Leonard could note and sense the disapproval of his partner with his tactic as he looked upon the pieces he has gathered from the beast. He could not see the reason behind it because he doubted that this would be much help. For he favored feeling and instinct, which he will not argue, will get the job done but it is more effective if you know your enemy. In this case, they didn't. "Yeah, I mostly do myself. But I don't want to rush in to this one blind. It had a lot of tricks in its arsenal and I like to know more from where they came from." he then gestured at the pieces on the ground before them and added "These will help us find answers. Notice that these were the most prominent or important features, basically its the stuff he needs to live and hit us with. From here we will unlock its secrets, but if you don't like to help that's fine. However, you helping is appreciated all the same." he said and then proceeded to mingle with his work.
First, he tested the tentacles. Leonard would rub his hands around it to get a better feel. They were soft, squishy, and slimy. Disgusting as it was, it had to be done since it was the only way to know what's special about it. He even had a frown on as his hands swept across the disgusting object. The external parts of the tentacles didn't give much answers, only that they are slimy and could have been used for something else. So next he went and tested some of his weapons on it. Obviously, most of them cut through since they were all sharp. But if the tentacles were this soft, why do they hit hard? He had to dig deeper. He equipped some medical tools, which none thought he had. In fact, he had only started to have on these when he traveled to other lands. He carefully scrapped off the skin to find the internal workings. It was tiring and took a lot of time, but after four minutes, he had opened the tentacle carefully, keeping its internal workings intact. And there, he found the answer. Underneath its skin were special organs that increased the tentacles' density whenever it needs. Leonard noticed that the down side to this however, is that the tentacles will loose flexibility. But of course, it's an advantage for them. But there was something else that caught his eye; an ominous nerve that seemed to serve no purpose, so he let it slide.
And now that he was done with the tentacle, he grabbed it, stood up and threw it away. Leonard looked at as it was on the air and then when it was on the ground. He saw the view of the Phoenix mountain's peak. What was important in the view was that their target was there, and that everything around it was starting to decay, his eyes quickly widened, and his hands became fists clenched tight. He was greatly angered by the destruction of nature and wanted to end this quickly. Which meant he had to finish studying quickly. So he sat back down and quickly rummaged to his next test subject, the dragon's blood.
