A Union of Dragons and Wolves (event with Leona)

Mission Info:

Sol Stood outside the chapel in Rose Garden, he was dressed in his Company Uniform and he yawned a bit as he waited for his partner for this mission. The sky was dark and the night lights of the city were active and radiating beautifully. It had been a while since the void dweller had been in this city and he was finding that the light was actually bothering him a bit but he swallowed his discomfort since he needed to do a mission and he would not back down just because the light was bugging him. This was a simple job delivering chocolates but it seems that some wanted to cause trouble and wanted the chocolate or to just ruin valentines day in general.

So now here Sol was waiting for his partner since apparently to complete this job they needed to try some new magic and get married for a time.”Getting married for a job it’s a new one that’s for sure” he said to himself as he pulled his sword out of the shadow portal and examined it, the stunning crystal like blade shined a soothing blue color but it didn’t cause unease in the Void Dweller as he put it back in the portal incase he needed it. This was a simple mission but he needed to make sure he didn’t cause a lot of harm if any at all and his blade while harmless to innocents could be dangerous if used wrong or the target had evil in them and the VP didn’t need that heat on his head.

Wearing her green-and-gold outfit, Leona walked to the chapel in Rose Garden wearing her Argent Gloves but no other armor. She also left all her weapons at the guild hall except the knife in her boot because today was a special event. She was taking a job, but there was a catch to this one, or rather a hitch. There was a hitch in more ways than one.

Leona would have to marry Sol of West Fiore Trading Company in order to take the job.

The two mages were hired to take some chocolate to a candy store in Rose Garden. They were also tasked with testing a new kind of "marriage magic" by being temporarily married for the duration of the job. The "marriage magic" only worked on even-numbered teams, so there was no way around it. Leona would have to get married to Sol for the duration of the job. She could only hope that her mother Sophia did not hear about this temporary arrangement and expect grandchildren from it.

Leona eventually made her way to the chapel and found Sol standing outside of it. The dark-haired fellow wore the company uniform of West Fiore Trading Company and holding a sword that he was examining. Maybe Leona should have worn her Adaptable Armor, but she did not think that she would need it for this job. Her Argent Gloves and the Ruby Dome they could generate should be more than enough protection for this sort of job.

"Hey Sol! How's it going?" Leona greeted her temporary partner.

Hearing his name Sol blinked before he put his sword away in his sheath and dropped it back into a shadow portal as he smiled and bowed to Leona.”Hello Leona its good to see you again” he greeted cheerfully. “Im doing ok ready to do something strange for a job but in our line of work I guess that’s common” he joked and laughed a bit.from what he had heard this marriage magic was actually pretty powerful letting you tap into your partners magic somewhat which to the void dweller sounded fascinating and wondered what it would be like. Turned to the door he glanced at his partner for this job. “Ready to become Mrs Terumi for a while” he said Teasingly.

Entering the Chapel he moved to the alter along with Leona and saw the priest there along with a representative for the company they were going to work for there as well and spoke when they got in.”thank you both for delivering our shipment for us and testing out this magic, this will only last for the day and then will be annulled unless of course… you two consummate the marriage” the representative said which made Sol blink for a moment and struggled to a blush from appearing on his snowy skin.”I see if that is all then can we please start the ceremony so we can begin the job”he said hoping to get thru this quickly so they could start the job. While he was kind of weirded out by the requirement of being married to test such magic out Sol was more then willing to try it to see how the perks and such worked.

The Priest nodded to them before motioning for them to face each other.”Hold each others hands please” he said softly.

Leona could agree with Sol when he said that strange things popped up in their line of work. She had seen a lot of strange and wonderful things during her time as a mage, things like candle dogs and pumpkin wolves and ice-wielding ninjas. She had also encountered snowball-throwing elves and Christmas trees that could throw presents that exploded and took away people's clothes. The magic world was full of strange things that the blonde could not have seen if she had stayed at home in Nebdoui.

"Yeah, looks like it's time for me to become Mrs. Terumi for awhile. Or it's time for you to become Mr. Jarnefeldt. This is the first job I've ever had to get married to take." Leona said to Sol. Getting married was the only way that the pair could test the "marriage magic", so the blonde would have to set aside her misgivings and go through with the ceremony because the job demanded it. She wondered what the chances were that her mother would hear about this and demand that Leona get married for real, settle down, and have children. Leona did not even want to think about that because she had too many responsibilities to just give them all up and get married. Leona liked life beyond the desert and did not want to give it all up just to get married and have children.

