Scare away those thugs? Nah, more like kill 'em all (Naraku and Frederik)[mission]

Another mission, another chance to earn some cash and reputation for her guild. Of course, she was pretending to be a goody two shoes guild, but that didn't mean she couldn't wreck a few buildings and break a few families. She just had to act like it was an accident or she had no choice. Simple enough. The contractor was the owner of restaurant and he wanted some thugs scared off permanently. He'd said to scare them off or make them too scared to attack the town again. A few brutal kills seemed ideal in her eyes. Her partner for this mission was from another guild. Hopefully, someone tough. If not her and her pet Fluffy could handle it. They were tough.

She walked into Hargeon town and through it till she found the restaurant. This was the meeting place, just outside. They'd meet and go inside to find out more details and then go and do the job. It should be simple enough or so she felt. She stroked Fluffy's head who smiled slightly in enjoyment. HE may be a demon, but he was also a wolf and was very dog-like at times. She stood and waited, waiting the arrival of her partner.

"I wonder if we'll have met before." she mused. She'd met people from other guilds and worked with them so it was possible this was a former ally. Of course, it could be someone new that she could slowly corrupt to joining Leviathan. It would take time, but anything was possible. Right now though she didn't care. She just wanted to get this job done. Still, it would be interesting if it was a former ally. There were a few whom she had worked quite well and of course none of them would recognise her. Ever since she gained C rank her physical form had changed dramatically. She was no longer a psychopathic twelve year old. No, she was now a psychopathic 16 year old. Fluffy too had changed he had been some weird serpentine thing last time, but now he was a wolf. Both of them were a lot stronger too. She'd enjoy showing off her new strength to an old ally or even a new person. "Ah well it doesn't matter as long as we get the job done."

Sometimes there was nothing better then doing just an ordinary job especially if the work at the guild was getting to suffocating. Off course the only downside on doing a job as a dark mage was off course that you had no idea who you are working with. So as usual Frederick had to hide who he truly was an from which guild, after all legal mages would probably try to turn him in when they knew who he really was.

But there was probably nothing to worry about, the job he had chosen was nothing more then scaring off some thugs that terrorized a local restaurant. But in Frederick's book scare away was equal to killing them off. He figured it was probably best to not tell the owner or his partner that. Whomever that may be, Frederick hoped that it wasn't someone from a legal guild who he met before. Meeting someone he already knew met for him that it was harder to hide is true intentions. After all, Frederick was an eerie appearance. His face covered safely under the hood of his cloak, which also concealed his entire body.

The restaurant wasn't very hard to find in the busy sea port Hargeon Town, but upon arriving Frederick saw that there was already a girl standing outside waiting next to some wolf like creature.
'Hmm weird, she looks kind of familiar'
Frederick could swear that he had seen the blond teenager before, but he just didn't know from where. Frederick assumed it was probably just his imagination she probably just resembled someone. And if he didn't know who it was not important at all. He decided to slowly approach the girl, she was standing on the agreed upon meeting spot.
'Young girl, are you here for the mission as well?' My name is Lord Frederick, a pleasure to make your acquaintance'

"Hey Frederik. The name's Naraku." she said waiting to see his response. They had indeed met before. He didn't seem too different to her. Then again it hadn't been too long since they had last met. Naraku had changed a lot, but that wasn't a natural ageing process. No, it was a result of unlocking more magical power. However, she could not explain this change. Her memories were tangled with others that did not seem to make sense. "And yep i'm here for the misson. Sounds like an easy enough task." Naraku stretched and then turned knocking on the door to the restaurant. It was opened by a small, portly man with a large moustache and a long beard.

"Yes?" the man asked looking at the two of them. Naraku smiled at the man who was clearly a chef dressed in white and with a white chef hat. Yes, a chef who looked like he enjoyed a good meal as well. Judging by the restaurant and the man he really wasn't doing well. No wonder he needed help with the bandits.

