The sun was already well risen in Peace Village, tranquil colors of the early dawn nearly entirely faded from the sky. In spite of the calm name of the settlement? The day was already buzzing as it often did, to someone born in the towns or the big cities, this place would seem sleepy, but to those within the village, it was joyful and full of life. Of course, even somewhere filled with sunshine had some shadows cast over it, Mikka lived as one of these shadows for most of the village. As of a few years earlier when the young girl's mother had died, no one was quite sure how to deal with her at a point it became easier for the majority of the village to begin ignoring her, and so they did. Not a single adult questioned when the girl snuck out of the Foss house and ran through the dirt streets until she reached the forge that her father once ran proudly before her mother died in the house fire. None of the fully grown people really cared anymore, most of them at least.

It wasn't the grown up's Mikka feared getting scolded by anymore, but her only concern should be in school at this time. Astrid playing hooky or being late? Was something the canine-like child could not see happening. "Hehehe!" outside of the building black smoke billowed into the sky a sign someone was working in the forage. Mikka knew how to run the equipment and make things, the female didn't want to go to school the other kids, she didn't like them except for Astrid and Mint when he went, so today she would play in the forge. Honestly? She didn't actually get to do it often, she would never do it when Astrid was not in school, knowing the older girl she would get hurt if she was allowed in the forge while it was active.

YOU'RE THE IDIOT:; Flashback;; Astrid/Mikka Empty Re: YOU'RE THE IDIOT:; Flashback;; Astrid/Mikka

"So this is where you run off to when you don't want to come to school." The voice of the silvernette would interrupt the clashing and clanging of metals, her arms crossed over her chest, staring at the dog-like child with a narrowed blue gaze. It had taken her a while to find Mikka, but it was actually pretty easy to guess once you realized the village's forge didn't really start business for another two hours. The black smoke that poured out of the small building, was enough to give the silvernette a hint. Mikka had a tenancy to skip entire days of school. Astrid didn't know why she did such things, school was important after all. Without school you wouldn't grow smarter. Without getting smarter, you wouldn't be able to find a good job. Without getting a good job, you couldn't earn money. By nor earning money, you couldn't live, at least not comfortable. It may be a hassle to some, but in the bigger picture school was actually pretty good once you got used to it.
Growing tried and concerned over Mikka missing so much school, the young musician had managed to get herself up a little earlier to check out where she was always playing hooky at. The forge? Had not been her first guest. She had actually spent the first few minutes of exiting her house searching the woods. But once she remembered the girl's connection with the place, she could understand why this would be it. But still, it didn't really give her an excuse. She was missing something as important as school, and besides that this was a dangerous place. Even she wasn't allowed here, and she was older than Mikka.
Astrid tugged at the pink straps around her arms, moving the backpack she wore to fit more comfortably around her body.
"Don't you know we're not supposed to be in here? You could get hurt." Her anger would subside for the moment, and instead pure and genuine concern laced her voice. Surely the adults would get angry if they found out they were in here. And if there was one thing Astrid wad terrified of, it was getting told off. She always broke down crying if someone just even lightly scolded her. So if the adults were to find them in here breaking the rules? They could get in serious trouble. And getting in trouble wasn't how she wanted to spend the day. She came here to try and get Mikka to follow her to school, not to get yelled at.

Currently? The not even ten-year-old girl was working on forging a dagger, one project she certainly wanted to keep far away from the Foss family until she was done, as the dagger was not intended to be sold but rather given as a gift. Luckily when that small voice shattered in, Mikka was not working with anything dangerous she was just sketching the placement she wanted for embellishments again while she waited for some things she had made to sell. Most people? Thought that working metal was constant and straightforward, but she was giving the items real care, letting them lay and cool for a few minutes before she hammered so that the material was not so brittle and would not break as easily.

The paper of the clear concise plan for a dagger dropped the floor as Mikka stared at Astrid who was standing just inside the building. Instead of being mad or regarding the girl's concerns as any bit legit towards her? The canine-like being was instantly worried; Her friend was not the most careful, nor the sharpest crayon in the box and still enjoyed eating paste some days! Tiny bare feet rushed forward, moving without trouble as she knew the structure like the back of her hand "You're completely right Astrid!" she rushed the girl, aiming to cause Astrid to stumble back a few steps outside the building due to having to 'catch' her, to get the older girl out of danger. "Just give me a moment, it would be even more dangerous if I left the forge running and the finished blades in the open, just stand right there." the last part of her statement was very stern and clear, both of her hands on Astrid's shoulders as she spoke them with a kind smile.