Leona faced Sol and held out her hands for him to take into his own. She could not bear to part with the Argent Gloves because it was no exaggeration to say that they had become part of her the day she had received them as a reward for saving a village of cat-people from starvation. Maybe she should have taken off the Argent Gloves for at least the ceremony. She would remove them if the priest instructed her to do so.

“indeed it is the first time I have had to do it as well but it should be interesting  if a bit odd” Sol said with a smirk, as he took Leonas hand into his own and the preacher started to talk.”Lord we are gathered here today to bring together.”  Sol coughed before he motioned for them to spead it up.”Can we  please speed this up we still have a job to do” he said  before the preacher blinked before he nodded, Sol didn’t like to be rushed but at the same time this was a bit awkward and they still had work to do.”Do you Sol Take Leona to be your Wife to unite in the bonds of matrimony and share your whole self to her, to honor and keep her in sickness and health as long as this union binds you” the preacher asked as Sol looked into Leonas eyes with his two colored ones  and  spoke.

”I do”

The Preacher then turned to Leona and said the same thing”Do you Leona Take Sol to be your Husband to unite in the bonds of matrimony and share your whole self to him, to honor and keep him in sickness and health as long as this union binds you”the Preacher asked as Sol blinked and he could feel the beginning of something as he waited for her answer and he still could only feel kinda foolish for having to do this for just a job but looking at Leona he was glad she was his partner in this mission and temporary wife. She was very strong and also very beautiful as well. as he waited  inside the void Dweller Nox Sat just silently observing not really intent on causing any  issue or   offering any advice to his vessel, he did find his vessel interesting though if not in need of some more training.

"I do." Leona answered the priest's query with confidence. She was glad that Sol was at her side for this job because the responsibility sounded like it needed at least two mages to make the job happen. Wedding Magic obviously needed two people to make it work, but having a partner to protect the chocolate made the job a lot easier. Sol was as strong as she was and had his own brand of magic that she had not seen before, so protecting the chocolate should be an easy task.

Leona looked at the tall, dark-haired mage standing in front of her and waited for the ceremony to conclude. There was a job to be done and not all the time in the world to do it. Time waited for no one, not even for couples intending to marry just for the sake of a job. If they waited too much longer, the enemies might run off with the chocolate before they could get off the starting line, so to speak. Hopefully the ceremony would conclude soon so that the Marriage Magic could be tested and the chocolate could be delivered to its destination without any undue difficulty.

The precher nodded as Leona said I do and then looked at both of them. "I now pronounce you Mr and Mrs Sol Terumi you may now Kiss the bride” he said before Sol moved forward and brushed his lips with hers to complete the ceremony. Sol blinks as he suddenly felt a surge of new magic in his body,it was exhilarating and powerful but at the same time it was light almost as if the magic itself had no weight or presence for some reason.as the two turned to go get the chocolate Sol looked at Leona.”your magic it is rather incredible such strength and yet its so light If I am only accessing a fraction of this then I shudder to think what you can do with its full might at your disposal” he said since he recalled something about the marriage magic giving the pair access to each others magics which as another reason Sol was so interested in such a task.

Now that they were out the reprisentive revealed the shipment of chocolate for them to deliver and Sol smirked a bit.”No worries we can get this to the other end of the City with little trouble” he said as the rep nodded.”Please do be careful we have heard some off things in the city today” he warned as Sol raised a hand and saw some wind moving around his fingers and nodded.”We will you have our word” he said to put the man at ease. As he formed shadows and had it start pulling the shipment so they could start the mission he looked at Leona.”Feeling any different being married” he asked since if he felt a surge of power from her magic in him he wondered what she thought of his own magic considering it was not exactly a holy magic. After a few moments he suddenly blinked and he made the shipment stop before he glanced at Leona.”heads up we are not alone we have company coming” he said as he stretched his neck and focused on where he was hearing footsteps.

Leona exchanged a kiss with Sol now that she was officially Miss Terumi, if only for the duration of this job. This was the first time she had kissed anyone of either gender and she blushed when kissing Sol. She was so glad that her mother was not here to witness this moment because a kiss would escalate to demands for a permanent marriage and from there it would escalate to demands for grandchildren. Leona was not ready for that kind of drama yet.

Leona felt a new magic flow throughout her body. This magic felt dark and seductive, like it was trying to get her to use its power, and power was something the magic definitely had plenty of. Even though she had no experience using this type of magic, something about its use felt natural like she had been training with it instead of with Wind Strike Magic.

"Your magic's pretty strong too, Sol." Leona complimented Sol. It should come as no surprise considering that they were at roughly the same power level. She heard Sol talk to the chocolate company representative and assure them that the Terumis would get the chocolate to its destination without incident. Everything was going smoothly until he asked if she felt any different after being married to him.

