Emma had been in quite good spirits having reunited earlier that day with her old childhood friend, William and learning that he hadn’t disappeared simply because he didn’t want anything to do with her anymore. She still wasn’t quite sure how to speak to him now, it had been so long that their journey seemed filled with more awkward silence than anything else. Her usual calm and confident self completely ruined by his very presence and Amari wasn’t helping one bit either. Her magical pet hadn’t shut up inside her head since leaving the neutral grounds and reuniting together.

“Just shut up…” Emma grumbled out loud, as she felt her stomach churn as the boat they were travelling on rocked back and forth, feeling too queasy to reply through thoughts alone. The young maiden was not one for travelling outside of her homeland, let alone by sea. In fact she tended to avoid that sort of thing all together due to her fear of the ocean, but being inside a secure cabin was helping a little with that, the rocking however, with lack of air within the cabin was causing her to feel nauseous. It seemed there was no winning, either she had to feel sick or scared out of her mind.

‘Just consider it, if the ship were to sink now William would be your knight in shining armour, and ensure you don’t drown!’ Amari chirped on, sprouting complete nonsense. The spirit had decided that the two of them meeting this day was completely down to fate and nothing could change their mind on the matter.

“Are you saying you’re planning to make us sink. If you even dare touch this ship I will end you.” Emma mumbled in response, not caring if the young man was around or listen or not. In fact, she wasn’t even sure if he was here or not, her head was spinning so much he could have left to get some air on deck and she would have been none the wiser at this point. He had escorted her on board, but after that everything was nothing but a dizzy blur as she tried to sleep the entire trip as best as she could given the circumstances.

“Please, in your current state you couldn’t even swat me, let alone END me.” Amari scoffed as they manifested into the physical realm, taking on their general strange rodent like appearance they seemed fond of before rubbing Emma gently on her back to try to help her. Despite the relentless teasing the little creature did care strongly for the young girl and seeing her in such a way made them a little sad. “From what I could pick up through the thoughts of the ship crew we should be arriving on the island in a few minutes, so don’t worry. Then we just need to locate the guild hall.” Amari added, trying to cheer Emma up before looking around to see if William was there or not.

William was standing there, leaning on a wall next to the cabin. Its been a while so he forgot if the fact that Emma was weak to the ocean was something he knew back then about her or if it was a new thing that happened while he was gone. Nonetheless the young raven haired gentleman would help her along the way, giving a shoulder to lean on if she ever needed one. But after having her settle on the ground with some blankets the girl would talk with her friend Amari, Will would just smile as he watched the conversation go down, saying nothing. He found Emma right now to be cute, after she was done with her talk with Amari the boy would go up to her, crouch down and pat her shoulder.

“Hey Emma, we are gonna be there in no time, so hang in there alright. I am just going to go get some food for us and come back in a jiffy, will try to see if I can find some apricots cause I know you like them. So wait for me here.” He said with a gentle smile before letting go of her shoulder and standing up, leaving the cabin to go search for the food.

It took a little while, but William managed to find some good food. It was some apricot chicken, the way he managed to find it for Emma was by using his charm on a lady that had a lot of it and convincing her to give him a part of her food. But instead of eating it himself he saved it for Emma.

On the way back, the black haired man would find another person standing on the deck, staring at the ocean like some sort of bitter rival. William walked up to that man. “hey there, whats with that frown buddy. You look like somebody just killed your puppy, whats wrong?” the man asked, he knew he was getting late on poor little Emma but at the same time he could not resist talking to someone that is not smiling and perhaps changing that.

With the magic that he now possess. Sage seek for guidance through far and wide, but none seemed to care about him. Until one day he saw a flyer drifting through the wind. Somehow it landed straight in front of his feet. He looked at the flyer for a while and decided to pick it up, his curiosity ever wondering. He glanced through the flyer and it seemed like it was a recruiting flyer, for the guild Dies Irae. "Hmm...", he was curious of what the guild was all about, and so he did his research. From bartenders to travelers to shopkeepers, he ask, for he did not know.

Later on, he found out that Dies Irae is a guild that fights for righteousness. Something deep inside him told him that he should join the guild. It was not a voice, but a feeling. Day by day pass by and the feeling grew stronger and stronger. Frustrated by his emotions he decided to pack things up and head to ember island.

Sage made his way into one of the ships that carried passengers to ember island. It seemed like there are various kind of people, some looks like members of the Dies Irae guild, some wears formal attire as if they were on business vacation and some looks like they were just visiting a friend or family. On his way to his cabin though, he saw a raven haired man, helping a girl who seemed like she was sick from the rocking motion of the ship. Sage could simply observe the situation, while amazed by the goodness of the man, and felt sorry for the poor girl, he moved along with a straight face.

After setting his things inside his personal cabin, he went to the docks, to 'enjoy' the view that he rarely could view. The wind blows his blonde locks and his white cape, his eyes looking right at the ocean. He was scared of it. He did not know what is there. What could be lying there. Anything could happen. So he simply observes, trying to learn something from the vast blue canvas. There was then a voice, it disturbed his thoughts and he felt a little bit annoyed, but he wouldn't blame the intruder, it was his own curse to like being left alone. He turned to face the man with a slight smile on his face, he was a bit amused by the metaphor the man used.

"Dogs? No, nobody died." he said while chuckling a little then looking back at the vast ocean. "Tell me, what do you think is in there?" he asked the man while facing the ocean, he likes to view the opinion of others so he might gain something from it, or perhaps the man knows something that he did not.

Amari would watch William leave the small cabin as he mentioned seeing if he could find some apricots for Emma. He was definitely a sweet young man in Amari’s beady little eyes. Emma however, could do nothing but groan in response with a small wave before the young man left. However, after waiting for what seemed like a lifetime to Emma, but only a few minutes to her beloved pet, they would feel the ship slowing down, a sign they would be pulling up shortly on the docks of Amber Island.

“Where is that idiot?” Emma grumbled, forcing herself to stand up, the nausea not feeling quite so bad now that the boat wasn’t travelling quite so fast and the turbulence of the ocean had eased a little.

“Ahh… shall we go find him? He said to wait here but I think we’ll probably reach land before he returns. Amari answered, as they searched through the minds of those that didn’t have a strong enough defense to look for where William could be until he found some woman thinking about a handsome young man who had taken some of her apricot chicken and regretting not asking for his name. “Get your own man, he belongs to Emma.” Amari muttered under their breath low enough that Emma wouldn’t hear them and argue with them again.

“I think I found the path he’s taking so we should be able to meet with him.” Amari continued. Seeing Emma simply nod gave them the okay that they should hide themselves, returning to the ethereal realm as the young lady left the cabin, still clutching slightly to her stomach as the queasy feeling returned now that she was standing up and trying to walk.

“Ugh… Which way?” Emma mumbled to herself, looking left and right down the hallway till she spied the stairs up to the dock before heading up top. They were still on the ocean but she could see the island grow in size as they approached, letting her fear dwindle a little as she came to terms with the fact that she would be on dry land soon enough. Her eyes scanned the area quickly till she spied her friend who seemed to be chatting away with someone staring at the ocean.

“So much for getting me food…” Emma murmured before feeling something rise in her throat as she raced over to the side of the boat and emptied the contents of her stomach over the edge and into the water below, a vision that made her slightly fearful. Somewhat fortunately she was too sick to really think about it right now as she sunk down to her knees, clutching her stomach once more as the nausea returned.

‘Well if he had got you food it would have been wasted now!’ Amari chirped inside Emma’s mind with a small chuckle, only making Emma groan once more, too sick to even respond properly.

William was looking at the blonde man wondering what the hell is going with him, he was then asked a weird question. The raven haired gentleman raised his eyebrow as he was unsure what the question actually meant, slowly turning to the sea and looking at, observing the endlessness of it all. “I don’t know man, probably fishes and water. Maybe some scattered ruins of ships and the like.” The man said bluntly, it was what he thought nothing else came to mind when thinking of that question. “anyways what brings you here bud, don’t tell me you are off to go to Dies Irae guild, cause if so that would be a hilarious coincidence.” The boy would say before turning away from the ocean and on to the blonde boy, pointing a thumb towards himself Will was about to introduce himself proudly.

