May There be Peace Empty May There be Peace

Post by Cetus 2nd November 2019, 4:27 pm

The sun lay above the horizon. The night was hinting at its eventual takeover of the sky. Peace village was lazily winding its way down after a long day. A few people moved about the streets. Some gathered within town hall. Townsfolk had also put up a few lights. Posters hung everywhere announcing the arrival of a carnival. And on the edge of town, leaning against a fence was a dark figure.

Cetus adjusted the tie around his neck. His body felt strange, a result of the various disguises in place. Some were cosmetic. Some were technological. He'd been experimenting on it for days before applying it to himself. His skin was a deep, almost black, blue. Azure highlights outlined his brow and eyes. A few more were placed strategically in his now black hair. His eyes were little more than pools of black with pinpricks of white. His body was gripped by a white collared shirt and a pair of black slacks. The appearance was offsetting enough to cause many to avoid him. A couple walked across the street merely to keep from walking past him. That made him smile, revealing the shark's teeth that filled his mouth. Everything - other than his partner for this... fun - was in place.

    "Flowers."
My designation is Persephone. What do you wish of me?
Cetus' smile grew wider. This was his favorite part. The world would witness this debut. The Magic Council could no longer ignore Dubhar's existence. This was also a great chance to try out his creations. "Create new persona. Name: Dubhar. Disposition: Draw up everything we have on Baird, Jester, Deam, and sufficiently similar characters. Mix them together."
New persona 'Dubhar' created. Link to current appearance?[i]
"Confirm and override current personality. Time set: 5 hours before reversion."
[i]Confirmed, downloading 'Dubhar'. Reversion in 5 hours.

Dubhar took a deep breath through his nose. Ah, what a wonderful day to be alive! The carnival was today. All they needed was his arranged musician to appear! Dubhar kicked up his legs. His hands came out of his pockets. "Hey! Don't stay out too late lovebirds! The Carnival is coming!" The couple hurried away. Rude. Whatever, they'd enjoy the show later. Now, where was Baird the bard? He was late! Dubhar tapped his bare wrist, shaking his head slowly. Tut-tut, the carnival should be on time! They needed to bring happiness to these people.

The Music Man Comes To Play

The green haired musician was making his way towards Peace Village, and was taking a deep breath as he held his hands behind his head. He was bored lately. With this boredom, he accepted going to some carnival with someone he didn’t know. Or the musician at least didn’t remember them. Whichever was the case here. He walked through the town and pulled out his lute, strumming a random, upbeat tune on it. As he played the lute, he was skipping in tune with the song and happy for himself for once.

Of course, this man was not silent. Nothing about him was. Never. Not even his wife could when she was alive. He gripped the lute tighter and gritted his teeth as he started to play his tune a little harder. He was getting himself really into his music now. He needed a distraction. The music was the best way for him to distract himself. As he skipped around, he knew peoples heads were starting to turn at the sound of his lovely music from the beautiful seashell lute. Anyone who was anyone would have heard him by now. He passed by some posters about some carnival, and he assumed that was what it was that he was going to be going to or whatever. He hoped it was worth his time. He got close to the designated area for the meeting, and continued to play his song.

He was starting to attract a small group and he smirked as he glanced up from between the locks of his green hair. He gave his charming smile to the ladies, and they seemed to all blush simultaneously. He struck their hearts with just a smile. Soon, his song ended, and he stood up, taking a bow, glancing towards the hat that was placed down in front of him. Some people had tossed some jewels in it for the song and were happily walking away. The song wasn’t supposed to be that cherry, but he would take it. His eyes caught something out of the corner of them, and he glanced over his shoulder to the wall behind him. There was another poster there about the carnival. Puffing up his cheeks, the musician sighed. “Welp, guess I’m late to the carnival.” He shrugged his shoulders as he didn’t really care. He wasn’t sure if he actually was late or not, probably cutting it close if luck had it his way. But he bet his partner would scold him regardless. Not that it mattered. He’ll just lure them in sweetly like he usually did.

May There be Peace Empty Re: May There be Peace

Post by Cetus 12th February 2020, 8:14 pm

Dubhar cackled wickedly as the music of a lute reached his ears. "The music sways the soul! Let wings grow and lift us into the sky!" He cried out. Several lingering people hurried away from him. The psycho chuckled to himself. They'd join the Carnival soon enough. The music and the clown would draw them in. It would wrap them up. Eat them alive until it spit them back out the other side. Burned up by the Carnival. Dubhar giggled. It was time to collect the bard.

