The clenching in his chest didn't subside as Leon descended upon him. The moment Percy had been wondering would still be possible between the two was here but... there was a familiar hollowness. Despite the obviously differing relationship circumstances, it felt like when his drunken mother would finally feel the need to hug him. It was a particular look in the eyes, a selfish desperation that this contact was something to try to feel better. Like those hugs, Percy would roll with this, though it made him feel a bit...used. Enough to cringe for a moment before he took the deepest breath he could to bear it.

Tasting the bourbon on his mouth, Percy kissed him back the best he could. It was a bit overbearing and feverish the way the kisses were coming, not leaving him too much room to contribute in his own inexperienced way. "Nnngh," Percy grunted, somewhere between a moan and a vocalization of pain. And that's exactly what it was. He did like things a little rough, but the grip Leon had on his wrist was a little too strong. It really hurt as he was forced back against the counter. He thought Leon pulled away from the kiss to investigate his near yelp, but all he saw in the man's gaze was pain and the type of lust that didn't want to think. The type that just searched for a balm, for any pain relief. Could he do this as his second time?

This was the one thing he hadn't tried to make him feel better, if only because he didn't know how to initiate it without Leon's help. Leon hadn't been interested in him at all. If he wasn't going to stop him, he might as well encourage it. Maybe it'd work? Even if it made him ache inside and want to run away, he wrapped his arms around Leon, dropping his shoulder so Leon could kiss his neck easier.

When Leon finally released his face and leaned back, he said something that made Percy's stomach twist tighter. But no, he had to act like he wanted this. Surely he wanted this. "I did," Percy said with a small smile, trying to take what affection he could get. Was it still selfish to take something for himself in someone else's suffering selfishness? He reached forward to help Leon with his belt and jeans buttons, then slid his hands up the man's chest to lift his shirt up and over his head. The bite of alcohol smothered out how Leon smelled, much to Percy's dismay. But it was to help Leon. His Leon. "Tell me what you want me to do," he said in a low voice. After that, he'd undo his own pants as he leaned forward to place kisses against Leon's chest. Now if he could just get his eyes to stop stinging...

That was all the provocation he needed, and the moment the two of them undressed, Leon's head was filled with thoughts of sex and alcohol. He didn't want to think about anything else, and the entire living room became a place of painful intimacy between the two lovers.

Their second time quickly became their third, and their third time was only a prequel to their fourth. On the countertop and against the wall, on the floor and held up by Leon's arms alone, the two of them indulged in each other without rest—though maybe that was Leon's fault. He hadn't given Percy a break and once he started, it became harder and harder to stop. His head wasn't in the right place, so it didn't feel nearly as great as the first time, but he already knew that he couldn't change his headspace right now. As time passed, he could feel himself creeping up on a mild hangover, but it wasn't enough to deter him. For the next hour and a half, Leon thoughtlessly laid with Percy.

    . . . . . . .

"Haa... ha... okay... alright," Leon looked down at Percy, who was bent over beneath him, pinned against the back of the couch. Sweat caked their bodies and an assortment of clothes littered the floor around them. Percy's body looked devoid of anything except for a few small hickeys, and yet there were several small and mild red patches of skin where Leon had handled him too roughly with his prosthetic. It felt good, but not great. It was relieving, but only for a second. No matter how many times he slept with him as he was, nothing could make him feel better when he knew that he'd eventually fall asleep again, and something about that made Leon even angrier.

With his metal hand, Leon thoughtlessly grabbed Percy by his elbow, pulling away from him and dragging him to the other side of the couch.

"You're good with 'nother, right? Hic..." Leon hiccuped and impatiently yanked him again, "Yeah? Percy?"

It was good that he was pinned because Percy had lost all the strength in his legs about halfway through the fourth time. If he cleared his mind and just thought of them as two bodies that wanted to feel good, the onslaught wasn't so bad. He could forget about the ache that something wasn't right. It was fine. He was already sore from the counter, but there was no stopping it. It was what it was. Not exactly what he thought their second encounter would be like considering their first, but... all he could do was arch his body against Leon's and ride the wave. It wasn't all bad. It just wasn't all he thought it'd be, but what did he know?