“You see the name’s William Everett and I am gonna be a great mage of the Dies Irae guild, I actually came here with a buddy of mine we are gonna sign up together.” William said before smacking his own head, remembering he left sick Emma to fend for herself. “oh god speaking of her, she has been sea sick, I need to go check up on her.” He said, not knowing if the blonde boy would follow him or not.

The boy would eventually find Emma, on her knees the girl being in pretty bad shape. William felt bad for the young girl. “Hey Emma sorry I took a while, getting this food was well easy but it took some time. Anyways you should have not left your cabin, alright lets get you to where you need to be. there is not much time left on this journey.” He said as he helped lift the girl up and have her lean on him when walking. “oh and I guess you should not eat food in this current state, I guess I will eat it.” He said with a chuckle, he was actually hungry so this works out great.

Sage expected some wisdom from the man who disturbed his peace. But as the words escaped from the raven haired man Sage was quite, no, very disappointed. The man only had the looks, his brain is a bit shallow. Sage took a deep breath, filling air into his lungs, then released the air content slowly, to calm himself down. 'It's okay, he is just not good at using his brain, does not make him a bad person.'he reminded himself quickly. The man then changed the topic, asking Sage what his business was on ember island and stated that he was heading to Dies Irae guild while jokingly stated that it would be a hilarious coincidence if Sage was heading there as well.

    "...".

Sage couldn't believe he was stuck in such awkward situation. He kept quite while he pursed his lips shut and stared into the ocean. The man proceeded by introducing himself, stating his name and the reason he was heading to the Dies Irae guild. Sage won't lie, William was a good at socializing, he hoped he had that skill as well, even though not capable of using his brain well, he does have some good traits up his sleeve. That doesn't change the fact that Sage despised William's dumbness. After mentioning that he was not there alone, Sage remembered seeing him with another girl who seemed sick. Sage turned to face William wanting to ask if the girl was okay but before he could say anything William had realized that he forgot about her and needed to go and check on her. As he left Sage could only say, which he believed only he could hear, "Well, nice talking to you then.". Even though he was annoyed, it felt good to just interact with another person after a long time.

Sage went back to gaze into ocean, wondering what lays beneath and what secrets it hides. Then there was an announcement from the speakers of the ship. "Passengers heading to Ember Island, please prepare yourself as we are approaching the docks." it repeated itself for a few times. Sage heard her the first time and head for his cabin where he placed some of his stuff. He picked his stuff up and head towards the exit, where many people were already waiting to climb off the ship.

Emma was still feeling too seasick to complain or argue with William’s comments, although she was a little ticked off he straight up wouldn’t give her whatever food he had managed to find. If it was an apricot and he ate it in front of her she was going to be incredibly mad even if eating it in her current condition wasn’t the greatest idea it would still make her feel better momentarily while tasting the delicious fruit.

Amari on the other hand was feeling a little bored, having Emma be sick meant he hadn’t got to harass and annoy her for most of the trip and he was starting to feel a little restless. Rather than irritate his bond partner though, he would move onto William, hoping the young man would give him some entertainment by sending a small message into his mind.

‘Hey, how cute is Emma when she’s helpless like this?’ Amari would casually comment, sounding quite innocent before adding 'You could basically do whatever you wanted and she wouldn’t be able to fight back.’ to which he would chuckle to himself while waiting to see how the young man would react. However, before they would have much of a chance they would hear the announcement blaring through the speakers, letting them know they were approaching the docks meaning they should grab their stuff and get ready to disembark.

‘Sigh, I will go get the stuff from the cabin, you just take Emma safely off the ship, okay?’ Amari muttered a little annoyed he wasn’t going to fully get to appreciate William’s reaction before racing off down to their cabin and grabbing the two mage’s things rather quickly, taking them with him to the ethereal realm so that he could travel through the ship’s walls rather than around them. Once on deck again, the little spiritual creature would look around for where William had taken Emma before returning to their side. It wouldn’t be long now till they would be entering the guild itself something Amari was looking forward to, the more people to play tricks on the better, in his mind.

Emma would immediately start feeling better the moment they left the ship behind and she found herself on the stable docks of Amber Island’s port town. As the dizziness and nausea left her she would remove herself from William’s side, not wanting to rely on him when she didn’t need it. The last thing she wanted was him taking pity on her, and while she was thankful for his help, she was still annoyed that she didn’t get any apricots after hearing them promised to her. Regardless, for now she would follow him towards the guild hall, standing straight and full of confidence as she prepared herself mentally for how she was going to introduce herself upon arrival. After all it had to be done in a polite and sophisticated manner as to not ruin the Titan name and image.

Will wondered who that stranger with the blonde hair could actually be, to will that man seemed strange, standing alone on the edge of the ship and asking weird questions about the sea. Whoever he was Will would not really care that much right now, there are bigger things to focus on firstly being Emma’s well being, then the guild. As he was basically carrying Emma the boy would realize how small she is compared to him, this was funny to him because back then in their childhood Emma was always the taller one, the tables have turned. The boy then heard Amari talk to him, its been a while since he heard that little guy’s voice in his head like this, not used to it he began to talk to him out loud. “I know right, Emma is super cute and- what!” the boy said as he blushed intensely from the little creature’s words, flustered William would succumb to awkward silence.

The two would then find themselves on land, having their things carried for them by Amari, the boy then shook his head from all of the thoughts that are unfitting of gentleman that Amari himself planted on his head. And began to think about what to do or say when he meets his future peers and superiors in the guild, he did not know what an average person would be thinking or what is the right way to act. But the boy knew what he wanted, he is going to join this guild to be stronger and enforce his brand of justice. He would not be contempt with just being a stronger member but will aim to be as strong as the leaders of the guild, in order to help quill the injustice that happens in the world.

The boy then began to enter throw the archway, it was grand and luxurious fitting for Will’s new home. The boy had a stride as he began think about what kind of people he might meet in there, he was super excited for all of that, he turned to Emma with a big grin on his face. “ahh I am so excited, what do you think the captains gonna look like, my bet is on a burly giant man, that or a dude with scars on his face.” the boy asked Emma, he wanted to see who of them would get it right.

Living on Amber Island as opposed to Magnolia was, to say the least, strange for Illya to handle. The bustling towns and festivals of Magnolia was now replaced by the admittedly slightly dour air of the island. The constant taste of the sea breeze was, to say the least, a pleasant change towards Illya, as was the very symbolism of living on the island. No more Fairy Tail, no more clinging to those past hopes, now she was a member of Dies Irae. She could finally fulfill her wish. She could destroy those guilds that destroyed her. But she was not powerful enough, not by a long shot.

She was so weak, in fact, that she believed herself to be unable to fight in a true sense. As humiliating as some may find it, Illya was almost used to having to beg for a job, especially from her earlier days awake. She had begged Mister Weiss, no, Mister von Weiss, to let her be the greeter for new ships that would be arriving with recruits to Amber Island. Until she could handle herself in a fight, she would refuse to sit around and simply do nothing. She needed to provide some sort of assistance to the island, and even if it was something so simple as being a receptionist, it was no different to her jobs in Magnolia.

This was a strange day, to say the least. Where most ledgers of the incoming ships merely held the business dealings of incoming and outgoing goods, there was a big headline at the top of the ledger on this particular day.

    Incoming Recruits

At seeing this, Illya nearly jumped out of her chair, waking Yemaya from her rest. Before even explaining, she hastily threw her uniform on and made sure she looked as good as possible. This was her chance to prove her worth to the guild that had accepted her so suddenly.

We do not even know when the ship is arriving.

Illya stopped at Yemaya's observation. It was true. The ship had an estimated time, though it was quite the range. Nonetheless, she quickly bounced back from her realization and continued throwing her uniform on. Even if it took a few hours, Illya could at least perform a little concert for the dockworkers. Ever since she gained the ability to use her instrumental requips, she was used to the impromptu concerts. She had made it a habit, almost a routine: seven o'clock in the evening, every day, like clockwork. She would requip an instrument near the arches to the guild hall and begin playing a concert. Some days, she would get some people stop to listen. Others, it was little more than a public practice. She did not mind, though. Even if no one said it, she was confident that it at least provided something to the guild as a whole. Could have just been a boost in morale, could have just been making a single employee in the grand hall that little bit happier on a poor day, it did not matter. She helped someone out, right?

