-Silver Wolf Guild Hall, Guild Mistress' Office-

Wearing her green, white, and gold outfit with Argent Gloves, Leona sat in her office and tried to get over the recurring sight of her skeletal right hand. Even though it had been almost a day since the adventure to Midi she could still see flashes of white even though the flesh on her right hand had long since been restored thanks to healing potions and the passage of time. Leona did not understand how the skeletal hand had worked despite not having the tendons necessary to move it. Maybe the sight was simply the result of powerful illusion magic, but the pain that the cursed sword known as Kamisori had inflicted on her was very real.

Leona's right hand had turned skeletal during her recent adventure to Midi; she had been hired to travel through Chiba Cemetery and put the undead to rest before they formed an army and marched on the village. A blacksmith in Chiba named Ieyasu had also sent Leona to retrieve some blessed metal that could be used to repair Shoki and restore its demon-quelling properties after centuries of sitting in storage. Since ghosts were among the undead roaming the cemetery, Ieyasu had loaned Leona a cursed sword that could harm spirits as easily as it could harm the living, but in return for its power the sword demanded a portion of the life force of its wielder. The sword had never missed an opportunity to collect its fee, even when it was inconvenient for it to do so, such as when Leona was facing down a zombie samurai army.

Leona learned that the sword's name was Kamisori, which meant "Razor" in the language of Midi. It was an appropriate name because the sword could harm its wielder as easily as it could any opponents who found themselves standing in front of it. Ieyasu had told Leona that sheathing Kamisori would prevent its life-draining effect from happening, but whether by accident or design Leona did not have an opportunity to sheathe Kamisori due to the sheer number of undead that she had faced and their penchant for appearing at any time. Despite the difficulty of her task Leona had succeeded and cleansed Chiba Cemetery of the undead plus made it possible for Ieyasu to recover the blessed metal necessary to repair Shoki.

The Wizard Saint was glad that that adventure was a success. The success added to her reputation as a problem-solver and in a week's time she would have a fully repaired Shoki to take on any further adventures in Midi. In the meantime she had to deal with a more mundane threat that she could not just punch into submission or cut to pieces with a sword: paperwork.

Doing paperwork was a Sisyphean task... the more of it Leona managed to complete the more the stacks of paper seemed to grow. Such was the nature of the job of Guild Mistress. Leona was staring down a stack of papers on the subject of excessive paper usage and ways to combat it, an irony that the blonde found to be more than a little amusing. Leona was trying to think of a way to solve the amusing conundrum when a knock on the door diverted her attention.

A young female staff member quickly entered the room, deposited a letter with a red wax seal on the back of a brown envelope, and left the room without saying a single word. Leona picked up the letter and carefully looked it over for traps such as magic that would active upon opening. It was in a brown envelope that was the color of parchment for scrolls and the red wax seal had an S on it. Trying to pull the seal off would only tear the envelope, so the Wizard Saint needed to locate a heat source to melt the wax. Leona reached in her desk drawer and pulled out a silver cigarette lighter that had somehow ended up in there.

She ignited it and carefully held the envelope just close enough for the flame to gently heat the wax for removal, then put out the lighter and carefully removed the wax seal. Once the seal had been removed Leona opened the envelope and carefully removed the letter. She then gently opened it and caught a scent of something like mildew when she opened the slightly yellowed paper.

Leona read over the contents and learned that she had been invited to dinner at Sombras Manor due to her talents as a Wizard Saint. Her green eyes narrowed when she read the name "Sombras Manor"... she had heard about that place. It was haunted by the spirits of those who had died within its walls and it was also home to assorted denizens of the Cursed Lands like vampires, zombies, werewolves, and who knew what else. The invitation was such a glaring trap that even someone who was a bit slow on the draw like Leona could see that, but she felt compelled to investigate Sombras Manor and clean it out. Leona put the letter back into the envelope and took it in her left hand, scribbled a note to put on her office door, and went to her room to get her best anti-spirit weapon.

    -In the foyer-

Equipped with her Silver Longsword on her left hip and her backpack of supplies plus the invitation, Leona stood in the foyer of the guild hall and checked to make sure she had everything because Sombras Manor was a long way from here. She also had a feeling that maybe this job was too big for her to take on alone. However, she had to choose her partner carefully because the Cursed Lands were fraught with peril. Who could she recruit to help her investigate Sombras Manor?