"Yeah, Sol. It's like your magic is trying to get me to use it. We're gonna have to fight to get the shipment to its destination safely, so I may have more than one chance to use it." Leona said to her temporary husband just before he stopped the shipment's movement and warned her that company was on the way.

"I wonder who it is?" Leona asked Sol as she tried to listen to the footsteps that were approaching fast.

As Leona blushed at his kiss Sol Smiled a bit as they started out for their mission, as she mentioned that his magic was powerful as well and that it was almost like it was tempting her to use it. Sol nodded and his face was serious.”It is a darker type of slayer magic so the temptation to use it is high but just try to remember that your in control not the magic, just always make sure before you fire one off you have an iron control of it” he said as he gently formed a scorpion of godslayer poison on his hand.”I know you can do it Leona even with no experience with my magic I know you can have such control” he encouraged. The slayer knew that she was strong and she was skilled so he had no doubt that she would be able to handle his magic temptation and all.

As his temporary Wife questioned who was approaching Sol closed his eyes for a few seconds before he spoke.”I hear six sets of feet all rushing this way four from the left and two from the right the four sound lighter then the other two so I think they are” the void dweller was cut off by The Appearance of 4 children that ran into their path along with two adults who looked intent on taking the chocolate and for one of them just wrecking the chocolate in general.”Lets make this easy two kids and adult for each of us?” he asked as he saw the kids suddenly rush forward seemingly intent on getting the candy that they were almost seemingly possessed. Focusing on the new magic in his body Sol Suddenly Grinned widely as he rushed forward as he then kicked off the ground with more force then before and he was suddenly behind two of the kids before he struck both of them in the back of the neck to knock them out without harming them.

As he moved the two out of the way quickly Sol suddenly got a chill in his spin and he suddenly turned while bringing out his sword and it clashed with a set of knives that looked like broken heart pieces and Sol just looked at the man dully.” Nice weapon if your wanting to be lame”he mocked as he flicked his sword and made the man skid back a bit.” I don’t care I just want to get rid of this stupid holiday and your little delivery seems likes a good place to start” the angry man said pointing the blades at the void dweller. Sol just sighed before he decided to try out the new magic that he gained from Leona. Smirking at the love hater he suddenly flung his sword into the air high as he crouched down.”Blink and you’ll miss it” he taunted as he channeled his new magic thru his limbs. In literally the blink of an eye Sol was in front of the man then behind him with his arms crossed across his chest before the man suddenly erupted in slash marks as 18 deep gashes appeared on the mans body all over. While not life threatening it would put him out of commission for a good while.”whew that was exhilarating“ he said before he reached up for the sky and his sword landed handle first into his hand timed perfectly.

Spell Used:

"I control the magic. The magic doesn't control me. Got it." Leona recited to Sol before he gave the exact number of enemies that they would have to deal with. According to Sol, there were four children and two adults heading their way. Leona's stomach turned when she heard that children were among the enemies.

The blonde was already regarded with a mixture of respect and fear. She did not want to descend into infamy by beating up children who just wanted candy, so she would really have to pull her punches with them. A simple Wind Blast should be enough to knock them out without doing too much harm. As for the adult enemy, she could use a greater degree of force as long as she did not kill him. Leona only wanted to escort the candy to its destination, not kill anyone.

Leona listened as Sol suggested that they split the enemies between them. Leona would deal with two children and one adult while her "husband" dealt with the other two children and the other adult. The blonde did not have any better ideas, so she would go with Sol's suggestion.

"OK. I'll handle the other enemies." Leona voiced her agreement with the plan. She then noticed that the children running towards them paid no heed to the danger posed by two powerful mages from two of the more prominent Independent guilds of Earthland. It was almost like they were possessed... that meant that Leona would have to be a lot more careful in dealing with them.

The children rushed towards her with their arms outstretched and their faces focused on the candy. Leona did not like what she was about to do, but she could not let them get the candy. The entire shipment had to be intact for the job to be considered a success. The blonde clenched her teeth and pushed out with a magic-infused palm, knocking the children down with a concussive blast. They went unconscious immediately.

Leona ran over to them and leaned down to make sure that they were OK. They still had a pulse... they were just unconscious. The relieved blonde picked them up and moved them out of the way, setting them off to the side at the front doorstep of someone's home. It was a raised stone doorstep with iron railings, so they were in no danger of being hurt unless they were deliberately targeted by an attack. Leona rushed back to Sol's side just in time to confront the love hater.

The love hater was a brown-haired man wearing a white t-shirt with a brown vest and blue jeans with tan work boots. In his hands were a pair of knives shaped like the halves of a broken heart. That was an interesting choice of weapon, but it would still not be enough to defeat the Silver Wolf mage. After fighting the Crimson Sashes time and time again, knives were not enough to frighten her anymore.