And now, she was hoping to prove her worth in a situation where failure was an option. As she raced to the dock, her heart pounded. What if she flubbed it? What if she said something wrong? What if the new recruit was scared away by her? Yemaya did her best to assuage the God Slayer's fears, but Illya continued racing on towards the dock nonetheless. Luckily enough for her, she did not seem to have to wait long for the ship to arrive. In fact, the ship was just beginning to dock when Illya arrived. She took her breaths quietly, hoping to at least appear prepared while she would introduce herself to the new recruit. No, new recruits. There were three of them present. From simply flying into the island unannounced to now having three people come in the conventional way. It was a change of pace for the girl, but she was always up for a challenge.

You're forgetting that the Ambassador wished for you to greet the recruits at the Grand Hall, not the docks.

Illya stood in silence, still smiling for a moment. All at once, the realization caught up with her as she sprinted back to the Grand Hall, hoping that she would not be noticed. Yemaya followed along closely, telling Illya that Yemaya was trying to tell Illya that very fact the entire time that she raced to the docks.

Luckily, Illya managed to reach the Grand Hall and rest up before the trio arrived. The two in front seemed chipper enough to join, the man especially, but the third one that lagged behind seemed more...exasperated?

"Hello! Welcome to Amber Island! I'm supposing you're the new recruits for Dies Irae? Let's see...looks like we have all three present, but one of you is catching up a bit, it seems. Now then...I'm assuming you're Miss Emma Titan? Pleasure to meet you. Now, as for you other two, I'm not quite certain on the details behind you, but if I remember the picture, you're Mister William Everett, are you not? And that would make you Sage Dreyer, right?" The lagging man finally caught up with the other two as Illya guessed the name. "I'm Illya Pegasus. The Ambassadors, Miss 7 and Mister Weiss-" She coughed. "Mister von Weiss, have a few things they need to take care of, but one of them will be able to help you get your initiation fully underway once they're ready. Until then, I hope that I can answer any questions that you might have about us, or at least I can maybe provide a bit of entertainment? I'm pretty good with instruments and singing, and I've even done a bit of acting on the side as well, but that's really neither here nor there, but maybe just talking would be a bit better to handle? Right? I've already told you a bit about myself, but I think it would be awesome to get to know you guys a bit better as well while we wait, right? I mean, I'm a bit new myself so I think it would be so awesome to learn all about fellow newbies like me and find out what you're all capable of. Oh, right! Capabilities! Magic! All that! What do you guys have for your magics? Maybe....oooh, maybe one of you is one of those people that can shapeshift their bodies to look different! What was it called again..? Sorry! I'm a bit new to magic myself. Oh! Right! Myself! I'm a God Slayer, I guess? I'm not really sure what it means but it's all good, right?" She slapped her cheeks. "Focus, Illya! This is about meeting the newbies, not talking about yourself! Right! So, you three! How was your trip? If I'm remembering correctly, the weather's been nice the past few days, so you probably haven't had much trouble with sea sickness or all that, but if you did, then I'm sure I can heal you right up! Oh, if that's okay with you of course! Wouldn't want to just impose my own healing on you guys, though I hope you don't need it. W-wait, not like that. Uh...I mean I hope your trip was safe and sturdy enough that you didn't get sick! I'd hate to see you newbies get sick and-"

Yemaya sighed, pausing Illya's train of thought. She then spoke to the group as a whole. "I very much apologize for the child's...erratic behavior. She has bouts of enthusiasm like this, and she never stops talking. Please, if you are so willing, it would be lovely if you would tell us about yourselves. That is the crux of what Illya is trying to say."

Illya smiled, patting Yemaya on the head. "Aww, thanks Yemaya! Oh, right! This is Yemaya! She's-"

Yemaya said nothing, merely glaring at her ward. Illya stopped talking, and focused her efforts on listening instead to the three newcomers.

Sage picked his stuff up and climbed down the ship. When he stepped on ember island, he could feel a shift in energy in his body. It was as if he was destined to be there, like life had something huge planned for him in the future. Whilst holding his leather suitcase, the blonde walked towards the Dies Irae guild. Though in the middle of his journey, he saw William, the man that he talked to on the ship with his friend beside him. As soon as Sage saw the two of them he took a detour to a nearby shop, he acted as if he was looking for something and acted busy, the shopkeeper looked at him and kindly asked, "Is there anything I can help you?", Sage looked at the old shopkeeper and smiled awkwardly, "Er, no thanks I'm fine." he said.

He lagged his journey towards Dies Irae as he knew he had to face William again. Though William did not know that he was going there. Sage was afraid to face him again, the level of awkwardness was just surreal. But there was nothing he could do, he must face his fears and move forward. He took a deep breath, filling his lung cavity with air and slowly releases the air back into the air. This helps him recenter himself and focus on the task at hand.

Sage walked on, the beautiful dome of the Dies Irae guild came into sight. He was amazed by its beauty and laid his eyes on it a bit longer, admiring the effort put into building it. Sage then noticed that there was a lady with pink hair greeting the two others. Sage swallowed his saliva, he had to prepare himself for a social interaction. He began rehearsing what he wanted to say in his mind over and over so that he won't make a fool out of himself.

Once he reached them, the girl with the pink hair turned to him and addressed his name. "Y-Yes, I am." he replied shyly. He then glanced shortly at the other two recruits, but only for a short while as he was too shy.

The pink haired girl then introduced herself, and at the mention of God Slayer, Sage interested peaked a little, but then that was that. For a good few minutes Illya kept talking and talking, which might be a good thing since that would mean that Sage didn't have to say anything. His cheeks turned a little bit red when Illya mentioned something regarding take over magic as he wield that sort of magic. Then suddenly the conversation started to get more awkward and Sage could feel the imbalance that Illya was giving off. Suddenly a white bird like creature stopped her from causing more discord.

Listening to the bird like creature speak, Sage could feel something about her. He was attracted to her calm demeanor and gentle voice. It gave him a bit of reassurance inside and he felt easier to open up. After the other two had introduced themselves first, naturally, it would be Sage's turn. When everybody looked at him and waited for him to speak up, his cheeks would turn a little hue of red due to being a very shy person. "Err, I am Sage Dreyer, you can call me Sage and err, I am a Take Over magic user and umm, I join the guild to restore the balance in the world." he opened up about himself with the last point a little more energetic as it was one of his motivation. But then that was it he would purse his lips and looked back onto the ground, too shy to look at anyone in the eyes, especially William. They both had a rough first impressions of one another.

Entering the grand dome like guild hall Emma would take note of the architecture and choice of materials, she had to say she thoroughly approved of the decoration choices. The red and gold banners contrasted well on the solid, grey granite. Yes, she could definitely see herself working for such a well established guild such as this. It almost made the fact she would have to take a ship to and from it worthwhile…. Almost. William’s words would interrupt her thoughts though and despite all the years that had passed since they had last been together as friends, Emma was starting to realise that he hadn’t changed all that much, at least when it came to his intelligence, or lack thereof and his ability to communicate easily with others. The latter was something the ethereal mage had always been slightly jealous of, not that she ever had, or would, admit it.

Emma wouldn’t have time to react to William’s enthusiasm on who the guild leader would be before the two of them were greeted by a pink haired girl that immediately made Emma irritated. Her chipper and outgoing personality was made evident straight up, her energy matching, or perhaps even greater than that of William’s own as she asked if she were Emma Titan. The ethereal mage would simply nod, not bothering with words, even if she had wanted to speak up she wouldn’t have been able to get a word in edgewise regardless as the young lass just kept droning on and on about seemingly random things to do with the guild that were in Emma’s opinion completely irrelevant right now.

‘Did they really send someone so… annoying to greet us?’ Emma would ask Amari through telepathy, not wanting to insult a future guild member straight up quite yet.

‘Awe don’t be like that, she seems sweet!’ Amari chuckled in response to which Emma had to hold back from rolling her eyes lest the girl see, ‘and her little bird thing is sort of cute.’ he continued, which led Emma’s eyes to stray away from the girl that continued to talk ceaselessly towards the strange bird-like creature instead.

‘I guess.’ Emma inwardly sighed, hoping this would be over sooner rather than later. On and on the girl continued to ramble till the creature next to her finally intercepted and apologised on Illya’s behalf. Before being cut off again, she would say the creature’s name was Yemaya, the first thing Emma had been half interested in to be honest, she had always found magical creatures and beasts to be interesting and learning about them was one of her hobbies. The ethereal mage wasn’t sure if it was fortunate or unfortunate that the girl was forced to stop talking by her familiar at this point as now it seemed they wanted to talk about themselves.

