Seas Combopost [Solo / Open-ish] SjLIDpi
    X = Pod locations.
Ignore the pod near Clover, I decided not to put one there as the river connecting flows from both Whirlpool and/or Calm seas already.

A combo post,  joining the four seas posts into one.  The only purpose is to read them all in one package rather than going to the four specifically.

Clementine swam through the seas on the back of Stygil,  who took the form of a great shark 12 meters long.   She rode on top of the big fish silently through the waters.  Her wings were withdrawn as they'd only be a nuisance under water.

Not as though they'd be wet,  no,  Clementine's hair was as dry as can be as were her clothes.   Her barrier saw to that.  Her wings would be no exception.   But they would slow her down.

Considering Clementine expected to be occupied for weeks as it was,  she did not cherish the idea of wasting any time.

< We're there > Clementine said,  patting the side of her shark.   Stygil acknowledged and slowed to circle the area but Clementine was already off,  treading water elsewhere.

They were about three hundred meters below sea level,  but this "Calm Sea" was indeed the calmer of the seas and they hadn't run into any nuisances below the waves.

Clementine reached inside the folds of her dress,   it was a fairly frilly dress with a slight bell bottom to it,  and withdrew a small sphere of metal with studs abound and a small white skull set on it's surface.

She pressed down on one of the studs and threw it through the water,  only getting a few meters due to the resistance and it started to sink for a moment before there was a  sudden thud,  a clank,  and the little ball expanded to become a large metal contraption.

It resembled an old industrial depth mine,   ready to explode at any moment.  But it was a deception,   and it's dark black and blue form would make it difficult to see at these depths.  Especially considering the lack of light.

It was of no concern to Clementine however,  and she swam to the pod that sustained itself,  maintaining it's elevation where it formed.

On the top of the pod, most people would undoubtedly miss it if they didn't know what to look for,  but Clementine pressed a hidden latch in the topmost stud and with a click,  the hatch was unlocked and water rushed in on it.

Clementine wasn't pulled,  she resisted quite easily especially with her barrier,   but the pod shuddered and dropped a few feet before picking itself back up,  stabilizing itself.

She nodded in approval,  proud of the contraption,  and swam through the small entry portal.   The opening was narrow,   but she squeezed in without too much trouble.   Larger people would have a hell of a time trying to squeeze in,  especially strong muscular men, she imagined.

Clementine tucked herself in,  rotating in the water to sit upright, having entered head first,  and closed the hatch.

She looked around the inside of the pod,  it was relatively roomy,  she had enough space to work with,  but at the same time it'd only fit maybe four people at most if they didn't mind the complete lack of privacy and constant contact with one another.

There were switches on the wall,  a variety of small basic controls mostly regarding the pumps to get all this water out of here.  But that wasn't a concern for Clementine.

Instead,  with the hatch closed,  Clementine held out her hands to her sides,  palms up and gathered concentrated amounts of radiation.   Two brilliant balls of energy formed there,  emitting heat as such to boil the water around it.

Slamming her hands together,  the spheres collided and with a burst an intense flare of radiation surged away,  but meeting the sealed interior of the pod it rebounded,   intensifying and heating the water to the point that it'd likely cook any other creatures that were in here.

To Clementine's eyes,  she could see the beautiful vivid marks of high radiation painting the pod with it's glory.   Beautiful,  magnificent radiation at such levels that it was a death sentence for the living to enter.

This radiation enveloped the pod,  infusing it's very being with this radiation and contaminating the water around it.   Already there was a cloud of radiation around the pod,  and as new water entered the area,  pushing old water out,   the cloud spread.

Eventually it's contamination would effect much of the sea,   and traces of it would be able to be detected much farther in minute amounts.  It wouldn't effect anyone so far away though,  but in the immediate sea in which Clementine swam it would kill many ocean going life,   mutate others,  and at the least make fish a very poor choice of food.

The water from the sea would be soaked up into the land,  and eventually get at plantlife along the coast.    Oh and the swimmers,  oh the swimmers.    Clementine shivered at the thought.   Give it a week,  give it a month,   hell give it a year.   Eventually,   these seas will be dangerous to tread.

Laughing,  filled with glee,   Clementine opened the hatch and left the pod,  closing the hatch behind her,   and mounted Stygil to be off to deliver more of these gifts of hers to the good little boys and girls of Fiore.

Clementine rode on the back of Stygil,  having taken the form of a great shark she road it all the way from the Calm Sea where she delivered her last payload.

But that was only stage one.  Her plan required the placement of several such payloads.  The second of which...   As she recalled,   was in the closest sea.  The Graveyard Sea.   One of the more dangerous seas as clementine recalled.