Post by SlayerMathis 17th February 2020, 4:54 pm

Mathis bore a cross look on his face. He seemed to be slowing down. Getting used to living in a new area such as Silver Wolf was of little issue. He had already set his routine in place. Each day, like clockwork. He would wake before sunrise for a quick portion of food before heading to his quarters to continue to work on his "project." After a few hours, he would, with his specially-crafted training dummy, head to the yard to begin practicing his own combat prowess. As consistent as he was, Ella was less consistent. She would often come into the yard as well to train herself, though there was no rhyme or reason to when she would show. It was as inconsistent as it possibly could be, but Mathis worked around it nonetheless. Following that, regardless of if Ella had joined in the weapons practice, he would help tutor her, whether in fighting, repair, or construction. By that point, the sun would be high in the sky, and Mathis would retreat to his quarters to meditate and practice magic. Magic was never a strong suit of his, and he suspected that the only reason he had the ability to even use weak magic was because of his resonance with Monado. He luckily managed to consistently get one of the strongest Blade, Pyra, out, but it was a fragile connection at best. Following his magic training, he would once more return to the yard, either sparring with whatever guildmates were available or simply testing his technique against the training dummy. The aces often proved a good challenge, and he would occasionally win a bout against them, though the score often proved in the favor of the aces. Mathis had little experience fighting against those that could use magic, and this guild would be a wonderful place to start work on such a task and such a weakness. After sparring, he would eat a small portion of food once more, often having to ward off Ella's insistence on trying to get more information about Monado, before heading once more to his quarters to meditate and train. After that, it would be past sundown, and he would work more on his "project" and work on a chronicle of both him and his home of Alrest.

Even with a strict regiment, he felt rusty. Much of the time spent since coming into Silver Wolf for Mathis was spent in training, both his intellect in working towards his "project" and his physical work in weapons training, while also teaching Ella in how to improve her own weapon. However, a portion of him longed to head out into true battle, and he was still unfamiliar with how the guilds of Fiore worked. As such, he had set out to search for the guild master, Leona, only to see that a note marking her absence was on the door. Slight frustrated, but understanding nonetheless, he set out to see where else he might be able to go, whether or not it would be on a job.

His decision to set out for a nearby town proved to be a fruitful thought, even if it was not for the intended purpose of that nearby town. Rather, he came across the guild master in the foyer, seeming ready to set out for whatever journey she had implied on the note leading to her office.

"Might you be looking for someting in particular, Jarnefeldt-sama?" he asking, descending to meet her where she was. He noticed the sword sheathed at her waist. Silver. Likely meant that she was facing off against some unholy creatures that bore a penchant for being unwounded by little else but fire and silver. "Perhaps it is my own...unfamiliarity with Fiore, but a Wizard Saint is one of the most masterful users of magic in the entirety of the country, correct? Then what need would one such as yourself have of a sword? Perhaps you are fighting against...machinations of an undead manner? If that is the case, I would be glad to be of assistance. While Monado is, by no means, silver, it is capable of cutting through the lives of undead beasts. Such is the way of its creation, Jarnefeldt-sama." He bowed slightly. "Of course, this is all your decision, Jarnefeldt-sama, but I have personally felt that I am...complacent with my current work, and it would be an honor to see how one regarded as a great wizard of Fiore fights in combat, and it would be an honor if I were to show you the capabilities of a man of Alrest." Bowing once more at the waist, he felt a twinge of anxiousness. It was not enough to truly be worried about, but it was something to certainly take note of. Perhaps it was not anxiousness, but excitement. He was ready to show Fiore the capabilities he had, and he was ready to see how a Wizard Saint fought in battle.

A Dinner Party Empty Re: A Dinner Party

Post by Leona Jarnefeldt 18th February 2020, 3:04 pm

Leona had checked over her equipment again and had everything she needed. She had her primary weapon against the supernatural in the form of the Silver Longsword, she had her knife for a backup weapon, she had her protective Argent Gloves to defend against physical attacks and the occasional spell, and she had her backpack of everyday supplies like food and water. The Wizard Saint had everything she needed, everything but a partner for the trip to Sombras Manor. That was quite the problem because whoever she took would have to be able to defend themselves against the denizens of the Cursed Lands, possibly without her help. Who could she take with her?