“I am Emma Titan and my magic harnesses energy from the ethereal realm which is conducted through Amari.” The ethereal mage muttered quickly, glazing over just who and what Amari was as she just wanted this stupid introduction to be over and done with as soon as possible. After her and William said their parts Emma would turn to the third and final new recruit, someone that didn’t seem quite as outspoken as the other two people with her.

Emma wondered if perhaps he was feeling a little ill as his face flushed a slight pink hue. Maybe that was his reason for being quiet? Well, it didn’t matter either way, it wasn’t her issue to deal with. If he was sick then perhaps he should learn to deal with it so it wouldn't affect others around him. What he had to say about his magic left her with a few questions though, take over magic was not something she was familiar with, to see it in action one day would be nice. However, his reasons for joining the guild made her snicker out loud.

“Heh.” Was all Emma would say in response to the boy’s introduction as she considered his wording on the matter sort of childish.

‘You realise your own goals are not that dissimilar right?’ Amari teased.

‘Please he doesn’t seem to have a clue to how the world works, bringing ‘balance’ to it, that’s simply laughable. I wish to bring ORDER to it, completely different.’ Emma retorted, convinced that her goal was far superior and more mature.

Bored of being ignored Amari would finally decide to manifest in the physical realm, choosing to rest on Emma’s shoulder as he did. Taking on the form of the small rodent like creature he was so fond of being in for some inexplicable reason despite the fact he could practically transform into any form he wanted.

“That’s quite the goal there, blondie.” Amari would chuckle in Sage’s direction, hoping to the shy boy off-guard. His choice of words however, caused Emma to cross her arms as she sighed and rolled her eyes. “Emma did a terrible job of introducing me, but I’m Amari, her BEEEESSSST Friend.” he added nuzzling his pink cheek on Emmas causing her face to contort slightly as she grew more agitated.

‘Go away already.’ Emma hissed telepathically.

‘No way, this is so much fun, you should make friends with them all.’ Amari giggled to himself.

    ‘Not in a million years.’

William was waiting to meet an authority figure, someone to meet so they can help him see if he fits in this guild or not. But they were met with a very interesting person, a young looking girl that was quite pretty, not more than Emma but she was still fine. William wanted to open his mouth and talk to her, perhaps use some of his gentlemanly charm on her, but alas once she started talking it did not look like an end was in site. The blue eyed man would cross his arm, patiently waiting for a chance to talk.

Hey hey if it’s not aqua boy, it’s nice to see you are joining. And yeah the name is William Everett, I am a requip mage and well I am here to join the guild as well for my own reasons.” The boy said finding no reason to disclose anymore information about himself, for all he knows those other people are strangers and he shouldn’t just trust them so easily. “Say lady Illya you are simply breathtaking but I am in kind of a rush, how long will it be till we can meet Von Weiss or seven?” The man asked giving Illya a faint smile, he was a man that usually enjoyed pleasantries but today was far too important he needed to know if he should join or not.

Amalie placed down her empty tea-cup on the coaster positioned in front of her on Johann's desk, sitting back in her seat as she did so. "That was lovely," She remarked to the man sat across from her. The two of them just having shared a lunch whipped up for them from the mess hall, after wanting to take advantage of a rare opportunity to share a break together. She had as usual filled him in on her usual workload, the bane that was her apprentice Joffrey, and the details of the ominous serial killer she was tracking. The case that the magic council had told her to drop, the case that in spite of this, she just couldn't bring herself to. "Anyway I'm debating involving a Rune Knight in the investigation, there's one I know that is pretty good at handling things. I fought alongside him at River Island a while back and he might be ideal to have work on this case. Perhaps I'll be able to sway the magic council if we drag in a more lawfully influenced  authority." She mused to him, wondering what his thought on this case was, she made it clear she wanted to take the lead on this one, it irked her. This killer going around targetting young woman, violating them, torturing them, and removing their wombs. It sickened her, and she wanted nothing to rid the world of his abhorrent existence. But there were powers in her way, stopping her from doing so.

"Their reasoning for not allowing me to pursue him is baffling Johann, 'we wish to not antagonize The Maiden Killer, he is known for taking any form of pursuit very personally and will destroy the lives of anyone who tracks him, leaving even greater massacres in his wake in comparison to his usual MO.' It's outrageous is what it is, allowing him to continue to kill as he pleases just for the sake of not pissing the bastard off." She commented through gritted teeth. She reached forward, about to pour herself another cup of tea when a knock on his office door stopped her. She glanced around, surprised anyone would feel the need to interrupt them during their alleged 'breaktime'. However, as the door opened and the familiar for of her nervous assistant peaked round, Amalie rolled her eyes. "Um...E-er... Sorry to erm... interrupt. It's just that, there seems to be a group of recruits have arrived that need initiating. They are waiting in the main hall." Amalie sighed, glancing back at Johann.

"A group huh, Thank you Joffrey. We'll be out shortly, could you take all of this back to the kitchens?" Joffrey nodded rushing forward to gather their plates and cups. Amalie's ice blue eyes watched in an almost hawklike manner at the haphazard way he stacked the items, and of course as she expected, moments after he carried them out of the door. There was the sound of a yelp, followed by the loud smashing sounds of broken china. Amalie bit the inside of her cheek, shutting her eyes for a moment to quell the instant irritation. "You know, I'm still not entirely convinced you assigning him to me wasn't a prank." She pushed her chair back, standing up and opening her eyes once more, she slid her fingers don the front of her uniform, a small attempt to neaten up before meeting the next haul of potential new members. "Shall we go size up the latest batch of neophytes then?" She asked him, her tone a hint more playful than before.

After giving Joffrey a hearty berating, following by the short walk from Johann's office to the guildhall, the Commander and the Ambassador would soon arrive in the guildhall. Whereas Joffrey has put a group was indeed waiting for them, along with one of their current members who seemed to be waiting. "My, my, this is quite a gathering," She remarked loudly, a means to let the group know they had arrived. "Welcome to Dies Irae, are you all here for recruitment?" She would ask in a polite manner.

[OPEN] Dies Irae's Disappointing New Disciples HOtaKzb

The Ambassador took a sip from the teacup within his hands, the dull, caramel-colored liquid inside swirling softly as he did, before placing it before himself, the gentle, bitter taste of Earl Grey, which was promptly followed up with a hint of sweetness from sugar and milk, lingering in his mouth for a few passing seconds as he listened. It was indeed rare that the silver-haired man would be able to catch a break such as this one, and even then, it was reluctantly taken, given the due paperwork, Johann shooting an almost pouting glance over to a stack of sheets on his desk before returning to the lunch. Still, given the nature of their work, Johann spent not as much time with Amalie as he himself would have hoped, and, fearing that it was not enough time, he, of course, had agreed to a lunch with the Commander in the shared Ambassador's office, paying intent attention to Amalie's current concern revolving around a peculiar serial killer, something the God of Ishgar had, while only in passing, heard about before. "The Rune Knights are certainly a competent bet, I would assume", he replied in a simple, neutral tone, seemingly not sharing the same irritation as Amalie, which was, for everyone that knew the Ambassador, of course, far from the truth. At least in his role as one of the leaders of Dies Irae he had learned to suppress the simmering anger he felt with more appropriate emotions and impressions, though controlling the feeling that Mars' presence bestowed upon him was an entirely different matter.

"Well, if you want my opinion on that, that's where Dies Irae's methods would prove beneficial to this case, given our ... outlook. You know how the Magic Council acts, though. Concerned with their prestige first and foremost", the man would comment, making his own thoughts on the matter known in a perhaps slightly accusatory way regarding the people that were technically supposed to hold some influence within this guild. More or less, at the least. There was, however, not much time for further discussion regarding this topic, given that the door to the office would swing open after a brief knock, a young man that the Ambassador recognized as James, no, Jeff, Amalie's assistant, entering. The young man explained that, seemingly, a group of recruits had arrived at the guildhall, expecting to see someone of authority. Johann sighed softly, having half-expected any kind of interruption, seeing his expectations confirmed. The man promptly rose from his seat, picking up the black hat that usually complimented his uniform and placing it on his head, making sure to tuck the strands of somewhat messy, argent-hued hair underneath it before pulling his cloak over his shoulders, making for the exit of the office after Amalie without saying a word or otherwise acknowledging the boy, only shooting a swift look over his shoulder when he heard the shattering of porcelain, a quick thought passing through the man's mind. "I hope he cleans that up ...".

