It felt strange, being a part of a Guild. A Guild that was sworn to protect people, no less. A home, in another words. It put a smile on Zen's face. But while he wanted to go out there and help people out, there was something that piqued his interest. The young man was reading a newspaper as he sat on a side of pavement, when he noticed an advertisement for something peculiar. The peculiar item in question was a device of sorts, named 'iLac'. Apparently it allowed the person with an iLac to communicate with an another person, who also had an iLac across large distances. It also supposedly had some sort of platform, where it kept track of various useful information, such as time. /"Definitely sounds useful."/ As long as he knew an another person who had an iLac, which was none, at the time. But that would change, perhaps. The ad also said that one could obtain an iLac for free, if they were to visit the very factory, where they were produced, in the Neutral Grounds. /"Right, the place that doesn't allow magic."/ Zen wondered how it would affect him. Still, he saw how useful that lacrima device would be, if he could get his hands on it. And he thought that he would do just that.

It took Zen a little bit to open up the portal back to the Guild, but he could see that it was significantly faster than the very first time he had tried it. The young man packed only the bare essentials, as he could always make a portal to skip back to the Guild. However, he still needed to travel to the Neutral Grounds, so he set off as soon as he could. The road was calm, Zen managed to hitch a ride on a caravan for most of the journey. The rest of it, he walked. He was nearing the Neutral Grounds, when he suddenly felt his magic sort of.. dissipate. Or just get muted. The demon to whom his soul was chained struggled against the anti-magic barrier, but to no avail. Overall, he felt fine, though. Almost as he was back then, before any of the demon stuff happened. Thankfuly, finding the factory was incredibly easy. There were signs plastered around the streets that marked the way to the factory. Zen obediently followed the signs and soon enough he walked upon a remarkably sized, modern-looking building. It had a giant sign that said 'iLac' on the side. /"Seems like it's the right place."/ The young man thought, as he approached what he considered was an entrance. He stepped inside and almost bumped into a person. There was already a group of people, waiting for something or someone. "The tour is starting! Everybody who wants to see the inside of the factory, come with!" Zen could hear a young woman's voice from somewhere up ahead, but even with his height he couldn't properly see. Either way, he decided to stick with the group, discreetly.

They were shown various machines and procedures that Zen just didn't understand. He grew up as a backstreet's infamous, not an engineer. The lady who was showing them the factory naturally didn't go into too much detail about what they did. But what Zen understood at the very least was the usage of lacrima crystals. Well, sort of. He would have to ask somebody about how those crystals worked in a place where magic wasn't allowed. /"Yet an another thing on my bucket list."/ Zen's bucket list wasn't extensive, but items appeared on it in strange large bursts. He felt like the end of the tour was coming, though. "All right, ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for joining me for this tour of our lovely factory!" His hunch was right. "Please proceed further and pick up your very own iLac, courtesy of the factory!" The lady said as she waved the guests goodbye. Zen slightly pushed forward, as he wasn't particularly interested in any pleasantries. Luckily for him, some people knew what she was talking about before and were discussing it, so they didn't notice Zen walk ahead of them. There was a somewhat larger-sized room, that had several clerks standing around the iLac boxes, so that they could help people out and also keep watching so that nobody stole anything. The young man reached for one of the boxes and took it with him. He really didn't feel like having a conversation with a factory clerk. Zen only hoped that the iLac came with an instruction manual.
    NOTES
Slightly boring, but hopefuly quite worth it in the future.  -Zen
