-Outskirts of Capital Crocus, early evening-
Wearing a simple green t-shirt, black skirt, and white tennis shoes, Victoria got into the long line of a mix of people in rave gear, cyberpunk attire, and more casually dressed party-goers snaking into the outskirts of Capital Crocus. There she got in line behind some blonde chick in a white tank top and dangerously short black miniskirt kissing a brown-haired chick in a black tube top and short blue jean shorts. Both of them smelled like alcohol, the cheap kind that one drank just to get a buzz. It smelled like they had been drinking cheap beer before they decided to go to the Urban Nights party.
Lightweights.
Victoria had drank a fifth of Albino Gander vodka and was not feeling a thing. That meant that she was sober enough not to do anything stupid that would drag Sabertooth's name through the mud and get the Rune Knights on her case. Since this event was sanctioned and sponsored by the Magic Council, the Rune Knights would not be too quick to dispense a sanctimonious speech if Victoria drank a bit too much... not that that would happen.
Three cheers for a high alcohol tolerance built up thanks to her adopted father introducing her to vodka.
The brunette was not sure if she should be proud of that, but a high alcohol tolerance definitely had its uses. For one thing, she could drink a lot of macho men under the table and win a few bets for some extra money whenever Jewels got tight. For another thing, she could drink whatever was offered at the party and remain upright to partake in the festivities. Speaking of festivities, she could already hear the music pounding from the town outskirts. It was a mix of electronic, dubstep, and other music fitting for a party called "Urban Nights." Up ahead they were even passing out glowsticks to attendees.
Victoria already liked the look of this party. She liked the music, the costumes, and the glowsticks that were in abundance. This party was interesting enough to make being in Capital Crocus tolerable.
The line began to move forward at a surprising pace and eight minutes later the kissing couple ahead of her separated long enough to get their entry stamps and choose the color of glowsticks before holding hands and getting lost in the crowd. Victoria shuffled forward and was spoken to by a young woman with rainbow-colored pigtails and pink cyberpunk gear.
"Hi sweetie! Welcome to Urban Nights in Capital Crocus! What color of glowstick would you like?" The young woman asked, holding out a wide assortment of glowsticks in a large variety of colors for Victoria to see. Victoria looked through them until she found a green one, then claimed the green glowstick.
"I'd like green, thanks." Victoria answered. She held onto it with her left hand and was given an entry stamp on the back of her left hand.
"Have fun at the party!" The young woman wished Victoria. The brunette nodded and made a beeline for an outdoor bar where drinks were being dispensed. It was roughly 125 meters from her current position, but she wanted to see what kind of alcohol the party had before the outdoor bars got too busy for her to get a drink. Any party worth its salt had to have some good drinks on tap.