"By no means", he would swiftly respond to the Commander with an almost sly grin, forcing himself to suppress the giggle that would have normally accompanied such. "I am entirely convinced that you will shape him into a superb soldier, and who knows, maybe you two might end up becoming friends, after all". The man crossed his arms behind his back, the sword on his belt rocking back and forth gently with each echoing step over the polished marble floors of the hallway. "But of course, Commander West. After you", he smirked, placing a playful emphasis on the word "Commander", the mix of a professional relationship adherent to the rank structure of the guild and their own personal relationship presenting a situation that was rather humorous than anything to the God of Ishgar.

Adjusting to her pace, Johann walked alongside Amalie until eventually, after a short bit, they would reach the Throne Hall itself, Johann, from afar, already laying eyes on the new bunch, as well as a familiar face, when they approached. Wordlessly, Johann stepped up alongside the Commander, scanning all of them individually with a neutral expression for a short few moments before turning to face Illya, giving the Neophyte a nod. Amalie had already asked the relevant question, Johann preferring to listen to what they had to say first before he would step in himself, for the time being, at least. Nonetheless, the man, as always, remained curious, watching expectingly.

When Mister von Weiss entered, Illya smiled and gave a quick bow, Yemaya shortly following suit, craning her neck as she perched on Illya's shoulder. "Just as the ledger said, we got all three new recruits riiiight here! We got Miss Emma Titan, Mister Sage Dreyer, and Mister William Everett!" She pointed out each of the three upcoming Neophytes as she said their names. She had been too focused on the fact that Mister von Weiss was present that she had completely overlooked Miss West's presence there as well. "Ah! Miss West! Pleasure to see you here as well! Sooo sorry if we accidentally interrupted some business, buuut we have these new guys here! Wait, I already introduced them, whoops!" He giggled, laughing at her own "joke." "Right! So! While we were waiting, I decided to get a bit more of info on the group! Y'know, magics and all that stuff. Miss Titan's a user of bond magic with her little Amani there, on her shoulder. Mister Everett uses requip magic-" She cut herself off and smiled. "If I remember, you use some Requip magic, too, right, Mister Weiss? Er...Mister von Weiss?" She chuckled lightly, hoping that he did not mind the slip-up. "Finally, Mister Dreyer uses TakeOver magic! Oh! And motivations! Always important to know what people are all about, right? U-unfortunately I couldn't get too much out of Mister Everett or Miss Titan, but Mister Dreyer said he wanted to bring balance to the world! Such a noble obligation, right? I mean, I know everyone has their own goals and motivations, and I'm sure you do as well, Miss West and Mister von Weiss, but it's always nice to find out why everyone wants to help out Dies Irae! Dont' worry, you can always be open with us, Miss Titan and Mister Everett, don't worry!" Illya smiled. "Now then, I suppose I've introduced you to the newbies, Mister von Weiss and Miss West, but I think we should now go the other way around! Emma, William, Sage? Meet Miss Amalie West, our Commander. She's not as high ranked as Mister von Weiss, but she's a force to be reckoned with, from all accounts. I myself haven't really had the honor of getting to see her in combat, I mean honestly I haven't really gotten to see anyone much in combat, like, ever, but that's really besides the point because Miss West and Mister von Weiss are both really strong in combat, or at least so I am told and...I'm repeating myself, so I should move on to Mister von Weiss. He's one of the Ten Wizard Saints of Fiore, and one of the Gods of Ishgar, in fact! Even without seeing him in combat, I already know that he's someone that's super powerful, and not really someone you would ever want to mess with. Of course, as I mentioned to you guys before, Mister von Weiss is also one of the Ambassadors of Dies Irae, so I suppose he's really the one you would technically be looking for, but Miss West is perfectly capable of doing a bunch of this stuff as well, but I suppose that since Mister von Weiss is here as well he should be able to begin your guys's initiations! Now, if I recall, I heard some porcelain shatter, so I had better help out with that. Mister von Weiss is very fond of his tea, so if someone accidentally broke one of the teacups or plates or...something, then that could mean some bad news for the rest of us! After all, wouldn't want to see an angry wizard saint, right? If either of you need me, Mister von Weiss or Miss West, feel free to just say the word! I should be able to lead them to their quarters if need be. Oh! Otherwise, Yemaya can stay here as well, so just tell her and she should be able to get in touch!"

With that, Illya took a bow, setting Yemaya down on the ground as she quickly walked out towards the sound of the shattering porcelain. Yemaya looked around confusedly for a moment, before seemingly sighing and growing in size to roughly that of a horse.

"I suppose if that is what the child wants, I shall stay here as well. So hyperactive, that girl..." Yemaya's telepathy did a poor job of hiding the slight air of frustration with her ward's enthusiasm. Nonetheless, she waited alongside the two higher-ups and the three newbies.

His motivations, the very sole thing that made him get off his bed, was disregarded with a simple 'heh'. He knew it sounded childish and immature, but who cares it was what he would fight for. Hues of pink began to appear on his cheeks as he felt very embarrassed for saying it out loud like that. He did not know why he would say such stupid things. He felt very stupid and wants to run away and hide somewhere far far away. But no. He wanted to join Dies Irae and help to restore balance to the world that had been corrupted countless times before, but every each time there is a hero, ready to bring back the balance that had been disturbed.

One of his inspirations is one of the Gods of Ishgar, the Saint of Justice, Johann von Weiss. Who was the ambassador of the Dies Irae guild. His story is known throughout the continent, but Sage had read many things about him that kept him motivated. He remembers the story of how Johann fought along in the fight of a monster invasion and stopped it, not once but thrice. How he had stopped dark guilds from terrorizing the land. But the one he remembered the most was the story of how Johann fought an army of demons and a demon lord. In his eyes, Johann is a hero.

Out of thin air, a rodent-like creature appeared on Emma's shoulder. Who Sage thought was pretty cute. The creature told him that he got quite a goal, which made him smile a bit. With that short reassurance, he could feel his spirit being rekindled one more, who cares if someone thinks he is childish? He can do whatever he wants and nobody can stop him. Seeing the cute creature introducing himself, Sage could only smile more, maybe let a soft little chuckle out.

Then a voice that surely didn't belong to any of the other 5 of them could be heard, echoing through the guildhall as her voice loud and clear. Sage turned to face the direction of the origin of the voice, and as soon as he laid eyes upon her long blue hair and cold icy eyes, he instantly knew who she was. She was the commander of Dies Irae, known for her charisma and strength. She was no nobody. She also fought alongside Johann against the demons. She was Amalie Jane West. Sage looks up to her and wish he could learn something from her one day as well.

Sage then saw Johann himself, in the flesh, standing beside Amalie. He could already feel his palms sweating and his heart beats faster and faster. He was nervous to face Johann. He was afraid if he suddenly embarrassed himself like he always do and he was afraid if he did something wrong, like he always did. His anxiety kicked in, he began to think of things that wasn't happening and might not happen. As the other two would answer Amalie's question like a normal person Sage would be found static, too afraid to speak until he realized what was happening and answered,

"Y-yes." he would answer her question shortly and awkwardly, while standing straight with both his hands on his side, showing respect to the higher ranked members of Dies Irae.

As Illya introduced them to the ambassador and the commander, Sage looked at the floor, not daring to even look at the two in the eyes and suddenly locking his eyes with one of them. His cheeks would turn a shade of pink as his name was said out loud, the same thing happened when Illya told them what his magic was. But when she told them what his motivation was his whole face turned into a red cherry that is about to pop, he sank his head lower and placed his hands on his back, too shy to even look at anyone, he felt like running away and hiding somewhere far far away again. But no he did not run, he stick his ground and just wait for the embarrassing moment to pass by. Because he really really want to join the guild.

Illya kept on talking and talking, her voice was getting more and more annoying but Sage wouldn't care about it as he was very very very embarrassed. Finally she left, leaving the three of them with her bird pet, Johann and Amalie. Sage swallowed his saliva down his throat, readying himself to face the lot.

