Why, oh, why couldn't she just say no?
This task, this unbelievably uncomfortable task that had been given to her, had left Nessa baffled at her own weakness. The fact was she was such a pushover, and she had accepted a job so massively inappropriate that she had actually been sitting in her office with her face buried in her hands for a good hour at this point. Mumbling incoherent phrases every now and then such a 'why did I say yes' and 'how am I even going to do this'. It had shocked her to her core.
There were so many others in the guild who would probably be so much better at this. Arcadia for one, loved writing stories, she was currently in the process of making a screenplay wasn't she? Rina was probably even a better choice for the job, considering how she didn't have the embarrassing closeness to the individuals involved as Nessa did. As for Mura ... Well, Nessa wasn't sure if Mura would be a good choice, but who knew, he might have some fantastic talent for writing romantic fanfiction that she didn't know about. He was a bit of a dark horse that way. Nessa, on the other hand, was not ready for this, it wasn't that she wasn't capable of writing. She had dabbled in some creative writing back in her school days, and she did love reading a good sappy romance every now and then. But this was different, this was Aven and Markus. The irony was unbearable.
One, her closest male friend, someone whom she had just recently found out was ACTUALLY in love with her in secret. The other, a guy who she had once gotten drunk with and shared a heated moment with while in a hotel room. Sure, it was just a kiss, but still, there was history there. She was trying not to think of him in a romantic way or attractive way, this job was completely going against that plan. And now, she had to write a fanfiction combining the two of them in some weird love story. Had she done something to upset Sorano, was this some kind of twisted punishment? But then how could it be? Sorano didn't know about Aven's love for Nessa, nor did she know that Markus and Nessa kissed. Knowing Sorano, she had just weighed up the best individual for the job and selecter Nessa based on how much she knew about the inviduals involved. She was not see the humiliating ramifications it would place on Nessa.
Nessa sighed, pulling her hands away from her face, her cheeks a little red from having been squished by her palms for so long. She glanced down at the lined paper on the desk in front of her, How do I even start? She thought passively. She briefly considered canceling the job. Maybe she could go to Sorano and apologise, decline the job and have it handed to someone else. But then, what if everyone refused, this client would be disappointed and that would make Fairy Tail look bad. No, she couldn't do that to her guild, she would just have to suffer through it, sign it with an alias and no one would ever need to know.
Another half an hour passed of her staring down at the paper, trying to picture an acceptable scene in her mind. Slowly, she would lower her pen to the page, succumbing to her fate, she would begin writing a fanfiction involving the last two people she would ever have expected to ever be writing about.
