    You can breathe

    In clear blue water

The smell of manure got stronger and stronger the moment Aerwyna walked into the stables stationed in Hosenka, smelling even stronger than the fishy smell that Aerwyna typically produces. She was glad that her cute companion that she just recently found doesn’t mind the smell that much.

“This is the place??” Aerwyna’s toadstool, Kinopio asked in his cute, yet croaky voice. His rather tiny stature being cuddled in by the mermaid princess, making him all warm and fuzzy inside like the toadstool he was.

“Yeah…” The female answered her little buddy as she then looked around, there was so much to do, stuff that she normally wouldn’t be able to do underwater because of her royal status. She was kind of glad that she was doing this kind of manual labour because it would give her some work experience and because it would give her an insight as to what humans and non-royal subjects could do on a day to day basis, which is what Aerwyna ran away from home for originally.

“Well, we better get to work, Kinopio.” Aerwyna stated, plopping her little friend down on the floor while she saw another two people arrive, hopefully it was to help clean the place up with her. The mermaid princess nodded to the other two in greeting and then looked down to Kinopio once more. God, he looked so adorable, she just wanted to hug him all day and all night.

“You got it!” The toadstool understood her, charging right ahead of her to find where all the tools were for cleaning purposes. Aerwyna couldn’t help but giggle, Kinopio ran so cutely as well. She couldn’t help but gasp in awe at his running style, she knew she was right to pick him up and take him home.

Kinopio ran back to the mermaid princess carrying what he could, which was a hand fork and a trowel, he appeared to feel bad at the fact that he cannot pick up much, but in his defence, he was pretty tiny. He goes right below Aerwyna’s kneecap, and that included his cute little toadstool head. In the females opinion, that is what made all of Kinopio’s charm, his voice and his height, Aerwyna just wanted to hug him.

“Awwh… I wanted to carry more to help…” The toadstool sighed, sooping down slightly in defeat until he explained the directions of where he found the gardening tools. “I am surprised to find some gardening tools, but it seems to be useful for stables too! If you go down and turn left, you will find some tools that could really help! I will start to get the horses out!” Aerwyna understood everything he said and instantly gone to get the tools with the directions that Kinopio had given her. Thanks to his directions, Aerwyna managed to pick up the necessary tools rather quickly and returned to see Kinopio guiding out one horse to outside. Aerwyna placed her tools against the wall safely before helping Kinopio guide out the other horses.

After the horses were guided out by the toadstool and the mermaid princess, Aerwyna rubbed her hands together and walked back in to grab the wheelbarrow that she left behind so she could grab the other tools. She ran to the left again and grabbed the wheelbarrow, the two were finally ready to get to work. Each stall was most likely filled with manure and wet bedding, Aerwyna took this as a good start to the manual labour she has created for herself and sighed softly as she grabbed a shovel and a pitchfork from the wall, placed it in the wheelbarrow and entered one of the stalls to start cleaning it.

“Kinopio sweetie, can you help me by using your trowel?? It will help me a lot.” The female asked him politely. Kinopio nodded and entered the stall with her, picking up as much straw as he possibly could with his trowel before placing it into the wheelbarrow.

Sooner or later, Aerwyna finally finished cleaning one of the stalls, but she had a few more to go through. With no time to waste, she quickly moved the full wheelbarrow to the manure pile before tipping it into the manure pile.
