    Code:
Job Title: Monster Challenge Part 1
    Rank: D
Player Requirements: 1-2 D rank mages or higher.
    Solo Word Count: 500 Words
    Group Word Count: 1000 Words
Job Requirements: Defeat the monster boss
Job Location: Anywhere within the Cursed Lands or Landforms

Job Description: One day you receive a random letter from a  stranger you do not know. This person seems to be a mage, but it isn’t quite clear. The letter is a challenge that demands you defeat a powerful monster in order to prove yourself.

“Hey there, Rookie. I see you have done some jobs that make you seem like you’re an awesome mage. Well you’re nothing compared to me! If you want to prove just how great you are then I dare you to take out this monster. Bring a friend if you’re too scared!”

A picture of a monster is on the back of the letter.

Roll a normal dice to see which monster you must face. The dice roll is optional and for those that like a bit of random flavor. You are free to choose the monster yourself.

    Enemies:

    Boss:

If you chose to do a dice roll just match the listed number with the one you rolled.

    1.
    GARGOYLE:
A very quick flying monster that can swipe its claws as it rushes forward in flight. At some point in battle the creature may land, turn to stone, and start to recover small amounts of hp.

    2.
    TROLL:
Not only will you have to watch out for its clawed and bite attacks, you will also have to be aware and move when it curls up and charges you with its rollout attack.

    3.
    FLAME GOBLIN:
Small but can be deadly. If not attacking with the knife then the flame goblin can turn his body completely into flame and dish out fire powered attacks.

    4.
    ORC:
A capable orc warrior with a mace and shield. It may look foolish but orcs are experienced fighters and can block attacks quite well.

    5.
    GHOUL:
A rotting creature of the undead. It will attack viciously with it’s sharp teeth and limbs but it can also summon smaller extra ghoul sidekicks to aid it in battle.

    6.
    GIANT SPIDER:
A massive spider standing eight feet tall that will attack with its long spikey legs and sharp teeth. You may even find yourself web wrapped.

Reward: D rank exp and 5,000 jewels

The cursed lands were a mysterious place that Sarah had never been to before. She hadn't planned the trip well, and she was low on provisions. Luckily, she had just bought a new roll of athletic tape. So, at least she wouldn't be breaking her hands any time soon. It didn't take her long to figure out that she had arrived. There was a stark contrast between this place, and literally anywhere else. The dead trees, the lack of wind, and the nerve-wracking silence, punctuated only by the sounds of owls hooting, or bats chirping. This was no place for your average adventurer. Luckily, Sarah wasn't average. While most people would be running from this place at a moment's notice, or just completely avoiding it, Sarah walked right in without any form of complaint. She knew what she was here for, and she wasn't walking out until the job was completed. She had a giant spider to deal with. While she didn't exactly want to kill it, she knew that she wasn't going to have much of a choice, so she really wanted to just get this over with as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, she was having some trouble finding the thing. That is, of course, until she walked right into it's web. Luckily, she was strong enough to pull herself off. But, the spider was right behind her, and lashed out with one of it's legs, knocking her into a tree. Sarah managed to avoid taking too much damage, but she knew that she had to end this fight quickly. So, in order to accomplish this goal, she climbed high into the tree, and jumped off, landing on top of the spider. Knowing that it couldn't reach her up here, she punched it's abdomen several times, waiting for it to go down, and hoping that she could get out of here quickly. It took about thirty hard punches to incapacitate the creature. Once that was done, Sarah grabbed a large rock, and proceeded to bash it's head in. The creature twitched a few times before it finally stopped moving. Having finished the job, Sarah wanted nothing more than to just go back to the guild, and have a few drinks. But, she was also kind of tired. After debating it for a while, Sarah took a picture of herself next to the defeated giant spider using her pocket lacrima. This would be undisputable proof that she had vanquished her for, as the client had requested. Now the only thing left to do was figure out who had contacted her in the first place. She didn't know the person, but they seemed to know her. She began to wonder if she had some sort of stalker, but quickly chased the idea out of her head. This was no time to be thinking about such things. She had finished the job, and the only goal left was to safely return to the guild, which she did. Luckily, she wasn't too banged up.