"Hey there I'm Naraku of Silver Whale and this is my partner Frederik. We're here to drive off some thugs for ya." she said with an overly cheerful tone of voice. Yep, she was very cheerful. A mission where she could go all out to an extent was a dream come true. Yes, many would lose their lives today. "I know you asked for about six, but between us two and Fluffy we should be more than enough." Fluffy nodded in agreement. In truth, the two felt they would be enough without Frederik, but a powerful ally would make this a lot easier. She knew Frederik was capable of a lot. She had seen him in action against some pretty strong vulcans. He felt a lot stronger than he had been that time. "So when can we expect these thugs and how many we looking at?"

"Well, if you think you three are enough...." the chef said thinking it over. There was doubt in his voice, but who was he to doubt mages. "They normally come about noon, so...about an hour. As for numbers i'm not sure. Only a few normally come, but I think if you start fighting against them more will turn up." Naraku nodded. That sounded about right. She lifted up Fluffy and with little effort flew onto the roof.

"We'll surprise attack them from here." she said and sat down with Fluffy to wait for the arrival of these thugs.

"Hey Frederik. The name's Naraku." This line kept popping in Frederick's head the entire time during their meeting with the client. And while Naraku introduced herself and Frederick to the owner of the restaurant. Frederick's mind was deep in though, 'Naraku...naraku.. I have only met one girl who had that name around a year ago I think. And she was nothing more then a little girl' Frederick's mind tried to put an logical explanation on this weird coincidence. In Fiore there were probably other girls who had the same name so there would be an obvious chance that this girl was different from the other one, but the thing was that this Naraku and the small preteen one he met a year ago looked very much alike.

"We'll surprise attack them from here." Frederick woke up from his thoughts and noticed that Naraku and her so called pet Fluffly were on the roof. Figuring it was better to wait for asking Naraku about herself. He nodded towards her the show that he agreed with her plan, and climbed his way onto the roof until he stood next to her.
There they waited for about an hour till three bandits showed up, just as the owner said. Only a few showed up at first. The bandits were kinda aggressive and starting ramming on the door with their fist. "EEY! we're here to collect your protection fee!! OPEN UP!! YOU OLD BASTARD!'
Apparently the bandits were to busy to notice the two mages on the roof glaring down upon them. 'Tsk, those are bandits for you. Too dumb and ignorant to even notice the slightest possible threat. Miss Naraku the honor is yours' said Frederick with a low voice

'Monster Dice' :

A small group of approximately five thugs had appeared with one tougher looking man in armor wielding a spear. The thugs wielding an assortment of crude weapons. None of them looked particularly threatening and she merely rose to her feet and held out her palm towards them. "Sorry boys, but this place is under our protection now so bugger off or be torn to pieces." They did not even rank as insects to her and so she would not deal with them if they did not head her warning.

The men looked up at her and laughed. It was as if they did not see her as a threat. She sighed deeply and then looked at Fluffy and nodded. The wolf leapt from the rooftop and as he did he howled changing form to become 13ft tall and 26ft long. A truly impressive size and one which you didn't want dropping down on you swinging claws. The thugs however were not to be taking down so easily. To her surprise they countered very well. Well, some of them did. They all raised their weapons to act as a spike platform, but only three (two thugs and the bodguard) were quick enough. Fluffy's own leap had done more damage to him then their attacks would of alone. However, he was not down yet and with a sweep of his claws he killed two of the thugs. The others either dodged or managed to block the blows. The two who blocked though, they lost their weapons. The armored man was out of range of the attack due to Fluffy leaping back off the weapons to avoid greater harm.

"You hurt Fluffy." Naraku said with a slight snarl to her voice and glided down. They would pay for that. She did not like to see members of her family hurt and Fluffy was the one she was closest too. Well, except maybe the guild master. However, she allowed him to attack first because he had said earlier he was hungry and he did so enjoy human flesh. They had hurt him though. "Nobody hurts Fluffy."

