Flower Shower (job w/ Kyran)

"The cards are being vague today, Noya..." Gaia groans as she stuffs the tarot cards of hers back into their tarot bag. She grumbles as she runs her hand through her short black hair. Life had been a bit dull to the tarot reader after she came back from her haunted job with Masha. She kinda got Gaia thinking a bit with a few of her questions before their job. 'Handsome stranger'... Gaia's face instantly burnt red as she softly whines to herself. "Behave yourself Gaia! Ugh!" She pauses in her silent yelling over her thoughts of a certain redhead when she hears babbling from across the room of the café she was sitting in.

"You hear about what's happening in Rose Garden? There's cherry blossoms appearing around there! It's beautiful! Romantic! Oh! I wish a guy would take me there to see the pretty flowers and propose to me there!" A girl cries to her friends around the table. Her friends started grumbling about the same thing.

Gaia blinks, looks down to her cards, and then smirks a little. "Cards? Tell me about a certain situation with him, would you?" She murmurs as she reaches into the deck and pulls out a single card. She takes a deep breath before she flips it and finds that the card was The Lovers. Her face goes red again and she whines to herself once more before Noya growls at her for being too noisy. Gaia then softly laughs as she lowers her head to the table. "Sorry Noy... Think he'd accept going with me to Rose Garden? I feel I may need to have more of a reason than to just hang out with him." She murmurs as she quickly grabs a paper. She quickly scribbles on the paper, smiling to herself. She hoped it would be incentive enough for him to want to join her.


Noya had decided to put her paw print on the paper right next to Gaia's signature, so Gaia had decided to sign for her little ferret since she had the urge to include herself in the letter. Rereading over the letter a good few times pleased Gaia as she quickly mailed it. "I hope he'll come." She murmurs before mailing off the letter.

Gaia soon arrived at Rose Garden and was looking around at all the cherry blossoms about the place. It was a beautiful sight to see. For this one time, Gaia had decided to not wear her usual attire, leaving her cloak at home. Instead, she wore a purple keyhole sweater, her green miniskirt, and her boots. On her hip was her little bag she uses to hold her tarot cards and any other little goodies, like her own notebook and pencils. Gaia had even decided to put on a little bit of makeup this go round too. She had on lipgloss, and light blush on her cheeks, but she doubted it would do much as she figured Kyran would try to do, or say something to get her blushing worse than her blush. Noya was resting on her masters shoulders, in her usual spot between her neck and the sweater collar, as Gaia waited for Kyran to appear. Gaia was fiddling with her fingers as she lightly nibbled on her bottom lip, wondering where Kyran was. Her brown eyes flashed into Rose Garden, watching the flowers fall calmly onto the ground.

If there was one plus about this for the city, there was now jobs for people to try to keep the streets clean of the petals. She smiles softly at the scene before her, enjoying how calm this was. Better than her jobs she had been going on as of late.

Kyran was working in the gym when the note came for him. He set aside the dumbbells, cracking the pavement. His hands were wiped on a towel before he took the note. Ahriman's visage faded as he read through it. A small smile crossed his face. Kyran hadn't expected to see Gaia again but he had picked up two more books from the Dark Phoenix series. He had been about to send them to the bespeckled mage. This seemed like a better and more fun way. Kyran hurried to the shower to clean off. He wanted to look his best for Gaia. Why he wasn't sure but Malinda was laughing in his ear the entire time he was getting ready.  

The entire boat ride was spent fussing with his appearance. Kyran also had no idea what to say to Gaia when he finally got to speak to her. Would she be happy to see him? Probably not but he could always hope. Kyran readjusted the straps on his weapons four or five times before being content with their positioning. A few of the women kept glancing his way. Kyran was sure they were only making sure he stayed well away from him. A white suit wouldn't make a monster look any more like a man.

