Description: Petal magic is a unique magic whose name doesn’t do it full justice. Petal magic isn’t about flower arranging, or allowing for pretty scents, but rather about manifesting raw emotions out into the world which are represented by the shape of petals. This magic’s main focus is upon the interaction and characteristics of emotions. This makes the magic an interesting case study for use both inside and outside of combat. Anger could lead to dealing damage, sorrow or joy could lead to healing, playful or excited could lead to illusions, etc. One thing that this magic never does however is control an opponent, so there is no real “binding” in a typical sense of locking them in place by paralyzing etc. most if not any kind of movement stopping revolves around them being swept in emotions and not physical restrained. Petal magic is also unique in how it affects an area, and could be described as being precise over large areas, as it deals with emotions and natures of others, targeting and affecting them different depending upon the situation. This leads to the magic being personal to all it affects, but being able to affect a wide range of people, to either stop, protect, heal, or understand them.
Sharp’s wields this magic in a strange way. She uses it not to try and understand others, as that is effortless, but to try and understand herself, and to use it as penance for all the crimes she has committed. In many ways this magic is a sick joke, as she used to never feel emotions, know others natures, to have a conscious, but now she can completely understand others, and can feel all different ranges of emotions. This would have been a blessing, but now she has the capacity to understand all that she had done and how wrong all of it was, and just how horrible she is. In terms of using this magic, she’ll mostly use it to try and understand others, to help them with any emotional problems and try to provide healing and protection above all things, but if one proves to be at their core a grave threat due to their nature and their emotional situation, she will attempt to subdue them to the best of her abilities. This magic’s intent wasn’t to “kill” a victim, and she doesn’t focus upon it except in the worst of cases, where she can suppress her guilt and emotions long enough to stop them permanently. Overall her fighting style with this magic is help others first, understand them, try and negotiate and only use the limited violence in this magic as a last resort.
Strengths:
- Celestial: Petal magic, due to Sharp, counts as celestial, (so it can’t be eaten by slayers or absorbed by others {normally}), and follows all the positive and negatives that, that brings.
- Emotional Control: The user of this magic can control their emotions perfectly, allowing for them to think completely logically by shutting down all of their emotions or become a giant mess that makes no sense, and just wishes to eat a bowl of ice cream.
Weaknesses:
- Celestial: Any forces that do more damage or affect celestial spirits in a negative way affect Sharp, as she is a celestial spirit etc. This isn’t so much a weakness of the magic so much as a weakness of herself, and thus can’t be overcome.
- Lack of Physical Binding: Petal magic doesn’t deal much with the physical, with the exclusion of a few personal tricks of Sharp. Petal magic can’t physical bind someone in place, regardless of potential counter logic.
- Catalyst Based: Most of the spells in petal magic require for the opponent to look at the user in some form in order for them to activate, thus those who are blind can typically avoid the spells, in addition those without emotions might not be as affected by the illusions, merely due to how their minds work off of logic.
- Synthetic Celestial:
Name: Synthetic Celestial.
Wielder: Sharp.
Description: Sharp unlike most who might try and claim a fancy lineage, wasn’t actually born. Artificially created within a lab Sharp was an experiment done by a man who wishes to obtain godhood. She was but a small stepping stone to see if a magical being could be created from next to nothing. This has made Sharp an anomaly, she isn’t truly alive, wasn’t truly born, and doesn’t truly follow any of the rules that her “race” would normally be subject to, an artificial missing link to test the boundaries between the physical and the metaphysical. While the test was considered a success, Sharp could be considered a failure, due to the restriction placed upon her by the creator. For his own personal reasons he has denied her the ability to feel almost any true emotions, making her a failure in terms of her own life, a success in terms of the original outcome of the experiment. Despite this emotionally she is broken, and on purpose, by her creator, an experiment to see the way one who lacks the ability to feel can adapt to its environment, though even this hides their true motives. This has lead, to a broken being which should have been, for all intents and purposes, almost perfect for what it was created to accomplish.
Sharp doesn’t have many claims to fame, she doesn’t have a heritage with deep rooted connections, just what she was given when created. Sharp is basically a modified Celestial spirit, made from the sole goal of bridging the potential gap between mortals and the magical. Like a normal celestial spirit Sharp can form contracts with others, for them to summon her to their side, but unlike a normal celestial spirit doesn’t need the contracts in order to keep her within the mortal plain, but rather can subsist independently. Sharp’s only real reason to form contracts is to gain perspective into the emotions of those she has a contract with, allowing her a greater understanding and to try and fill in the pieces for her own missing emotions. Thus Sharp is also more suspect to the behaviors of those whom she has formed contracts with, as her more blood thirsty nature due to her contract with Chaoris demonstrates. This small link to creating emotions and feelings of others that she has a contract with is the main reason why it might be possible for her to fully recover her emotions at some point in the possible future.