Leona did not necessarily need a partner; in the past she had went on plenty of death-defying jobs by herself, but this time she was feeling cautious. Something about this whole situation made the blonde want someone to go with her as support. The invitation to a danger zone was obviously a trap; the tip-off that was so obvious that even Leona could not overlook it was that the invitation was given to her because of her power. Were all the other Wizard Saints and Gods/Goddesses of Ishgar too busy to accept the invitation or were they just smarter than her? It had to be the latter.

Still, Leona could not help but to accept it, if only to clear out Sombras Manor for awhile before all types of creatures repopulated it and made it a danger zone once again. Someone had to do it, so why not her? It was only fitting that the Wizard Saint of Courage be the one to take on the daunting task of going into Sombras Manor, facing down its denizens, and clearing it out, if only for a short time. Leona's thoughts and mental preparations were interrupted by a male voice that belonged to Mathis Lora, one of the new guys of Silver Wolf.

"Oh hi Mathis! I was about to set out for the Sombras Manor!" Leona announced her intent to him in a voice that sounded more like she was going to a sunny picnic in Capital Crocus than going on a dangerous trip to the Cursed Lands. It was no big secret... Leona stayed on the move and was rarely in her office for too long. Maybe she should quit roving Earthland so much and actually do some administrative work, but the Wizard Saint of Courage could not afford to sit by and be a bureaucrat while people needed saving.

Mathis noticed that she was carrying a sword and made an astute comment about her possibly going up against supernatural forces. That statement prompted Leona to tell him a little more about her purpose.

"Yes, Mathis. I'm going to be going up against supernatural enemies in the Cursed Lands and the Silver Longsword on my side's the best weapon I have against them. While zombies go down with just about any weapon applied to the head, I'm more worried about werewolves and ghosts. I'm especially worried about vampires." Leona admitted to Mathis. Zombies were mostly walking annoyances to the Wizard Saint, who had disposed of countless numbers of them. Ghosts were only slightly more dangerous because they could appear anywhere at any time and werewolves gave Leona a good deal of trouble because of their speed, strength, and durability plus their penchant for traveling and fighting in packs. Vampires... vampires made Leona legitimately worried because she knew so little about them. Her one vampire encounter so far was against a special "new breed" of vampire who could laugh off any and all weapons that someone tried to use against it; as a result she was wary of vampires for fear that all of them were the "new breed" encountered in the old Order of the Silver Blade member's house.

Leona then thought about the matter a little more. Mathis was a physically fit guy who seemed like he was able to handle himself in a fight. He was also a few levels weaker than her, but that did not mean anything when magic was the great equalizer of Earthland. One example was Luna Mira. At first glance Luna did not look like much of a fighter, but one did not have to be a martial arts master or swordswoman when Nature Magic could paralyze enemies with spores or use a variety of effects to bring down opponents to a much more manageable level, and that was before Luna's companion Amelia was factored into the equation. More examples were Arcadia Fairchilde and Nessa Cordelia Lux of Fairy Tail and Haraka Omaras of West Fiore Trading Company... it was safe to say that raw strength was not everything in the world of mages.

"Would you like to go with me? If you do, you'll also need to bring everything you need with you because there aren't a lot of safe places to get supplies in the Cursed Lands." Leona offered for Mathis to accompany her. She was about to add a warning to bring a silver or Holy weapon before realizing that he had expressly said that his weapon named Monado was capable of harming them. Stifling her embarrassment with great effort, she remained quiet and kept a calm facial expression. She was kind of hoping that he would, but the decision was his choice to make. If he did not want to go she would not force him.

Leona's worry about ghosts and werewolves and vampires was certainly surprising to Mathis. This was a Wizard Saint, after all, and all the rumors that Mathis was aware of told that the Wizard Saints were nigh-unstoppable. Then again, it could have simply been for the fact that it was another person that was to be brought in, and any assistance was helpful. Perhaps not necessary, but a welcomed boon nonetheless.

"Very well, Jarnefeldt-sama. If you wish for me to join you, I shall not object. Perhaps I may be able to see it as somewhat of a rite of passage for my entrance into the guild, if I may be so bold as to suggest. I have not done much work alongside the fellow people of Silver Wolf, nor much at all in Fiore, so any knowledge I may learn from the land will be most beneficial. Oh, and you need not worry about my safety and work with supplies. Should food be necessary, I am more than capable of hunting down foul beasts or foraging the land for foliage, and I am always vigilant of danger. I should already be prepared to go."

