There was a friendship deep under the surface which would not break, brothers of the buttocks being able to part ways have have distance with a bond that was unbreakable as a tupperware box it was something he took pride in. That being said he missed the unity, the days that they spent together n sync. It was rare now for them to all just have time, so this moment in time was precious, for he had planned to spend it with Theo. The dark haired boy which he had dropped a pie on before going to get an iLac with. There were sweet memories that they both shared together, so hopefully that bond could stretch a little further.

Originally he had planned to spend some time with Theo, going down to one of the craftsmen and taking a brief lesson in sculpting with clay. Not the most formal lesson it would have been riddled with casual humor and relaxed jokes, squishing clay into little blobs and pretending they were great dragons he had plans that the two of them would just relax. Let the sun filter through their hair as the wind swept it up into a nice mess atop their heads. Yet now he sat, casual clothes befitting of his saddened mood, on the bench. Head peering over the side his face reflected on the surface of the waters. Theo would have noticed that his partner hadn't arrived, perhaps he should have sent a messenger or something yet the greying bodies floating in the waters worried him more.

"Lesteeerrrr," a light whine came from behind, still enough distance away to dampen the loudness, but growing closer by the second. While Crystal Swan had amassed quite the collection of white haired males, he'd always know the one belonging to his best friend the best. Now fully arrived at the bench, he nestled his half of the butt brother glory next to its mate, though his position was much more relaxed and happy than his counterpart...a detail he'd yet to pick up. "You stood me up again!" he lamented, though more in jest than not. While it was true that Theo hadn't been his normal self since the incident, he'd been making an effort to try and return to normal. The new scars on the backs of his limbs and up his spine were so fresh they were still pink, and though it was a strange admission, he'd never been so glad to feel pain in his life. Did he still fear pain? Yes, but somehow not being able to feel anything had been far worse.

Finally noting his friend's down posture, he leaned forward. "Hey, what's the matter?" asked the jello mage, following the sightline to the murky water and the slick bodies bobbing within. "W-What happened to them?" his voice saddened. The beautiful koi were dead. Starting to decay. Their lives snuffed out, despite any aspirations or dreams or family... Okay, so his emotions and general psychological state was still terribly raw, because the sight of the death had his eyes prickling and breathing quickening before he could tell himself they were just fish.

It was coming, the moans of a man hardly alive similar to that of a zombie it could have been recorded and put into the walking dead as a general zombie noise.  Theo, Theo! A couple of blinks drew him away from the surface, eyes searching as their soft hues searched the area for a familiar stumbling person. "Stood you up huh, now there you go, making it sound like we were going on a date. Be careful with words like those otherwise you'll have a certain two girls here with knives~" Light, the words were jovial and kind, as Theo came to look down at the limp bodies of the fish. A sadness falling over the duo as his face darkened. "When I came to meet you there was a small child crying, he said the fish were dead so I came to look. Their bodies don't look deformed, but it could be anything from someone killing them directly to the food being wrong, or there could be a predator in the water who knew maybe its an omen from the gods that I don't know if I believe in." exasperated the words were tinged with defeat. Brows drew Ethernet forming creases around the dull watermelon eyes which he had become reasonably know for. Would Theo know what to do? There could be so many variables of what went wrong. "We should also give them a little burial or something, ask one of the craftsman to make a small sign so the children can be happy. Everyone liked those fish I don't know who would have done it if it were intentional."

As gross as the sensation of dead aquatic flesh was, Theo moved forward to kneel at the edge of the pond and reverently pulled the fish corpses up and placed them on the grass. They hadn't decayed so much that they weren't still beautiful, if only lifeless. Their motionlessness felt so wrong. Nodding in agreement with Lester's idea of a burial and a sign for the children, blobs of jello encased the fish and froze in a temporary fix for their deterioration and smell.

