Re: Demons of Oak; Lich Slaying
After quite some time of piercing through legions of demons with extreme speed, making pieces of their bodies fly off from where he was, Leonard has finally arrived at the top of the spire where an ominous black skull engulfed in green sickly flame was nestled in the middle. There were also bolts of green electricity shooting out from it, striking small poles on the ground. As disappointed he was that the lich wasn’t in this spire, he was also determined to get rid of this malignant object, for no doubt this is what is powering the spire and summoning these demonic creatures who apparently have come to the spire in great numbers, sensing a threat to this crucial source of evil. Legions of evil creatures with a certain command over the elements of ice and darkness swarmed and charged at him. Clearly they were not afraid of this lowly human. And while any normal mortal would flee, Leonard stood his ground and wielded a light sword and a fire sword. Behind him was his sky sword and he bent his knees and held his weapons in front of him as the winds began to stir around slowly caught fire.
Afterwards, Leonard was cloaked in flames, defended from most of the attacks of dark and frost while Leonard charged in wielding a blade of heavenly light which cleaved through most of the undead with ease, gracefully rushing forward with fluid movements striking from vantage points. He made series of ducks and side steps all accompanied with his own attacks. Despite the hides of the demons, the blade sliced through with ease for it burned their skin before the very blade itself touched their flesh.
A perfect dance with his weapons in had as Leonard anticipated every move, taking his time, gracing every movement. Yet it wasn’t all flawless. For as the numbers continue to swarm, more attacks had to be defended. The constant pushing forward of the demons forced Leonard to fall back bit by bit until he was by the wall with little room to move. Clashing was heard with every move as his blades struggled to keep the claws and other weapons away from his flesh. The flame cloak had already died out by this time and the demons were free to use their power, shooting out shards of deadly ice.
Leonard let out a gust of wind to roll over to that side but some shards scathed him. A cut on his back and shoulder slowly let out some blood. It was painful indeed it continued after the roll. A pain held back appeared upon his face. However he did not scream, he only breathed faster and heavier.
He was frustrated, angered, for he was about to lose but he couldn’t let that happen. It would put a shame on the name Fairy Tail and less importantly, the name he made for himself. Raising his hands and slamming them to the ground let out a wave of wind that brought everything around him back. And as he raised his head and looked at them with fierce eyes, he charged out with two massive swords, leaping up to the air going down with speed that would create a huge impact on where he lands, which he intend to be the center where the skull was. Stretching his arms out like wings, he all placed them forward to gather all weight there and propel him faster.
He landed on the skull, breaking it as he went through, crashing to the ground letting out wave of smoke, debris, and demons. With the skull gone, the demons slowly felt drained and eventually die and Leonard had time to breathe. But it wasn’t enough as the earth began to tremble, hasting the spire’s fall. He looked around and saw what a very troublesome condition he was in. The trembling was not of his making, and he wasn’t sure what was making it. He had to get out. But when he was about to move, the spire fell apart and was going down with it. And as he fell, he grabbed on to one of the huge pieces of debris and gained footing on it. He then looked up and jumped to one debris to another, going upward to avoid getting buried. When he was at the last piece, he somersaulted away from the falling spire and landed on the ground with a cloud of smoke covering his vision.
When the dust settled down, he couldn’t make out where he was. It was entirely different, but he was sure he was still in Oak town because of the civilians still scattered around. He couldn’t understand what was happening anymore but it was clear to him that he needed to save the townsfolk. However, there doesn’t appear to be much time for there were two walls. A smaller one bringing about more demonic problems, and another closing in on them that would limit their room of movement.
To make matters worse, the demonic lady was shooting beams all over the place, decimating both demon and human. Despite it being the only option, he had to at least minimize human casualty. And the only way to do that is to get them underground, which seemed to be the safest place around. Using his earth hammer, he slammed it to the ground creating a huge hole which he worked on further that created an underground tunnel. When he was done he returned to the surface and cleared the area of demons using his light sword that let out a steady field of heavenly light and left it there, forcing demons to stay clear of it. Afterwards, he cast his wings and flew towards to a cluster of humans, prioritizing the bigger ones.
He flew with haste for there was little time left. Demons were mixed with humans so he had to be careful with was he going to do.
When he found a large group, he encircled it first, assessing with keen eyes what was demon and what was human. And once all targets were identified, he let loose his weapons, raining it down upon the evil creatures simultaneously before landing. The people were glad to see they were saved and he lead them towards safety.
He stayed in front of them while he held his lightning spear that shocked every foe nearby. The people he led also inspired organization and courage among the other people which resulted to them being followed by the others. But as the group grew in number, it was also growing difficult to defend it.
And so Leonard summoned forth his void minions all equipped with his own weapons, creating a decent perimeter around the civilians. He looked back at them and knew he couldn’t do this all by himself. He needed the people’s aid. And so urged to the men of the town to fight and defend themselves, sparking their bravery. He gave them his other weapons and so they tried to fend off what they could.
The journey was long and hard. It produced casualties among the townspeople who choose to defend themselves. Leonard was beginning to become exhausted, nothing was clear because of the mixed shriek of humans and demons filled the air. They were all crying out because of their losses. He had thrown all his weapons at the fiends and used every technique they had: summoning bolts of lightning down upon then, and an electrifying burst of energy from the spear’s head to clear their way, incinerating all the demons on the path, clearing some of the noise.
Finally they had made it to the tunnel. Leonard and what was left of his void minions defend them while they all went in. Once it was all over one of the lady’s beams went their way so Leonard had to quickly seal the entrance, leaving some small holes for air to come in. After that, the beam was so close; he was barely able to get out of it. It knocked him off with his eyes closed to the ground.
When it all cleared out, it was quiet enough, given the situation. Leonard had finally came to to see that the outer wall was about nearly one with the other wall. The demons were all lying dead near the tunnel, in fact everywhere.
Did she stop it? Leonard looked towards the central tower and there he saw the source of the problem facing off against the demon slayer. She might not need his help but he was willing to give it anyway. He grabbed his light sword and hurried to the top of a nearby ruined building. From this vantage point, he had a clear shot at the lich’s head.
He gathered up whatever strength he had left, charging up the weapon. Once it was shinning brilliantly with light, he let loose a heavenly wave of light huge enough for the lich.
The lich heard it come towards him but it was too late, he was struck by the light that forced him back and he screamed in searing pain as the wave was slowly trying to get through the target. The enemy defended himself with whatever method he could to save himself from being destroyed. And he did it well. This however provided the lady with a huge opening to finish it off herself.
Afterwards, Leonard was cloaked in flames, defended from most of the attacks of dark and frost while Leonard charged in wielding a blade of heavenly light which cleaved through most of the undead with ease, gracefully rushing forward with fluid movements striking from vantage points.
