Etoile Flumenbolt VS Zeno Sombras

Etoile walked into a dark path, slowly but steadily. Her opponent was Zeno Sombras, the strongest mage in Fiore. Etoile was not afraid, nor was she absolutely sure that she would win. Etoile entered the ancient building and felt the breeze as she arrived. Etoile looked around, and found no sight of Zeno. Etoile impatiently sighed and waited for her opponent to arrive.

The ruins of the building were covered in dust and dirt. Dust flew up in the air everytime Zeno made a step forward. It was an interesting setting for an arena. Candles and a full moon were the only natural lightsources they would have during the fight.

Zeno was very curious about his opponent. The Sky Dragon Slayer. He always thought Sky Dragon Slayers were more like healers, and less focused on offense. Still, Zeno knew better than to underestimate his opponent.

He entered what was left of the dining hall and stared across the room. He could look into the hallway, the most intact part of the building. In the doorway, he saw his opponent waiting. Unsure of how to proceed, Zeno waited for her to make the first move.

Etoile noticed the breeze was getting more strong and swifter. Etoile thought that it was simply her excitement building up. Etoile observed the man in front of her, mentally going through some of her strategies, Etoile smiled at Zeno. "A pleasure to see you Zeno," wryly said Etoile "I will begin now, please be ready". With that, Etoile started gathering nearby air into her mouth, as the arena was rather untouched, the air was very clean, however the dust started flying around, something that greatly displeased Etoile. However Etoile ignored the dust and focused on the task on hand. Etoile then released a hurricane-like roar at Zeno.

Knowing she was a Sky Dragon Slayer and hearing her warning was enough for Zeno to leap out of the way of the roar the moment Etoile breathed in. He heard the walls fly apart behind his back. Stones and dust flew around the place and Zeno was standing a bit further in the hallway. Bricks flew straight through the walls, but Zeno was out of range. The dust would be quite a disadvantage for both of them. It had already spread across the place like mist. Not to mention that it became hard to breathe, Etoile would probably have a hard time with Spells that require her to breathe in as well from now on.

Zeno tore a piece of cloth off of his cape and placed it over his mouth. He then tied it behind his head with a firm knob. The improvised scarf would allow him to take in some cleaner air.

Zeno then grabbed the zweihänder handle, that was hanging from a chain around his waist, in his right hand. Ready to activate it at the appropriate moment. In an eyeblink a few cards appeared in his left hand.
He remained silent and stayed close to the wall in the shadows. He kept the silver greatsword handle under his cape so that it would not reflect the moon, as there was no roof above his head in that part of the building.
The wall provided the shadows, and even if Etoile would enter the hallway, here eyes would have to adjust to the darkness before she would realize he was hiding in plain sight. Especially with the moon shining brightly above.

Etoile quickly hesitated to use Sky Dragon's Wing Attack, but refused the idea. Etoile coughed a bit, and stared warily into the target. It seemed evident that it had not hit, as Etoile had heard him leap. Etoile quickly increased the speed of the wind, blowing away most of the dust out of the arena. Etoile then had a clearer look at Zeno. Etoile pondered for a few moments on what spell to use. Etoile had to be careful with the choice of her spells, as she was facing the strongest mage of Fiore in battle. Etoile realized that the wind was an advantage for one of her spells. However, Etoile waited for Zeno to attack first, as she felt that he was merely delaying her.

Suddenly there was a gust of wind and Zeno realized Etoile was standing closer than he had thought as the dust cleared up. She could see him.

Immediately, he jumped up towards the wall opposite of him, while activating a card. He performed a wall run upward as another card in the deck holder dissolved simultaneously with one in his hand. In mid-air a figure was formed out of the arcane energy that had been released from the card. It was a cloaked, masked figure and it flew straight into Zeno's body before he lost momentum. In an instant, Zeno's cape caught fire, his half mask became full and he was wearing a cloak. The flames on the cape were dark purple, and he wrapped them around his left arm.

It was the Major Arcana card: The Magician. He was also now levitating above the walls, as a result of the Major Arcana card: The Hanged Man that had been activated along with The Magician.

Having the higher ground he was now free to move anywhere without obstructions that would limit his ability to dodge enemy attacks. With ranged Spells at Etoile's disposal, and nowhere to run for Zeno, he had been at a disadvantage. But not anymore. Immediately after the transformation, Zeno fired five arcane firebolts at Etoile with his left hand using the power of his cape. The bolts had been fired at a high rate and there was almost no space between them.

Etoile quickly casted her Sky Dragon's Sharp Sky spell, and quickly protected herself from the arcane fireballs with her invisible projectiles. Etoile was relieved, as she thought that she would not be able to make it. However, to her relief, the projectiles defended her from the attack. Etoile then observed the flying mage before her. With her previous spell, Wind Increase, Sky Dragon's Sharp Sky was faster and stronger than it normally would be. Etoile then shot the projectiles at Zeno.

Zeno saw his firebolts vanishing as if other projectiles collided with them. He observed Etoile's motions in the process and realized Etoile had control over the wind around him, and that it was easy for him to get trapped whenever he got within her range. He activated the power of the silver handle in his hands. A broad blade of green Arcane Energy was unleashed from the handle and it turned into broadsword.

When Etoile shot her projectiles at him, Zeno turned sideways, twisted the handle so that he was holding it upside-down, and hid behind the blade. The invisible projectiles took impact on the blade with a higher force than Zeno had thought and he was pushed backwards a bit by every hit.

In response, Zeno leaned out of the cover of his blade with his left hand and fired five more energy bolts at Etoile.

Etoile spotted the 5 energy bolts and quickly casted Flight. A spell that allowed her to fly. Etoile quickly flew and dodged the bolts with her increased flight capabilities. Etoile observed the large broadsword that Zeno wielded and initially refused the idea of Sky Dragon's Wing Attack. Etoile quickly made swift hand movements and made the sharp wind form a circle around Zeno and slice towards Zeno from all sides.

As soon as Etoile took off and dodged his attack, a card appeared in Zeno's left hand. As Etoile swiftly moved her hands, the card dissolved and became a large wheel of Arcane energy. The wheel spun around counterclockwise at a very high speed. It was the Major Arcana Spell; The Wheel of Fortune Reverse. Zeno let it collide with the wind as he flew up. All of a sudden, the wind slowed down, allowing Zeno to easily dodge it. The wind was no longer sharp but blunt. It could now actually conquer Earth Magic, but it had become much too slow to actually deal damage.

As the wind around him had slowed down, Zeno had sped up instead. He was already hovering above Etoile when lots of cards dissolved around his left arm and became a swirling mass of energy. "Minor Arcana: The Suit of Wands!" Zeno said as he rapidly swung his arm downward and fired a huge amount of explosive Arcane energy bolts at Etoile from above.