It was a beautiful sight to behold as he gazed upon the tree that was spreading cherry blossoms. Yet the sight that held Kyran's gaze was that of Gaia. He took a moment to admire her from behind. Her outfit was quite nice. If Noya noticed him approaching, Kyran put a finger to his lips. He had bought a little meat for Noya on the way here. If Noya allowed him to approach silently, Kyran put his mouth near Gaia's ear and said "My my what a lovely sight we have here. A beautiful flower outshining a tree." He straightened to avoid getting hit. If Noya didn't let him approach silently, Kyran flashed Gaia a grin, saying "Shoot I wanted to make you jump. I guess Noya isn't getting these treats now."

Kyran reached into the bag at his side and held out the next book in the Dark Phoenix series. "I hope you didn't get this one already. It's the next book in the Dark Phoenix series. Another signed first edition." Kyran smiled slowly. He was happy to have someone to give the first editions to. They were sitting in boxes in his quarters at the guild, fifty of each book. He had debated giving one to Ada but he wasn't sure how the dragon slayer would take that gift. "So how does one hang out? I've heard the term before but it's always puzzled me. Or shall we try reviving your muse? What kind of thing inspires you?" Kyran was kinda babbling excited to finally know what hanging out was. Gaia didn't know how happy it made him to finally be able to do it.

Before he forgot, Kyran held out the bag of treats to Gaia. "For Noya. I wanted her to have something to snack on while we talked. I wasn't sure what else to get the little ferret." Kyran waited for Gaia to take the bag. Then he stepped closer to Gaia, a treat in his hand. He held it out for the ferret. "I wouldn't forget about my favorite rodent. I didn't know to grab a present for you last time, but I vow Noya, I'll always try to remember to bring something for you too." Kyran kept his eyes on the ferret. He wanted Noya to like him but wasn't sure how to tell if she did. He was determined to win the affection of this animal. Maybe that of her owner too. He glanced at Gaia, a blush spreading across his cheeks as he noticed how close they were. The blush grew when he realized there was a desire to get even closer. What was happening to him?

Gaia seemed to be lost in awe of the town as Noya lifted her head up. She sniffed the air, smelling the meat. She seemed to tense a little as she wanted the meat from him, but wasn't sure what to do. The little creature was a bit used to him by now, and didn't see him as much of a threat at the moment. When he came close to Gaia, she tensed more and was ready to go up on his shoulders to get the meat from him herself. Gaia had leapt out of her skin when she heard Kyran's voice, blushing madly to his words. "K-Kyran! You came!" Her blush deepened and she softly giggled as she scratched the back of her head. She seemed to be relieved that he had come, and Noya seemed to be excited now for something, sending him chirps and purrs, as if she was begging for something. "You spoiled little creature... stop it..." She murmurs to the white ferret.

She looks up as she realized Kyran was reaching into his bag, and pulled out another book. "Kyran! Oh! You didn't have to get me another book!" She covers her face with her hand as she was smiling rather wide. She was rather excited to have another signed first edition of a book, it made her feel a bit special. "Thank you! I didn't get anymore of the series. They seem to always be out of stock when I try to get them! But I did manage to get my hands on Anon's newest book. It's surprisingly familiar in the beginning." She snickers to Kyran, figuring he gave Anon an idea after their last job together. She was about to open it up to see if there was another scribble in the book like the other three when Kyran asked about how one hangs out. She giggles a bit to him and slips the book into her bag. "You just... hang out! Enjoy one anothers company, talk, do activities together..." She blushes as she scratches the back of her head. "A date is similar though... but there's more affection involved..." She felt she had to clarify that to him a bit.

Her interests? She taps her bottom lip a bit as she glances to Noya, then remembered she was wearing lipgloss and stopped to reach for the container to reapply it. She grabs the bag of treats, and smiles to Kyran. "Aw! That was sweet of you to get Noya something. She sure is being spoiled." Noya quickly perks her head and goes to take the treat right from Kyran's hand and seemed to hold his hand with both of her paws, licking his hand clean as she did so. "Noya... let him go..." She blushes and laughs softly. Noya quickly jumped up his arm and was in search of more than what he gave Gaia. "Noy!" She cries out and quickly goes to grab the ferret, but she found herself in Kyran's chest as she managed to grab the ferret off of his shoulder. "S-sorry!" She blushes and takes a step back. she had a small smile on her face as she looks up to him. "Hey Kyran? Do you-"

"The cherry blossoms are starting to pile up!" Someone screamed from behind them. Sure enough, behind Kyran, the petals of the cherry blossoms was at least knee high already. Gaia grabs Kyran's arm and pulls him away from the forming wall of flower petals, completely confused about this. The petals had just been slowly falling a moment ago. How did they suddenly start piling up already? A woman comes running from the other direction to a man not too far from the couple. "Charles! The flowers are blocking the other exits! We're bing trapped in by the cherry blossom petals!" Gaia seemed a bit confused about this.