"I didn't expect YOU to be escorting the candy, but that doesn't matter! I'll deal with you and then destroy that shipment!" He said to Leona. The blonde frowned. It had not even been fifteen seconds and she already disliked the guy. However, just because she disliked the guy did not mean that she had license to kill him.

"You can try." Leona replied to him. The Venom God Slayer magic from Sol was calling to her, begging her to use it. It underestimated Leona's resolve... she was in control of the magic and not the other way around. With that in mind, Leona had the perfect answer to this particular problem.

He flung the knives at Leona, who deflected one with her left Argent Glove and was grazed across the right forearm where the glove did not cover by the other knife. She clenched her teeth and looked at the smirking man. He had just made a big mistake.

Leona's hand glowed black as she faced the man, who was now realizing the depth of his mistake. She simply snapped a finger and three tendrils of black venom lanced out from her body and grabbed the man, immobilizing him and dealing a bit of poison damage. It was not in a high enough dosage to be lethal, but he would definitely be sick for awhile. Leona rushed over to the immobilized man and used Hurricane Punch, hitting him with twelve rapid punches that left him dizzy and his head bobbing from side to side as the tendrils held him.

After that Leona simply used two normal punches to the face to finish knocking him out. The blonde worried that she might have gone overboard, but a quick check showed that the love hater still had a pulse. She eased him to the ground and let him lie on his back, then turned to Sol.

"We'd better get going, Sol." Leona suggested to her partner.

As Sol saw his “Wife” use one of his spells and to great effect Sol smiled proudly before he suddenly felt a wave of dizziness  hit him and he suddenly dropped to a knee before he took a few deep breaths, he quickly glanced to Leona and he gave a reassureing smile." Im ok  I think Im not used to moving that fast my body just needs a sec” he said as the dizziness vanished after a few moments and Sol got back to his feet before he took his sword and dropped it into a shadow portal. As Leona said that they should keep moving and the Void Dweller nodded and made the  shipment move again  while he spoke.”you used my magic very well Leona  especially in conjunction with your own magic”he prasied as they moved thru the streets and it seemed that any other potential troublemakers were not brave enough to come out and make another attempt.

As they finally reached the other end of the city and saw the sweet shop and as they saw the owner out front waiting for them Sol made the shadows set the shipment down before him, the owner smiled a bit.”Thank  you both so much for delivering this chocolate to me  to show my appreciation here is a special chocolate Lacrima for each of you” he said as he passed them both a special chocolate. Sol  had to admit it smelled amazing and he was tempted to eat it right now but it would be better to wait he figured. As the job finished Sol felt the new magic leave him as the bond broke and he blinked as he felt like he was back to normal but he also felt rather strange as well. turning to Leona he smiled again.”I enjoyed our mission today Leona perhaps we can do this again” he suggesteted before he had a thought.”Hey if your ever on Tolgalen would you care for a Spar or perhaps we could get a cup of coffee  and talk about guild stuff” he added before he would wait for her answer and as they parted he moved forward  and placed a kiss on her cheek before he turned to leave as they parted ways.”Have a good Day Leona” he said as he waved back to her as he headed back to Tolgalen.

Leona was glad that the rest of the job went without incident once the children and the love hater were subdued without killing them. The power of Sol's magic was strangely seductive, but it did not control her. She controlled it and she proved it beyond doubt because she did not kill the love hater despite the power that poison could wield. Once they reached the other end of the city the show owner was waiting for them with Chocolate Lacrimas in hand, one for each job participant.

"Thank you both so much for delivering this chocolate to me. To show my appreciation, here is a special chocolate Lacrima for each of you!" The owner, a middle-aged man wearing a white shirt under a white apron with brown pants and black shoes, thanked them and handed the Chocolate Lacrimas to them. The shipment was wheeled into the shop and the "Marriage Magic" bond was severed. Leona no longer felt the pull of Sol's magic tugging at her mind.

"No problem. Glad we could help." Leona said to the shop owner before turning to face Sol. He said that he had enjoyed running the job with her and suggested that they could run another job together in the future. Leona was not averse to that idea.

"Yeah, maybe we'll meet again and run another job together. Coffee might not be a bad ide-" She said before Sol interrupted by planting a kiss on her cheek. The blonde blushed and silently watched Sol walk towards Tolgalen, then waved back after he waved at her. She was glad that her partner for this job was Sol. Now she had to hope that her mother did not hear about this and ask her about grandchildren the next time Leona was in Nebdoui. Leona turned around and began the trip back to the Phoenix Mountains.
