Ah, the thrills of urban night life! Well, not really since Era was anything but, though the event surely wasn't putting that observation to bed. The party of Rune Knights, headed by the ever cute and smart Exceed twins in human form, would make their way across the way and make a sharp left turn by the bakery. Both girls would be pressed in their usual relaxed garb, deciding to save the majority of the better outfits for another occasion. The music pumping out from the event site was loud enough that they likely could make out the lyrics the moment their feet left the sanctuary of the Rune Knights headquarters. "Man, it sure is hot out here, huh?" Grappa commented while walking in tandem with her sister and their (not really) underlings. Despite how strict and formal the two gave off when doing important things, they were generally laid back when it came to others outside the Engineering Department. Jellisha spun around to the others behind her while walking backwards to keep up the pace with her peppy sibling. "So when we get there, just do whatever you want. It's time off, so have fun. Just don't do anything that might embarrass the guild or anything. We'll be investigating the food table for signs of poisoning if you need us."

    BONK!

Jellisha spun around just in time to walk headfirst into one of the lampposts in the city. She grabbed the place where the impact had happened and would spin around out of embarrassment while Grappa could only snicker to herself out of her sister's actions. While trying to be the more serious of the two, she still had a long ways to go before the whole "bad ass female leader" trope could stick to her. The red faced co-leader of the group would mutter to herself and let the people behind her to themselves. By the time they reached the staging area, that being one of the outside venues that doubled as a stage for plays and such. The bright lights and with the usual expressions of awe and excitement whenever it came time for another festival. Even Jellisha's typical stoic gaze had decided to take the day off while her eyes bounced across all the different activities there were to be at this location. "Alright, guys! Spread out and have some fun!"

With the others dispersing or going against what they said, Grappa and Jellisha found themselves going over towards the staging area of beverages and food. Their small feet pitter pattered over towards the table and got on towards sampling some of the small little dishes left out for guests to snack on them. There were little dips and chips, those weird chocolate things that came filled with a bunch of disgusting flavors outside of caramel, and even a hamburger bar (though fish was sadly not on the menu, much to their dismay). "Oh, Jelli! Do you think that they have super cute places to get more sweets at? This table really sucks..." Grappa wiped her mouth of the last of the stuffed chocolate treats onto her wrist and made a disgusted expression. Mint was awful! Only villains and evildoers liked mint. Her sibling peered up from her exploration into the fountain to then quickly rejoin Grappa's side.

"Bleh, nothing here." she crossed her arms in a huff. "I did see a bunch of drinks over that way though. Let's go see if they're any good." Jellisha led the way with Grappa peddling down beside her while investigating the strange drinks lined up in a fancy pyramid shape near the far end of the bar. A quick sniff didn't detect much of anything harmful in them just yet. A bartender came round with a friendly smile, beckoning towards both girls. "Evening, Generals. Might we offer you a very special drink for the night?" Both girls would nod their head in agreement to the question, affirming with a solid, "Yes, please." The man behind the counter had a glint of mischief in his eyes, turning around to whip around a cocktail of drinks and ingredients to hand over to both girls.

The tonic that had been prepared for the two would be a nice lavender color, the liquid settled beneath a whole group of cyan colored ice cubes to keep the drink chilled. Two cups were presented to each girl as the man would smile at them both. "Please enjoy! Remember not to drink too much, now!" Both girls looked a bit curious about the selection and then to each other to see who would play the guinea pig for this one. After a quiet few seconds or so, Jellisha would groan to herself. "Fine! You're such a baby some times..." She raised the cup to her lips and took a nice and long sip...

"Hey, this isn't half bad." Jellisha smirked. "Kinda tastes like this grandma candies that people have now." Grappa gave her sister a look and tried it out for herself. "Oh, it does! Awesome!" They continued to sip on the drink for a few minutes while roaming around. Very slowly, they would start to change as the music just sounded louder, a smile painted on each General's face. They would both feel incredible, a feeling beyond words! Like they were walking on sunshine!

    "Do you feel-"
"Like dancing until we drop dead?"
    "Yeah, and then we can-"
    "Finish each other's sentences!"
"What? No, I mean like find more of this stuff."

The twins were busy getting their minds blown by the beverage given to them by that shady looking bartender again before their eyes caught on to a strange, metal like noise coming on from a bit further away in the block party. "You hear that?" Jellisha asked, not even waiting for her sister's confirmation to tug her along the ground at a speed which was almost on par with a child hyped up on a sugar rush...which technically they were. The two came to a halt in front of a sectioned off square nearby while a man on a set of drums would be going to town on his instrument of choice. The drumsticks hit the instrument at a rapid pace as a symphony of colors would be blown into the air with every strike of the sticks. "Paint drums, huh?" Grappa asked, tilting her head while the demonstration was given. After about a few minutes or so, the performance came to a close and the man, covered from head to toe in every color imaginable, would place his sticks on dash of the drums and leave as his turn was over. A nearby announcer with a microphone would come up behind it with a microphone as he attempted to maintain the interest of the crowd. "Give it up for him! Who's up for being our next tester of the paint drum folks?"

