Why, oh, why couldn't she just say no?

This task, this unbelievably uncomfortable task that had been given to her, had left Nessa baffled at her own weakness. The fact was she was such a pushover, and she had accepted a job so massively inappropriate that she had actually been sitting in her office with her face buried in her hands for a good hour at this point. Mumbling incoherent phrases every now and then such a 'why did I say yes' and 'how am I even going to do this'. It had shocked her to her core.

There were so many others in the guild who would probably be so much better at this. Arcadia for one, loved writing stories, she was currently in the process of making a screenplay wasn't she? Rina was probably even a better choice for the job, considering how she didn't have the embarrassing closeness to the individuals involved as Nessa did. As for Mura ... Well, Nessa wasn't sure if Mura would be a good choice, but who knew, he might have some fantastic talent for writing romantic fanfiction that she didn't know about. He was a bit of a dark horse that way. Nessa, on the other hand, was not ready for this, it wasn't that she wasn't capable of writing. She had dabbled in some creative writing back in her school days, and she did love reading a good sappy romance every now and then. But this was different, this was Aven and Markus. The irony was unbearable.

One, her closest male friend, someone whom she had just recently found out was ACTUALLY in love with her in secret. The other, a guy who she had once gotten drunk with and shared a heated moment with while in a hotel room. Sure, it was just a kiss, but still, there was history there. She was trying not to think of him in a romantic way or attractive way, this job was completely going against that plan. And now, she had to write a fanfiction combining the two of them in some weird love story. Had she done something to upset Sorano, was this some kind of twisted punishment? But then how could it be? Sorano didn't know about Aven's love for Nessa, nor did she know that Markus and Nessa kissed. Knowing Sorano, she had just weighed up the best individual for the job and selecter Nessa based on how much she knew about the inviduals involved. She was not see the humiliating ramifications it would place on Nessa.

Nessa sighed, pulling her hands away from her face, her cheeks a little red from having been squished by her palms for so long. She glanced down at the lined paper on the desk in front of her, How do I even start? She thought passively. She briefly considered canceling the job. Maybe she could go to Sorano and apologise, decline the job and have it handed to someone else. But then, what if everyone refused, this client would be disappointed and that would make Fairy Tail look bad. No, she couldn't do that to her guild, she would just have to suffer through it, sign it with an alias and no one would ever need to know.

Another half an hour passed of her staring down at the paper, trying to picture an acceptable scene in her mind. Slowly, she would lower her pen to the page, succumbing to her fate, she would begin writing a fanfiction involving the last two people she would ever have expected to ever be writing about.

Night had long since fallen on the Guildhall, it was about two in the morning, and two figures were standing on the training grounds situated on the roof of the guild. Both men eyed each other, their eyes locked, they gazes unwavering. Sweat was dripping from them as they panted slightly from the physical exertion of what they had been doing.  The white-haired male, Aven Alveron grinned, "You want to keep going?" He asked, a thrilled expression on his face. The man standing opposite him would look up at the sky, "I think it would be wise to leave it here, we've been at it for a few hours now. Perhaps another time." Markus Eldridge would reply, before looking back at the Circle Mage with his dark eyes. Aven shrugged, "That seems reasonable to me, It was a good fight, and I'm fairly certain that I bested you anyway." He said with a challenging grin. The two of them had been sparring for most of the day, having lost track of time as they tested their skills against each other.

Markus shook his head; he could've easily gone into a theoretical debate on how Aven hadn't actually beat him in their little spar. But that would be fruitless, they would be discussing it for hours, and it was late enough as it was. "Believe what you wish." He replied, as he made his way to the roofs elevator. Aven's eyes narrowed a fraction; he had hoped that Markus would offer more resistance, but alas it made sense that he would not want to get into it so soon after the fight. Perhaps he could tempt him another time. He followed the Chaos mage into the elevator, the doors shutting behind him, they began to descend. "You've gotten better I must admit, were you training a lot on your travels?" Aven asked, Markus didn't reply immediately, there was a pause as he contemplated how to answer. Markus was never one for revealing too much. "You could say that," He replied stoically.

The two mages made their way to the guild washrooms to shower off; they had been running around for several hours. So freshen up was the most sensible option. "You go ahead, I just want to check something." Markus said, Aven, nodded, heading into the changing rooms. He began to take off his sweat-drenched clothes, peeling them off his body to reveal a lean and adept physics. Across his skin lines of twinkling gold would shimmer, a replacement of the scars that he used to bare from his past. Once naked, he made his way into the shower cubicle, turning on the tap. He waited a moment for the water to heat up, testing it with his fingers before stepping under it. He closed his eyes, enjoying its warmth.