[OPEN] Dies Irae's Disappointing New Disciples Empty Re: [OPEN] Dies Irae's Disappointing New Disciples

Post by Aoi 3rd January 2020, 12:46 pm

There was peace and quiet in the hall today and oh boy did it feel so good to have that after so long. Being so nomadic with her friend left them both without a chance or time for them to be able to find a place for them to relax, but her assumption was that since Kalama wasn’t around at the moment, she was probably hiding away in her room asleep or meditating, or something else boring. Whatever. She loved her fried dearly, don’t get that wrong, however she wasn’t attached by the hip to her and since they were both accepted in, all she wanted to do was find answers for the two. Whatever helped them both get through this and be better on the other side was what they both wanted.

Today however, was not one of those days. When a day like this came around, it was best to sleep it away. Something that helped ease her own curse was copious amounts of sleep. So if a chance arose that she could do that, she wouldn’t hesitate to cash in on the opportunity. Plus it gave her time to be able to day dream about things, so there was always that. Firstly being some alternate reality of not having a curse anymore, maybe back doing the normal farm work she used to do. Another of just her and her friend sitting around and having something like coffee outside of a cafe and enjoying themselves as the normal people they once were. Sleep related goals perhaps? Maybe some day. But for now, she was here, ready, and willing to do whatever she had to do to help.

Something began to bug the sleeping brunette. The sound of voices disturbing her nap had begun to make her a little uneasy. What was once a comfortable sleep was become a little restless and agitating. First it was just one voice, followed by a second. Then the cursed woman began hearing several more just below her and she let out a small huff into the mouthguard she wore whole she slept. The whole commotion was becoming more and more annoying, and as much as she wanted to throw a rock down to shut the bunch up, that wasn’t an option given the place she was laying at, napping.

At first, there was a thought that crossed her mind that if Kal was here, she’d be having panic attacks from the amount of people around, which only made her smile and roll over. That was her mistake. In rolling over, she had fallen from the perch she laid on and fell to the floor, crashing onto the ground beside the entire bunch gathered. At first, she made no movement, but the impact shook the girl from her sleep. Aoi cracked her eyes open, seeing the several pairs of feet in front of her from where she laid had no real reaction from her. Instead, the brunette stretched out and then rubbed her eyes, standing up to her feet and brushing her clothes out. Looking around, the only one she could pick from the crowd was Johann, so... without any further ado, she simply waved to the others. Refusing to attempt to speak at the moment, it’s what she could resolve herself to do... that and take in the very attractive faces and bodies of those around her.

Out of the corner of her ocean coloured eyes, Emma would spy two older looking people approach the group. They wore the uniforms of the guild and strode with a sense of importance leading her to believe they were more than likely the people they had been waiting for in order to actually join Dies Irae. Emma was about to step up and introduce herself confidently to the older woman, hoping to gain some respect from her in return, however, before she could even do so the chatter-box Illya had already been released upon the group as she started rabbiting on non-stop once more. The ethereal mage would simply continue to keep her arms folded and sigh as her irritation for the pink haired idiot continued to well up inside her.

Honestly if she wasn’t trying to make a good impression on the two more important figures in the guild right now she would have immediately shut the pretty little bimbo down and told her to straight up ‘shut up’. Still, she was half useful as eventually she finally introduced the two by their full names confirming Emma’s suspicions that the older gentleman was indeed the Ambassador of the guild her father had spoken of. Emma’s overwhelming amount of self-confidence was the complete opposite of the blonde haired boy beside her. She didn’t hesitate to lock eyes with either of the two leading officers. A tactic that would show them that she was more than capable and worthy of their guidance, or at least she assumed.

Amari on the other hand was completely ignoring the entire conversation his eyes locked onto the beauty that was the blue haired female that Illya referred to as ‘Miss Amalie West’. Immediately he would intrude on Emma’s thoughts with his own.

‘Oh my isn’t she gorgeous?’ Amari cooed, his eyes practically glistening if anyone were to pay attention to them.

‘I suppose.’ Emma answered, honestly beauty was not something she cared too deeply about, but she could admit that the woman was fairly beautiful after scanning over her properly.

‘Suppose? IT IS OBVIOUS TO ANYONE WITH A PAIR OF EYES, SO OPEN YOURS!’ Amari internally screamed inside the ethereal mage’s mind making her wince slightly at his overwhelming enthusiasm on the matter.

‘If you like her so much why don’t you marry her?’ Emma retorted, holding back the urge to roll her eyes.

‘That’s a great idea!’ Amari squealed before leaping off of the raven haired mage’s shoulder. It took Emma a moment before she realised what was about to happen her eyes widening as she watched the scene unfold.

‘WAIT I WASN'T SERIOUS!’ Emma internally screamed trying to stop him but to no avail, the little shit that was her magic partner was about to make a fool out of her and she had no way to stop him.

Growing in size much like the bird creature Yemaya, but rather than staying an adorable rodent creature he would become more humanoid till he resembled in his mind the sight of a handsome princely man. With flowing golden locks of hair, piercing blue eyes and face more handsome than any regular human would be capable of without magic. He would stand at six foot tall, muscularly built before kneeling before the blue haired mage, holding one hand to his heart and the other outstretched towards Amalie in the hope she would accept him.

“My lady, you are the most beautiful flower I have ever laid eyes on, please marry me.” Amari would state with a much deeper and more masculine voice than he usually had. However, before Amalie had time to answer him properly a loud crash would be heard as someone appeared to fall from above and disrupt the moment, causing the ethereal being’s attention to be drawn elsewhere.

Emma could only stand there completely riveted to the spot, horrified at how Amari was conducting himself right now and honestly a little relieved the tension was broken by someone else in the moment. Another female, this one with long dark brown hair who simply waved at the group, not bothering to speak. Immediately making Emma like her more than Illya.

William would simply be overwhelmed by the quality of people that all showed up to greet him and the two other mages with him, it almost felt like being in an ice cream shop that has 31 flavors, from the shy quite ones like aqua boy to the uh well more eccentric characters like Illya. However luckily for the black haired man, two important looking people showed up to greet them. Introduced as mister Weiss and miss West, William wanted to speak up but well Illya was hogging it all so the boy just tuned her out again, she did not say anything of use really so paying attention to her right now was not necessary to him.

However after a quick scan of the area he saw someone else join the fray, a girl with dark hair, light eyes she was pretty. William wanted to try his gentlemanly charm on her but well, this was not the time for it as more important matters was at hand. He would then see Amari go off and pull a very interesting stunt, he went on and purposed to miss west, who Will has to admit is one stunning lady. However tried his best to put on a serious face as on the inside the young Everett was practically dying out of laughter, this was just too good to be true. Thinking about what Emma must be feeling is enough to make the boy want to laugh out loud, but he will be sort of professional today.

“ahem well, uh this is an interesting turn of events. Please excuse my friend over there, I assume the stunning beauty of miss west just made him act irrationally.” The boy would say before walking forward, eyes burning with determination. Not a single hint of hesitation on his voice.

“from what I heard lady Illya told us, it seems like you two can help us. I believe she already said a lot about me, so allow me to join your guild. I shall use my magic to fight for justice and peace.” William was hoping to receive a positive answer, he was told that Dies should be the place that can help achieve his goals.

    Amalie

Amalie's icy gaze was pulled to the existing member as she immediately set about introducing the recruits individually. Amalie nodded, about to set about introducing herself, except before she could the girl spoke again. As though only noticing the woman was there despite the fact she'd been the first to address themselves out of herself and Johann, her eyes would narrow a fraction, listening as the girl proceeded to ramble on for quite some time. Amalie would turn her gaze to Johann, tonguing the inside of her cheek in irritation, the woman wasn't exactly good with people of this nature. If anyone knew that all too well it was Johann, her tolerance may have grown since working with Dies Irae, but it hadn't grown nearly enough for this. Particularly when the girl started to talk about the Commander's abilities, considering this was the first time the two of them had met, Amalie wasn't able to contain her scowl. Following which when the woman started talking as though a broken teacup could result in a serious catastrophe as though the Ambassador was a loose cannon, it took Amalie all her willpower not to pull her gun and hit her with a stun shot.

