    Special Deliveries Empty Special Deliveries

How had she been drawn in to this again? One minute, she had been standing outside a local betting shop and the next, she was playing delivery girl for the owner of the place. It had all happened so fast but Miranda had simply gone along with it. He was offering a lot of jewels for such a simple task and she could never say no to that. So, she found herself sprinting through the streets of Crocus towards a nightclub named Boomslang. Not a place she had visited before but its reputation spoke for itself. Apparently, it was a bit of madhouse which did not bother her in the slightest.

Reaching the place, Miranda entered without a second thought and soon was having to battle her way through the drunken yobs in order to reach the bar. It was a busy night indeed and more than once did she feel a foreign hand trying to either get a grip on her or her money, however, she was in no mood tonight and after the first couple of tries, she started to get a little more aggressive with her reactions. One poor fool pushed her a little too far and not only did she catch his hand but she sharply forced it back on itself, resulting in a snap and a howl of pain from the drunk. God, men could be absolute pigs sometimes and the blue haired mage was sorely tempted just to blast the place to pieces. She managed to reign in this feeling for now though and simply carried on with her job although she made a mental note to return to the place later and put the drunks in their place.

By the time she reached the bar, she was more than a tad annoyed and the barkeep wasted no time in hurrying to the back and giving her the documents that she wanted. With that, she turned away and made her way back out, the drunks having learned their lesson and moving out of her way. She was briefly stopped though by a girl, obviously drunk and clearly out of it. her clothes showing the signs of a rowdy night. Miranda paused and then led her back towards the bar, sitting her on one of the stools and telling the barkeep to keep an eye on her, promising to return for her later. The bunny girl cared little for men but she felt rather more sympathy for females and could see what would happen to the girl if she remained in the nightclub. Miranda had her magic to fend the idiots off but what did this girl have? Nothing.

Once that was settled, Miranda then made her way back out of the bar and sprinted back to the betting shop in order to deliver the documents. The owner of the betting shop was pleased with her effort and gladly paid her what he owed. The job was done but her work for the night was not quite over and without another word, she left the shop and disappeared into the night.

Having swiftly completed her previous job, Miranda had darted back to the nightclub in order to complete her promise to the girl who she had walked into before. She hardly in any state to do anything so the blue haired mage had ended up having to pick her up and carry her out of the club, much to the amusement of the patrons. The bunny girl was not amused though and the look on her face lacked the usual cheerfulness that it tended to convey. There was not much in this world that could frustrate or annoy her but there was just something about arrogant bastards that drove her insane. The way they walked, the way they talked and the way they went about their lives. It made her blood boil and if it was not for the fact that she was protecting her almost unconscious friend, she would go back there and set her spirits upon them.

The barkeep had been useful at least, giving her directions to the girls home, which she was now following. It would look pretty strange to those walking down the street but Miranda did not care about that. The girl would occasionally mumble a few words but that was all that she could muster, she was well and truly plastered although the bunny girl had to smile at the occasional lewd comment that the girl spoke of. She was attractive, long blonde hair, bright green eyes and a fine figure and was certainly a lot more appealing to the eyes than the ugly scumbags who had been in the nightclub. Still, even though she found the girl pretty, she was able to hold off on her more primal urges for the moment. Besides, this was a job after all and even though she rarely showed it, Miranda did have some scraps of pride and professionalism in her work, sometimes.

Everything was going smoothly until she reached the girl's house, where a group of thugs were hanging around, laughing and joking with each other. They swiftly turned towards Miranda and started firing off swear words and lewd innuendo's. The bunny girl was easily able to outwit them verbally and soon enough, they lost their tempers and drew their weapons, bats and metal pipes. She simply grinned and summoned Aquarius, who used her water powers to create a water geyser nearby which destroyed their bikes, which were located nearby. They certainly lost their composure then and quickly ran off, precisely what you would expect from a group of cowards.

Once they had run off, the door to the girl's house opened and an elderly couple appeared. It turned out that they were the girl's grandparents and appreciated what Miranda had done for their granddaughter. The mage carried the girl inside, before gently placing her on the couch in their front room. The family were certainly grateful and had no problem with paying the mage for her work, especially pleased that she had managed to scare off the thugs too, who were known for causing trouble in the area.

Once everything was concluded, Miranda then took her leave, bidding the family farewell and making her way down the street. Having completed her good deed for the decade.