Almost as if on cue, Poppi marched on over towards Mathis. "Do not forget about Poppi! Poppi is already ready for combat, and Poppi is prepared to face off against any creatures!"

Mathis rolled his eyes slightly. "I apologize for Poppi's demeanor, Jarnefeldt-sama. This is my recent creation, Poppi. She is an Artificial Blade, and a very capable combatant. She will not require any sustenance in terms of food, and her core perpetually energizes, so there is no need to worry on the part of power. If it would be advantageous to leave her behind, that is fully acceptable and I can continue to have Poppi work on other tasks I have at hand. It is your call, Jarnefeldt-sama."

Poppi bowed towards Leona. "Poppi is ready to be of assistance, Leona! Ready to bash-crash-pow any enemies that come in our way!"

Each time Poppi spoke, it seemed as if Mathis learned something knew about his own creation, and each time he regretted not investigating the AI core given to him upon leaving Alrest last. Nonetheless, he hoped Leona would accept his request, prepared to show off his combatitive prowess to someone as strong as a Wizard Saint. That said, it would be a lie to not suggest that Mathis himself was curious as to what the people of Fiore could do with their own magic, especially one considered as strong as Leona. The people of Alrest were not magically gifted, having to rely on technology and the mysteries of natural Blades, and all of the lands that Mathis had visited prior to Fiore were lackluster in magic as well, far from the realms of Earthland and their rigorous reliance and use of magic. Perhaps, if he were to investigate the nature of magics such as this, he would be able to perhaps improve his own abilities or improve Poppi's capabilities if his current nature was incompatible with stronger magics. It was all a curious mystery to Mathis, and one he wished to solve, regardless of the depths of its secrecy.

Post by Leona Jarnefeldt 5th March 2020, 6:40 pm

Leona probably lost a bit of face by being truthful regarding her concerns about vampires, but after what happened with Luna in the mountains the Wizard Saint was not going to lie about her capabilities. If Mathis was truly willing to follow her to Sombras Manor because he wanted to and not because he felt obligated as a new member of Silver Wolf, he deserved to know the full extent of what she could do before they trotted off to Sombras Manor and the blonde got in over her head with a vampire. He also deserved an explanation about why she was so concerned about vampires.

"[color=#3399ff]I'm worried about vampires because I've only encountered them once, Mathis. I encountered a special type that was immune to all traditional vampire weaknesses and had to run for my life because nothing I did could hurt it. I even stabbed my Silver Longsword into the center of its chest and it literally laughed it off." Leona explained part of her concerns to Mathis. Fighting the "new breed" in the old hunter's house was a bad scare for Leona because up to that point everything she had fought had a weakness that could be exploited, but that vampire did not have one. It laughed off her Wind Strike Magic and it laughed off her Silver Longsword, so the smartest thing to do was run for her life; she did and barely made it out of the house and to safety ahead of the vampire. The only thing preventing an abrupt end to Leona's story was a magic barrier that kept out all non-mages and limited the vampire to a small area just outside the house.

"I'm also carrying a plain Silver Longsword with no special powers that can do extra damage to them. I'm not sure if silver will do anything to them or not because from what little I've heard about them vampires only have a few weaknesses." Leona explained to Mathis another reason for her concern. The Wizard Saint needed to procure a weapon that could harm vampires; she had Shoki, but it was on loan to her, so it would be rude to carry it around outside of Midi. She needed another weapon, one that belonged to her and that had special powers that did harm to vampires.

"I appreciate you coming with me, Math-" Leona started before a blue-haired young woman in a black body suit and wielding a large red-and-black sword approached and excitedly declared her readiness for combat. The blonde was a little surprised by "Poppi's" appearance and even more surprised to learn that the blue-haired being was a creation of Mathis'. The new guy had skills that were well in advance of any that Leona had... she was reasonably adept in the ancient Desierto language of Court Heiromesh, but that was about it. Meanwhile, Mathis could create advanced lifeforms at will. Poppi did not require food or refueling thanks to her special internal power generator, so she was self-sustaining.

Now Leona had the choice of whether to bring Poppi along for a helping hand in combat or leave her here to let her work on Mathis' works in progress. That was a tough choice. Leona was sure that they would need a helping hand against the opposition, but Poppi was Mathis' creation and he alone had the last word on how she was employed.

