Trying to describe the sensation was impossible. Thrusting and pulling at once. Shrinking and growing. There was no word to describe the mix of sensations assaulting her body. It was undefinable, and that alone made it worse. It was confusing, unsettling, and completely impossible to understand. She couldn't even remember how this happened; how it started, how it ended, what happened before it. Concepts like time and space eluded her now. She couldn't even tell if she was screaming anymore; sound just seemed to fade into oblivion. Was there even sound? Was she hearing a scream, or was it the terrible shrieking that took over her thoughts and refused any attempts at logical reasoning? It was a mix of pain and confusion, black and white, light and dark. There was everything and nothing at once. A state of constant flux. There was only one constant; one thing allowing her to retain sanity through the ordeal; metal. She could feel the solid structure surround her shifting form, holding her in place and preventing her from shattering and melding with the chaotic abyss around them. It was the sole solace and safety with her. She didn't even know what it was that protected her now, she just knew it was metal. Suddenly, just as quickly as the ordeal began, it ended. There was still, there was sound, and light, and reality was whole again. Her body shrieked in pain, her mind reeled in exhaustion, and soon the black void of unconsciousness took her.

There was an unnatural still in the complex now. Broken parts and scrap filled the once pristine hall, the former home of science and order. The few left working were a mix of warning signs and unanswered dialogue boxes, desperately flashing to try and warn any living people of the problem far too late. Blood was splattered everywhere, the remains of every living person in the premise turned into a new color for the walls. The explosion had rocked the complex, and the explosion of pressure and energy made quick work of anything softer than steel; and even destroyed most of the steel immediately surrounding it. Yet, despite all the chaos and destruction, a sole figure remained steadfast.
Frozen in the center of a room, stood a towering robot. It's head scratched the ceiling, and it's feet sunk into the floor, it's massive weight crushing the weakened concrete. It was a gleaming construct, it's varied plates and pieces crafted with seemingly inhuman levels or detail. Bright yellows and reds decorated the dark blue shell, forming a humanoid shape. Despite that, there were distinct animal traits accompanying it. A long, flexible tail, with towering horns on it's head, and two long pieces of metal mocking wings on it's back. The hulking figure stood motionless in the center of the room, cradling a smaller creature in it's arms. It was a young girl, covered in blood. Her limbs were broken and angled in improper places, and her breathing was shallow. Yet, the figure did not move an inch, focused solely on protecting the tiny creature in it's arm from anyone who might find them.
