Personality: Like most people who hail from Dongxia, Tao is a pragmatic young man, but is also stubborn, egotistical, aloof, and foul-tempered. Tao generally lacks the congenial and excessive politeness that most Dongxians display to outsiders in favour of skipping straight to the patronizing superiority. He's perfectly capable of being polite when he needs to be but avoids it if he sees no way it can serve him. He only utilizes decorum for first meetings until he can get a read on a person. In that way, he can be charming, but it rarely lasts.

Another Dongxian trait Tao possesses is being an extrovert, yet displaying shyness when around new people. That's not to say he turns into a blushing mess, but rather that he'll keep his distance and remain quiet until he's assessed the new person enough to have something to say.

Though reserved, he doesn't hesitate to act when he needs to, though he can be quite moody about it. He can be moody about anything. One thing he may have acted on last time he may pass on the next, all depending on how he feels at the current moment. This leads to unpredictability, though this trait is less dominant when concerning those he trusts. He isn't loyal to many, but those who enjoy that right will find him dependable indeed, though he's not above teasing that he won't help just to wind them up.

Tao takes pride in himself, even though he's far from what he wants to be in life. He's well educated, though most of his schooling was done at home alone by his mother in an effort to protect him. Now that his mother is no longer around, he's his own encouragement, as well as completely free of Dongxia's strings.