"Leon, not so hard," he gasped, red-faced and chest heaving as Leon moved. He almost collapsed to the ground, but Leon had a grip on his arm. A very tight one, as he seemed intent to drag him around the couch. It was hard to find his voice as Leon, who seemed to have annoyingly endless stamina, pressed for yet another round. Percy wanted to tap out, but it didn't seem to be an option. Still, he needed at least a small break to catch his breath, maybe get a drink. "Leon... Please, hold on... Let go a sec, I just need a--" Then there was an impatient yank as his exhausted body took too long to follow along. Snap!

    "...AGH!"

It was a short cry of pain since Percy wasn't too big on showing it and even less on giving it sound, but the excruciating feeling of bones snapping near his elbow made his head swim. He hung there for a second in the vice-grip, shuddering in shock and staring with wide, panicked eyes at the drunken man before he could do anything about it. Leon had just broken his arm! Gaining a burst of strength from pure adrenaline, Percy shoved hard at Leon's shoulder and wrenched his broken arm free of the metallic grasp, gasping out another agonizing groan as he did so. As soon as he was free he only staggered a couple of steps before his legs gave out properly. Pain twisted his features as he all but crawled away, putting his back against the wall near the front door and covering his lower half with Leon's nearby jacket. What else could he do but begin cradling the wounded limb, gently rocking himself back and forth? It was already turning a deep purple and red color, swelling at the fracture with each passing second. "It's...broken, I think," he hissed through his clenched jaw, unable to keep a twinge of anger and hurt out of his gaze. His gray eye shed an endless stream of tears that pitter-pattered onto the wounded limb.

Percy was breathing through it, waiting for it to pass. Leon didn't mean to. He wasn't familiar with the arm, though he'd warned Leon he needed to start working with it. Leon did care about him, even if it hadn't seemed like it lately. This wasn't on purpose. But, god, it hurt so badly! It was the same arm he'd broken just a few months ago when Fairy Tail's guildhall was toppled onto him. Maybe if it hadn't already been weakened he could have withstood Leon's untested grip. Tilting his head back against the wall to keep it from spinning, he finally trusted himself to speak again. Action plan. He needed a plan. He couldn't drive himself, so that left... "Drink some water. A lot," he said, voice deadly calm. He just had to endure it until Leon sobered up. Hopefully, that wouldn't take hours. "You need to sober up to drive me to the hospital. Can you do that?"

    Snap!

    "Huh? Hic..."

When Leon felt something snap in Percy's arm, he was far too confused by the feeling that he didn't react right away. But when Percy cried out, shuddered in place, and shoved their bodies apart, Leon knew what he had done. After a moment of strength, Percy's legs finally gave way as he collapsed onto the floor, crawling over to the wall and cradling his arm as he stared at the dark-haired Hoffman with this angry spark in his eyes. Leon's heart stopped.

"P-Percy! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! Here, let me... let me help you...!" Leon desperately wobbled over to him with a look of urgency and shame in his eyes, kneeling down to comfort his lover. But when he got closer and reached to cup his cheek, he noticed something running down his face. Those were tears. He was crying because of him—him. Suddenly, Leon froze and choked up, his hands, metal and flesh alike, trembling as they reached out in front of him. He felt as if those wonderful eyes of Percy's would stab daggers into his heart.

Between Leon's loss for words and his two-toned lover's laborious breathing, Percy finally said something after the choking silence. They needed to go to the hospital. Well, of course they did, didn't they? Why was he so used to Percy solving both of their problems with his genius and strength alone? Why wasn't he getting upset with him? Looking at his lover in pain, Leon looked as if he were about to cry. He wanted to hold him, but he felt like he... couldn't, after what he did.