Gaia then looks to Kyran. "I feel we should find out why they're starting to fall down faster..." She frowns to the petals as they were getting higher by the minute. The tarot reader turns to start going towards the trees, wanting to figure out what was causing this. Though, the moment she stepped upon a patch of petals, she let out a scream and fell back on her butt, whining as the petals were floating down to the ground on her legs from her fall. She hoped Kyran hadn't been watching... or that her skirt didn't fly up...

Kyran was happily surprised by Gaia's reaction to his appearance. He'd never had anyone blush when he showed up before. He was a little confused by her scratching the back of her head. His confusion increased when she made an obvious statement. Malinda tsked at his lack of understanding. Kyran barely managed to keep a scowl off his face. He didn't want to ruin their 'hanging out' right from the start. "Of course I came, Gaia. Why wouldn't I? I wanted to see you again." He beamed, looking around at the falling petals. It was a nice backdrop but for what? "Is this a thing friends do? Can we be friends?" Kyran got really excited as he grabbed both of Gaia's hands. This would bring his total friends up to three. That was the most Kyran had ever had in his life. He released her hands to try and grab a treat for Noya. "Don't be angry at her. I promised her treats to let me sneak up on you."

Kyran was a little confused by the contrast in Gaia's reaction to the book and her words about it. Perhaps he was just a little slow today. "It's my pleasure to give these to you... I like giving out gifts to others." Kyran said slowly. When she continued, Kyran let out a sigh of relief. That was why she had said what she did. She must think that he spent a lot of money or asked the author for this special favor. Which in a way was true. Kyran smiled widely at Gaia, his joy glimmering in his eyes. The note he had written in the book praised her devotion for Noya. Of course Gaia would think it came from Anon... Kyran turned his mind away from those thoughts as Gaia began to explain hanging out. He blinked when she added the unnecessary information about dates. Had he missed something? Was this actually a date? Kyran shifted uncomfortably unsure of what to do with himself. Was he ready to date? And if so, did he want to date Gaia?

The answers to those questions would have to wait. Noya was licking his hand. Kyran giggled softly, her tongue tickling his fingers. His smile grew wider as the ferret jumped onto his shoulder. When Gaia stepped into his chest to grab the ferret, Kyran stopped breathing. An instinctive reaction had his arm curling about the other mage's waist. His hand slid from Gaia's back to her hip when she stepped away. Only then did breath return to Kyran's lungs. Malinda snickered in the back of his mind. Medea licked her paw scornfully. Erebus laughed deeply while Ahriman growled, doing his usual prowling. Kyran wasn't sure what had just happened but the brief intimate contact with Gaia had agitated the demons. His eyes seemed glued to Gaia's lips.

He nearly lost it when that precious moment was lost due to someone shouting. He allowed Gaia to drag him by the arm. Why was that always happening to him? Everyone loved to pull on his arm. When Gaia said they should help, Kyran nodded slightly. Might as well help so they could get back to their hanging out...or was it a date? He followed close behind when Gaia headed for the tree. So when she slipped, Kyran saw everything even as he caught her. He wasn't sure what to do. Her skirt was bunched around his stomach, her butt pressed against his growing issue. Kyran blushed hard, his mind scrambling for something to say. "Gaia, I don't know what to do. Do I say 'Nice panties' or do I say 'That butt is fine' or do I not say anything? I've never been in this situation before..." Kyran's blush deepened with every word. He was becoming more aware of Gaia as he was holding her against him. Kyran hurriedly released her if she tried to get away from him but otherwise kept her close. He liked this feeling. it was warm. That wasn't something he had often felt. Now if his issue would soften, he could stop blushing so hard.