"I'd be glad to take you with me, Mathis. And if you don't mind, I'd like for you to bring Poppi as well. Together we can get through the mansion and defeat whatever's waiting for us." Leona said to him with confidence. In between herself, Mathis, and Poppi, they should be able to beat any enemies the manor could throw at them.

Poppi's sudden interruption still sat upon the back of Mathis's mind. He had a twinge of regret for the fact that Poppi's AI acted so oddly, but it made her a charming companion, he thought. Certainly a companion just like him would have been uninteresting, though perhaps a better fighter.

It mattered little to the master swordsman, who simply thanked his guildmaster for the opportunity to let himself and Poppi show their prowess on the battlefield. "I will admit, however, that I have not had much experience with vampires and undead and the like, Jarnefeldt-sama. Poppi I do not believe will have many issues, though she can fall back into a support role if at all necessary, and I would be surprised if Monado had difficulty slicing through them. I shall follow your lead, Jarnefeldt-sama. The details of the job matter little, especially if one as capable as yourself is leading the way, though if you do not mind saying, I would appreciate knowledge on such details. I am perfectly capable of dealing with such foes in a fight, though knowing the full extent of what we are up against could prove beneficial."

He placed a hand over his chest and bowed, steeling himself in preparation. As the two set off from the halls of Silver Wolf, Mathis made sure to place his mask upon himself. In truth, the mask was not a required part of his gear. It was merely of sentimental value to his home, where the mask he bore reminded him of the tribe he had grown up in.

"Scanning the area, Master!" Poppi chirped, her metallic legs brushing away the snow as if it were not there. "If Master and Leona wish it, Popppi can begin a scouting run of Sombras Manor. Poppi has Grade-A stealth capabilities, so there is no worries of Poppi being spotted!"

Mathis sighed. "Once more, I apologize for Poppi's...attitude towards everything. I am still working out some of the finer details of her AI and seeing if some others can help. Just as Monado is a mystery, Poppi's AI is yet another mystery that I wish to solve, albeit a more answerable question. I have been in talks with Mercury-san, in particular, towards this matter. Perhaps there can be something found, though...it is of little matter." A realization came to him, unseen under his mask. "Ah, apologies, Jarnefeldt-sama. I have a tendency to speak a bit much upon matters that interest me. Forgive my rudeness in speaking on without allowing you a word to speak. However, Poppi raises a valid point. She can rush ahead to do preliminary scouting, if you so desire. However, the decision is up to you. I am merely here as a newcomer being brought into the fold of Silver Wolf, while you are the Guildmaster, Jarnefeldt-sama. It is your call."

He bowed once more, letting his Guildmaster take the words for herself. Despite his usual desire for professionalism, he admitted that he often fell into the trap of speaking much on the things he was interested in, often to extreme extents like this. Whether it was the inner machinations on weaponry or the intricacies of machinery, Mathis had his passions that he could not get over, simply running his mouth on such matters. Still, it was something he could not help. Since he had become the one to use Monado, he had always wondered aloud on its intricacies. It was a unique weapon for sure. It could change its form at a whim, even going as far as to become ranged weaponry should the occasion call for it, and Mathis did not even need to actively change it. It merely worked, and Mathis adapted to it. Poppi was similar yet. The mechanical creature was, in truth, not exactly an AI. It was a sentient being, as far as Mathis could tell. How did they get the AI? How did Poppi's AI work? Was it even an AI? So many questions flooded Mathis's head, and upon hearing the nature behind a guild such as Silver Wolf, he knew at an instant that, aside from his sheer curiosity on the nature of Fioran guilds, Silver Wolf could perhaps provide him the answers he had been seeking for such a long time. Even if it was a hopeless goal, it was something that he desired to learn, and such was the nature of Silver Wolver, as far as he could tell. It was about the desire for knowledge of all sorts. Magic, weaponry, history, everything was fair game to learn about within the halls of Silver Wolf.

Obscured by his mask, Mathis felt his face settle into a small smile. Even if he felt as if he had no chance at beating some of these people of Silver Wolf, they would be worthy challenges, should one accept an opportunity to spar with him. Even if there was no time for sparring, there was still the obvious prospect of trading in knowledge and information with anyone. Leona, Mercury, even Ella. Anyone within Silver Wolf could do wonders of teaching him different things, and he was sure that he could do the same. He knew little of magic and even less of Fiore, yet he desired the yearning for more knowledge. Every passing day, it became more apparent that Silver Wolf was a good fit for the foreign swordsman.