As the girl's speech finally came to an end and as she was about to rush off to help Joffrey, Amalie quickly interjected. "Actually, whatever it is that your name is, don't tell me, I don't care. It was Joffrey who broke those plates, and it is Joffrey's job to clean them up, you will not interfere. But feel free to make yourself scarce regardless, also... in the future, when your Ambassador or Commander enter a room, you will do well to let us introduce ourselves. Your little speech there was rather eccentric, not to mention lacking in it's accuracy. Especially considering this is the first time that you and I have actually met, and under no circumstance have I ever permitted you to refer to me as Miss West. I am first and foremost your commander and you will address me as such. The same applies to your 'Ambassador'." She turned to Johann, her face mimicking a false sense of concern, "Was that okay for me to say Ambassador? I wouldn't want you to blow up and kill us all over a little misinformation and broken teacup." She remarked, her tone laced with sarcasm. With a roll of her eyes, she turned to inspect the others, patience significantly more sparse than it had been moments ago. If there was anything that Amalie couldn't stand, it was overzealous kiss ups.

Her blue eyes scanned the blonde boy, who had answered her in a rather awkward and shy manner when she first greeted them. Her frosty glazed looked him over, before hearing a loud thud of something falling to the floor. As she looked upon the girl who was apparently taken a nap, Amalie shut her eyes, looking at Johann she decided to let him address that matter. Her gaze moved back to the other recruit, the girl, Emma as she'd be introduced. She seemed at least to be carrying a little more self-confidence, accompanied by a mousey creature. A creature that suddenly leapt forward, moving towards Amalie, transforming before her to a blonde prince-type fellow. He knelt there, looking up at her in a way that could only be described as amorous before the most ridiculous request left his lips.

    Amalie, almost smirked, almost.

Had it not been from the irksome occurrences before this, she might have found this scenario amusing, but there was definitely a sense of unprofessionalism here. Something that was making quite the joke of Dies Irae. She glanced back at Johann and sighed, before looking down at the once-rat-now-human-man. "I'd rather swallow glass." She stated in a cold, merciless tone. It seemed that at this point, the last and remaining recruit would speak up, clearly trying to diffuse a rather chaotic situation, something that at least the blue-haired woman would find tolerable. Allowing him to confirm his intentions to join the guild before offering her own thoughts on the matter, "I appreciate the sentiment Mr Everett, but I'm going to need a little more convincing. Are you prepared to do whatever it takes for justice, or is this just another fun activity for you to do whilst you hang out with your friends. Because trust me, if it's the latter, then none of you will survive a month here. This is life or death, can you honestly tell me that you're prepared for that?"

Almost as soon as he had taken his position, the newly joined Neophyte, Illya, began speaking in a fashion that was entirely characteristical for her, one by one introducing the set of new arrivals that were lined up before both the Ambassador and the Commander of Dies Irae. One after the other, Johann acknowledged them with a look as their names were called, making sure to memorize the names associated with the respective new face, before his gaze would trail off to Miss Pegasus, who, in a way that was perhaps best categorized as unwise, kept babbling on, about everything and nothing in particular at the same time, Johann not failing to notice the shift in the mood when he glanced over to his Commander, the blue-haired woman appearing none too pleased. A circumstance that normally would've brought a somewhat teasing grin on his face, but given the situation, something of that sort was neither appropriate nor welcome, surely. The Ambassador couldn't help but follow these events with curious eyes, yet unmovingly neutral expression, the tension in the air only growing with every passing comment from Illya. It seemed, however, that that wasn't all. Even before the girl has finished her monologue, a loud thud directed Johann's attention away from the group and towards another corner of the Throne Hall, the silver-haired Ambassador staring right at another girl, who he knew as Aoi, that had seemingly fallen from the ceiling. A quick glance upwards and then back at her with a raised eyebrow didn't make the man any wiser, the girl with the unmistakable mouthguard waving as if nothing had happened, in a way that was almost casual in nature. What kind of business would someone have up there? No matter. The enthusiasm was, for the time being, not exactly well-placed, Johann gesturing for Aoi to move on and go back to her business, perhaps for her own good.

Johann took a deep breath, a noticeable sigh leaving his lips. It seemed that what Johann slowly came to see as a display reminding more of a clown show than an introduction was not yet over, though, a creature manifesting beside one of the recruits and, with excessive vigor, stepping forward in a peculiar transformation, promptly proposing to none other than his girlfriend. The man did his best to maintain a relaxed and stoic facade, though particularly perceptive individuals would notice the appearance of wrinkles between the Ambassador's furrowed brows, his eyes narrowing ever-so-slightly, one of the newcomers, in what the Rune Mage had to admit was a well-meaning, but, especially to the Ambassador, poorly worded and misplaced effort to defuse the situation. And as he had reckoned, Amalie was not amused, Johann, frankly, sharing her sentiment, the woman promptly beginning to figuratively tear into Illya. One might have almost felt sorry for her, had she not rambled on for the better portion of minutes. When Amalie turned from her to himself, if even for the short period of only a few passing moments, the Ambassador couldn't suppress an awkward smirk. An expression that changed into a grin when she dismissed the creature-turned-blonde in a way that was unapologetically direct, Johann pinching the bridge of his nose between two fingers as he shook his best, a silent, defeated chuckle moving his chest with every short breath.

The Ambassador straightened his back, locking his hands behind his back once more as his expression, apart from raised eyebrows, returned back to a somewhat neutral one, the man clearing his throat. He, of course, had his own things to say about what had just happened, taking a deep breath, waiting for a quiet moment before letting his raised voice echo through the throne hall. "Very well, enough is enough", at first turning his head to the black-haired boy who had stepped forward.

"I'm sorry to say that Commander West is absolutely correct, Mister Everett. From what I am seeing here, if this is the degree of discipline you would display in a combat operation how could you rely on your comrades, let alone yourselves?". Johann's words were spoken with a tone that was uncharacteristically raw, but ultimately well-meaning. He moved on. "Miss Titan, correct? Your ... friend here suffers from a distinct lack of self-control, a trait that would be most welcome, should he bother to find out if he can discover such on his person", he noted, moving on to the creature. "One of the staples of Dies Irae is respect, an attribute you seem to possess in no discernable quantity". His head turned to Illya next. "Miss Pegasus, I appreciate your effort, but a little less enthusiasm is appropriate. Please". His tone twirled off towards a slightly defeated note at the end of his statement. The blonde-haired boy wouldn't be spared, either. "Mister Dreyer, I assume? Your goal is noble and your cause admirable, but I, forgive my directness, must ask you, how do you intend to fight dark mages if simply introducing yourself already presents an insurmountable task?".

"Now ...", the man continued, his eyes narrowing once more as he took a step forward, letting his gaze wander over everyone present once more. "... I assume that you all are familiar with the guild's goals and methods. Considering this, tell me why I should allow you to join Dies Irae. What qualities, besides the capability to put on a comedy unlike any other, do you contribute to our cause? I will be honest with you, I am anything but convinced. That said ...", he spoke, his tone calming with a deep sigh, "... for your own sakes, let us try this again, one more time, and without interruption", his eyes trailing off to Illya and Aoi for just a second.

"As you know, this is Commander West, and I am Ambassador von Weiss -", the man making a point to place emphasis on their titles, "- and as representatives of Dies Irae we would like to know precisely why you have made the long journey to Amber Island, your reasoning behind your desire to join the ranks of the guild, and what you think qualifies you to do so". In truth, Johann hated this, and under every other kind of circumstance would've overlooked or ignored the series of events that were anything but professional. As Ambassador, though, he, understandably, had to keep up appearances, of course, this coupled with the fact that his own annoyance with the way this thing had gone down had begun showing, even if only in the slightest of ways, giving the man a much harsher tone and demeanor than normal.

The words that Miss West spoke were harsh, stabbing through Illya like a knife and with their disgustingly bitter taste. When Mister von Weiss shared a similarly sour taste of his words, it shoved the girl deeper into despair.

"O-oh...okay, Miss West...and Mister von Weiss...I'll take my leave then..."

Sulking over to the nearest wall, she bonked her head against it before slowly sliding down into a squat. A dark, somewhat visible cloud of black air churned around her head as she stared at the point where wall met floor. She found herself unable to blink, or so it seemed, her mind completely emptied of all thoughts.  She had screwed up again. She figured that, despite this being the first day that she had on the job as greeter to new recruits, she likely was going to be fired, though luckily she still figured she would have the refuge of Dies Irae nonetheless. She would slowly bonk her head further against the wall in short intervals subconsciously, every so often uttering a quick statement of "Stupid. Klutz. Airhead," to herself, cycling through each word every four bonks or so.