He heard a noise a glanced behind him, Markus stepped over, completely bare. He stepped over to the shower next to him, turning the handle. Aven's eyes would glance curiously over his body, Markus was lean and athletic, not too dissimilar to himself. Perhaps a little thinner, as though he didn't eat as much as he should. Aven's eyes fell on the scars that covered his body, particularly the long one that stretched over his back.

"Do they repulse you?" Markus's sudden voice ringing through the shower made Aven jump, he flushed, having been caught openly staring at the naked man. Aven glanced away, "S-sorry I should have stared," He muttered, feeling embarrassed. He would sense Markus step over to him, a little closer than necessary.

"It's ok, you can look." Aven found his gaze move back towards the red-head, he was only a few inches away. His emerald green eyes would fall over his body once more, slowly moving down-

Nessa shot back in her seat, throwing her pen down. She stood up, moving away from the desk she began pacing the room furiously. Head in he hands, "No, no, no, no, no..." She would whisper furiously to herself, walking in a circular motion around her office. Her cheeks a furious shade of pink, after several minutes, she stopped in front of her office window. Looking out, she caught her on blushing reflection. She took a breath, "No." She said, as though telling herself off. She was getting carried away, and she wasn't ready to write that sort of scene. Not between two men she knew so well. She brought herself back over to her desk. Sitting down, she paused to think, before picking up her pen and carrying on.

The two men left the shower in silence wrapped up with towels, neither of them spoke as they made their way to the Fairy tail locker rooms. Drying themselves off in silence, before redressing after their shower. The air was filled with a thick layer of tension now, an uncertainty, following their little moment in the shower. Neither of them had decided to act on it, resisting the temptation that had arisen between them. They had intended to brush it off as nothing, but it was most certainly not nothing. Something lingered between them, something they had yet to admit. Aven glanced over from the locker, beginning to button up his white shirt slowly. His eyes were looking over thoughtfully as though trying to calculate the best way for them to move past the awkwardness that now existed between the two men. He spoke, an attempt at carving through the tension with a friendly suggestion, "Do you fancy a drink after this?" He would ask, hoping that perhaps they would be able to return to normal status. Markus pulled on his dark jeans, not looking at the circle mage as he replied.

"Best not, I need to head off. There's a job I'm taking over on Shadow Island; I'll probably be gone for a while." He replied stiffly rejecting the offer, Aven's eyes would narrow slightly. A thin layer of irritation would radiate off him. Markus, who had just returned after such a long absence, was once again disappearing into the night without a thought for the guild. He was so rarely present these days; it was tiresome trying to keep up with when he would be coming back. Waiting for his return. He liked Markus, enjoyed his company, but more often than not, time with the mage was fleeting. Fueled by his annoyance, Aven would stop buttoning his shirt, cross his arms over his chest and stare at Markus with a firm glare.

"I have a theory Markus," He began, tilting his head at the Chaos Mage. "In regards to why you join Fairy Tail." Markus's dark eyes would shoot towards Aven, his face blank, unreadable as he prepared to listen to what he had to say. He had just finished zipping up his trousers and had just pulled his shirt from the open locker that he had stored his things in. You see, you have many keys traits Markus; stoic, mysterious, a clear lone wolf if there ever was one. You come across as someone who would prefer to be alone, to fight alone. So why would a lone-wolf such as yourself, join a guild like Fairy Tail, a guild with such a closely knit dynamic would surely be unsuitable for you. Except that it gives you exactly what you want, what you truly want." He grinned at Markus as he led up to his point, giving him a moment so that he could observe his reaction. The redhead paused quietly, contemplating how to respond. He allowed the shirt he was holding to fall to the locker room floor. Then he would once again, approach Aven, closing the distance between them. He would step up the Circle mage, moving in close enough to be only a few inches away from him. Intentional moving into his personal space, because if Aven was attempting to make Markus uncomfortable by analysing his private and intimate thoughts, that Markus would return his discomfort in kind. Aven shifted, lowering his arms from across his chest, not expecting this kind of reaction. "And what exactly is it that I want Aven?" He said in barely more than a whisper, his dark eyes boring into his emerald green ones.

