The Not so Mysterious Murder (Job w/ Hiru)

Another day, another job. It was true, Madi had become more accustomed to doing jobs, now that she had to work for her money, but some of them really just were... Bizarre. First was getting fake married, and now a murder mystery game late at night? Why she was being paid for something like this, she didn't know, but hey, money was money. Especially when she had expensive taste. According to the job listing, her and some other wizards were to be security for the night, making sure that during this 24 hour "game," nobody actually got hurt. That seemed easy enough. As the cotton candy haired woman walked up to the inn, a pit formed in her stomach. Something about this place in the pitch black of night was quite unsettling. That must have been the feel they were going for, after all, but still. Was this really a safe setting for something like this? Gulping and attempting to shrug it off, she entered, pushing the creaking door open before entering.

It was pretty dark inside as well, aside from the dim candlelight that danced against the walls. In the middle of the lobby stood a large table, with chairs lining each edge. It would seem that they had accommodated for quite a few people. Madi wondered how many would be showing up for this. The more there were, the harder it would be to keep track of them all and make sure that they were safe. Maybe she wasn't the best person for this job... It seemed like a lot of work, and not for very much jewel either, she might add. Stepping up to the table, she looked around, not seeing any guests yet. Perhaps she had arrived a bit too early? Well, better to be early than late, right?

Just as she was about to have a seat on one of the comfy looking chairs, someone entered the lobby, a warm smile adorning their soft face. It was an elderly woman, no younger than 60, a tight bun on top of her head, and a cane in her right hand.

"Welcome, dear! Are you here for the game? Or perhaps you are one of the security guards we hired for the evening?" The woman drawled. Nodding and smiling, Madi responded.

"Hello ma'am! I'm one of the mages you hired for security. How many of us will there be? And do you know how many guests will be attending?" She inquired, trying to get a feel for how many people she would have to chase after all night.

"Well, there should be two other mages joining you. As for the guests, we are expecting about 20. There could be more or less."

Madi became the human embodiment of sweatfear when she heard this. 20 people? And only 3 people to run after them? This sure was going to be a busy night...