Mikka was quick, seeming to know the location of everything, putting out the correct fires, and storing the few swords she had made in a tall very sturdy barrel, tying them in with a string so none could fall out. After befriending Astrid? The little girl may have taken some extra steps to Astrid Proof the forage like making tiny foot tall walls around the barrels so no one could knock them over; On the off chance, Astrid ever found herself in the forge. One hand rolled the designs for a dagger like a scroll and tucked the parchment into the pocket on her dress. "Well then, now, I'm off!" when the girl hopped out of the window of the forge and dropped to all fours, it was clear she was getting ready to run for her life, and by her life that meant flee so she couldn't be made to go to school.

YOU'RE THE IDIOT:; Flashback;; Astrid/Mikka Empty Re: YOU'RE THE IDIOT:; Flashback;; Astrid/Mikka

Post by Guest 13th March 2018, 10:02 pm

Astrid watched as the paper the young canine worked on dropped to the floor and finally noticed her. Though, whatever she was working on right now was none of her concern. Astrid's main focus, of course, was getting Mikka out of here and get her to school. What was she expecting her reaction to be? Maybe some arguing, or excuse making. If she wasn't going to school for a reason then the silvernette had no reason to believe she would follow her quietly. She was fully prepared for anything, to do absolutely anything in order to get her friend to go to school. What she was prepared for? Was for Mikka to actually agree with her. To much of her surprise, this is what the younger girl did. When she told Astrid that she was right, blue eyes blinked widely in surprise. She... Actually agreed with her? Well... That was easier than she expected. Maybe she had misjudged Mikka. Perhaps all she needed was an extra push.
About to attempt to question why the girl didn't just normally come to school in the first place then when she apparently didn't have any problem with it Astrid was caught off guard when Mikka suddenly rushed her. Her balance became uneven as she was pushed outside by the girl's force, almost falling backwards to the ground if she had not caught her shoulders just in time. Confused, she watched the girl's eyes carefully as she explain that she was going to put stuff away in order to keep things safe. Ah, yes. She supposed that would be wise. The workers would be here soon enough to start their day, and they were sure to be angered if they found anything out of place. Plus, you know, leaving fires on and sharp blades out were rather dangerous. Though, Astrid had no idea Mikka's main concern was actually her... If she did? Well, she might have pouted and told her she wasn't that clumsy, when in actuality she kind of was. She was the girl that could probably find a way to cut herself with foam.
Once released Astrid managed to regain her balance to stand up straight. She nodded, as if she completely understood the process of which the forge went and what it took to make everything super safe. "That's a good idea. I'll wait for you to finish then. But hurry up, we don't want to be late." She called after the girl, watching her walked back inside of the smokey forge. Being late was bad way to leave an impression on a teacher. Plus, it was bad to miss classes, even if they weren't too late. it was always awkward to enter a class in the middle of of a teacher lecturing. It made too much noise, and the you made to worry about disrupting the class and how the teacher was getting annoyed and you trying to find your seat and looking through your stuff to get ready... It just wasn't something she wanted to deal with. It would look bad both of her own and Mikka's reports... She hadn't seen Mikka's, but it was probably very bad seeing how much she missed. As for Astrid? She barely missed a day of school besides the few times she has to have check ups due to her family's condition or the few times she got extremely sick. She had never been late before, however. And she would like to keep it that way.
Unsure of how long it would take for Mikka to clean up, Astrid walked towards the brick wall of the building not too far from an open window, and leaned against it, awaiting for her friend to be finished.
Staring out into the sky and losing herself within her thoughts, Astrid hadn't even noticed the lack of noise coming from the building until a few minutes later, when the figure of Mikka jumped from out of the window and landed beside her on all fours. The musician flinched back when she felt the figure land, looking her over with a questioned look. It took a couple of seconds to click, but judging by her stance and the words she had for some reason said aloud before she exited, Mikka was attempting to run away.
Huh... So she had tricked her... Okay...
Without hesitation, the older girl reached over and grabbed onto the edge of Mikka's ear with her strange and inhuman strength, beginning to pull her along with force. Even if the dog girl struggled, she would find Astrid's grip was too strong to even try and budge from without taking her whole ear off.
"Off to school~!" She would sing happily with a cheerful expression, despite the aura around her body seeming kind of dark and angry over the girl's lies.