    -Outside Sombras Manor-

After discussing the matter and Mathis agreeing to bring Poppi along for support, Leona was glad that she had told the truth about her limited experience with vampires because Mathis seemed to hold her in high regard. He had chosen to follow her to Sombras Manor of his own free will and she wanted him to know that while she was strong, she had limited experience fighting vampires. She had told Mathis that because she wanted to limit the disappointment he felt when the Wizard Saint of Courage could not fell a vampire on one slash just because she was a Wizard Saint. Working alongside Luna Mira had pushed Leona to quit posturing and be honest with herself and others about her capabilities.

All throughout her career Leona had pushed herself into dangerous situations and had taken tough jobs to prove to others she had "earned" her titles by really deserving them, not because she had happened to be in the right place at the right time. No one had expressly said that to her face, but the blonde felt that way about her rapid ascension from rank-and-file member to Silver Wolf Ace after Leila Vergious' disappearance to Guild Mistress after Poko Monstar's disappearance. Leona had also benefited from the sudden disappearance of the last generation of Wizard Saints, allowing her to fill the void and become one of Earthland's most famous mages despite her average skillset and lack of any unique accomplishments. She had spent many months trying to live up to the ideal of a Wizard Saint by putting her life on the line in a series of increasingly dangerous missions, but tonight Leona needed to slow down and think before charging into danger.

Leona knew that tonight it was not just her life on the line; Mathis' life was also at stake. So was Poppi's... with two lives in her hands Leona was going to be careful and do her best to think every action through before acting. It was her responsibility as Guild Mistress of Silver Wolf to get Mathis through this dangerous job safely along with his companion Poppi. Getting them through this job was every bit as important as clearing the manor of whatever denizens lurked behind its walls.

Leona felt the wind blow the front of her hair around as she looked upon the exterior of Sombras Manor. It was a grand manor built in an old architectural style that had a certain appeal, but that appeal was tarnished by an oppressive feeling of darkness that emanated from the manor. The numerous windows had a hard-to-describe look that suggested that no amount of cleaning could ever remove the grime that had accumulated on them over the decades and something about the building just felt off. Yet Leona and Mathis were standing outside the manor, about to enter it for dinner with their mysterious host.

Leona had been so fixated on issues that she had thought about many times before that she had almost neglected to speak to Mathis and Poppi. Mathis had declared that he would follow her because of her power and experience and Poppi had offered to do a stealthy reconnaissance run before the Silver Wolf mages entered the building themselves. Leona needed to respond to them both so that they did not feel like they were being ignored.

"I'm glad you chose to come with me, Mathis. I don't know what's in there, but we can get through this. You're a strong mage and I'm a strong mage, so we can handle this if we work together." Leona thanked him for agreeing to go with her despite the risks. She was not sure if he joined of his own free will or felt obligated to because she was the Guild Mistress, but she appreciated his company nonetheless. Leona had plenty of experience working alone, but it had been quite some time since she had last worked with a Silver Wolf mage. This would be a good opportunity to learn to really lead a guildmate and not just hold the title of guild leader.

Leona looked towards Poppi and then towards Mathis because she was not sure who she should request a reconnaissance run from. Mathis was Poppi's builder and had a lot of say over how the A.I. operated, but Poppi would be the one actually going into harm's way. The blonde thought about it and decided to just ask Mathis.

"If you don't mind, I'd like for Poppi to go ahead and get a look at what we might be facing, Mathis." Leona requested of him. Maybe she was too soft to be a good leader. Technically she was within her rights as Guild Mistress to make the request an order, but she had reservations about using her authority in a situation that did not require it. That hangup was something that she really needed to work on so that she was not perceived as a weak leader whenever guildmates needed strong leadership.

"I don't mind you talking, Mathis. I'm interested to hear someone else's viewpoint about things. I like to hear about others and their experiences." Leona assured Mathis that it was OK for him to talk like he had and that it did not sound like him going on and on. Leona had experienced a lot over two years, but she still saw the world from the viewpoint of a blonde chick straight out of the desert. It was nice to talk to someone besides her harpies because Daphne had made it her personal mission to poke fun at Leona's lack of a love life, her figure, and anything else about the blonde that the dark-haired harpy could use to get a cheap laugh at Leona's expense. It was also interesting to hear about life in other countries such as the one Mathis came from.
