Just a Pet Party

It was mid morning when Gaia had waltzed into the town of Ace of Spades after setting up her home. She recently bought a house on the outskirts of town, and was slowly decorating it up her way. Despite not having magic, she was earning good money regardless. Noya was perking her head up as they walked passed a butchers shop, snickering at the creature as she gingerly pet her head. "You have meats already. You need to calm yourself..." She murmurs. Today seemed like it would be a good day to roam the town, and a walk with her pet would be lovely.

As she walked around a little bit, a lady comes up to her who seems to be dressed rather impressively. "Excuse me! You're a mage, right?" She questions. Gaia nods slowly as she gives a small smile. "Good! I need your help! I'm Elisa Prion, and in a couple hours is my pet party! My pet watcher decided to quit on me last minute, and I'm fearing that the pets will eat all the food while my other guests and I are conducting business and the like. You have a pet I see, I figure you can help me out! I'll even pay you to do it!" She claps her hands before she quickly reaches into her purse and hands an invitation to her. "Remember! Come in a party dress! I'll see you there!" Mrs Prion leaned forward and kissed both of Gaia's cheeks before running off to her husband to tell him the news. Gaia pauses a little, looks down to the blush pink envelope with a gold wax seal with the letter 'P' on it in fancy script, before she opens it to see the contents of it.

"I suppose we're going to a party... Maybe this can help me become better as a mage. I could get a surprise... like my magic unlocks finally." She snorts to the creature before rolling her eyes. "Pipe dream." She mutters to herself before she looks back behind her. Her home was a good distance behind her... maybe she should just buy a new dress and a tote bag and pass it off as something to hold Noya in from time to time to hold her clothes. That didn't sound too bad. It could give her something else to put in her closet so it wasn't so bare... maybe Kyran would like to see her in the dress too? Gaia grins to herself as she actually spies a great store not too far from her. "C'mon Noy. Time to go shopping!" She giggles as she skips forward to go after the store. A half hour later, Gaia comes out of the store wearing a beautiful white dress that went to her knees, had capped sleeves, and had a bateau neckline. She had managed to also get a bow necklace for Noya to wear around her neck, making her look even more adorable to the tarot reader. She stops by a beauty parlor and has them help do her hair and makeup, making her look elegant as they have her hair pinned back with a natural makeup on her face.

Gaia makes her way over to where the party was going to take place, and looks around curiously. The party was taking place in a park with a little square for simple events like job fairs or farmers markets. There was faux grass in the center with various seating areas for all the animals to relax on during the party. Gaia smiles quietly to herself as she looked to Noya around her neck. She managed to get a nice tote bag that matched nicely with her dress, and did store her clothes in it neatly, along with her bag she normally had on her hip and some of Noya's treats. "Oh my! You came!" Mrs Prion cries out the moment she spies Gaia. She had been helping a few decorators set up for the party by saying where things need to go. "I barely noticed who you were till I saw the sweet ferret on your shoulders! You look gorgeous! Please! For a while relax, and enjoy yourself till my guests arrive. I can come and mingle with you after I finish." The woman looks over just as her husband comes back with a sophisticated looking dog on a leash. "Oh! You can watch over Missy Tina for us while you wait! So you're not too bored." Mrs Prion says as she claps her hands.

She gingerly pushes up her glasses and smiles softly to her. "You can count on me! I'll take great care of the animals." She curtsies a bit before Mr. Prion comes over and unhooks their pet and smiles. Gaia crouches down to pet Missy Tina and was immediately growled at. "Well... I'm sorry you're stuck with me while your owners get the party ready..." She grumbles softly. Noya was eying the dog intently. "Noya? Are you going to help me keep the animals from eating the food?" The ferret slid off of Gaia's arm and waltzed over to the grass area. As soon as the ferret was off of her, Missy Tina was starting to act nicer towards Gaia. So it was Noya that made the creature uncomfortable. She'd have to make due with this for now.

