- Job Title: The unusual Weed.
Rank: D
Player Requirements: 500 word requirement.
Job Requirements: Locate and remove the seven weeds. Bring a single sample back.
Job Location: Beanstalk Village
Job Description: Discovered by seeing a notice on the board: I’m an herbalist in Beanstalk Village and I had heard reports about a unique plant never before seen in Fiore. However it would seem that the plants sting anyone who touch it. Those who have touched it ended up in the hospital for a day or two. Nothing serious, but I’d like you to go remove them for the people’s protection. I would however, like a sample.
Once you return to the herbalist with at least one weed she thanks you and gives you the jewel
Enemies:
Weak:
Tiny purple plants with a single leaf that deal D rank damage upon physical contact. Takes 1 D rank attack to destroy.
Normal
Purple plants the size of one’s hand with two leaves that deal D rank damage on contact. Takes 2 D rank attacks to destroy.
Strong
Purple plants with three large leaves that are larger and more durable that deal D rank damage if approached. Takes 3 D rank attacks to destroy.
Reward:
500 Jewel
I've been out there and seen the things she's made
"So I'm being paid to... trim some hedges."
Granted, it wasn't quite that simple but it was still a relatively menial task in comparison to some of the other things he had done thus far. As he stared out at garden, he couldn't help but let out a small groan. It wasn't that he was against getting paid -- five hundred jewel was still jewel after all -- but after having faced bandits and an underground labyrinth, returning to relatively slower paced jobs was a bit dull. But the job board had been scarce of its postings and he still needed jewel so he had taken the job flyer asking for help. It was from the herbalist in Beanstalk Village, claiming that some plant had shown up that had never been chronicled before. But when some of the villagers had tried to pluck it, it had stung them and put them on bed rest. It was quite the potent poison to be able to do that, even if it wasn't killing anyone.
So he'd made the trek to the village, leaving at night to get a better travel time. He had managed to arrive at the edge of the village right at daybreak, with the sun thrusting over the horizon to cast its bright gaze across the land. Unfortunately the herbalist hadn’t mentioned where his or her house had been on the flyer so that left Mythal up to having to ask for directions. Normally he wouldn’t do such a thing but the alternative was knocking on every door and having to converse with a whole number of people. That seemed more annoying than just asking a single person to point him in the right direction. Once he found the house, he was greeted by a short, loony looking woman with large glasses and pale purple hair. She spoke at such a speed that the God Slayer could only barely keep up. She wanted a sample of the plant – no, she needed a sample – and she needed it as soon as possible. There were breakthroughs she needed to discover and that mysterious new plant could be the answer! She provided a picture of the plant for him and then shoved him out the door, pointing him in the direction he needed to find it.
And so that’s how he found the garden and frankly, it would have been more impressive to miss the plant. He’d wandered right to the wooden fence around the tilled land and spotted it immediately; a dark purple bloom among the more muted colors. Its three leaves expanded outwards from its colorful body, seemingly harmless at a glance but apparently the source of the sick villagers so far. "Jewel is jewel after all,” he muttered as he brought up his right hand, the limb becoming cloaked in his shadow magic. Best to make this as quick as possible. He leapt over the fence and at the plant, his right arm already cocked back. He slammed it into the heart of the plant, using his punch to pole-vault over the plant and land on the other side of it. He brought his hand forward again in a back fist, tearing through the closest two leaves in front of him. He finished it off with another downward punch, crushing the bulb into a thousand, wet pieces.
Only one of the leaves remained intact, which Mythal quickly speared with a twig so not to hurt himself. With that all set, he headed back to the herbalist with her sample and his awaiting payment.
