Hello and Good Morning! The Admin team has a quick announcement to make to the site. Everyone should have seen the most resent notice about the vote being invalidated due to cheating. In addition to that we have come to learn that MANY people have been misinformed about the fallout that has come from this incident. As such, the admins have decided to clarify what has happened.
The result of cheating gave everyone caught, and there were multiple, an on site WARNING for every account of cheating that was found in the last two polls. Meaning, at most someone got two warnings for cheating. Now, if you go to our Code of Conduct you will see that a certain amount of official warnings gives on site bans.
Which means. Anyone who was banned would have been banned for the number of warnings they have, and not for cheating. AND the ban was temporary. Any other effects that came from that, such as the loss of a position, stems from the fact that a banned member cannot hold a position of power and trust.
Now, we understand that such changes causes obvious instability for guilds in question. This is why the decision to go with a public vote was made, to allow all members to have input on their leadership which in the past has threatened to cause issues to the guild. We did not want fallout to fall onto a guild that did not deserve it. EVEN though it was discovered that the Guild Group in question was used to vote in a poll. Which is ALSO cheating.
This means we want the guild to be as stable as possible moving forward, and despite what people seem to think we wish for the best for a beloved guild.
Finally, we as admins wish to try and alleviate the fallout as much as possible, and unify the site. We understand why people are angry, some are angry because they got cheated, others because their friends are being punished. However, there is a large part of the population that honestly are just confused by the misinformation.
To that regard, there has also been a suggestion made, which can be found here