The blue man skipped toward the sound of music. He saw a few people crowded around the bard. They were tossing jewels on him. What a waste, what a waste. Dubhar pitied these fools. Let them be swept away by the Carnival. Dubhar waited for them all to disperse. They'd all be meeting each other again. Jewels were worthless. His hands twitched. A black flame jumped to life in the palm of his hand. The Carnival should have started. The infidels should be burning. Dubhar brought the fireball up to his lips and blew. It went out, blowing smoke across a few people walking by. He gave them a smile as they coughed and glared.

Dubhar bounced over to Baird. Slinging an arm across the bard, the psycho patted his chest. "The swan is here! Let him sing his glorious song! Let fireworks unleash the night sky! The Carnival must begin! Let fun swallow this town!" He cackled, stepping away from the bard. All the pieces were in place. Ribbons of fire billowed out behind Dubhar. His blue hair transformed into ethereal flames wreathing his head. "The king of hell and his bard have arrived! Let the Carnival in his honor commence!" The fire exploded, rippling toward the houses. The black fire hungrily alighted upon the buildings. It started devouring everything it touched. "Come, bard! Play me some music!" Dubhar shouted as people started screaming.

May There be Peace Empty Re: May There be Peace

Post by Faulkner 21st June 2020, 9:58 pm

music and sound goes hand in hand,
They're loud and beautiful, just like me.
beware, beware, the music man likes to play

The musician played till the crowd disbursed, enjoying having people drool over him once again. He looked over as he smelled smoke and reached into his pocket for a little handkerchief to cover his mouth with so the smoke wouldn’t come towards him. As he had seen someone come up to him, he made a little bit of a face. Who was it he was supposed to be meeting. When he was touched by this newcomer, the musician had half a mind to smack his lute on this man. Though… this man could also be looking for a fun time. With a smirk, he raised an eyebrow, ready to speak when the other had. “E-what?” He says as he chuckles.

He watched as the other’s hair changed to fire, or was surrounding it, he couldn’t quite tell fully as he looked down to his instrument. “I am no one's bard, especially for a ‘king’… but I am indeed a bard.” He tells the other before the fire explodes. He raised an eyebrow as he snorts, getting rid of his lute while summoning a glass looking saxophone with scorch marks on the end. “So this is how the carnival has their fun. Don’t mind if I join in on this.” He put the mouthpiece to his lips before he let out a couple toots to make sure the instrument was working properly for him. After he was sure it would work good, he shook his shoulders and started blowing excitedly into his instrument while rocking his hips and shoulders and slightly dancing to the tune he was playing.

As the music went on, Baird seemed to summon forth three little glowing minions of fire as he tooted away on his saxophone. He had his eyes closed ever so delicately as he was off in his own world of music, but it didn’t seem to phase the little fire minions as they split up and went out their own ways around Peace Village. His music rang loud and the little fire minions hopped about from place to place as they raced after people. They very clearly had the intent to burn the hell out of this village as he plays. Every time the musician hit a higher note, the little creatures seemed to burn even brighter.

Shrieks and the sound of feet running away. It was great. What more could one ask for? This oddly reminded him of back in Iceberg, in the orphanage he had been in all them years ago. The revolting nuns he lived with. The exasperating children that he was often associated with. Both were terrible to be around and listen to daily. Especially when they tried to become his buddies or tell him how to do things and get mad when he didn’t do it like they did. He growls softly to himself and toots the saxophone louder to let the little fire minions have a fury of fire where each of them stood. That was the same thing he had done to the orphanage back then. He didn’t have control of his magic then. But it was fine. It solved his problems. He wasn’t hurt anymore. And he schmoozed the rest of the way by flirting with people.

It was honestly a miracle that he survived in Iceberg all those years. At least since then he was able to be great without being held back. He was the best musician the world would ever see. He brought himself back to the present and was summoning back his minions at the end of the song. They were going to make another display for his next act, one that would be worthy of a talent show. “What all is this beautiful carnival about anyways?” He questions as he removes the mouthpiece momentarily. He was wetting his lips and working on sucking in some air. He needed more music. And the louder, the better.

May There be Peace Empty Re: May There be Peace

Post by Cetus 3rd October 2020, 1:32 pm

Dubhar let a maniacal grin grace his face. Of course the bard belonged to no one. Whoever had said otherwise was an idiot. "I agree the king is such a bastard, claiming people like that. We should tear him off his throne. Build a new governing power of Hell: The Dictatorship of Hell. The Autocracy of hell. The Hellish Democracy." Dubhar clapped his hands. "A project for another time. Today is the day for the Carnivel!"