As the guests start to show up to the party, Gaia takes a deep breath and greets everyone with a sweet curtsey before she leads the animals over to the pet area. Many different types of animals were showing up. There were a couple dogs, a few cats, an ostrich, a couple huge lizards, snakes, a lion, and a few animals Gaia honestly had no clue what they even were. Gaia looks at all the animals in disbelief. This what these people had as pets?! With a grumble, she shakes her head and looked up when food was brought out on a buffet style table. The owners of the pets instantly were around the table, mingling and laughing with one another.

Gaia noticed that the animals seemed locked onto the table, and instantly goes in front of them to block their view of the food. She smiles as she pushes her glasses up. "You guys can't eat that food. That's not for you." She puts her hands on her hips as Missy Tina growls a little at Gaia for being in their way. Gaia glares down to the dog, and they had a quick stare down/growl off. She quickly manages to skip over to the side and catches the ostrich before it was able to start running after the food, in which it squawked angrily at her. Gaia gasps as she takes a step back before she quickly let up a sharp whistle by putting two fingers to her mouth. Yeah, that briefly distracted the guests, but it stopped the pets in their track for a moment before Noya made her way up front, growling at the animals to back off and go the other way.

At first, the growling Noya was doing didn't seem to be doing much. Missy Tina clearly yipped and skipped to the back of the group to stay as far away from the little ferret as possible. The cats also had hissed at the creature and backed up away, even the lion was seemed scared of her. Gaia was easing back the animals as they had gotten rather close to the table, and she didn't want them to jump without her knowledge. Noya was being helpful and jumping in front of any of the animals that seemed to start to go after the table. Of course that made Gaia proud that her little snowy ferret was 'ferocious' to these bigger animals who really were ferocious compared to her. Not event the cats were smaller than her.

The tarot reader looks back towards the guests, and they were all looking at her, in which Gaia blushes and quickly goes to catch a lizard that was trying to go after the table. She manages to grab it, but as she picked up the giant lizard, it peed below it. One of the other servants there quickly came to clean up the mess as Gaia cleaned up the lizard before putting it on her shoulder. She figured it'd be easier to watch him while it was on her than on the ground. She scooped up the second lizard, and put it on her other shoulder, while she had the snake on her left arm to keep her eyes on it.

Noya was starting to assert her dominance among the strange creatures and ostrich, and the other dogs finally. They were backing up, trying to get away from the growling creature that was only a meter and a half long. "Excuse me? Is there any food for the animals? I believe they'll stop trying to go after the food over there if they had their own food to eat." She calls out to the hosts and guests. The gusts all gasp as they had completely forgotten their food for their animals. Mrs Prion claps her hands quickly and quickly tells the servant what to get for the animals and to get it ASAP as well. A small smile was on her face as she holds her thumb up to Gaia. She was proud that the mage was taking charge as she was over the animals and was smart enough to think of suggest getting food for them too.

It took about a half hour or so, but the servants eventually come back with another buffet table and trays and small cages of various foods for the animals to eat. Gaia and Noya managed to keep the animals back, but Gaia's dress had been torn in the process by one of the cats, and she was pooped and peed on by the reptiles she carried. When the party came to an end, and the owners collected their pets, Mrs Prion came up to Gaia, and frowns. "I'm sorry your dress had been ruined! Here! Send it here and tell them I am doing you a favor so they'll put it on my tab. They'll clean it and fix it no issue. Also... here's some jewels for your troubles. I appreciate it very much for your help..." Mrs. Prion says as she grabs Gaias hands. "Thanks to you, my party went off without a hitch! And the animals seemed rather satisfied, despite being afraid of your cute little ferret. Guess I know what animal to not get next while I have Missy Tina." The woman laughs as she put a bag of jewels in Gaia's hands. Gaia grins to Mrs. Prion. "Thank you for the jewels, it was no problem to help though. It was quite fun! I actually hope to do it again some day. Or at least see the animals again." She giggles and looks to Noya, who jumped into the tote. She didn't want on her masters shoulders with the mess that was on them. Gaia didn't blame her. With a smile, the mage bid the woman and her husband farewell before she took her leave with the jewels she earned for keeping the animals away from the table of food.
