And that’s that! Both of Tim’s offers were a desperate attempt at keeping Nita from doing anything drastic. The trip was to ease her to the idea that he wasn’t really going to be a wizard anymore, meanwhile his little proviso over their revenge was to make sure she went after them. He knew his magic wouldn’t be returning anytime soon, hopefully for good. If it never does, that’s one more win for him. But, just in case it ever does, Nita should never bear the burden of his revenge. Tim cared for her too much to let her go down such a path.
“It’ll be dangerous alright,” He laughed. “So the best strategy is to safeguard poor ol’ me.”
Despite everything that happened to them, the world kept turning. It was humbling, knowing how their lives played only a part in the grand scheme of things. But it highlighted what Tim valued the most. The best thing that came out of his trip today was getting to spend time with her again. Especially since they get to do it in a peaceful place so close to home. In the end, it doesn't make them any less important if they stop holding the wheel from time to time. So let the world turn without them for just a few moments more.