The mage's face lightly lit up as Kyran said he wanted to see her again, and she put a hand to her cheek as she admired him a bit. When he grabbed her hands, Gaia was stunned, but more so by his words. Her blushing stopped as her jaw hung slack. For a moment she looked sad, but she quickly shook her head and gave him a small smile. "I thought we were friends. I don't think many acquaintances would give gifts to one another..." She seemed to bite her tongue a little. As he explained he promised a treat to Noya, she softly chuckles and rolls her eyes. "Of course, as long as you pose no threat to me... she'll mooch food off of anyone." She couldn't help but mutter. She gingerly removed her hands from Kyran, looking down as she was trying to keep her composure.

She looks back up and grins to Kyran again, acting as if she didn't want to cry just then. His smile though, made her feel a little warmer and she giggled slightly to him. She looks in the book, smiling at the note as she hugged the book to her gingerly. "You have to tell Anon thank you for me, and that I really enjoyed his most recent book." She muses before she had put the book away. Gaia blushed rather deeply once again when Kyran held her to him a bit before she backed away. She had a light pout on her lips as she was still a bit upset from his words before, but she had smiled quietly to herself a moment after. She was now feeling challenged to try to do something.

When she had slipped, her face went extremely red as she fell against him and felt something behind her. She was a bit glad that her skirt was long enough to hide herself as she was pressed against him. Gaia was about to apologize to him when he spoke. His words only made her face redden as she couldn't help but giggle a bit to him over how he said it, and his face getting redder. "N-normally people ask if the other is alright..." She then glances around, and gingerly pressed her hands on his that held her to him but didn't really make a move to remove them too quickly. "P-people might get the wrong idea and think we're dating..." She frowned as she glances away from him to fix her skirt on one side. "B-but others might also think you're a perv-" She was cut off as she looked up and sees three short people up above on some buildings.

Gaia quickly removed herself as she sees the short thing throwing cherry blossoms at her and Kyran. "Eep!" She cries out as she quickly skips to the side while fixing her skirt to make sure her panties weren't showing out in the open. One of the minions came jumping off the building to go right after Gaia. She gasps as she skips to the side a couple more steps, but seems to freeze mid second skip. As she landed on her feet again, looking stunned for a moment, as if she was listening to something. While quickly shaking her head, she quickly reaches into her bag with one hand, frantically searching for something in there.

As soon as her hand grasped something, she starts yanking out a wooden pole from her small bag. The small minion froze in its chasing her as soon as he saw her pulling something large out of her bag. She seemed to struggle a little as she pulled the last bit out, and smiles softly to herself. "So you guys do have magic in you to briefly talk to me... and give me yet another gift... but not letting me unlock your stupid powers... You cards are absolutely terrible!" She growls and shakes her bag with her free hand for a moment while her other hand held onto a leafy looking staff that seemed to have a blade on the top of it. She looks at it and takes a deep breath. Her demeanor seemed to slightly change as she looked at it.

Gripping the handle hard, she seemed to found her resolve and glances over to the minion. The little minion seemed a bit scared now that Gaia had a weapon to attack back with. He growls, trying to hide his scared self, and quickly goes to attack her. Gaia lets up a growl and quickly grabs the staff with both hands before she throws herself at the minion while swinging her staff. The minion lay on the ground after she finished swinging her staff, and she looks over to the side, noticing four plant people dancing about.

They were really elegant, and Gaia giggles quietly as she enjoyed their dancing. Maybe she should join them a bit. She starts going towards them, feeling the beat of their music before she let her feet take her away. As soon as she danced close to them though, they started to attack her, but she used her staff to block the attacks while side stepping as easily as they do. "Dancers, its a shame we can step quickly, huh?" She couldn't help but question the plant people before she let herself get in close and was able to strike a couple down. Noya was growling on Gaia's shoulders before she quickly jumps off and onto one of the flowers, biting them to slow them down, giving Gaia the ability to hit them with her staff before she skips out of the way of another petal dancer.