Aven would clear his throat; he could feel his pulse racing faster now, Markus being so close once again was making him nervous. Not from fear, but from something else. Still, despite the red-heads attempts to throw him off, Aven would steel himself, before responding. "You want to belong." He said quietly, Markus's eyes did not move from him as the words sunk in. After a long pause, Markus would slowly smile, "That's an interesting theory." He said, inching slightly closer to him. In an attempt to create space between them, Aven stepped back, only to find his back hit the lockers. Markus chuckled softly, "I also have a theory Aven, about you." Markus could feel Aven's breathing grow slightly quicker; his strong senses could see the substantial shifts in his behaviour. The small tinge of colour in his cheeks, the heat radiating from his body. Markus knew the signals; he knew what they truly meant. "About what you really want." He purred, leaning closer, Aven's turned his face to look away, not wanting to give away more than he already had. Yet in spite of himself, he found himself asking, "A-and what's that?"

Markus reached up, cupping his chin firmly, he pulled his face towards his. Their eyes would lock once more, "This." The chaos mage leaned forward, eliminating the few inches between them. He would press his lips softly against Avens. Aven stiffened for a moment, shocked that he would actually make such a move. Trying to think of what to do, how to stop this from happening. But the sweet pressure of Markus's lips moving against his was causing his thoughts to unravel. He could no longer think about anything but how good it felt. His resistance slipped away and soon he was kissing back. With each passing moments, the kiss grew more passionate, Markus pushed forward, pressing his firm body against Avens. Pressing his back firmly against the lockers, Aven ran his hands through Markus's red hair, and Markus's hands found themselves running up along Avens waist, and he nibbled on his bottom lip teasingly, earning himself a slight moan from the white-haired man. For several moments, the two become lost into each other, forgetting about the world around them. Revelling in the moment of blissful ignorance, giving into a want that had lingered between them for the longest time. Finally, Markus pulled away, breathing heavily, he looked into Aven's eyes. His own eyes were shining brightly with chaotic energy and lust.

Aven's slowly opened his eyes once more, looking at Markus longingly. The uncomfortable tension that had filled the room moments ago was gone without a trace, filled with the sense of passion and desire that know lingered between the two mages. Like Pandora's box, they had unlocked their truth, and it had soared out into the open in such a way neither of them could deny. Aven grinned, flashing his pearly white at Markus, "So how about that drink then?" He said, Markus took a step backing, returning the Circle mages grin. He would bring a hand to his face, holding his cheek, and brushing his thumb against his bottom lip teasingly, before answering Aven with a playful reply. "Maybe just one."

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Nessa sat back in her chair, her violet eyes skimming over the words she had just written. It was done, finally and writing had been, quite intense. Her cheeks were still flushed pink, her palms were hot and clammy, from gripping her pen so tightly. She was more satisfied with this part, and it wasn't as sexually charged as the first part, but still pretty steamy. This she was okay with, she could never have written anything erotic about the too mages, but a moment of passionate weakness — a kiss. This she could do, just about. Reaching across her desk, she grabbed a glass of water she had poured herself in advance. Bringing the glass up to her lips, she took a hearty gulp. After all that, she was admittedly feeling a little lightheaded. Never had she ever imagined she would have to write such a scene, especially not about those two. She wondered if she had managed to portray their personalities well enough. She knew she wouldn't be able to get them across perfectly, after all, who knew what Markus was thinking most of the time. And would Aven even care that much about Markus disappearing to go on a job? She didn't know. But as a spicy little scenario in a fanfiction, it worked well enough. She was satisfied that at least the client would be somewhat pleased, and if they weren't. Then they could damn well write their own fanfiction because they was the last time she was ever going to write such a scene about Markus and Aven.

Nessa decided to sign it under a fake name and title, to the client it would be titled. A moment of desire by C. Blossom. She really hoped that her mother wouldn't mind her using her maiden name to sign it, knowing her mum, she would find it quite funny. If she were here right now, she would tease Nessa mercilessly about it. All the while encouraging her to pursue a career in romantic novels. Nessa thought for a moment; she was relatively pleased to have done the work in the first place. Even if it was embarrassing, she placed her hand over the parchment. Putting on the pages, a little enchantment, should the page ever be touched by Starlight magic, the words would transformed to reveal it's true title and author.

Fairy Tails Greatest Sin by N. C. Lux

It was a humorous touch on her part; Fairy Tail had done a great deal of dark and ominous things in the past. So to label this steamy fanfiction in such a way was a little bit of fun just for her. She skimmed the words over, several more times, making sure she was satisfied. Fixing any grammatical errors that she could find. After proofreading it at least ten times, she was confident with the result. This would be good enough to please Sorano, she was sure of it. It was just as she was about the put the pages together, the door of her office burst open, and from her naughty little fanfiction, in would barge one of the main characters...