The men were in disarray, they didn't expect that a creature called Fluffy would attack them so ferociously. But the assailants managed to hold off the wolf like creature and even hurt it a little, Naraku on the other hand appeared to didn't like the fact that hey managed to hurt her pet, and was infuriated.
'Nobody hurts Fluffy!'
This was not good, she seemed very angry right now. And Frederick didn't what she was capable of yet, but looking at how her pet killed off two men already he kind off knew where this was going. Surely letting her kill these five thugs would be easier, but it also mend that it would take some time for the other bandits to notice that they were gone. No Frederick preferred that one of them stayed alive and warn the others, so that he didn't had to wait that long.

Frederick's aura became dark and ten transparent tentacle like beams soared up behind him, and dashed towards two of the assailants. The bandits were not that stupid and noticed Frederick calling up his Thorns of Demise, and so were prepared for the attack. The managed to evade some of the tentacle that dashed towards them but not all. Each of the two targets was hit by two tentacles, phasing right through them or wrapping around their body. The other tentacle that missed went up again and ominously moved around Frederick's back. Ready to strike at any potential target that would appear.

The mage looked upon the two men that were now attached to the Thorn of Demise's tentacles, and could't help but smile. At the moment they were hit by black tentacle their life force was being drained while feeding Frederick with it, making it so that Frederick's magical power would be replenished.
'Tsk, it's a shame that you were not mages, they have so much more energy to share'
The remaining thug who had seen his comrades fell before his eyes ran off, probably scared to death. He knew that he alone was no match for the two mages and Fluffy. Probably going back to their hide out and gather his comrades.

Naraku glared up at Frederik as he took away her sport and vengeance. However, she saw the wisdom in his method. Leaving one alive to bring in the others was ideal. Plus now they knew what they were facing it was likely that more would come at once. They could end this very quickly with a bit of luck. The wolf sniffed the air and she did too.

"I smell Scum." The two said in unison. A rare occurence, but not unheard of. The two had been working together for a long time. It was true and soon a larger group came back. Three were of the armored variety, six were thugs including the one who had ran away. Two of them however seemed a lot more interesting. They wore complex clothing and each wielded an elaborate staff fitted with a lacrima. Mages for certain. It seemed that Frederik would get his wish and be able to use his magic to feast on some mages energy. She wondered how he did that and if it was possible to do with her own magic. She would have to ask him.

Fluffy began to growl. He was ready to pounce, but before he moved Naraku reached into his mouth and like a conjurers trick pulled out Ripper, her demonic scythe, and her favourite weapon. Her current attire didn't really suit it, but it would do for now. She made a mental note to purchase some alternate clothing to change into for fear based missions such as these. She needed to look fearsome rather than, as some had called her, alluring. "I'll leave the mages to you as you want to eat their magic." Naraku said to Frederik. "Leave the rest to me and Fluffy." A small bird-like creature flew about above the group. It did not seem to be wanting to attack. It was merely observing. A spy of some kind then. "And we'll leave the bird alive just incase there are more."

Naraku observed her targets. The armored ones once again wielded spears. The thugs however had seemingly come with slightly better weapons. They were still rather crude, but most of them now had actual sharpened metal on them rather than sharpened sticks or clubs with nails in them.

'Monster Dice' :

Frederick nodded as a reply to Naraku, he found it quite generous of her that he alone could feast on the mages. Not so much because he was hungry, but whenever he activated this spell the Thorns of Demise. He developed some sort of need to drain the life force of others, it was not like a hungry feeling. But more like a sensation.
'Allright, but try not to get caught when the tentacles dash forwards. Because once I catch something in it.. I won't let go.'

Frederick focussed on the enemies again, and just in time. One of the enemy mages had aimed his staff at him and shot a fireball straight at him. But it was an sloppy attack and Frederick easily hit it out of the air with a swipe of one of the tentacles. In the meanwhile of defending against that attack, Frederick had six other tentacles retract all the way back in to the dark aura, and lash them forwards at the enemy. Hoping to knock the enemy over or smashing them with force against a wall.
But the enemy mages had predicted his attack and evaded the sudden dash of his tentacle, unfortunately for them this was just a distraction. Immediately after the the attack the six tentacle were joined by the remaining four and went now straight for the enemy. And with success, the tentacles wrapped around the bodies and lifted them in the air. So that they were dangling in front of Frederick without any means to escape.
'Aaah... Splendid. This was the nourishment I longed for.' Other couldn't see it but Frederick showed a satisfied face under his when he drained the life force from the victims bodies that already started to replenish his magical power.