"Fuck! I'm so sorry, baby! I'm so sorry... I didn't..." Leon began to panic when he heard how calm Percy was. How could he have been so careless about the one person he cared about most? Leon couldn't stop thinking about how he pushed and crawled away from him, looking at him like that! How could he have done such a thing to Percy? How could he have put him through so much pain? Still, quick to follow his instructions, Leon clenched his fists and staggered back to his feet, wobbling over to the kitchen in a hurry. "Fuck, okay... okay! Water, I need water... water... and clothes, too! Hold on, Percy! Okay? Okay... hic!"

    . . . . . . .

Leon must've drunk a whole gallon or two of water in just fifteen minutes, and by most people's standards, that wasn't enough time to really sober up, but he couldn't wait any longer to bring Percy to the hospital. Luckily, it was early in the morning, so he didn't encounter any problems on the road, and... those sounds he made when he broke his arms were enough to sober him up instantly. The entire time he drove there, his face was in a shameful glare, and his hands trembled on the wheel. He was terrified of his new prosthetic, but he knew that what he just did wasn't his new arm's fault. It was his.

The dark-haired Hoffman hadn't realized how much he was growing to dislike hospitals until he brought the minimally dressed Dagger in with him. Ever since he woke up in that bed back in Bellum, the sound of heart monitors and the smell of sterile air only haunted him. Just being there distressed him, but even with the thought of that mountainous battleground on his mind, Percy's well-being was all he could focus on. But even then, Leon couldn't muster up the courage to even speak to him as he let the doctor walk him into a separate room while he waited outside.

Leon was a mess. Sitting on the bench outside of the room, his leg bouncing rapidly, he held his face in both of his trembling hands as he waited. How could he have used him like that? Why did he come home drunk if he was going to be like that? Why didn't he give Percy a break? Why was he letting his own problems effect the one he loved?

"Idiot, idiot, idiot...! What the hell is wrong with me? Ungh..." Leon groaned as he mumbled to himself in the hallway, the bright lights making his intoxicated and concussed head pound like crazy. He couldn't even feel his heart beat with how it sank earlier, and yet it was beating so fast that he felt it might burst. For a second, he forgot that he was touching his prosthetic. There was so much going on in his head, he didn't know what to think right now. "I'm such an idiot!"

In Progress Re: Congratulations; You Survived The War [Percy/Leon]

Post by Percy 25th February 2021, 7:50 pm

Percy had been virtually silent after his command for Leon to drink water. Somehow he pulled on at least his underwear with one arm and put Leon's jacket over his shoulders, though the wounded arm remained out of the sleeve and cradled inside the open garment. He could have asked Leon for help, but... though he was even-tempered, he wasn't exceptionally keen on being touched at the moment. There was an invisible wall around him to protect himself, and he didn't trust himself not to flinch if Leon, or anyone, breeched it before he was ready. Normally he'd be dead set on looking a little more presentable, but the pain was clouding his mind and if he couldn't do it himself, then it didn't get done. At least he wasn't naked.

With every moment that Leon took to get driving ready, Percy became dizzier. It was a strange relief to finally get in the car, and even though it was cold outside and he was barely dressed, he cracked the window so the air could hit his face as they went. Honestly, it hurt so much that he forgot to worry about whether Leon could drive them safely. He was just glad to be on the way. The cool air kept him on the safer side of nausea, so thankfully he didn't have to demand they pull over so he could finally rid himself of that sandwich he fully regretted eating earlier. It threatened a couple of times but they arrived unscathed and without interruption.

After about an hour in the treatment room, a very disheveled, nearly naked, splotchy-faced Percy slowly emerged with his arm wrapped in a thin cast and supported by a sling. In any other situation, it would have probably looked hilarious considering how put-together he usually was, almost like he was some frat kid who had fallen victim to a night of youthful craziness. Even funnier that he wasn't the drunk one of the pair! The meds were just starting to work, so despite his appearance, he seemed back to normal emotionally other than embarrassment about his appearance. The anger and hurt in his gaze were gone and replaced by exhaustion and relief. Now that he could think more clearly, he wished he'd taken care of the break himself to save Leon some grief. Maybe save himself some grief as well, since the doctor had been baffled by and more concerned about the healing bruises on his joints than the break, which had earned him a scolding. It was a clean fracture and he had the stuff to remedy it in the lab. It was just... how and when the break happened coupled with the pain that had made doctoring himself seem impossible. This was probably for the best, though, since he was intent on finding a silver lining. While he was in there, he mentioned his persistent nausea and was given a prescription to help with that in addition to some pain pills and anti-inflammatory meds for his joints. Hopefully, it would work.