She didn't pay too much attention,  but as with any "Graveyard Sea" Clementine expected many natural phenomena like gas reserves,   areas of strange water density,   or abnormal creatures.

She didn't get far into the Graveyard Sea when she encountered the first strange creature.   A swarm of small sharks with literal razor fins and bladed heads.   Small meaning in comparison to the behemoth of a shark Clementine rode.

These sharks were only two to three meters in length,   and Stygil bloodied the water with their corpses.   His mouth bloodied from their edges,  but it was negligible.

Clementine herself killed many of them herself with blasts from her arm cannon,  the directed radiation bursts not being too hindered by the water.

It was regrettable that she hadn't any electrical energy to expend.  A good thunderbolt cannon would do wonders under the seas.   She had captured lightning in the past,   but in the few thousand years traveling to this world...  the radiation was long faded.

She'd have to run into a good lightning mage someday.  On an arcane world such as this,  surely there were a few good mages of electricity to run into.

Continuing on their way,   Clementine and her partner easily carved a bloody path through the soggy monsters that opposed them and eventually found their way to about a central position in the middle of the sea.

A good current was nearby,   making it as good a spot as any to set up shop.    Clementine reached into the folds of her protected dress and pulled out an iron ball an inch or so big,  feeling it's studded form she pressed one of the studs down and tossed it through the waters.

The ball expanded,  becoming a large chamber.   The sound of it's expansion carried through the water and as she approached the pod a large shape approached in the distance.

Clementine could make it out just fine,  it was a great whale.

A bigass,  great whale.    Clementine hadn't seen anything like it before.  But the whale was at least five hundred meters long and would easily swallow Clementine,  the pod,   and even Stygil whole.

It's body seemed to be plated with heavy insect like shells,  and it's body looked somewhat segmented and elongated,  but still a thick whale shape.      It had six great fins that beat at the water in succession,    with it's great finned tail swishing along behind it.   I had a great mouth of long spear like teeth that grew as thick as grass in that mouth of its.

Rogue teeth could even be seen spearing through it's mouth out at odd angles.   Adding to that effect were many spikes along it's joints,  going down it's spine,  crowning it's head,  and studding it's fins.

    Well shit.

She'd just expanded her pod,  she couldn't retrieve it.    She wasn't about to waste one of her pods.

As the beast approached,  Clementine crouched on top of the pod,  supporting herself with her feet as she leveled her cannon at the approaching creature.

Bright light collected and grew at the end of her cannon,   an expanding ball of light gathering itself there heating the water around it up causing bubbles of steam to swarm up and away.

She had a clear shot,  a beam of radiation filled the length between her and the creature.  It grew in size,   distorting the water along it's path preparing the way...

And with a great flash of light a surging beam of nuclear energy tore through the sea waters and impaled the beast squarely in it's head.

The cannon's highly penetrative power broke through it's armor and left a great smouldering hole of boiling whale fat and mass blood.   A few moments later the side of it's head exploded in a shower of gore.

The whale roiled in the water,  releasing a loud cry as it went belly-up.

But something was odd.   The explosion and beam did a lot of damage,  but it was all on one side.   Like it was well contained.

The creature's layered skull had defended it well,   it's brain suffered heavy damage and it may well be retarded now,   especially with the pounding levels of radiation.   But the whale had resisted a killing blow.

The creature slowly rolled upright,  sluggish and very dazed.  Disoriented.   The whale slowly built up speed and charged Clementine in a rage.

< I think you pissed it off > Stygil said needlessly.

< I think that's quite obvious,  thanks > Clementine said sarcastically.   But that's alright...  I got this...   Clementine flared nuclear radiation,   a few cracks appearing in her body from which energy surged through,  boiling the water around her.

With a burst,   Clementine shot forward like a torpedo through the water, aiming high.    As Clementine and the whale neared,   the whale drifted up,  it's great maw open wide.   At the last second,  a second crack and a great flick of energy catapulted clementine vertically and out of it's mouth.

And right into the meaty crater Clementine had carved in the side of it's head.   She dug in with her hand and against the surface of the beast's exposed and very damaged skull she leveled her cannon and with a punching motion she forced the cannon in through a large crack in the bone,   fracturing it a little more around the crack but it was very broken already.. even so Clementine could only wedge the cannon in a small portion,  just the tip.

That was good enough for her.   With a flash of light and a surge of energy,  a beam of energy crushed the bone beneath her and dug into the whale's head.  Blood and bone fragments filled the air around her as her beam tore into the beast's brain.

The great whale shuddered in pain for a second before growing silent and unmoving.

< I'm suddenly uncomfortable in this form > Stygil said,  noting his large shark body.   Not comparable to the massive whale,  but still in the category of "Large fking fish".

