akire yelled these sorts of things as he rand around the forest, being chased by angry Vulcans.

Akryn smiled a bit as his current ally took off. "Well cant fault him for a lack of enthusiasm." he said as he turned and quickly started making his way towards the mountain. With Akire drawing so much attention, Akryn had a fairly smooth run of it, and it wasn't long before he found signs of the maiden he was searching for. Namely, one of her blue slippers that the father had said she had been wearing at the time. Normally this would be good news. Except it was found in the middle of a very large, crushed bush, showing a creature of some significant size had rested here with her. Much bigger than most Vulcans ever reached. The thought bothered Akryn more than a little, but the slipper showed he was on the right track and he quickly took off in the direction of the mountain again. He had gone no more than three steps however before he was forced to throw himself backwards, bending at the waist and sliding on his knees, as an absolutely massive green fist came down from a tree and took a swipe at him.

He quickly twisted his body and used the momentum of his slide to regain his feet, turning to face his opponent. His jaw dropped as he looked up at the monsterous, by Vulcan, or hell anyones standards, four armed ape hanging from a tree. Its greenish coloring had camoflouged it well, and two arms were currently being used to hold, and silence the maiden. Akryn could easily see how this thing had gotten in, gotten the maiden, and gotten away. What guard would challenge this??

The Vulcan grinned at him before dropping down to the ground, landing on its feet with a thudding sound. It tossed the maiden into a nearby bush and raised its arms in a fighting stance as it began to advance towards Akryn, who was again stunned. He had expected this thing to just charge him, not bring up its dukes. Another sure sign of intelligence, Akryn thought to himself. Someone had a hand in these monkeys. But he had no time to consider this problem as the large Vulcan attacked, unleashing a barrage of punches, jabs, hooks, straights, with all four arms, with the balance and power of a boxer. Akryn was forced on the defensive, trusting in the magic of his catskill coat, as he was pushed back in a desperate attempt to avoid the beating the Vulcan was trying to give him.

Right now Akire had accumulated more Vulcans than one could shake a stick at. but only if one replaced the word "stick" with "fists and feet", which is what Akire was currently doing. Vulcans were tough but not to terribly bright, which made slashing them fairly simple. Currently he was fighting 6, having felled 3 of the beasts by some miracle. Though he knew that his partner, and he used the term loosely, was going to be in a world of hurt. Akire jumped as one of the Vulcans threw a fist at him. Landing on the arm he ran up and kicked the it in the face, using the momentum to fly into another. Both fell to the ground, the Vulcan on it's back and Akire on its stomach. He hopped off and faced the last Vulcan. Taking a stance of karate and Muay Thai, he readied for an attack or prepared his own.

Akryn quickly leapt back as the huge Vulcan drove a fist down, into the ground. Akryn winced at the thought of what would have happened had he not been so fast. This monkey was not to be underestimated. But then again, neither was Akryn. He smiled a bit as the Vulcan charged in again, fists raised and ready. It was about to unleash another barrage until an orb of water suddenly appeared over Akryns head and fired a powerful jet of water into the things face, forcing it to take a few steps back, but it was to big for much else to happen to it. But Akryn wasn't done.

With a quick activation of his shock step spell, he became a bolt of lightning thatquickly, and harmlessly, passed through the Vulcan, with Akryn reforming on the other side. He quickly spun about, bringing his gale gauntlet into the surprised Vulcans kidneys. While Downpour hadn't been able to budge the Vulcan, this blow sent him sprawling a few feet away. The Vulcan quickly rolled forward, back to its feet, and spun about to face Akryn, just in time to get several softball sized hailstones to the face, shoulders, and chest, again driving the ape back. But it wasn't done either and it quickly leapt up, into the trees, somehow disappearing......

Akire was dancing with the Vulcan. This one was putting up more of a fight than he had thought. Probably enraged at the falling of it's comrades or something like that. they were trading blows pretty harshly, Akire grinning like a fool all the way. This is taking too long. best finish it up now." he said clenching his fists he flexed his muscles, blood erupting from the cuts along his body and hardening into blades. The crimson sword blades protruding from his body gleamed in the sun light. He ran at the Vulcan, he jumped and spun by him, the curved blades slicing open it's arm. he landed and stopped, blades dug into the ground he pushed off and flew again at the Vulcan's back. Impaling him with one of the large blades on his shoulder. He pulled out and wiped his hands off on his pants and shirt. then headed in the direction of the mountain. He kept his blades out to increase his traction of the ground and make him go faster. "Hope he's doing fine without me" Akire thought as he ran through the forest.

Akryn was back to hopping and dodging, but mostly guessing at this point, as the large Vulcan somehow camoflouged in ith the branches overhead, its large fists pumping down from the trees at frightening rates. Akryn had no idea something that large and powerful could move so fast and quietly, and Akryn was forced to dodge like mad. Sometimes he wasn't fast enough though and he had already taken several blows to his head and shoulders. One such blow shot down from the trees, smacking Akryn in the face, shattering his glasses and nose and sending him sprawling backwards into the grass.

Akryn laid there a moment, struggling to get up as the large monkey suddenly dropped from the trees, grinning like made. "Kong win fight. Kong take woman. Kong kill you now." he said simply, raising a huge fist and sending it hurtling at Akryn. But Akryn had been waiting for this, and as the fist came in, Akryn curled his leg and activated his windstep spell. Just before the fist impacted, his kicked out, using the sudden burst of air from his feet to propel him past the fist and between the surprised Vulcans legs.

Using the same technique the Vulcan had used earlier, Akryn placed his hands on the ground and let his momentum carry his body up over him into a sort of flip to regain his feet. He quickly jumped up a bit then and kicked out in front of him with both feet, sending himself hurtling backwards into the Vulcans back with enough force to knock it off balance.

The Vulcan quickly turned about, bringing a massive fist around as well, but Akryn was to fast. He used windstep to leap up, over the fist, before activating his shock palm spell. As he fell he brought his electrified fist down along the Vulcans face, causing the ape to stumble backwards and spit out some teeth. It snarled as it squared up again, ready to go once more. Akryn knw he couldn't go another round of brutal fist to face with this thing.

As the ape suddenly rushed in, one arm drawn back, Akryn raised his hand, palm up, aiming at the ape. "Sorry Kong old boy. Its been fun really. But I cant keep this up. So neither can you." he said as an ice arrow formed in his hand. He waited until the last second, just as that massive fist was coming forward to fire the arrow. The world seemed to stop for a moment as the fist came to a halt inches from Akryns face, and the Vulcan stared at him, confused, before looking down at its chest, where only the very end of the ice arrow was sticking out. The ape took a few steps back, trying to comprehend what had happened before falling to its knees. It looked up at Akryn, giving him one more look of confusion before falling forward onto its face, the fight quite over.

Akire had arrived just a few moments after the Vulcan fell down, probably dead. He swings from a branch and lands on the ground, his crimson blades still sticking out all over his body. He examined the body and confirmed that the 4 armed Vulcan was out of action. He stood up and relaxed his concentration. The blades that littered his body melted from their tips to his skin, falling as bloody droplets to the ground. Rolling his neck "Yeesh. Making it here was a paaaain." he said drawing out the last word for no reason. He looked and Akryn "You look like crap dude, you good?" he asked prodding his swelling cheek. Akire glanced around and started looking for the girl who was taken and who the person that requested the job was looking for. wasn't too difficult, just had to follow the heavy foot prints back to the cave...