After seeing Leon waiting on the bench, he could relate to the man's distress all too well. Percy wasn't particularly fond of hospitals either, if only because he'd spent entirely too much time in them. He'd been a little sickly as a kid and pretty accident-prone, and after he was in for a long time from his burns he'd decided he hated the whole thing. The acrid bleach and the cold lights. The beeping was both blessing and curse. The overbearing vibe of tragedy and stress was steeped into every surface. Ironic that he sometimes worked in one.

He was sure Leon felt guilty, but given the nightmares and trauma he so obviously had, sitting here in the hospital was no-doubt agitating Leon. Post-faceburn, Percy had been triggered by them. It'd taken a lot of work to get over. It worried Percy a little, given how agitated he'd already been earlier, enough to do all of... that. He'd be lying if he said it wasn't still on his mind. This was a Leon he didn't know, and now he was a little wary of him. Still, the two-toned man found himself apologizing. "I'm sorry. I should have told you to wait in the car," he said as he approached, shuffling closer in his house shoes that he was now going to have to burn.

After a brief pause, he spoke again. "Ready to go?" Percy asked, tone as cool and serene as Clover Town's lake. Most might assume that he was putting on a mask to keep Leon calm, but in reality, Percy really was as calm as he seemed. Negative feelings were being packed away as fast as he could feel them, unbeknownst to him, so all he felt was just...normal. So his arm was broken. It happened. Eyeing the bouncing leg with mild concern, he felt some comforting was in order. "Leon, it's alright. It's a clean break so it'll heal fast. I'm okay. If you want, I can even drive us home. One arm is more than enough for me," he said with a crooked smile, more than ready to leave. He didn't want to stay any longer than they already had. If anything, he just wanted to go home and lay down. He had basically no strength left and barely any stamina to walk. As bad as it sounded in his head, he'd be fine if he could just forget this night even happened. Maybe Leon was drunk enough to forget, too. With any luck, his struggling lover had worn himself out as well and might sleep a little. On that note... "Actually, do you want to take to a doctor here before we leave? They might be able to give you something so you can sleep. You...really need to get some sleep."

When Percy came out of that room, Leon ripped his head away from his hands to look at him. At first, he was a little anxious to look him in the eye after seeing that anger twinkle in them before, but he was surprised to find him... just a little exhausted? Seeing the sling and cast, there was no mistake that Leon had hurt him badly enough to disable his arm, albeit only a little, and yet he seemed only... exhausted. Tired. A "Glad that's over" look in his eyes. Something ignited within Leon.

Although they were both disheveled and tired, Percy seemed particularly calm for what had actually happened, unlike Leon. The dark-haired man was just staring at him as if he were speaking another language. He didn't respond to any of the questions he was asking, or acknowledge any of the words he was saying—all Leon could do was stare at him in wide-eyed shock, his marigolds gradually filling with emotion and his pale complexion slowly regaining color. There were dark circles under his eyes, his hair was a mess, he smelled like alcohol, and there were a million things running through his mind. But despite all of this, Leon had a small moment of clarity in the scolding that never came.

"I'll go," Leon suddenly spoke up after a moment of stillness, his head quietly leaning forward into Percy's belly from the bench, "I haven't been very...  good to you, lately. You've gone through so much for me and are always there for me when I need you... even now, I don't know whether to feel like shit or to feel good that you're not yelling at me... even after what I did..." he'd mumble into his stomach, sheepishly wrapping his actual arm around his waist, careful to avoid his cast, "I like you a lot, Percy. I like you so much that... that... I don't know. I just think I'd die if you ever left me, y'know? So... I'll go. To therapy. I don't want to let my own problems keep me from liking you the way I want to... I'll... do better. Okay? I'm sorry, baby."