Dubhar thoroughly enjoyed Bairds first display of magic. Fire held a place deep in his heart. So beautiful and warm were flames, a perfect dichotomy of grace and danger. The world would eventually be consumed by flames. Of that, he was sure. For now, he let the bard take center stage. This night wasn't about him. It was about the Carnival. A beautiful masterpiece that would blanket the village.

The bard asked about the Carnival. Dubhar spread his arms wide and spun around. "Why, my dear bard, it is a Carnival of Understanding, of love, and the sharing of culture. The people of this village have seldom known hardship. I wish to grant them a better understanding of Pain and Suffering. They'll grow to Love it and the two of us will share a culture of trauma with them like they've never known." Dubhar cackled again. He tipped an imaginary hat toward Baird before sprinting off into the burning village.

The first people he came upon were a couple. The man wrapped his arms around the woman and they huddled against a hut. It wasn't burning yet. Dubhar would fix that soon. "Ah, young love! Such a warming sight!" The couple regarded him with fearful eyes. Dubhar gave them a grin. "Shall we put your love to the test?" The assassin grabbed the man by the throat and threw him into the hut. Snapping his fingers, black chains of fire wrapped around the man. They anchored him to the floor. A casual wave of Dubhar's hand set the hut alight. The dark mage looked at the woman. "Save him." He said before prancing away.

An older couple would be Dubhar's next Carnival game. He'd passed a few other villagers running to and fro. They looked like they were trying to put out the flames. Dubhar had zeroed in on the couple. They seemed like the classic 'always together' couple. Dubhar smiled snapping his fingers. A tongue of black flame wrapped around their necks, connecting them together. He politely handed them knives. "The flames will brun slowly through your necks, infecting your bloodstreams, and burning you alive eternally unless one of you kills the other. I can't wait to see how long you last. Have fun!" He left the couple staring at each other in horror.

Dubhar looked around after leaving the couple. Where had his bard gotten off to? He had need of music! These villagers were screaming so loudly. "Bard? Bard! Where have you gotten off to?" He shouted, looking around. "Please drown out the screams, bard man. They're are giving me a headache and quite frankly ruining my Carnival!" He stomped his foot. How dare they?! They should be laughing with delight! Reveling in the flames! Enjoying the music! This was the Carnival! By all the gods, didnt these people know how to have fun?

    May There be Peace BwV6wyW
Boom Boom Pow! His Music goes real LOUD!

A smirk slowly spread across the green haired mans lips as he listened to his blue skinned fire companion. He wasn’t too keen on calling him a ‘friend’ just yet, but he would wait and see in due time what this being would be called to him. He kind of raised an eyebrow when the other explained what a carnival was after he had let out his first song to the people. He put a hand to his chin, lightly rubbing it as he thought, but he snorted and shrugged his shoulders. This would be fun regardless he figured. He licked his lips and took in a deep breath of air before putting his lips on his saxophone once again while his partner had wandered off to do whatever. The cries he heard in the direction he went off gave him a small hint of what he was doing.

He started tooting away at his saxophone with another upbeat tune. The little fire minions came alive once more for him as he danced around to this folk sounding song. He tapped his foot on the ground in tune with the song before he let the sax go on his own and he let his voice ring out on occasion, sax going on it’s own as he sang in his lavish voice. The people at this carnival around him looked towards him in fear. They had heard his saxophone playing before, and some had seen his destruction with the little fire minions. Now he was singing. What good could happen from someone singing? Especially in a forgein language?!

As his voice rang out, along with his clapping to the tune of the saxophone, the sound of his voice seemed to hit people physically. The little fire minions seemed to giggle as they clapped as well and touched some people, setting more people on fire as they did so. He was singing his song on repeat a few times, sometimes singing, sometimes playing his saxophone himself, sometimes just clapping while the saxophone played on it’s own. He thought of bringing out more gadgets, making a little board with shiny lights on it appear. He started clicking buttons on the board, and suddenly it started blasting out some little lasers in various directions. It was like a light show going in tune with the music.

A few people may have been hit by the colorful lights and fallen down, but the musician didn’t care. He heard his name being called out, but he had a feeling it wasn’t exactly his name name that was being said with the tone of voice. He glanced over to where his companion was, and listened to his request to drown out the screams. A grin was on his face as he heard that. “Drown out the screams? I dunno… it seems like it’d be a challenge.” He cackles aloud.