With a sigh,  Clementine swam back to the pod.

< Lets finish this up, shall we? > To hell with this sea.     Getting in her pod and sealing the hatch behind her,  she created two balls of light in her hands and slammed them together.     The pod was flooded with sky high levels of radiation and her job was done.    The seawater around the pod  was contaminated,   and in the flow of the ocean it spread.   Eventually,  later down the road,  it's effects would be felt everywhere in this sea.

    Time to move on.

Clementine rounded her path in order to maintain a similar distance from the landmass of Fiore.  She was able to periodically project her senses starward to get a birdseye view from her location in order to guestemate her position relative to the country.

Using that information she was able to determine the approximate time she should continue on in a certain direction before turning more northward.

She could also see just how much ocean she  passed,  and along her way to the Cloud Sea she dropped a third pod into the sea outwards away from the Phoenix mountains coast,   between the Cloud and Graveyard seas.

It seemed odd that there wasn't an exact name for this area,  considering the other seas,  but this stretch of water had no name she saw on the map that she lifted from a library.    Regardless of having a name or not,  it was a good place for the third hotspot as she continued north and into the Cloud Sea.

Casting her vision skyward,   Clementine could tell why the place was referred as such.  It was indeed very cloudy,   and the sea level was littered with glaciers.   There were many chunks of floating ice everywhere.

Not so clustered together,  but it was very cloudy and from the birdseye perspective high in the sky,  Clementine could see that the ice grew in density until they formed a great ice sheet much much farther to the north.

These clouds in combination with random floating glaciers would make for a dangerous trip through the ocean.

Stygil,  less protected than Clementine,   had shifted from his shark form to take the shape of a killer whale,  much more resistant to the cold waters but losing some of that ferocity.

It didn't much matter,  Killer whales were almost as dangerous when they wanted to be and Clementine could easily kill any wee beasties that threatened them on her own.

The northward trip as deep as they were didn't effect them like it would a sailing ship.   Glaciers posed no hazard as deep underwater as they were,  pilled under several hundred meters of sea.    And as such their trip went by mostly unmolested.

There was the occasional deepwater creature,   but between her killer whale companion and Clementine's own defenses they posed no threat.   Most were smaller scale,  but Clementine had the nasty confrontation with a colossal tentacled creature.

Not nearly as big as the great whale,   and infinitely more fragile,   the creature if not slain had at least decided it sure as hell didn't want to poke fun at the pair.

By now Clementine had estimated that they'd be somewhere centered between an island she noticed marked as "Snowfall island",   and the coastal towns of Gallowstown and some "Holy Castle".

Noting the size of the Cloud Sea,  this was an excellent spot to drop the fourth pod.

Withdrawing an iron ball,   Clementine tossed it away after pressing it's activation button.   The ball grew into a full sized pod hovering sturdily in place.    Opening it's hatch,  she swam inside the contraption along with a rush of water and closed it behind her.

Collecting energy in the palms of her hands,  she created two spheres to smash together and flood the pod with radiation.   Great amounts of radiation that permeated the pod in it's entirety,  completing the pod's transformation from a simple pod into a deadly anchor to contaminate the sea around it.

The amusement of completing this task had faded,  having performed it several times already and she'd been swimming for over a week as fast as she could not stopping to sleep.  Sleep was for the living,  for the organic.    For the weak.

Clementine pushed forward,   carrying onward through the ocean.   Days and Nights,  it didn't matter.  All there was was ocean.     But the end was in sight,  then she could get back to land and make up for this effort spent in the waters.

Imagining what she'd do once she gets back to land was a waste,  and would only wear down her morale.   She banished the thoughts and pressed on.

Sometime later,  Clementine was up on the final stretch of the Cloud Sea,  farther north and in between an intersection of River Village,  Silent Glacier,  and Rose Garden.   Somewhat closer to land,    where a large bay ended in a thick river.

Contaminating the sea here would be preferable,  where the water would more quickly spread through the river as well to make the lives of the riverfolk hell.   Yes.  This was a great spot.

Retrieving one of her few remaining pods out from her dress,  Clementine rolled the little sphere between her fingers,  soaking in the moment.   After a few moments longer she decided she'd paused more than long enough and tossed the little ball away with the click of a button.

The ball expanded,  growing to full size and allowing Clementine to swim inside and create her burst of radiation,  completing the Skullwater Chamber as she referred to the final product.  She felt a little dead inside,  Psychologically impaired from all this damned repetition.

She was getting damned sick of the ocean.  She needed to burn down a kindergarten or something to make up for her troubles.   Infiltrate a brothel maybe.  Anything.