Finally Sharp’s magic, with her being a celestial spirit and all, are basically inseparable, and using her magic is like moving her hand. This makes her heritage mostly about her magic and how both can intertwine and affect both her and one another, creating a focused, for the most part, being that can use nearly any of their abilities as just a singular focused effort, though this leads the conflicting part in her mind that limits her emotions as of right now, making the focus still there for fighting but not there for what it can truly do, curing and healing emotions. Regardless she still has some abilities that are inherent even though she has lost her emotions, for the most part, which are listed below:
Sustained Celestial Body: Sharp is a being of magic tied to not only others through her keys, but the celestial realm due to her nature. Unlike other spirits however she doesn’t feed off of those who she has a contract with magical power to stay in the mundane world, instead she is self-sustaining, which leads to a strange phenomenon. Sharp still has the natural instinct to take magical power, but doesn’t need to, so she instead of the celestial realm trying to call her back, Sharp takes magical energy from the celestial realm to help fuel her and repair her “body” further within the mundane world. Sharp can return to and from the celestial realm at any time, and should Sharp die then she will be sent straight back to the celestial spirit realm, regardless of how she died, or what other factors would prevent her from doing so. This happens when her HP hits 0 or she can will it if her HP drops below 20% of its total. Secondly Sharp’s body allows her to choose to ignore up to all friction upon herself, and can always count as “faster” than the fastest person in the thread {before de-buff’s/removals/reversals} (counting as 1% faster) and with the reflexes to match, however, Sharp can’t receive any other speed increases from both her magic, both primary and secondary, and her equipment, and foreign sources. Finally Sharp MP pool is limitless, but she starts every topic with the normal amount of MP etc.
[*]Ether: Sharp’s magical energy isn’t the same as the majority of other spirits, instead it is made up of a substance called ether. While for the most part ether mechanically functions the same as normal magical power, ether allows Sharp various advantages over other energy based counter parts, while also providing a few restrictions. The first benefit is that Sharp’s magical power level is harder to read for others, making her difficult to sense her magical power level (such as “rank”, or total MP pool) making her appear as just a mundane individual with a little amount of magical power those whom are originally one rank higher can sense that she has a moderate level of power, and those who are original two ranks higher aren’t limited in their sensing. If one has an ability which would negate this effect, treat them as one rank higher for her own resistances.
Ether also makes purifies the area around Sharp, and within her body which makes it highly difficult for foreign magic to manifest in and around her. Sharp’s magical energy can’t be targeted directly by equal or lower ranked attacks/effects, this includes her body as well. In addition spells and abilities can’t be manifested within 25 meters of Sharp so long as they don’t originate from the casters persona. Finally anything that can cancel out any of Sharp’s magic(s)/lineage/equipment doesn’t have any effect upon her. Areas on forum that disable magic, still cause her to be unable to use her magic as normal, but don’t cause her to vanish back to the celestial realm. If one states their ability to cancel magical power can’t be ignored, then Sharp’s magical abilities merely are half as effective.
Ether Manifestation: Sharp’s being a purely magical being can shift her body into that of her magical energy ether, which allows her various benefits. Firstly Sharp’s body naturally reduces incoming blows, providing a 25% damage reduction to both magical and physical sources, which can be toggled on and off at her whim, and All damage reduction that Sharp has can’t be ignored/bypassed by effects originally equal to her rank. The ether that Sharp produces is as strong and durable as her rank, and Sharp can purify an area around her, turning all inherently non magical objects/areas around her into Ether. Sharp can manipulate this Ether without the need for thought or physical movement. Sharp can change the appearance of this Ether to be anything, but typically she has it look like petals, for various reasons pertaining to other abilities located within her magic. Finally due to this form, Sharp can function in any non-magical environment without worry, and due to being a celestial spirit in general doesn’t need to breathe, sleep etc.
