Description: Far before firearms made their appearance in the world, snipers and sharpshooters were still feared by armies and lone-wolf mages alike. A well-placed arrow could blind, hobble, or poison someone from a hidden position. There is truly no shortage of enchanted bows, as well as the augmentations and magical charms that can be added to them. Not all mages require strength, but the arts of an arcane sharpshooter have unique demands on the body and mind that not many even among mages can muster. The most legendary of bows were said to have their own intelligence and refuse to be used by all but the most elite.
The archers and woodland snipers of Fiore are a varied lot--united only by their focus and concentration. They have been well known as trackers, scouts, spies, assassins, and more. Those that fear a sniper-mage's magic know well the damage a poisoned arrow head can do--as well as the information that can be stolen by the unwavering gaze of a silent stalker. Many arcane sharpshooters focus on magics that enhance their stealth, allowing them to disappear in any environment or cause the mind to gloss over their existence. In the beginners bag of tricks, there are often also abilities that assist the sniper's allies and hobble their enemies. Poison magic is a common technique--as are spells designed to pin their targets down--so that their allies may close in and finish the job.
In an ideal world, the magical sharpshooter's power and skill is one that can turn the tide of even large-scale battles--from a safe distance.

When shot, the arrow leaves the faintest trail in darkness--like a ghostly firefly.

Description: Target grows painful bramble vines from their wound, which borrow into the ground/floor, rooting the target in place. This prevents a target from dodging or moving for the duration.

Description: The sap from this arrow stops the wound from closing naturally on a normal person (does not effect healing abilities). This causes a small amount of damage until the arrow is removed, and allows the mage to track the target. Those who have heightened senses of smell can also track the target by the unique aroma of the arrow's sap.