That done, determination crossed Theo's face. "...The water doesn't seem as clear as usual. Something must be up with the filter thingy." As if the two girls in their lives wouldn't have been threatened before, now the man hailing from Desierto was stripping down to his boxers with a quickness slowed only by his healing body's current limitations. Bright new scars seemed to glow against his sunkissed skin, making all the other old scars much less notable. Well, all except the ugliest one over his heart on the front and back. His new nervous system had some quirks he was still getting through, like a general tremble and even clunkier fine motor skills than the clumsy man was already known for. It was a process, but regardless he lost his footing after his last sock was off and crashed into the water. Ace material, right here. Mostly naked, sad over fish, and falling into a pond. But Theo Silversong was who he was, and nearly nothing could change that. Bobbing up with a deep gasp, Theo grinned at his squad mate, sheepish but unembarrassed. "When I swim down, what should I look for?"

It was a little, well, Theo was happy to get his hands scaly from the fish. When the dark haired guild mate had brought them out at first he flinched away from their bloated little forms. Yet it felt wrong not to give them some amount of respect, for they were rather beautiful and wonderful creatures who had brought so much delight to the guild, children watched them play and the artists just adored to draw them, this would have to be sorted quickly. Perhaps some other fish could be moved into this pool once whatever killed these ones was solved. As he started to bring them out lester knelt down infront of one nearby tree, hand pressed against the soil as he urged roots to grow, like a roof they swirled upwards and pushed away the soil. The wood of the roots below forming a small cradle, almost coffin like it was clean. Flowers bloomed around it as he urged the blossoming petals to let go of their plant and form a cushioning bed of colour. Each fish was limp in his hand, their scales slightly coming loose as he laid them to rest he couldn't help the sombre feeling.

The filter, oh yes, he glanced up to reply but raised his brows instead as the ace presented his skin to the world. It was scarred, where the skin had been removed and partially healed over, the cuts across arms from that Deity or whatever the demon called herself they shone like beacons. Not of hope but a solemn reminder that there were those in the world with the power to make others hurt. One of those people was himself. AT the end of removing his last sock Theo had, well he was Theo so it was expected, leaning forwards slightly he plucked the sock up from where it fell and neatly folded all the closes, placing them out of the way from any rouge waves that might be sent their way. The smile was something he was glad for, "There'll be a grate of sorts, we'll need to take the grate off then there'll be plants or something blocking the filter. The grate should just come off with a hard tug. You need help in there?" He had no burning desire for a swim, yet the pond was large and where ever that filter was it would be annoying to deal with.

"No, no, no, I can do it!" Theo overcompensated, a little over eager to show he had healed back to normal and didn't need help or sympathy. The human psyche was a strange and fragile thing, and something he seemed to keep a tenuous grasp on lately. It showed in the panicked vibrato in his voice that hadn't been there before, the occasional but ever vigilant eye scan partly for threats, the deity, or simply because eye contact was hard to keep when he felt so much unlike himself inside. The squad mate would prove his worth again, or shatter trying.

With a deep breath he disappeared beneath the surface, swimming straight down until he saw the grate. The jello mage was a pretty strong dude, especially so with his new nerves. Pulling the metal up wasn't an issue. Pulling out some tangled plants wasn't bad either. However, neither seemed to get the system functioning again, not even a kick on the mechanism below. For a filtration system to work, it needed to actually pump water, right? No wonder algae and murk was starting to take over the normally crystalline pond. Theo was about to give it another good knock when a shadow passed over. It didn't seem like a cloud. It seemed...closer. As if he could sense it. His hyper vigilance was kicking in, though he was terrified to turn around. Would it be her again? Wasn't she done? He hadn't been a good doormat lately, up walking and talking. A very bad doormat indeed. The Deity would return and punish him, take his new nerves and maybe something else to insure his purpose was realized as a simple thing to wipe muddy soles on. Despite being underwater, he felt the urge to inhale. But that would be stupid. Stupid stupid...