He then puts the little light board away and summons forth a guitar the shape of an axe. He began shredding on the guitar and brought the saxophone to his lips to play it while he rocked on his guitar. The gloriousness that was Baird playing two instruments at once was a spectacle to see. As he tooted his horn and played with his guitar, vines started breaking out from the ground and stabbing through some people. He was playing both instruments rather loudly, making the vines be faster, and the fire minions be brighter and have bigger flames. He didn’t care if he was even ‘too loud’ for the other man, he was asked to be loud, he was going to be loud. While he played though, he thought of how he needed a drum set now. Just to complete his one man band and orchestra deal! It was needed. Hands down.

Post by Cetus 17th April 2021, 7:21 pm

Baird set quite the scene with his tunes. Dubhar wasn't quite sure if the saxophone was to his liking but a little grating of the ear was in line with the Carnival! The psycho pranced about, randomly lighting houses on fire. However, the people weren't appreciating his games. They screamed as more fire burst forth. They sobbed when he plucked them from the crowd. Some had the audacity to hit him when he tried to take their loved ones. Perhaps, he should enlighten them to the ways of the Methmother. They didn't deserve her embrace but their screams were ruining his fun. Even with Baird's delightful music, he could hear their screams.

The assassin snatched a man from the crowd. Well, not a man, more like a small child. A couple cowered nearby. Dubhar looked from the boy to the couple. The mother was in the features. The father, tense and ready to fight, was not. His evil grin stretched nearly to his ears. Sharp pointed teeth lined that smile. His blue flame of hair burned low near his skull. Carefully, the assassin set the boy down. He turned the young one to face his parents. "Now. I have in mind, a game. This one..." Dubhar petted the boy's head. The boy flinched away, terrified. "Will be the subject of that game... unless..." He pointed at the mother. She jerked back eyes wide. "You tell the truth about his paternity." The man shouted angrily but Dubhar saw it. The doubt, that little niggling in his brain that had probably haunted him since the child's birth. Dubhar petted the boy's face, his fingertips digging into skin. Shallow marks were left behind. The mother screamed. As Dubhar moved to repeat, she began babbling. She'd slept with multiple men that could be the father. She couldn't possibly know who the father might actually be. The assassin chuckled as the husband's face fell. He threw the boy toward the couple before moving on. Today was a good day. It was the Carnival!

A pair of twins caught his eye next. They seemed to be calmly walking through the panicking crowds. Their hands darted out to steal from those that passed them. Dubhar's eyebrow arched. They dared to steal during the Carnival? They couldn't have that. He worked his way up behind them. When the assassin stepped past, one of them slipped a hand into his pocket. The assassin grabbed the wrist. His fingers flexed and a strip of skin came loose. Blood spurted, coating his hand. "They say twins are one spare and one original. I hope you know which one you are." He said, hoisting the girl up. She dangled limply in his grasp. A blade flashed in the hands of the other twin. Dubhar giggled, pulling free a hand of white powder. He blew it in the face of his attacker. She coughed once and fell limply to the ground. Dubhar giggled again as he placed the sister next to her drugged twin. "Beg her to save you." He murmured. Black chains locked into place around the injured twin. Within arms reach of the drugged one, Dubhar created a jet black key. Then he surrounded the two with a ring of fire. No one would interrupt his game.

Amidst his merry making, the psychotic shark lost track of his musician. He spun each way to look for the man. Cupping his hands together, Dubhar shouted "Where are you, Bard of Song? These people seem not to be enjoying the Carnival! Shall we convene for a strategy meeting?" His nose picked up a peculiar scent. One of purity and justice. A scent that filled him with rage. He turned slowly to behold the angel that had descended from on high. Below it, the summoner stood in the street. He was a young lad, his magic probably unlocked by this event. His brow was covered in sweat and his left arm bore severe burns. Tears yet gathered in his eyes. A defiant look. One that Dubhar wanted to nurture, to strengthen until the lad came to face him again. Then he would utterly crush the boy. Flashes of light in nearby streets let the assassin know similar things were happening nearby. He hoped the Bard hadn't been caught by one.