"Noya! Get out of here, or back onto my shoulders! I can't have you hurt again!" She cries as she notices her little ferret running off again. Clearly the little ferret thought something else was more important and had to go run off again, per the usual with her. She was almost hit by the petal dancer with her being distracted over her pet, but only got scratched on her cheek as she was able to quickly skip back a couple steps, closer to Kyran's direction. She looks over to where they had been a bit before, and noticed that the blockade got bigger already! Now she was glad she had pulled Kyran away from it before, he might of been buried alive by the petals if she hadn't.

Gaia's words brought an odd look to Kyran's face. "I have more money than I know what to do with so I would give gifts to anyone I know well enough." He pulled out another treat to feed Noya. "I am glad we're friends though. Brings my total up to three in my entire lifetime." He beamed at her, his expression radiating joy.

Kyran tried not to let his pleasure at her words show. He was glad she had liked his last book. More than a few complaints had rolled in from the sudden change in material. His publishers weren't happy but they realized his brand would sell enough copies to make it worth while. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wasn't sure what would happen when the book was first pitched. It was a drastic change from the Dark Phoenix books. More than a few hate mail letters have already come in. I've burned them before uh handing them to Anon. He doesn't need that kind of negativity." That wasn't strictly true. He had burned them after reading them so they didn't pollute his writing. Trying to keep this secret was difficult. He hoped it would prove to be worth it.

His thoughts were erratic as Gaia moved against him. Kyran tried to think what a character from his books would do in this situation. Especially since it didn't seem like Gaia wanted him to move away. His hand splayed across her stomach pressing her more firmly against him. His lips grazed her ear as he spoke in her ear. "Would it be so bad if people thought we were dating? I happen to like you quite a lot as you can probably feel." His voice was low, husky with desire. Kyran moved his hips just enough to make his attraction to her a little more obvious. His lips pressed against the usual sweet spot just below the ear. His chuckle at her next sentence was cut off when she spun away.

Ahriman was eagerly reaching for Kyran, feeling the violence roiling in his host's chest. Kyran willingly accepted the demon's embrace. He wanted to tear something asunder. Fur sprouted along his arms as he ran toward the attackers. His eyes went red when he reached their building. The building was easy to scale for him with the increased strength of this wolf form. The first plant creature was tossed over the side of the building. As it shrieked, Kyran realized there were a few more enemies than he'd originally thought. Yet instead of thinking through it rationally, Kyran grinned with sharpened teeth. He was amidst them in an instant. His feet, his fists, his body was a blur flashing through the nine plant creatures. One's head popped off in his fist spraying him with sap. Another's spine crunched between his teeth. Two were beaten to pulp. The other five rallied then. Three stood to block his way while the others prepared to attack him from afar. A chilling laugh spilled forth from Kyran's lips. Spreading his fingers, each cut from his relentless attacks, Kyran unleashed his Blood Thorns. The red projectiles pierced the plant creatures' heads and they crumpled to the ground as one.

His chest was heaving. Ahriman was sated by the sear brutality of their attack. Kyran took a moment to center himself. He needed to be in control. Especially with Gaia nearby. He did not want to risk hurting her in any way. Kyran moved to the edge of the rooftop to look down into the courtyard. Gaia could be seen from here and he couldn't stop the strange pride blossoming in his chest. Calamity was unlimbered from his back. Time to put this thing to use. He called upon the power within the bow, creating a black energy arrow when he pulled back on the drawstring. Looking about the courtyard, he spotted a woman that seemed way too happy despite the crisis. It was toward that woman that Kyran aimed his arrow. When the arrow hit the ground three shadowy figures sprouted around the woman. Grab a hold of her and do not let her move. Kyran commanded his shades telepathically. They moved to apprehend the woman. "Gaia!" Kyran called down to his fellow mage. He got distracted by her physique and Noya running away. He had a feeling he knew where the ferret was headed. "Noya is headed toward a woman I think is responsible for all this. I have shades holding her but I'm not sure how powerful she is. Go get her. I'll support you from up here!" He didn't add 'be careful' though he really wanted to. Gaia was a capable woman. She didn't need him to tell her to be careful.