Maybe it was Lester? If the jello man had been down here long enough, perhaps his friend came to check on him and see if he needed help? No, he knew it was something worse. With halting motions he turned, expecting a nightmarish sight of a water-swirled white hair and glowing acid lips twisted into a sadistic grin as the acid lotion peddler forced his flesh to melt off and took something else from him. A limb or something. Yet, what he did see wasn't her, but something that could remove a limb with equal expertise. A shark. Of course there was a shark. In a pond. On a flying ship. Logic vacated his mind as terror retook its place as his primary emotion as of late. Did he notice the neon green polkadots or the cartoonish eyes and proportions? Absolutely not. He'd fought these devils in the sea while taking out a monster fish for a greedy fisherman, so just the silhouette of one was enough to identify and prompt the flight part of his acute stress response to take over.

Released all his air in a ill-conceived scream, Theo launched up with all his might and swam for the surface. Just as black dots formed he popped back up with a splash, gasping and sputtering as he flailed for dry land. Flopping up into the grass, he pointed at the fin slicing the water. "S-Shark!" he squalled with tears in his eyes that were thankfully masked with pond water, gripping his chest as he heaved for air. An overreaction? Definitely. But considering what the man had recently been through, was it beyond the scope of understanding?

He seemed so happy to do it, best let him have at it then, with a simple movement of his hands the burial closed over, vines growing over the hole budded and bloomed in an explosion of colour as they marked the final resting place of the guilds past pet fish. When his head raised the other male was floundering around happily, diving deep under and although he couldn't see it he could sense his partners lean body weaving its way through the underwater murk. His mind focused in the grave however, for it would grow to be a place that many would come to pay their respects to, it had to be nice, a calm little space with some flowers and clovers, soft grass and plenty of sun. It was quite close to the road yet that would bother no child, Lester was in a moment of bliss, happily humming as he encouraged flowers to bloom and spread their petals wide open to the world as a sudden plume of bubbles rose from deep within the pond. Hair whipped around as the males watermelon hues settled on the disturbed surface as a familiar figure flung himself out of the waters, dragging himself through the water towards the bank where he sat. Offering a hand as Theo hauled himself out of the water Lester's eyebrows simply raised in question. He seemed okay, a little shocked no doubt and shaken up yet there were no physical wounds.

A shark? Now that was something he hadn't heard of before, it was now worry that creased his forehead as a towel grew in his hands. "Here, I guess, a shark. we'll have to deal with it right. Can't leave a health and safety hazard swimming around especially in such a public area." voice light as he leg the towel drop onto his teammates head the slayer embraced the water with a single toe before shuddering back. "It does seem to be a little cold indeed" No matter, clothes piled on the ground soon enough he was encased within a simplistic beach outfit and a swimming ring. Oh he could swim, his skill shad been displayed to the ebony haired male many a time before often whilst wearing tight spandex. Yet now he would be able to perch on the inflated ring and remove the shark. A shiver curling up his back as the water surrounded him Lester sat cross legged atop the inflatable. Senses alert for any sign of the beast swimming below.

It was ominous indeed, the form lurking in the growing murk below. At first it swam sporadically in every which direction, as if searching for its lost prey. The round shadow looming above caught its attention, and before long it was beginning a slow circling ascension to the guild master perched on a lovely floating donut.

Theo was shook, laying on the grass clutching the towel. "Be careful!" he called, feeling poorly about leaving this to Lester. This new way of life was hard for him. His reactions to things were different. Before he'd have fought the watery foe, just like he'd done before. But now, he just felt a trembling in his belly and the most powerful and out of place sensation of impending doom. His flesh paled in the face of this danger, and though he told himself it was nothing compared to what he endured, simply allowing his brain to trace the edge of those memories quickened his breath. How long would he continue to suffer her. She wasn't even here!

A fin broke the water's surface. "There it is!" his friend called, frantically waving to it as if Lester couldn't easily see it. The neon green polka dots were plenty obvious. Theo saw them, and it occurred to him that perhaps the water beast wasn't a real danger at all, yet his overly panicked brain insisted it was just a new breed that was even more dangerous than a normal shark, and that Lester was in immediate danger. Then something odd happened. As the toonish sharp bobbed toward Lester, Theo fell unnaturally silent. Hands formally wringing the towel were completely still, matching his entire body. It was as if he'd become a statue.