The shark looked coolly upon the boy standing before him. "You overestimate your strength, boy. There is little that angel might do to me." The boy gestured with his right hand. The angel moved to attack. Dubhar snapped his fingers. A column of fire enveloped the angel. It lasted only a moment before disappearing in a flash of light. The boy looked on in disbelief. Dubhar chuckled, dusting his hands off. "I'm a God Slayer, kid. This level of being is nothing to be. I've eaten gods. Killed their servants, played with their priests. You can't even compare to my strength. Now, run along, little one. Come back when you're stronger." The boy raised his right hand once more. Dubhar moved, appearing behind the boy. His back pressed against the young man's. "I'm faster than you." He moved to a building and pulverized the brick corner with a fist wreathed in black fire. "Stronger than you." A man ran at Dubhar with a knife. The assassin let it hit. The knife broke at the hilt and didn't leave a mark. "More durable. Leave and face me when you're stronger." Dubhar grasped his attacker by the neck. His mouth opened wider than should have been possible. The attacker jerked, trying to escape. A thick pink purple mist poured from the man's mouth. It flowed into Dubhar's. When the assassin dropped the man, he was little more than a husk.

The shark man looked around. The boy was gone. The fires raged down the streets. The Carnival was in full swing. However, people weren't enjoying themselves. They weren't finding the love in their suffering. Learning was the whole purpose of this day. He really needed to find his music man. The bard would surely have a solution to this travesty.

Boom Boom Pow! His Music goes real LOUD!

He played till the second tune ended. He cackled at how the people were running from the fire that his little minions created. This was so much fun now that he had gotten the chance to settle down and play to his hearts desire. He would have liked it if he had been on a stage like he once had been with Jester, but this is just as fine. A carnival is where many people join in the masses like a fancy theater, but it was quite alright. He heard him being called for once again, taking a deep breath before he summoned the saxophone back to his fingers and started playing another upbeat tune. He was swaying from side to side as he walked and tooted his horn towards where his sharky partner was. He still didn’t know who the guy was.

Compared to the other songs, this one was smoother, but it was able to be played louder and easier by any amateur saxophonist. He would play happily as he made his way to the man. Along the way, the saxophone would belt out the little fire minions that would chase after people. Of course the ones that touched them would set their clothes on fire. The little fire minions seemed to also go for anything else that was flammable. The carnival tents, animal hay, any random cloths, grass, trees. If it was flammable, they went after it. No one was safe from these sweet little fire demons.

As he was playing his saxophone, he noticed lights in the sky, and saw… angels? Angels were coming down? The hell! Why were these people summoning those devils?! Baird snarled as he furrowed his brows while he played his saxophone again. He looked towards the end of the light on the ground. Some lame ass person with their arms out, burnt here and there, looking up at the sky with their eyes closed as they looked at peace. Fuck. Just his luck, huh? This little shit was the cause of this disaster for him. He had to go to new measures now to secure his fun.

Finishing the song, the musician let the saxophone and guitar disappear in thin air before he held out his hand again. A curved stick formed in his hand before a long blade and barely visible strings connecting the two materialized. On the back end of the blade unfurled an angels wing fit for the size of the scythe. He grinned as he stabbed the ground with the butt of the scythe, making it so it could lean against him before he started to play a rather heavy tune. He cackled as he began strumming more and more.

“Angels are the devils who hurt my soul~!” He started shouting rather loudly while he cackled. It was actually more sung just enough with the music that he was playing. As he played, many spears of light started to form around him. The spears zipped through the air and stabbed themselves, multiple times, into the angel. The look on the angels face when the musician did that with an angel's instrument, was absolutely priceless. Baird couldn’t wait to play it again. He continued to play, trying to lure the other angels to him. He didn’t care. All who came attacking him would be shot with the spears of light if they weren’t here to listen to him play.

The angel’s appearances soured his mood greatly. But it gave him a chance to get back once again at the church as the ‘God’ of the land had abandoned him in the hellhole once upon a time. He needed to make his mark happily on these pieces of crap light beings who are no better than devils of their religions. His eyes were mostly closed as his fingers literally fluttered and lightly smacked the strings of the harp scythe.

A moment later though, he grinned devilishly before he yanked the instrument off of the ground, holding it in both of his hands and seeming ready to use it. “Angels, hear my harmonious cry! I call to ask for you all, in the name of the gracious god, the heavenly father of love and mercy, the grandouis being who willingly lets children be harmed by followers of him, to fucking die~!” His sickeningly sweet voice had been amplified to reach out across the carnival here to call the angels around him. It was safe to honestly say that he hated the angels and religion as a whole. One could only imagine the surface of what he had gone through to get as upset as he was at them.
