Description:
This manual once belonged to someone named Carther Fent, apparently, a traveler out in the universe, or at least that’s the name scribed on the inside cover. It is enchanted to somehow never run out of pages, yet isn’t too heavy to carry. It also seems to sense what you are looking up and put the pages right at your thumbs, complete with moving pictures and snarky commentary on the details of an area and its dwellers. No fact is too small to be mentioned, for it may very well be the difference between becoming the mayor and facing a Grathuvak phaser squad. In fact, it’s so useful, it’s hard to imagine why Carther Fent would ever part with it. Hopefully, nothing tragic happened to him. Perhaps he lost his scarf?
It comes with its own scarf (that curiously has a tiny bit of blood on the hem), just in case whoever finds the book might have been stupid enough to lose theirs. The manual insists you should never adventure without one, and that they are immeasurably useful. In additions to all its practical uses, more importantly, what the alien folk will think is that anyone who can travel the length and width of the universe, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his scarf is, is clearly someone to be reckoned with.
Abilities:
Name: The Answer
Rank: User Rank (Up to A)
Type: Passive
Description: The user gains access to a book no Earthland dweller should have. It enlightens them to all sorts of information concerning how a nearly any planet in the universe works. It contains details on things such as flora, fauna, elements, and cultural customs. Anything a traveler would need to know so not to meet an untimely death or become imprisoned due to ignorance could be in this guide. It isn’t complete by any means. The user may add discoveries they find should they somehow stumble across something not covered in the book. A common side effect is the user becomes overwhelmingly curious about everything, including space, the final frontier. Their very mana seems to become more plentiful and sensitive, giving them a user rank passive buff (up to 55% at A rank) to their mana supply. [Note: This cannot be used to gain insight on PCs’ thoughts or histories. May gain info on PC species, homelands, etc with OOC permission.]
Name: The Question