Yemaya sighed, telepathically speaking to the group. "I do apologize for her behavior, truly. Commander. Ambassador. I humbly request that you do not place too much punishment on her. Her enthusiasm can...get the best of her at times, and I believe she has, in a way, received enough of a talking-to on her own." She tilted her eyes over to see her ward, who once again hit her head on the wall, saying a new word of "Chatterbox," before returning to her despondency. "Do not worry about her too much, at the same time however. She will bounce back from this, perhaps to your chagrin, Commander. The girl, as you can see, has boundless supplies of energy. For your sakes, I will do my best to rein her in, though I cannot promise perfection on that front."

She looked over at Illya, who was still visibly distressed. Perhaps due to her status as guardian, she felt a pang of empathy for the girl. She was only trying to be kind, after all. But in the end, the authority of the Commander and the Ambassador were more important. It could be a valuable learning lesson for her, Yemaya thought. No matter how often Illya spoke an rambled on like this, it was a rare occasion that she would be yelled at for it. There were times she needed to hold her tongue. While much of the reason was her own boundless enthusiasm, Yemaya also believed that part of the reason she spoke so much was her status as a Sound Slayer, where she likely believed her own words could feed her energy. Yemaya did not have the heart to tell her that a Slayer's own energy could not feed themselves, so perhaps Illya's nature was the Aviaku's fault. Nonetheless, she bowed her head once more in apology, giving a last concerned look towards Illya before leaving her to go once more through her depressive cycle.

Yemaya had already set an internal timer for six minutes before Illya would bounce back.

There was so much chaos going on around him but he still felt ashamed that he didn’t notice them as he was focused on himself, he made scenes inside his head where there are people judging him and was abhorred by his presence, his self confidence was really low. Afterwards, he heard The Commander’s voice, which was cold and at the same charismatic on its own. He couldn’t help but to listen. He wondered if he really could survive a month there, with that amount of confidence he had in himself. He had yet to know, he won’t give up easily.

The voice of The Ambassador then echoed the halls. He couldn’t resist but to stand straight and face him as he was about to talk, showing a form of respect. One by one he would criticize and highlighted each of their worst qualities. First it was William, then Emma, and afterwards Illya, and finally… him. He was ready for the criticization, but what Ambassador von Weiss said first lifted his heart a bit. He was told that his goal was noble and admirable, he thought that people would laugh at hearing what his goal was as it sounded very childish. But no instead it was admired, and Sage had never felt like that in a very long time.

Then he was hit by a painful reality. Ambassador von Weiss hit him with a brutal fact, of course he was not ready to fight dark mages in that state of his, he barely knew how to control his spells. But after knowing that his goal was not laughable but instead noble, he had a new goal in his mind. He wanted to grow stronger and stronger, so that one day he could stand in the face of evil to vanquish it for good. He didn’t feel ashamed and embarrassed as before, but he was standing straight and his face filled with determination, as if his aura had shifted a whole 180 degrees.

The Ambassador then spoke, how they were all just a show of comedy, and Sage could not deny him they really put a bad first impression. The question was asked again, the reasoning why they wanted to join the guild, this time by the Ambassador. Before, Sage went last, but this time he went first, his voice loud and clear and filled with determination, he silenced the voices that was poisoning his mind. “My name is Sage Dreyer. I want to join the guild to help vanquish the evil in this world. Although I am not qualified to fight yet, I am prepared to go through training and grow stronger every day until I am qualified, and I wish to be trained under the supervision of the guild.”.

[OPEN] Dies Irae's Disappointing New Disciples Empty Re: [OPEN] Dies Irae's Disappointing New Disciples

Post by Aoi 21st January 2020, 12:32 am

In the moments from which she had recovered from the falling from her nested perch of a napping spot, Aoi rubbed her eyes of the sleep that she was woken from. If not for the fact that she had this group of people below her whom were discussing their business, the fall itself would not have woken her. She was the type who could sleep through a hurricane, an earthquake, or any number of events. The only emergency situations that could wake her were very narrowed to practical jokes, woken up by hand such as shaking, and perhaps water. The latter of the list was an untested theory she would rather not toy with. However, in the spirit of this conversation going on before her, she wasn't going to be able to just lay back down and fall back asleep either... at least when it came to just napping inside this guild hall area.

While taking in the whole scenario that was going on around her in the moment, it seemed her plummet to the ground didn't alert everyone to her, which was a thankful thing. That being said, when she saw the ambassador motioning her to albeit save herself, she was half tempted, but it wasn't like she had anything else to do in the moment. What she was interested in now was the group of people currently seeming to be offering to join, from what she could gather as things went on. Her head tilted to one side in a bit of confusion, missing the reason why one person was over against a wall and essentially beating herself up over something. Well, the wall was doing most of the work, but aside from that, she didn't see why it was that she had been like a child whom was just scolded by her parents.

No matter, that wasn't her problem. Seeing a sudden tiny, multicolored rodent shift its form into some rather buff looking creature, it began to speak. SPEAK. Was... Was she freaking losing it? Did her curse just begin to make her have massive delusions? Just what in the hell was going on? It was on one knee, trying to serenade the blue haired commander through the obvious wall of frustration. Her reply was so cold, sharper than the glass that she proclaimed she'd rather swallow. A huge part of her wanted to clap in favor of Amalie purely on her sass, but she still wasn't 100% sure that she was seeing everything correctly and not in some really weird dream or a hallucination of some caliber. Whatever the case may be, she just chose to keep out of it and let them deal with it.

Johann's glare towards her for the moment he'd done so was a little off guard. At first, she looked around trying to figure out if she had actually been the person he was giving those dagger eyes to her and not someone else around her. When she did realize he was meaning that she was at fault, the cursed brunette just held her hands up for a moment. She didn't do anything wrong... on purpose at least... and that's just this time. She'd take honor and pride in the things she did if she was truly responsible for them. Putting that aside, the ambassador had just begun to return to his speech concerning the potential new members whom gathered before the few. In the meantime, the brunette simply sat down on the ground rested on top of her own legs. Just to stay out of the way for the meantime until she'd need to do anything.

The first of them to step up of them so far was a blonde male, a bit taller than Aoi was herself. He began with an introduction. He was a cute boy, maybe a little older looking for what he may be, but honestly she couldn't tell for sure. Regardless, the male continued on proclaim his willingness to learn and grow through the guild. She couldn't help but watch him as he announced this, looking for those small ticks of hesitation or anything, but he genuinely seemed to be full forward on the idea of jumping into the guild and making a bit of a name for himself. With nothing to say for herself, she would just continue to sit there, taking in those same types of goals that their possible friend or acquaintance might say for themselves, all while doing the same thing she'd done with Sage.

Amari would feel his ghostly heart shatter as he was outright rejected in such a cold manner, it wasn’t like he had been serious, but she had been so brutal. A crocodile tear would prick his eye as he stared up at the beautiful woman before him.

“You wound me, my lady.” Amari would sniffle, clutching his chest in his hands, “I swear though,” He started, pushing himself up from his kneeling position so that he was standing tall before Amalie, “I shall win your heart one day.” He proclaimed loud enough for all to hear before formally bowing before her as his body slowly shifted and shrunk back down to his small rodent like appearance, completely ignoring Johann’s words about him not being respectful.

As he did so Emma stepped forward, quickly shoving Amari to the side in order to bow to both Johann and Amalie as well, however, this in a much more apologetic and professional manner.

“I am so sorry, please forgive him. I promise I will keep him under control from now on.” She begged, glancing over at Amari with an angry expression while her head was still bowed down so no one else would see, before putting on a serious face and standing up straight again. Honestly, the young lady was well aware of how disrespectful and troublemaking Amari could be, but she also knew that if he felt like it he could easily behave himself. She would just need to find a way to urge him into being more polite in the future. Perhaps she would have to bribe him, she didn’t like feeling obliged to do such, but if it worked, then she would then at least be able to relax around the base a little more.

“As for why I have come here, I was under the impression this establishment was one of the greatest in all of Fiore and would be the perfect guild for me to train and grow within, both in my own power as well as in my abilities to make connections for my family’s trading company.” Emma stated honestly, giving direct eye contact to the older gentleman as she spoke. While she had her own personal goals, the reason she was here was mostly due to her father’s wishes over her own.

Emma would then send a small glance towards the strange, silent girl who had fallen from the ceiling, unsure what to make of her.
