Amused as I was, I started to grow peeved at Markus, thinly veiling his disdain, and insults, to those he called "guild mages", using the phrase as a pejorative title. I looked at him cross for a moment, before chuckling to myself, despite the circumstance, and reason; not to. I looked at him for a moment, while my hands reached up, tapping the small metal brooch in my hair, which granted me the aesthetic pleasure I so loved. I ran my fingers through my hair, fading out the purple into a copper orange, before tracing my jawline into an elegant "heart" shape structure. I grew a couple inches, all the while still looking at Markus and walking forward. I finished with my skin tanning very slightly, and my irises matching into a bluish silver color. I finally spoke as we neared the next room, saying in my slightly jovial tone:
"Yes I am, Markus. I work with the guild Lamia Scale, A guild about monster hunting. I don't know what your qualms with guilds are, but they make it easy for me to find jobs to do, and give me a place to stay, which in turn gives me a nice place to nap."
I turned away from Markus at that, finding myself in the room they entered, last. I stood there and watched as Aven annihilated the man, leaving him unconscious and spasming on the unnatural stone floor, his steel weapon of which I saw for a few moments, clattered to the floor astride his quite literally lightning struck body. I didn't get to see where the 24 holes in the man's clothes and armor came from, but I can safely say that assuming it also came from my companion who stood aside me for a moment, was not the least safe bet I could have made. I watched Aven move to, and mess with the stone tablet lid that covered what was assumed, by me of course, was the final resting place of someone long dead. I walked up, and with the ease of pushing aside a large pillow, I pushed the lid off the sarcophagus, and revealed a skeleton garbed in red and gold, holding a gold orb with lines and circles engraved into it. Looking at it, and with both child-like glee, and a raiders somber realization, I took the golden orb from the hand that held it, and looked at it with a sense of Child-like wonder, moved away from the tomb of the man, and began to fidget with it. I started off amused, then after a few more minutes, I grew frustrated, before I found one of the circles depressed, then the orb's northeastern hemisphere rotated counter clockwise, revealing a map, one which detailed my position, and magically recreated in the air around me. I looked at them both, before shutting down the map, and looking sheepishly at the two, holding the orb behind my back, with a clenched hand holding it tightly. I looked about the room for a few minutes, all the while pressing my back, and the orb behind it, into the wall behind me. Pressing my back against the orb, and subsequently the wall, I looked at both Aven and Markus, eyes flicking between the two, before saying:
"Well boys, I have something I'd like to keep quite a lot. I would be rather pleased to hear you be alright with that, but I'm willing to hear arguments."
I grew tense for a moment, as Aven had demonstrated an... interesting power already, and yet Markus still had a tendril of shadowy plant matter. Thankfully for me, however, I had yet to reveal more than two of my tricks. With no visible actions after a few moments, I relaxed slightly, holding the orb in front of me, though still tense in my hand. I let the cracking form of the hands of Caine drop, and kept my eyes trained on them, before speaking in a less tense tone then prior: "Sorry, I'm rather attracted to things that have a gleam, shimmer or shine. I like gems and gold, or things of great beauty. I'd still like to keep it, please don't misinterpret, I'm just apologizing for my... rude behavior." I then sighed, and walked closer to them, holding myself in good posture while looking at them with determination in my eyes. "Well, I hope that I keep it. That's the last that I'll say about it."