After the fight Frederick dropped the bodies of the mages on the ground and retracted the tentacles, making him besides his dark aura less ominous. Frederick self however felt refreshed and energized but still, he felt the need to feed. And there were no other victims around. He could always attack the remaining thugs, but those were for Naraku and her put Fluffy. And it was impolite to steal her own kill especially after she was so generous to let him have the two mages.
But then it hit him, Frederick felt there was something off about the girl. He couldn't believe he was so blind, the girl said said she was from a legal guild. But that was a legal guild, and no mage from such a guild would be unaffected by such a display. And besides the girl and her pet were enjoying them selves when the killed off the other bandits.

Frederick pulled back his hood and looked at the Naraku with an empty but gluttonous look. 'Say girl... what guild did you say you are from again...'

"Silver Whale." Naraku replied not even blinking an eye as he drained the life and magic energy from the two mages. Death was something she was used to. She had fought many enemies in her time. None survived if she had her way. She had nine opponents, only three of whom she saw as a threat. With a slight grin on her face, despite her anger, she slipped a hand into her cleavage and as it emerged a black tendril of shadow shot out that was approximately 20ft long. It struck out through the group aiming to hit one of the armored knights at the back. The true deadliness of this technique was not in the single tendril. No, it was in what emerged from the tendril. Nine others of equal length emerged and stabbed out at the men. Fluffy merely stood slightly over ready to attack any who came close. She made no effort to defend herself.

The men were much better then she expected and only a single one fell to her tendrils. The others all managed to block or dodge and charged in for an attack. As the tendrils had failed she retracted them for now. They were not gone, merely waiting to be used again. The enemies drew in close aiming to slice at her, but Fluffy with his claws was waiting. He batted away a majority of their attacks and so only two succeeded in hitting her, but these were from the thugs so did little to her that she wasn't used to. One of them in his desire to end her, and hoping that would drive away the wolf, was reckless with his attack and stabbed through one of his allies to try and get her. It did not succeed and all he did was kill an ally. Two down.

Now that the enemies had come in close however they were once again at Fluffy's mercy and with two strikes from each of his front paws he reduced their number by a further two. Now all that were two thugs and the three armored men. Five to go.

"You really shouldn't of hurt Fluffy." she said with a dark smile of anger. She was still lying about her guild allegiances, but her anger was showing her true nature. "I was hired to just scare you away, but now I think I might just have to break all of you."

Now he was sure of it, this girl was definitely not from a legal guild what so ever. She just lied to him with a straight face while not even looking at the dead bodies. As if it was the most normal thing to have around in your daily life.
As Frederick watched her wreaking havoc among their enemies his thoughts wandered and he got frustrated. If Naraku truly was a dark mage then how was it possible that he didn't know about. He was the Keeper of the dark guild Savage Skull, if he was on a job with another dark mage from another dark guild, he should know about it. But this was not the case and that was what worried him. If she was from from a dark guild, it meant that he not knew about. Which in turn meant that there was a dark guild out there that wasn't part of the Oblivion Alliance.

A dark guild that wasn't part of the Alliance, it was something Frederick never heard of. Most guilds joined the Oblivion Alliance out of fear of personal gain, and if you didn't want to be a part of it. The Alliance make damn sure they would annex your guild into it.
Frederick glared at Naraku as she fought the several bandits on her own. He didn't like this at all, not one bit. 'Tsk this all means that there is a guild out there that managed to evade the watchful eyes of the current power house of dark mages. And if the average mage in that guild is as strong as this girl, it is something to be feared'

Frederick wanted to interrogate the girl, but that was probably not the smartest thing to do, especially if you didn't know who or what could retaliate. No for now he had to play along and ask her later about her true intentions and where she was from. Even though Frederick assumed that Naraku already knew that he suspected her. He had to tread careful, not only with the enemy at hand but the potential thread that he just had come to realize.

