- Job Description:
Job Title: The Shrouded Stalker
Rank: D
Player Requirements: 500 Word Requirement. Must have completed first.
Job Requirements: Return to the Herbalist and hear what she has to say, as well as deal with the stalker.
Job Location: Beanstalk Village
Job Description: You have received a letter from the Herbalist, stating that she needs you to come immediately as she has done some research, and needs a wizard’s opinion on the matter. On the way to Beanstalk village you may or may not notice a figure cloaked in black, following you in the shadows. If you choose to assault him he will flee. If you catch up to him, he will defend himself. If you leave him be he will continue to follow you unseen. Along the way, you also notice one or two of those weeds you helped the herbalist collect not too long ago.
Once you reach the village the herbalist leads you into her home and begins to explain the plant. She tells you that it grows it's roots through literally anything, breaking down the physical material in order to spread. Once it has spread a good deal, it's roots sprout to the surface and begin to form into a new plant. While she explains this, the stalker will be listening through the walls. You must either kill, or arrest the stalker before this job can be completed. In the end, she decides to send this information to a friend of hers who is a scientist and a wizard, in order to get more information.
After killing or arresting him, you can check him for anything he has on him. If you do, you will discover a used match, and a silver coin with a skull on one side, and a hand on the other. Upon hearing about the stalker and your killing him, Herbalist will give you the jewel
Enemies:
Weak: The cloaked stalker carries no weapon and attempts to take you down with hand to hand combat. With each successful hit, he deals up to half your rank in damage. It takes three rank D hits to kill him.
Normal: The cloaked stalker wields a deadly dagger and appears to be proficiently skilled with the weapon, dealing up to your rank in damage. To kill him requires five rank D hits to kill him. Note that he is rather agile and evasive.
Strong: The cloaked stalker wields a black rapier designed to kill and is very fast, agile, evasive and precise with his blows. He can deal up to x2 of your rank in damage with each strike. It takes seven rank D attacks to kill him, if you can land a hit on him at all that is.
Reward: 1,000 Jewel

Re: The Plague (2/5)
Johann felt better now that he had slept in a real bed for the night. He wasn't the youngest anymore and sleeping on dirt and stone for weeks on end really wasn't too healthy. The herbalist kept her promise and gave Johann her spare bedroom on the attic of the stone house that doubled as a lab. Even though she seemed to be a bit messy and confused all the time, the herbalist appeared to be an expert in her field and, with precision and swiftness, analyzed the samples Johann had brought her. She found out that the plants were indeed poisonous, Johann was happy he brought pincers, but she needed a day to come up with more accurate results regarding the nature of these plants. In addition to that, she asked Johann to stay a while longer since she needed a mages opinion on the matter and guaranteed him that she would take care of food as long as Johann would offer his help. In addition to that, she even offered a small sum of jewels for every help Johann would give. He couldn't say no to that, and thus, he decided to stay in Beanstalk Village a while longer.
He came down the narrow ladder that led to the attic and headed for the kitchen for breakfast. The herbalist, her name was Rose, had already prepared a hearty breakfast for both of them and so he sat down at the small table. Scrambled eggs, sausage and beans. Johann didn't expect such a nice meal, but he was happy nonetheless. They both ate while having a friendly chat about this and that, Johann told her about his travels and she how she ended up in Beanstalk Village. In contrast to what would follow, this was an almost magnificent atmosphere.
After they had both finished their breakfast they got into Roses living room, where she also conducted some of her experiments, to get the results of the analysis. Rose took a small pot and a vial and presented them to Johann. She opened her mouth to explain "A-As we guessed, the plant is highly poisonous and, to my surprise, a-also highly corrosive". She raised the small vial and gave a drop of the concentrated solution on a piece of scrap metal that seemed to burn away instantly, leaving only a deep hole and a black stain in the middle of the metal. "I-in addition to that, it seems like, uhm, the plants produce ... roots. And these roots make their way through almost anything. S-see ?". Johann now started to notice that the pot was cracked in multiple places. "It looks like the plant spreads through the roots, almost like a shroom, and then grows new plants once it has spread a good deal". While she was explaining that, Johann heard a small thump at the door of the house, but he signalled her to keep talking and quietly made his way to the front door.
He ripped it open in a big swing to find a cloaked person listening at the door, that now fell over in confusion and shock. Johann drew his Rapier. "May I ask what the meaning of this is, good sir?" The other got back on his feet, but didn't answer and instead, fished up a dagger from under his black robe and instantly attack Johann. He, however, was prepared for such an assault and dashed to the side. The attacker missed him and Johann used his superior speed to quickly move around him and hit him in the head with the handle of his sword. The man collapsed forward and hit the ground, he was unconscious.
Johann quickly searched the man who, apart from the dagger, also carried a burned match and a strange coin with a skull on one side and a hand on the other. He stored the things he had taken from the man in his own pockets and informed the authorities.