Grappa's hand shot straight up in the air, as if volunteering for an important mission back home. "Oh, memememeeme! Me!" The man in charge looked a bit puzzled to see literal children at an event like this though the uniform of the guild would have settled any kind of dispute about the circumstances of why. "Alright! Give it up for our next lil' maestro!" The cheerful girl bounced on up to the drum set and sat down in front of her sound makers. Sure there was the fact that she had never touched a drum before but that didn't stop Grappa from going to town. It was a slow start at first but eventually the girl found her beat as paint splattered across the surface around her, including on her clothing and face. But the beats were interrupted when a drunken reveler would accidentally fall onto the drum set during her play and crush the majority of the set. Grappa had been spared from this fate, leaning to the left at the right second just as the body behind her would make impact. With the instrument in pieces, the staff member would look stunned and would looked back to the crowd with a sorrowful gaze. "Uh, it looks like our test has ran into, uh...some complications..." he said, tapping his foot lightly on the surface of a drum as barely any paint would spill out. "At least...give it up for our lil' drummer girl over here!" There came a bit of applause for Grappa, who would take a bow before rejoining her sister for more fun and games.

After that colorful excursion of the paint drums, the twins would be winding down for the evening. The group they had brought here would have to be around here somewhere, but where exactly that could be would be the question. There were a handful of stations and activities and they could be at any one of these junctions. So like the good Generals-In-Training they were, it was up to them to corral them all back to the headquarters. "I can't see anything in this crowd." Grappa said with a smile on her face still, the effects of the drink still lingering in her system while her sibling would have the same effect. It was a bit aggravating, especially for somebody like Jellisha who smiled fairly rarely, but certainly not intrusive to the mission here. The girls pushed past people, one wet of paint and leaving a rainbow trail of mess in her wake while the other one would be much too busy with forcing her way through and leaving room for the other girl to follow. Eventually they came across a great dance floor with more or less everybody in the city dancing on it. Grappa squinted her eyes and would gaze along the floor before pointing her hand towards the far left side near one of the speakers. "Found 'em!" The group in question would be with some finely dressed women who seemed intent and dancing the night away with the group. Above them, the DJ Booth would be empty while another one of the event staff would be on top, spinning records for his adoring public down below. "Well, how do we get them out then?" Jellisha asked, crossing her arms in frustration. She thought to herself about the previous staff member near the paint drums and how they would be in need of volunteers before the drums were crushed beneath some guy's butt. So there was a good chance that the DJ would be searching for people to try their hand at this place too. "We just gotta be the first ones up the moment he asks for volunteers." Jellisha replied.

Sure enough, after another set of songs, the man inside of the booth would get on the microphone. His voice was much more energetic than the other employee's voice. "Alright, boys and girls. It's time to let one of you lucky partiers to come up and try their hand at spinnin' these records. Don't worry if it looks hard, cuz I'm gunna-"

He was interrupted by two flying Exceed zooming across the floor and into the booth almost instantly. Both girls would shift back into their human disguises and offer him a sweet yet peppy "Hello! We wanna give it a shot." The DJ brushed his hat off which had gotten precariously close to falling off but obliged both girls and took them into the booth above. "It's pretty simple, just choose a song on that player in the middle, hit play and then feel free to mess with the dials. You'll figure it out!" Jellisha was up first, going from track to track in an attempt to search for any kind of interesting song name that caught here eye. She just stuck with one after a few seconds of looking while Grappa would get on the disc thingies! "Oooh, so then we just gotta do..." Her hand spun the rotating part around as the song's start would burst from the speakers, the bass causing everything in the room to shake as if an earthquake was happening. "Ahhhhh, too loud!" Grappa stumbled, flicking any kind of switch to try and get the volume to go down. A dial hit her thumb as the noise was quieted down to a level where their eardrums wouldn't be burst while the two looked out at the swarm of people dancing. "Hey, we're doing it!...I think?" They looked back at the employee who gave a thumbs up. "You got it! Just feel the rhythm and go with what you think is right. When that bass drops, just turn up that dial all the way on the bottom right." The wind up was coming, and Jellisha would go on her side and move along, trying to find the dial in question and then slightly turning it towards the right. The sound erupted from the speakers as the baseline hit and people went into a frenzy. The twins looked at one another and smiled. "Wanna stay for a bit longer? Maybe the others deserve a break?" Grappa asked.

Jellisha could only nod, unable to shake how much fun she was having now. "Y-Yeah. Maybe for another minute. Or hour. Or night..."
