The Fairy from the Ocean [Intro]

Nessa was in her office room, staring down hard at a table full of numbers. Every now and then she would scribble into one of the boxes, reached over her desk to tap on her calculator, then check the figures to see if they correlated. It was a long process, checking over the guilds numbers for the month. Seeing how much their income was and how that compared to their expenditure. Fortunately things were balanced, Sorano wasn't a lavish guild master after all. Not exactly the type to go around buying unnecessary or expensive things for the guild. Most of it was just standard supplies, food and drink. The biggest source of their spending was the large quantities of juice cartons they ordered in. Although it wasn't an issue at present, if they received a drop in guild funds coming in, they may have to make juice cuts. She wasn't sure how that conversation would go down, she could think of at least one or two guilds members who would not be happy in the slightest. Althea was a great girl, but take away her juice, Nessa really wasn't sure she wanted to see her reaction. She sighed, Maybe I should take a big job soon, bring some funds in myself She thought, it had been a while since she had gone on a job. She had been so busy adapting to being an Ace, she hadn't really had much time to.

She sat back in her seat, dropping her pen down, she proceeded to stretch her body. She was completely stiff from being hunched over and working for so long. She looked over at her empty cup of tea. Maybe a break would be acceptable... She thought, glancing from the cup to the stack of paperwork a few times. She had been at it for a while after all, just a couple minutes to stretch her legs, get a fresh pot of tea before coming back and cracking on with the rest of it. She stood up, having convinced herself, she picked up the tray she had to the side of her desk. Empty tea pot, mugs, and miniature milk jug. She balanced it on one hand as she left her office. Making her way to the main guild hall, occasionally greeting her fellow guilds mates as she passed. She walked across the hall before placing the tray on the bar, "Can I fresh pot of tea and all the extras?" She asked the bartender, who nodded before taking away the tray and getting to work. She sighed once again, bringing her arms up, she began to stretch her muscles. It felt good to move around a little. She heard the sound of the guild doors opening and glanced over, noticing the unfamiliar gentlemen enter. He had dark brown hair, was quite tall and a little bit younger than herself. She definitely didn't recognise him as a fellow guild member, so she decided to approach. She headed over, greeting him with a friendly smile, "Hi there, can I help you?" She asked in her usual perky tone.

Did she overhear correctly?! Someone wanted to find a guild to work with?!

The girl overheard him while she was busy playing mahjong on one of the tables nearby the guy, at the bar specifically, drinking one of the shakes that Arcadia introduced her to. Not that she had it all slushified or anything, only Arcadia seemed to have that ability from what she saw from the guild so far.

Looking to the guy, the woman stood up and then walked closely to the other two. She hoped she would put on a good impression because the more that joined Fairy Tail, the merrier.

“Hello there!” The girl greeted. “Sorry, I couldn’t help but overhear that you were looking for a guild to work with. I was only over there playing mahjong.” She mentioned as she then pointed at a table with lots of mahjong tiles.

“My name is Mia, and I hope I am not intruding on anything?? Just thought I would pop in to say hello as well. I apologise.”

Mia always knew when to use her manners, and she was very happy and excited that someone was hopefully going to join Fairy Tail.

it seemed that her greeting was well-founded as the guy smiled back at her, before explaining that he as looking for a guild to work with. She beamed, A potential new member, how exciting! She thought eagerly, she had only been an Ace for so long and as it stood, the majority of it had been paperwork. A job here and there, but not much else. Recruiting a new member was something she had eagerly looked forward to. The prospect of helping her guild expand and welcome new members excited her. Before she could respond however, they were approached by someone else. A pretty brunette girl, Nessa recognised her as a new member she had seen around but hadn't really gotten a chance to know yet. Now would be a good opportunity to do so. She nodded as she introduced herself as Mia, before looking back at their guest.

"That's sounds awesome, hopefully we can provide you with what your looking for." She began to tell the guy, "My names Nessa, I'm one of Fairy Tail's Aces. How about we take a seat at one of the tables, I can get the bartender to provide some refreshments whilst we talk. Do you have any preferences?" Before turning and heading over to a nearby table, she nodded the bartender over as he handled her new tray of tea and condiments. She took a seat, "Thank you," She said the bartender, before turning to look at the other two in case they wanted to order as well. "So may I ask your name?" She asked the guy, figuring it would be good to be able to put a name to a face.