"I'm glad I'm one of your friends, I honestly never had too many friends long growing up. I moved around when I was little. I only had one... but he's gone unfortunately." She frowns at that, remembering her friend she had to help rid of with Masha a while back. She quickly shakes her head and smiles softly to him. That was in the past now. She had nodded and agreeing with Kyran that it had been a drastic change from the more famed series books, but she liked it all the same. "That's good that you wanted to keep him focused, maybe you can do the same for me if I ever get my pipe dream up off the ground." She laughs softly, joking just a bit.

Gaia barely turned her head to hear Kyran clearly when he spoke into her ear. Her eyes grew wide as she glances to him as her cheeks turned bright red from his voice. His words confused her a bit. Didn't he just called her his friend, but now he was telling her he liked her a lot, and apparently physically too. As he moved his hips, Gaia let up a soft moan, along with feeling his lips on her ear, immediately making her cover her mouth to cut off the noises from herself. If he had kissed near her left ear, he's probably would be able to see her guild mark peeking out just behind her hair. When she had spoke next, there had been a little a little bit of a whine in her voice before she had been cut off, making her glad she had been distracted by these plant enemies.

As Kyran had changed, Gaia had been a bit shocked once more. How many different forms did he have? She didn't let her shock deter her from her dancing and fighting though. When Kyran called to her, Gaia had looked up at him before she had gotten hit by one of the flower dancers, in which Gaia was able to quickly counter and slice the top off of really quickly. That was all of those plants right there. Kyran quickly informing Gaia of a woman seeming responsable, Gaia gives him a sharp nod and is quickly running after Noya, keeping her new bladed staff behind her to keep it from being in her way. Noya indeed had gone over to where the woman had been, and grins to herself as she sees the woman sitting about throwing blossoms here and there.

As soon as Gaia was nearby, the woman spies her and grins to her. "You enjoying my blossom party, missy? I saw you canoodling with the redhead a bit ago!" Gaia's face reddened and she gripped the bladed staff in front of her. "I-I wasn't canoodling with him!" She cries out, trying to not pout. She wouldn't have minded actually canoodling with Kyran a bit though... She quickly shakes her head and grits her teeth a bit as she looks at her. "Just give up!" The woman laughs at Gaia before she grips her hand and earth and cherry blossoms started to quickly attack the shades till they disappeared from her. She then grins at Gaia. "So that sugared redhead wasn't your boyfriend? Shame... I bet he's too good for you anyways!" She cackles as she decided to throw a pillar of earth and cherry blossoms at Gaia.

Gaia had a bit of a snarl on her face as she quickly sidestepped the pillars and charged at her. She swung her staff and smacked the girl right in the face just as Noya bit her on the arm, slowing her down quite a bit. Gaia had quickly spun around and kicked the other mage in the face before she spun to point the blade at her. "Excuse me... I think it's you he's too good for! I probably have a higher chance to become his girlfriend anyways!" She then freezes a bit. That was said a bit too loudly. She didn't dare turn her head to see if Kyran was listening to them.

The cherry blossom mage saw how she reacted, and grins as she leans in towards Gaia. "Why don't you ask him out then? What's holding you back...? Are you... chicken?" Gaia let up a yelp and smacks the girl in the head with the broad side of the blade, making her gasp in pain and hold her cheek. "Why did you have to hit me again?! Ugh! I'm done playing around here!" She cries out as she runs off away from where Gaia was. Gaia was left standing there, head hanging as she was feeling like crying, or actually was starting to tear up a bit. She was sure Kyran heard her yelling at the blossom mage a moment ago. She was terrified though. Of what? Quite simple: Rejection. Being played with. Maybe being nothing more than a bed warmer if she did get any further with him. At the same time, she was wishing that wouldn't be the case and she was being stupid with her thoughts. Noya quickly ran up her master and was around her neck cuddling her to comfort her. She even let her breath go on her to heal her from her injury from the plant dancers. Gaia gives a small smile to the creature before she pets her head and takes a deep shaky breath.
