There had not been much of an answer to her last comment. Well, Samira could expect that since it wasn't a real important one given the circumstances, just a minor thought. Something was still off though in how the Assertive Jiyu was reacting, which was not reacting at all. There she was, hanging there with nothing to keep her from falling inside a deep hole that led to who knew where with the only thing keeping her up being the binding around both their wrists that they had created earlier. Surely the Inugami was feeling the same pain through her wrist as Samira was with her own, and even if she wasn't a better reaction had still been expected. "Are you all right up there?" Stupid question really what with the wails and moans of whatever was up there with Assertive Jiyu, but something had to be said. With where Samira was and her predicament seeing the Inugami completely zoned out was nearly impossible. "I guess not." Damn. They really did lose whatever cover they had, had. Thinking she should be getting up there rather than staying in that hole, Samira gave a harder kick to whatever had her legs to loosen the hold before trying to grab onto the edge of the floor with her other hand so that she could pull herself up. That tactic didn't work as well as she though.
She had grabbed onto the edge successfully but while pulling herself up she was latched onto again and tugged back down. At that point she was going to have to use magic to hopefully blow the thing away, which might end up drawing more attention their way. That wasn't even going into causing damage to the castle itself and having her fall all the way. She was a human; not some floating creature. Possibly going splat at the bottom was not on her list of things to do that day. Yet that seemed to change as soon as Jiyu snapped out of whatever state she had been in, shouting that Samira would have to tell her what happened later. Interesting. The Saint should have been asking her what happened all of a sudden instead. Before she could make much of a response Assertive had allowed herself to fall right into the hole with a wide eyed Samira. She knew staying above with the many creatures up there could have been disastrous for them, but to just fall in without warning? Something could have been said as a warning! The canine-girl had been the only thing keeping her up!
It seemed Jiyu had a plan, however. She had quickly fired magic shots at the hands that held the summoner, forcing them to release her, and as the two fell a giant feather appeared to catch them and slowly took them to the bottom of the hole they fell through. As soon as they reached the bottom the summoned feather vanished, dropping them both into a room filled with a pool of blood about a foot deep. Samira grimaced as she landed in it, parts of her clothes and skin now being covered in the bodily fluid. That was hardly hygienic. "I suppose it could be worse," she thought out loud to herself as she stood up, still expressing clear disgust at having landed right into it and being covered in the blood. And yet as cliche as ever that line seemed to make things worse than they were, and no, it wasn't her contracting some disease, but if her bloodline was normal then she probably would have been infected with something from the blood. There was luck in that regard since she was highly resistant to natural causes of disease and sickness. Assuming a whole pool of blood in a haunted castle could be classified as natural. Either way, skeletons within the room began to rise around them. If they remained the two women would get swarmed. As powerful as the two were in their own right, it wasn't wise to allow that to happen period. The stuff said about the library would have to be inquired about and explained later, no matter how random bringing it up right then seemed to be. "Right. Safety first." This also left no time to heal their wrists. Bearing the pain would have to do for now. Samira took off in the only exit that she could find. If that could even be called an exit at all. It was a straight shot all the way to the end with no turns. A sort of trap as the skeletons behind them followed and even more rose from the ground in front of them.
The shrieking of something deep within the castle continued, sounding as if it got closer and closer each time Samira heard it. If the skeletons did not end them then they would end up stalling them for whatever that was to catch up. There was one thing that made things not actually be as bad as they appeared. These were skeletons. Not some ghost of specter that she could not handle properly and lacked the magic and equipment to do so. Skeletons she could handle much better and that was where the castle made its mistake with its intended trap.
"Kali. Susano." Samira called the names of two of the spirits that had shown up earlier when Assertive Jiyu was taking over Mysterious, them two being the first on her mind to quickly cut down the skeletons that were in their way. As they each took some of her magic energy in order to be combative in her realm of existence, a flashy surge of energy radiated from their summoning portals and spread to hit many of the skeletons all around. This was followed by the two celestial spirits themselves going on ahead and cutting through the infinite forming skeleton army.
"Aw, hell. Samira next time try summoning me in an area that doesn't have its floor covered in blood that I have to run through!" The swordsman spirit shouted from up ahead.
"Next time summon me when there are enemies with flesh and blood." Skeletons were not an enemy that spirit enjoyed having to waste time with. It did not bring any satisfaction at all.
"Please be sure to send me your complaints after we are through this." Samira replied in her normal calm tone. Unlike the uncertainty that dealing with ghosts brought her there was nothing to worry about when it came to the current type of enemies. She had handled worse while in her guild.
Down the long corridor the rising skeletons started to be mixed with more fleshy looking zombies. The spirits could handle those too, but it got to the point where the two girls would be ahead of them and could see a much larger creature that was pieced together by random parts of flesh and rotting gore. Ew. Samira was not about to touch that in combat. There was one other issue too. Just like the hole opening that closed as they fell, the corridor also closed off as a wall materialized right behind the large sewn together creature. This would not deter Samira at all. It was just a wall. She had some abilities to get through them, but unfortunately she was unsure if it would spread to Jiyu as well. Now was not the time to test it. She would just have to use the power of Janus again. "Keep running and do not stop." Samira told the Inugami, almost commanding when before she had never used such a tone. The circumstances had changed though and she couldn't have her companion stop by thinking they'd run right into either that large creature or the wall itself. Granted Samira was sure Jiyu could fire shots at the thing just like she had shown earlier. Or something else from range. Just as long as she kept running Samira didn't care.
As they ran Samira's clothing shifted to replicate the clock-work mechanical design of the portal spirit used while outside the castle. The spirit himself was not going to show up even if summoned while combat was going on. His excuse always being that he was "an old spirit" and therefore too old for combative situations. A silly excuse, but one she respected, especially given that she could just use his powers for herself. The summoner then did something no summoner would normally ever do; she unhooked her keyring and threw it. Normally that would be a questionable move, but for her it was just another method of attack. All of they keys slid off the ring as it hovered in the air and then formed a circle. In that position each key fired off a mini beam that created a larger and more powerful one that headed straight for the stitched up zombie monstrosity. Whether alone or with Jiyu's help with her own attack the creature would be hit and explode into smaller pieces of rotting nastiness that would make many gag to be near let alone be touched by. Once they reached the wall a quick portal was made for the girls to go through it. Samira grabbed onto Assertive Jiyu's hand to make the stronger connection like before and ran through it. On the other side she force closed the portal before even checking her surroundings. Anything there was going to be better than where they had just come from. Kali and Susano, having gotten the telepathic word that Samira was out of that corridor, returned to their realm. The keys and keyring also appeared in the summoner's grasp as she let go of Jiyu's hand.
Samira looked around while trying to catch her breath from all that running and magic usage. It looked clear enough. They were surrounded by stone walls and cages but for the most part clear. It was to be expected since they had fallen onto a lower floor. Magically being right at the library would have been silly. "It looks clear," she stated, also noting that the shrieking had changed a bit. It was still angry but sounded different. It had most likely lost track of them because of that small trick of going through the wall. Somehow she doubted it would last for long, but hopefully long enough for them to catch their breaths and for her to find out what was going on. "So, you mentioned a library. That requires a bit of an explanation."