It was a very exciting time indeed. It was always an exciting time when goodness is bound to happen. Mia wanted to go back to her table but she couldn't resist going over to the bar with them. She can always finish her game of mahjong later when there isn’t so much excitement going around, she just had to make sure that nobody takes that seat and make sure that nobody puts her mahjong things away. It’s very unlikely it will though since Fairy Tail is a lovely guild and they respect peoples belongings.

Following the others, she heard that the guy wanted a latte, and then she saw little Arcadia emerging from the bar and being her little self. It made her smile and it made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Who knew that was what was going to happen?? She didn’t.

“Hey Arcadia!” The girl greeted and then chuckled to herself. “I didn’t expect you to show up all of a sudden!”

Right now, she wanted to hug the girl, but she knew that wasn’t probably a fantastic idea to do, considering she could’ve toppled over the guy’s latte.

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Sage.” She then bowed down slowly and took a seat. “Arcadia, sweetie. Can I have the strawberry slush please??”

Nessa recognised the little voice from behind the bar and grinned, she hadn't seen the little ice mage working behind there. Although that was most likely due to Arcadia being so small these days, it was an odd sight but Nessa was getting pretty used to it at this point. It was still the same Arcadia after all, just in a cuter more petite package. "Hey Arcadia, Careful on that chair okay," She said to the younger mage with a warm smile before looking back as the guy introduced himself as Sage. He seemed like a nice enough guy, who would most likely have no trouble fitting into the guild itself. She wondered for a moment what kind of magic he had to offer, but recalling what the next steps for initiating a new member were. This was Nessa's first potential recruit, she was doing well to suppress how excited she actually was.

She waited as Mia responded before commenting with a further question, "Well joining Fairy Tail, is a simple matter, I just need to ask you a couple questions to assess whether you're suitable. Standard procedure really, " She explained as a tray full of tea was brought over to her, a wise choice, a tray with this much might have been a little much for the tiny Arcadia to do. Nessa began to pour herself a cup of tea, adding her typical two sugars as she began her questions. "First of all, what are your intentions once you join Fairy Tail? Would you ever consider harming a fellow guild member or doing damage to any guild property?" She asked, recalling the questions Sorano had asked her so long ago. She understood the necessity of such questions, considering the guild's history. They had to assess whether someone was trustworthy, at the end of the day these people were being welcomed in a family. She picked up her teaspoon and began to stir her teacher, her violet eyes watching Sage to see how he would respond.

Nessa listened as Sage talked, nodded along with a small smile on her face. He seemed nice enough and his answers where pretty much as she expected. She doubted anyone would ever actually any those in a suspicious manner, it seemed like they would be more likely to lie about such a thing. Nessa hoped that wouldn't be the case, Fairy Tail, quite frankly had been through enough. "Well the guild is the perfect place to meet new people, and are list of available jobs is pretty vast," She replied. His next response was a little more vague, not intentionally doing damage still implied there was the possibility of doing damage. Financially the guild was doing pretty well for itself, but the cost of repairs and medical bills could easily do some damage to that.

"Well, we would just hope that you would be careful, should you need to we do infact have a training ground on the roof of the guild." She explained, she brought her tea to her lips and took a small sip. Before sliding out of ther seat, she headed over to the front desk. Reaching around she would grab the general materials needed to initiate a member. She would approach Sage with the stamp, which would an old block of unidentifiable material. "Where would you like your stamp?"

Nessa would stamp Sage on top right of his shoulder, where the material pressed against him, she would initiate the spell designed to mark them. Tracing the markings around the block for the imprinting, they would glow with light, a circle would light up and underneath would appear the Fairy Tail symbol. After recieving the guildmark, Sage would feel a tingling sensation from it, moving throughout his body. Just as she had when she recieved her guild mark. The blobs of light that floated around the guild would transform into Fairies, that were fluttering around the guild helping things operate. Carrying food and handling paperwork. Nessa smiled at Sage warmly, "Welcome to Fairy Tail." Pleased with the newest initiation to the guild, she hoped it lasted. The thing about these new members, is that it was so hard to tell if there were fleeting or if they would become a staple in the guild that was Fairy Tail.
