Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ H Rank
The bakedanuki should have recognized the sudden and foreboding rain to begin spilling on the roof of the inn. However, she had been too caught up in the moment to even give it a second thought. That was, until the raven and alabaster haired mage came strolling into the main restaurant and bar area of Silver Moon Inn. The guild master only had a chance to warmly nod at the silvernette before facing the disappointment and fury of the guild ace.
Terrorists and murderers, of course. Izayuki was aware of what their newer ally, Basilisk Fang, was known for. However, outright fighting them would just continue things in the everlasting cycle of dark guilds versus legal guilds. She had intentions to use them as she could, reduce their funds and assets, and if she could, change them from the inside out to be far less violent. Naturally, such a thing would seem like wishful thinking, but if any organization had the ability to grow corrupt, it also had the potential to turn good. Besides, they both shared the same enemy. Why waste efforts fighting with one another when one could instead focus double energy on their opponent, and settle the score with each other later.
Izayuki stood in silence while the ace continued, daring not to speak too soon. She suddenly wished she had, however, as the floodgates were opened and the astonishing amount of anger flowed forth in torrential waves. The bakedanuki maintained eye contact with the cyan-eyed girl, but as soon as her own loss of her children was mentioned, she broke away and glanced off to the side, towards the ground, before slowly gazing back up at Astrid. It would be so easy to just ask the ace see her in her office, or to just sit there and take it until Kiru left the area. However, surrounded by so many guildmates, the guild master had been backed into a corner. She needed to respond to Kiru, in front of everyone. At the last stinging comment, the ayakashi frowned, clenching her teeth slightly before looking back up to face the blazing Kiru.
“My child still lives,” she declared, glancing at Astrid before returning Kiru’s hard gaze. “She didn’t die. I already knew of her fate, and that she would be saved from it.”
She was not too keen to dive into details yet. After all, this was not solely about her for once, nor did she even want too much attention. She had not explicitly mentioned the name of her daughter, Astrid, but potentially a keen observer would notice the quick glance and possibly the similarity in their souls, should they be able to perceive such. “Kiru, there is a such thing as forgiveness for those who ask for it. And there is a such thing as trying to pull the good out of others. Many members of our guild have dark and tragic backgrounds, but they’re here now, taking the chance at redeeming themselves. This is something Black Rose has always prided themselves on, providing a refuge and second chance for everyone, and forgetting the past.”
Izayuki paused for a moment, knowing that a guild virtue alone was not enough to counter or respond to Kiru with. “Astrid paid for the damages and will work to prove herself and make up for the losses of lives. What do you want us to do, turn her away and see her take refuge someplace where she won’t get a second chance?” the bakedanuki asked, crimson eyes narrowing. “When a murderer is turned down when they ask for a second chance or seek redemption, their only option left is to stray further down a dark road. Is that what you want for my child, Kiru?”
The bakedanuki lashed her tail in mild frustration, daring Kiru to respond poorly to the revelation of just who Astrid was. “If you wish to discuss our current alliances, we can arrange to do so later today,” she concluded, deciding that it would be both inconvenient and rude to discuss an alliance with a dark guild while welcoming a new member, and out in public.