Contracts: Sharp as a celestial spirit can form contracts with other’s. She can form up to 3 contracts with different player characters, and up to 2 contracts with non-player characters (so more for plot reasons than anything). These contracts allow for one to summon Sharp to aid them in the thread for a limited time. In order to be summoned Sharp must have an open thread type (so she must have an open job slot, or social slot {social encompassing duels etc.} In order to be summoned into a duel both parties must agree for it to be allowed.) If Sharp is summoned into a job, Sharp only gains 50% of the experience from the job, and it takes 10% of her MP pool to stay on the field every post, though it only costs the key holder 5% of their mana to summon her. Sharp can only use spells up to the one who summoned hers rank, so if she is summoned by a C rank and is B rank, she can only use up to C rank spells in the thread. She still has all of her items and magic’s when summoned, but only lasts for 5 posts before being thrown back to where she was before the summoning. She can only be summoned once per thread. Sharp’s posts count don’t count towards the total posts needed in the job. If Sharp is summoned in a non-combat social the restrictions above don’t apply, since she could probably just join the social anyway. Sharp can learn the various fighting styles and languages of those whom she has a contract with, so that she can better support them in battle, and as long as she is contracted to one person, Sharp is fearless.
Unique Abilities:
- Empathetic Illusions: Sharp’s magic is generally tied to emotions, or her bodies state, her illusions thusly also focus upon this aspect too. Any Illusions that Sharp creates can only be negated by effects that originate from a source that is a rank above the Illusion, or Sharp’s own rank, itself. So if a source doesn’t allow for an opponent to be trapped in an illusion, than that effect must be one rank above Sharp for it to apply. This rank must be before modifiers that may increase the rank of effect, effectively meaning that the source must naturally be a rank higher than the source’s rank for Sharp’s illusion. In addition Illusions tend to play off of an opponent’s emotions, making them harder to tell apart than normal, for those who lack emotions the illusions are as normal. Whenever a being is affected by an illusion that Sharp has made they lose 2% HP and 2% MP as the illusion damages their mind and body slightly.
- Mental Empathy: Sharp’s emotional reading abilities are second to none, and playing off of that she has devised a few methods to assist and communicate with others. Sharp can telepathically communicate with any ally within the same thread as her, but in order to try to do such to an enemy they need to be within 100 meters of her location at the time. In addition Sharp can instantly read the various types of emotions that one is experiencing, however this ability can be muddled if the others emotions are unclear or the player of the character doesn’t wish to share the emotions. Effectively it allows for Sharp a better understanding of another through emotions on occasions. Finally can hide another’s emotions that she is able to mentally communicate with, if said persons wishes it.
Petal Form: Sharp’s is a celestial spirit originally designed to be based around emotions and controlling the extremities of them, which manifests from her in the form of petals. These petals aren’t just various emotions, but also willpower and her magical ether energy manifest. Sharp’s body can become formed out petals, with the petals being as durable and powerful as her rank, should these petals be used in spells the spells rank will apply to them instead, (so a C rank spell doesn’t suddenly become A rank etc.). Any part turned into petals doesn’t have its normal bodily functions hindered, even though Sharp doesn’t require such parts to actually “function” normally. Due to her bodily make up Sharp receives a passive 15% damage reduction to both magical and physical attacks. Finally whenever Sharp could potentially be hit by an attack she can leave an after image of herself being hit by the attack as an illusion created from the petals, even if she isn’t struck by the attack proper.

Description: Sharp extends her magical energy out to others within the area, and allows them to obtain hers. Sharp can select up to 2 others within the thread as her, +1 for every rank above C Rank so (3 at B Rank, 4 at A rank and 5 at S rank) to share in her energy. When she does this, she can choose to share any amount of MP with them, but in turn will lose it herself, the MP shared in this way counts towards consumption for force, and will be transferred into the source of energy that another uses, if they don’t just use MP. One can refuse to have this affect them. The range for her to transfer MP to others is 30 meters, with it increasing by rank (50 meters at B Rank, 75 meters at A Rank, 100 meters at S rank), though after the transfer they can go beyond the range of the spell. Transfer can only happen between individuals once per post.
Strengths: - Allows for the sharing of MP with allies.
Weaknesses:- She loses the MP she shares.
- Allies lose the sharing to MP if they leave the range of the spell.
D-Ranked Spell:- Name: Vanishing point.

Description: Sharp Vanishes from the opponents vision for a small period of time. This vanishing only applies to eye sight, so other senses could still potentially detect her. While invisible Sharp can teleport up to 15 meters a post, to various location. The invisibility part has no effect on those a rank higher than the spell.
Strengths: - Can teleport up to 15 meters per post for the spells duration.
- Sharp becomes invisible to eye sight of one equal ranked to this spell for the duration.
Weaknesses:- The invisibility doesn’t affect those a higher rank than this spell.