Clementine was use to crippling boredom,  she'd once been imprisoned inside a damned box for several hundred years,   in addition to having to travel for thousands of years to cross planets.  But in both cases she could simply hibernate.  Something she couldn't do here,  since she was actively traveling in order to place pods and change direction and what not.

She was a creature of pleasure,   of amusement,  and she demanded to be entertained dammit!

Having thrown her little fit,  mentally,  she scowled as she gripped Stygil and started to move onward.

Clementine rounded the little penisula upon which sat the Rose Garden.   Several miles out from sea of course.   She had no idea what time it is and didn't bother to do anything to get a bearing on the time.  It didn't matter.  It didn't effect her.

She had one goal.   Her one mission.   Well,  more like the first goal.   This was the first stage to her plans.  Contaminating the oceans.   There had to be an easier way to go about this in the long run,  but she didn't have the means for now.

In the future,  missions like this would be accomplished more easily.    She'd have to acquire an airship,   then she could drop pods from the sky set to rest at a certain depth.   Then she could just drop the suckers into the ocean from the comfort of the ship,  with a crew to entertain her.

Clementine was NOT that patient,  and was rather short sighted at times.   And so here she was.   Swimming deep in the middle of the ocean with a killer whale.

< Not your best idea,  I admit > Stygil said,  feeling her thoughts.  They shared headspaces so often that Stygil often picked up on her feelings.   Her pet,  partner and most prized minion,  they'd traveled with each other for countless years.

The magical little creature was just a cowering little fox creature about to be dinner for some humans.   She liberated it's species and slaughtered the humans of that world,  setting the "Glyph Foxes" as the top of the foodchain there.

He was the only creature Clementine had bonded with,  it knew when to keep it's mouth shut- a figure of speech in this case- and always tried to be useful.   It never questioned the things she did,  but at the same time she knew that he didn't like them either.   It didn't matter to it one way or the other,  but it didn't like them.

Clementine didn't care if it liked it or not,  so long as it was helpful.    Such as now,   as Clementine rode on it's back as Stygil swam in the form of a killer whale.   It's shapeshifting and ability to merge with her was what really provided endless amusement for Clementine,  it kept the creature fresh.

Stygil didn't even mind pleasing her in other ways with it's shapeshifting when she needed it.  She rarely used him as such,  but it was there.

Clementine's thoughts were interrupted by the sight of an approaching whirlpool.    As the sea was named for,  the Whirlpool sea did not fail to impress.   Up ahead beyond the first whirlpool Clementine could see a growing number of them.

Some were incredibly large,  and as such were actually Maelstroms.   The watery funnels didn't often stretch low enough to bother Clementine however.    What did effect her was the powerful currents.    The Maelstroms weren't formed out of thin air.  They were there due to the vast spidery network of random currents.

    Clementined sighed.

< It'll be a major ass-pain to navigate all these currents.  We're going to have to power through.  Merge.  >  Clementine commanded,   and the large killer whale swam a loop and disappeared into Clementine's chest,  it's body condensing and focusing inward like it was being sucked up.

Stygil didn't have to say anything,  he had a good idea of what she was thinking of doing and his asking wouldn't have changed anything either way.

Cracks appeared on Clementine's body and the water around her was heated,    flares of nuclear energy leaked from the cracks and bubbles veiled her as she shot forward becoming like a humanoid torpedo.

Her tragectory was shifted every now and then by strong currents but she kept a mostly straight path through the water.   She couldn't change direction on her own,  this powerful burst was self sustaining and pushed her along a singular path.   But her path was kept mostly straight by the variety of currents and the minimal push they had on her due to her speed,   protective barrier,  cushion of bubbles,  and the intense energy surrounding her.

The burst carried her forward and fatigued her a little to push through so much water and fight the currents like this,  but only a little and not physically.   It remained on a steady burn for several hours until Clementine came to a spot in a patch of calm waters.

Pulling out one of her last pods,  Clementine tossed it carefully and let it expand.    Climbing inside,  she emitted her burst as routine and exited.   She stretched in the water,  releasing some tension from her form.

She was finally done.    She had one pod left,  to be used some other day when she found a use for it.  A spare.     She'd finally surrounded Fiore,  give it a few months to maybe a year and the oceans will be a contaminated mess unfit to even swim in.

It was time for a break for sure.  Clementine's thoughts turned to the man she met in her little adventure of lust.  A break would do wonders now.

Clementine's wings sprouted from her back and encased her,  glowing,  shining,   from inside it was as though looking out at the stars in the middle of space.   The twinkle of little distant lights.

Clementine's power flooded through her body,  and through her wings,   filling her little feathery cocoon with magic.     It took some time to charge up,  but with a shift Clementine opened her wings to look out at Fiore from above.

Finally,  she was done playing in the water.   It was time for some fun now.