The enemies were close now and Naraku was forced to defend. She grinned darkly then with out even making a gesture the tendrils shot out again. A good offense was the best defense in her opiion. Two fell to her tendrils, reducing the number of enemies greatly. The others however were less successful. These opponents were far more skilled then she had given them credit for. She'd have to elevate them from trash to scum in her mind. She had her scythe, but did not use it for defense for one reason or ten if you're mind worked that way. The tendrils were just as useful for defense as for attacking. Quickly retracting them she defended against the attacks, but two managed to get through. A spear jabbed her on the arm and a knife slice her stomach slightly. It was not enough to stop her though and Fluffy in his fury swung out and killed another. One armored man was down and another two thugs. The blood running down her arm and stomach stained her white clothes red, but that just added to the fierceness of her appearence. Now she looked more like a killer.

It seemed though that the toucan had done exactly as Naraku had thought it would. It had flown off and come back bringing with it another four armored bodyguards and five more thugs. Nine more opponents. These however had not hurt Fluffy so Naraku wouldn't keep them to herself. "Enjoy yourself Freddie." she said with a gesture of her hand. She herself currently only had three opponents and she had Fluffy with her so she needed no help. Then again. She needed no help from Fluffy either. "Fluffy if you're still hungry go attack the newbies."

The wolf nodded and leapt towards the opponents with a loud snarl. He was going to have a lot of fun, if Frederik didn't kill them all first. Then again, the armored ones would likely take a few moments to kill so Fluffy should at least get some fun regardless of how quickly Frederik destroyed them. Oh how he was looking forward to the taste of flesh again.

But there was no more room for Frederick to think about Naraku's guild allegiance, because more enemies appeared. Four more armored bodyguards and five thugs. 'Tsk they just keep popping up' smirked Frederick. This was getting annoying for him, it appeared to be that this job would take a little whole longer then he original thought. And Frederick really didn't want to go all out on a simple job like this, but considering the enemy kept coming it was maybe better to do that any way. He retracted his tentacles back into his own dark aura and dispelled the Thorns of Demise, whom in return slowly faded away. It was time to use a more destructive kind of magic.

'Dark Chasm!'
Frederick spread his arms wide and twenty black pentacles appeared rapidly as a wall behind him. From which just as his dark void magical pillars of black light were shot at the enemy. Only this time not from above, but from straight in front of them. The dark beams came crashing into the enemy and all together they exploded giving off a blinding black kind of light. When the light faded and the sight of where his Dark Chasm hit became visible again he saw that his spell had the impact he wanted it to be. Five of the thugs were obliterated in the destructive force, and left nothing more then smoldering corpses from which a dark magical residue came off. The armored body guards however had enough armored plating to withstand most of the attack.
Nothing to worry about really, Naraku and her pet could take care of those, the only thing was that Frederick grew tired of waiting here the entire time.
'Say Naraku, leave on of those thugs alive. And interrogate him so that we can know their hideout is located. And bring the fight to them?'

Of the six thugs that stood standing before his assault only a single one remained. As for the armoured men only one of them was taken out. Such a shame more hadn't fallen. She listened to the words of Frederik and had to agree. It would speed up the mission no end if they took the battle to them. However, there was no need to leave one of them alive. Her sense of smell and especially that of Fluffy' would be more than enough to track that toucan king or the smell of these bandits, which wasn't exactly pleasant. However, the thought of torturing information out of one of these was definitely pleasing to her. The thugs were obviously the cowards whilst the armoured men were brave. If she was sensible then the one to keep alive would be the thug. However, it seemed much more fun to her to break the armoured one's spirit. Her tendrils would not last much longer, but she did not need them to.

The armoured men were highly skilled and the thug was not. He fell to a single strike through the head from a tendril. The six armoured men used their spears to repel a majority of the tendrils, but one of them struck the man. It killed him instantly. The remaining men charged in swinging their spears with skill and precision, but Naraku's tendrils were more than capable of blocking their strikes. Two of them got through, but that did not matter to her. She'd suffered worse pain.

