    Myriak Zmeyra Empty Myriak Zmeyra

Post by Zmey 28th July 2021, 11:31 pm

Name: Myriak Zmeyra, AKA Myri or Zmey
    Gender: Non-Binary they/she
    Age: 21
    Birthday: 10/15
    Sexuality: Bi
Special Characteristics: Myriak is a strange person, having reptilian traits even not tied to their magic. Their skin is pale and a clammy grey, not unlike a reptile’s, and her eyes have a brille not unlike a snake, giving her an extra set of clear eyelids that she can use to avoid bright lights and other visual distractions.

Personality: Myri is...off. It’s not just their appearance, which can make them look like a corpse even at the best of times. It’s not just their speech patterns: Vague, unconnected, prone to jumping topics with no rhyme or reason. It isn’t even their criminal lack of awareness for taboos, which one could argue stems from a lack of common sense in general. No, Myriak was a strange person from birth, and continues to be to this day. Despite being human, they seem to exist on a completely different axis, one that may baffle the people they speak to. It is an axis that intersects directly with some of the oldest, strongest beings in the world.

For Myri, the world revolves around dragons.

Well, not just dragons. It would be hard to idolize a life form you’ve only met once before, after all. All forms of reptilian life are a source of fascination to Myri, who claims to have hatched from an egg much like a lizard themselves. In particular, they adore the adaptability of the lower forms, and the raw power and mastery that their larger “cousins” exert upon the skies. But exaltation is but one facet of her obsession. Beneath their core lies another powerful undercurrent: Jealousy. A dragon is allowed to fly the sky freely and command incredible power, while they must contend with their relatively frail mortal body? An unforgivable sin. They must rise above, to stand on the shoulders of giants and beyond. But she long ago accepted that peace was not an option. A dragon will not be grounded willingly. To rise above dragons, they must dominate. Control. Rule over the skies will - must - be theirs.

With such a lofty goal, both figuratively and literally, it’s easy to see how Myri has difficulty relating to their fellow person. Their eyes are always set far into the sky, and rarely tolerate being dragged back to ground level. Similarly, they spare very little patience for interruption. All this can create the image of a person who seems like a space case, if only because they are hard pressed to be dragged into normal conversation. Still, humans can bring themselves to earn their respect, and occasionally their deep admiration. The language of strength is something they speak well; a show of force will garner her attention, and eventually her respect. Similarly, those with a disdain for humanity will find a kindred spirit in Myri’s goals, and maybe even her ego.

Perhaps this is why they get along so well with fellow outcast Ormir, a man whose strength they respect and who lacks the ego to challenge their goals. Who knows? Maybe this shows that their obsession need not dominate every facet of their life...

    Likes:

    • Heat. Myriak loves heat, as any good cold-blooded lizard should.
    • Meat. Myri loves a fresh piece of meat; if left to their own devices, meat might be the only thing they would eat. The rawer the better.
    • Something Sweet. Despite their many, many claims to the contrary, Myri has a fairly strong sweet tooth, and might be able to be bribed by a sweet stash or two.
    • Dragons. Myri lives in awe of the tremendous, flying creatures who seem to emanate power just by existing.

    Dislikes:

    • Cold. Myri hates the cold; it makes them feel sluggish, and they have a tendency to get sick from standing out in it too long.
    • Vegetables. Gross. Myri can stomach fruits, with their natural sweetness, but veggies are a no-go. Dragons should eat meat!
    • People. Other people are nosy, annoying, and loud. Myri could do without people asking if they’re healthy, or eating enough, or living, thank you very much.
    • Dragons. Myri’s jealousy at the powerful beings runs deep. They’ve never spoken to one, but they can just imagine the incredible patronizing energy they might exude, and it makes them bristle.

    Motivations:

    • Get stronger. Myri can’t possibly defeat dragons in her current condition. Maybe one day...
    • Travel the world. Wings or no wings, Myri is dedicated to expressing their freedom as often and as openly as they possibly can.
    • Embrace their reptilian side. Even as they show their dominance over other lizards, Myri wants to take aspects of them and add them unto herself.
    • Dragons. Myri wants to rule the sky and soar higher than any living creature. And to do that, dragons are her greatest obstacle...and greatest goal.

    Fears:

    • Failure. Myriak knows they are destined for greatness. Any instance of falling below the high bar they set for themselves is a pathetic display, to be buried away and hidden well from their opponents.
    • Restriction of Freedom. For one who wants to spread their wings, a cage is the ultimate punishment. Being unable to spread their wings and pursue their goals is almost more painful to Myri than true injuries.
    • Slayers. For one who wants to be a dragon, those who slay dragons are the ultimate enemy.
    • Dragons. Despite all their efforts, Myri knows dragons are not a force to be trifled with. They may very well fail despite all their preparations. This is a particularly recurring nightmare for Myri, who often dreams of being pitched out of the sky by some reptilian, winged foe.

    General Appearance

    Height: 5’2
    Weight: 112lbs
    Hair Color: White
    Eye Color: Purple
    Skin Tone: Grey
Appearance: Myri is a short, frail-seeming person who seems like they shouldn’t be anywhere near the battlefield, let alone in the thick of things. From her unhealthily gray complexion, she’s even been mistaken for a corpse a few times. Don’t be fooled, however; beneath their weak-seeming exterior lies a will of iron. Long sleeves hide patches of scales protecting their body, and blinking eyes hide a reptilian brille that belies their truest nature. In terms of clothing, they seem to wear whatever’s on hand, no matter how ratty or dirty. They seem to come second to whatever short-term goal they have their mind set on at the time.

    Guild: Plumed Serpent
Tattoo: Just below the collarbone, on the right-hand side
    Tattoo Color: Purple