- Could still be sensed by any other sense (including magical).
- Only effects Sharp and her equipment proper, and not her spells.
C-Ranked Spell:- Name: Perception.
Rank: C.
Type: Illusion.
Duration: 3 posts.
Cooldown: 4 posts.
Description: A spell not really designed for combat but rather for assisting others, this spells allows for one to go back to points in their lives where at least one emotion of their was at its highest. While this isn’t actual time travel, but rather an illusion, it can allow for others to potentially reconcile a past event, or less likely used as a potential weapon against them. As Sharp can’t see what they see however, this isn’t a very good spell for combat, but rather to help those out around her. To activate it, she has to touch them, but doesn’t need to maintain contact for the spell to continue. Sharp can affect up to 3 people with this spell. If an effect from Sharp would indicate that someone is negatively affected during an illusion that effect doesn’t apply for this spell.
Strengths: - Allows others to potentially reconcile through a past event.
Weaknesses:- Is very short ranged.
- Sharp can’t see inside the illusion so it makes it poor for combat/manipulation purposes.
B-Ranked Spell:- Name: Healing Perception.
Rank: B.
Type: Supportive.
Duration: 4 posts.
Cooldown: 5 posts.
Description: By unleashing an illusion upon an allies mind Sharp can cause them to become calm for a while, as their subconscious begins to re live pleasant parts of their life. Instead of dealing damage, this spell instead grants healing equal to what this spells damage would normally be, and has the wonderful side effects of making people who are affected by the spell only being able to say nice things about Sharp while it is up, despite their potential thoughts to the contrary. This spell is triggered by an ally being within 50 meters of Sharp originally, and can affect up to 4 allies and Sharp herself, which has the hilarious side effect of her only being able to say positive things about her actions.
Strengths: - Allows for the healing of allies.
- People have to say nice things about Sharp!
Weaknesses:- Makes it so said allies can only say nice things about Sharp.
- has a fairly limited range for the spell originally, making them have to clump up to get healed in larger numbers.
- Sadly Sharp also has to say nice things about herself, leading to potentially hilarious self-degrading dialogue.
A-Ranked Spell:- Name: Loop.
Rank: A.
Type: Offensive.
Duration: 6 posts.
Cooldown: 8 posts.
Description: Loop is a spell which feeds off of the targets negative emotions and past regrets to create a never ending loop that they are sensually stuck in, deleting and repeating the memory of the last few seconds, and altering it to where they die over and over till they become repentant or just lose their mind. All this really means is that one who is affected by the spell ends up repeating an altered last few seconds over and over again, showing someone killing or reprimanding them in some way, till they eventually break down, or the spell expires. This spell erases the memory of the target at the start of every new loop, of the previous loop making it so that every time they are affected again by the spell they have to relive the events with a somewhat fresh perspective. To be affected one has to initially be within 75 meters of Sharp.
Strengths: - Can potentially disable an opponent for a while through the re occurring loops.
Weaknesses:- Doesn’t actually harm them.
- The memory loss of the last loop makes it harder for penance to happen occasionally, if the person doesn’t get physically and mentally worn down.
S-Ranked Spell:- Name: Perfect Hypnosis.
Rank: S.
Type: Illusion.
Duration: 10 posts.
Cooldown: 15 posts.
Description: Perfect hypnosis is a technique which allows the user to perfectly affect the environment that others experience. To many this technique could be considered the ultimate in Illusionary magic, having almost no real weaknesses inherent within it, instead the main weakness of the spell could be considered the users potential lack of knowledge or planning. For perfect hypnosis to take place, one must look at the user, (be this a previous illusion of the user or something they are controlling), once this limit is met, and then they are placed under the spell. While affected by the spell, opponent’s senses, both magical and physical, experiences are dictated by Sharp herself. This means she could make someone view a flower as a hideous monster, or a mountain as a mole hill. This allows for various horrific or pleasing combinations, however too extreme of changes would be obvious, so it is better to play subtlety with this spell, rather than going ridiculous. This spell otherwise doesn’t have much of an effect, causing no real damage to the ones affected by it. This spell’s duration is halved upon those one rank higher than it, (so 5 posts on “SS” and H rank). It can affect up to 10 enemies, and any number of NPC’s (pet’s with profiles, etc. count towards the number affected, but not random NPC’s).
Strengths: - Can affect all of a targets senses.
Weaknesses:- Only lasts half as long against those a rank higher.
- One has to look at Sharp proper for them to be originally affected.