Fluffy of course was also a threat to them and with little coaxing he tore through two of them like a hot knife through butter. Of course, this was because they had been focused so much on Naraku that they hadn't had a chance to block. Yes, they had been the ones who actually struck Naraku. The other remaining men managed to defend themselves well enough and only received very minor cuts. Fluffy growled in anger. He wanted to rip them apart, but he knew Naraku would enjoy torturing one for information so he would keep one alive.

Naraku lowed her arms as the tendrils faded into non-existence. It was such a useful technique, but it didn't last that long. No, it didn't last that long at all. But it often lasted just long enough to get the job done.

Three armored body guards were left standing after the devastating of Naraku, for Frederick this was quite impressive and bothersome at the same time. Clearly they had underestimated their enemy a little. But it was nothing to be concerned about. They were still nothing more then a small nuisance, another hindrance on their job.
Frederick jumped down from the roof, were he was still standing the entire time and grabbed up a sword from the ground. While holding it in his hand Frederick observed the poorly crafted blade. These thugs probably didn't know hot to maintain their own weaponry. 'I guess this has to suffice' mumbled Frederick and looked over towards the three guards. 'Hmm one needs to stay alive huh'

Suddenly Frederick dispersed into nothing and were he was standing only a black mist was lingering, only to reappear out of a black misty cloud behind the armored guards. And before they even knew what was going on Frederick had already thrusted the poorly made sword into one of the guards necks. Deep enough that the tip of the blade came out the other side of his throat. Rapidly he pulled it back out and turned around while swinging the sword toward another guard. Hitting him right in the in a lower and unprotected part between his plates of armor. The attack was fast and nimble, not something Frederick used very often. He preferred his magic instead of direct melee combat like this, but he didn't got all day and he needed this job to be over quickly. So a surprise attack appeared to be the most fitting for these circumstances.
'Now there is only one' The remaining body guard was now surrounded by Naraku and Fluffy on the other side and Frederick behind him. With no where to escape.
'Say Naraku, I assume you can get this man speak. I somehow feel that this kind of thing is right up in your alley'
His voice sounded eerie as Frederick stepped over the two dead bodies of the guards.

Naraku smiled as she was offered the chance of making this man 'talk'. Well, if he wouldn't talk she'd make him squawk. "Hell Demon's Whip." she said and from her arm formed a long tendril of shadow. It was 20ft in length. Even if he tried to run she would be able to grab him. However, it seemed the man was to scared to even try to run or fight for his life. He would be easy to break. With a gesture of her whip arm the tendril shot out towards him. She did not aim to whip him. No, that would be too easy. Instead the tendril wrapped around him and as it did it began to burn him. It was only enough to leave first degree burns. However, it was a constant burning sensation.

"Right now i'm being nice." she said with a dark tone of voice. "If you don't tell us what we need to know then I won't be so nice." The man looked at her in pain. He had seen what she could do and he was feeling the pain of her 'being nice'. He did not want to feel the pain of her 'not being nice'. "It seems you understand. Now tell me where your gang are hiding?" The man was being silent. Naraku sighed deeply and walked nodded to Fluffy who backhanded the man to the head. It was a light blow from the giant wolf, but enough to cause some serious pain. "Answer the question." The man's face was heavily bruised from the single blow, and the burns on his flesh were probably hurting him quite a bit. However, Naraku really was just being nice at the moment as her next statement demonstrated. "Right now the whip is on your armor so the burning sensation is quite weak. I won't hesitate to remove it and place it on somewhere that will cause you more pain." she grinned evily pointing down at his crotch area. "Or use a technique that will cause you even more immense pain."


"FINE FINE!" the man shouted looking at her face. It was strange look for a girl who by most standards was quite beautiful. She really was an evil woman. "If you go north-east of town you'll come to a forest. We have a base there for intercepting the trains. Now let me go!" Naraku just grinned and nodded to Fluffy who walked over and bit the man's head off.

"I never said i'd let you live." she said darkly allowing Fluffy to eat the rest of the man as she retracted the whip. "He was telling the truth by his scent...so let's go show them the error of their ways."