Somewhere on the line between intoxication and being hungover, coupled with his concussion and tremendous sleep deprivation, Leon ended up getting too comfortable with his face in Percy's belly. He almost dozed off, but when he heard the ding-dong of something over the loudspeaker at reception, he flinched back awake. Interestingly enough, while he never called Percy 'baby', it seemed to be a thing when he was drunk.

"Car. Home. Right," Leon sprung to his feet and began to lead the way down the hall when suddenly he remembered what all had transpired tonight. Percy... probably couldn't walk a lot right now, could he? There wasn't a lot of thought or passion behind their intimacy tonight, but Leon was an aggressive and forceful man in every state he existed in. Pausing, he suddenly made a one-eighty right back towards Percy and bent down, both of his arms outstretched. "I'll carry you. I promise I won't drop you... or break your legs... I'm sorry. And I don't want the—er—doctor, either. I'll sleep on the floor to apologize... or something. I don't know—I like you and I'm sorry... mmph."

The proposition was so embarrassing and ridiculous that it looked like the wild ideas of a sleep-deprived drunk, but just for a moment, a little bit of his banter returned to him. It felt as if for this instance, the real Leon was rekindled just for a bit.

In any case, there was no escaping his guilt and shame. He hurt the one he loved, after all—how couldn't he feel shitty about that? Especially since Percy hadn't said one unkind thing to him, he was left feeling even worse, like he was taking advantage of his kindness and understanding. But through all of the dark thoughts that had been tormenting him these last few days, it looked like breaking his fine china was the wake-up call he needed to do something about how awful he was feeling. He never wanted to hurt him like that again.

...That being said, maybe Percy was on to something. Maybe letting the sleep deprived drunk drive wasn't the... best idea?

Post by Percy 25th February 2021, 9:46 pm

Percy's face lit up a little once he filtered through what Leon was saying. Finally! The youngest Dagger had been all out of options, and it was torture to watch Leon degrade like he was. Plus, he had to sleep soon or he'd... Thank god. Therapy. His free hand raised, tangling in the mess of black hair pressing into his middle. "Okay. I'll call my mother's therapist in the morning then and make an appointment," he said simply, his voice soft and pleased. With some work and a little luck, maybe they would be on the road back to their normal soon. It was nice to see a little of his Leon come back into the picture, even if it was brought on by his arm breaking in his new, shiny hand. Again with those silver linings. It was also nice to hear the apology and affirmation that he did still have feelings for the scientist. Even knowing the recent behavior was from the trauma, it was hard to remind yourself after a while. He wasn't sure how he felt about the 'baby', though. He'd probably have a little more clarity on it if it hadn't only just started, so Percy would have to wait and see if it was a trauma thing, a drunk thing, or a relationship thing.

It was a shame they were standing where they were. For a second he was sure that Leon had fallen asleep with his face buried in his stomach, but he soon flinched, jumped up, and started speaking again. He watched as Leon rushed past him, slowly turning to follow at the fastest speed he could muster, which was admittedly so slow that it was yet another embarrassing thing about this hospital visit. He was so sore. Even with the pain meds, it had just been so much so fast and so rough for someone very unused to it. However, as Leon whirled and knelt down, Percy found himself snorting out a laugh through his nose. Normally there was no way in heck he'd agree to be carried like that, even if he was dying. But, to chill Percy who was absolutely obliterated with physical exhaustion...it didn't seem like such a bad idea. Especially when he babbled all cutely like that. Poor Leon's brain was as frazzled as Percy's body. Allowing himself to ease into the offered arms, he slung his good arm around the man's neck. His lover may have promised not to drop him, but...you could never be too careful, considering Leon's condition. "Yeah, breaking my legs too would be very inconvenient, though at least we're already here," he joked as he was carried out the exit. "And you don't have to sleep on the floor. You just might have to switch sides of the bed so I can reach you with my good arm," he said, and with that, he was carried to the driver's side of the car and the two drove home to get some rest.