Post by Jiyu Kazehime 13th March 2018, 10:44 pm

Mikka was very good at running the swiftest of the village children by far and she had more stamina as well, of course, she had no idea this was because certain traits of her body weren't human, as externally except for the fact her nails were more of claws and she had fangs, she looked completely human. The young girl was convinced she had confused Astrid enough to give her that split second she needed to run off, but she had not expected the older girl to be standing outside that window the smoke from the forge clogging her normally rather unusually sensitive nose. An iron grip closed around her small ear and within moments the girl realized she was trapped with no escape, the puppy like child was no stranger to the older girls strength considering she spent many days in the same house.

Mikka whined and put up arguments as they walked through the village at a swift pace keeping the same speed as Astrid so that her ear would not be torn off by mistake. No matter what she said to the girl? The younger party knew she was trapped into the school day at this point, there was no excuse that the block chewer would accept, and the teacher's would watch her like hawks once she was dragged into the building. "Geeze Strid, te other kids will pick on me again, look at how dirty I am!" Mikka was actually very intelligent for their age group, but she was not the classiest of girls nor did she always care to speak properly since she knew that she was capable of doing it anyways. Though, the once excellent student had actually started getting into fights sometimes when she did attend school ever since befriending Astrid, even almost biting another student. In the eyes of her friend she likely seemed to enjoy randomly attacking their peers, but the truth was every fight she started was because someone snickered when Astrid was having trouble or did something weird, and she got pissed at them over it.

"We're here, we're here!" one eye was shut as she started slowing down causing pain in her ear, to see if she could get Astrid to let go of her ear now. "Can I have my ear back?" the little girl eventually did get her ear back somewhere along the way and they ended up in the classroom not attached at her ear. Mikka instantly regretted not being able to run away, the teacher's expression was clearly shocked she was attending, and a few of the other kids already had that stupid 'what are we supposed to treat her like' expression on their faces each earning a sharp glare from her own mismatched gaze. "Let's sit down 'Strid!" with that comment she would grab the older girls arm and drag her to the front row knowing how Astrid liked to be attentive and smart, slouching down into her own desk.

For the moment since class had not even started since the teacher was staring at her, Mikka took out the paper she had her dagger plans on and started sketching with some random chalk once more.

Post by Guest 21st March 2018, 11:21 am

With a more than firm grip the young light mage continued to pull Mikka in the direction of the school, seemingly ignoring her whines and complaints. Getting made fun of? That's what she was afraid of? If she didn't go to school and earn an education she was going to get made fun of for more than her looks. Learning was an essential part of life. Sure, the canine was smart, in a lot of ways. Even smarter than her. But if she didn't nurture and grow her intelligence, then it was just going to go to waste. Plus she was always either alone or with her and Lulu. She needed to get out more and meet a lot of people. Sure, their school had their cliques, and Astrid herself didn't mix with a lot of the people there either because they didn't want her to or she stayed away because they had bullied her in the past. But well, at least she was trying. All those bullies, just didn't quite understand her yet. And she was determined to become their friend in one way or another. Granted, she had not succeeded in any way yet... But it was a work in progress goal. The goal she was more focused on right now, was Mikka. Despite facing forward this entire time in order to try and ignore the girl's whines, Astrid couldn't help but look back at her for a moment. "If you're so worried about how you look then maybe hiding in the forge wasn't a good idea. But, we can go into the girl's bathroom during lunch and clean you up a bit if you want." There was no way they would be able to do it before school. They were already going to barely make it in before the bell rung as is, and the next break that would allow then enough time to do something about it would be lunch. So if it really bugged Mikka that much, she could wait a little while and then they would clean her up with some water.

The silvernette led them into the school, still pulling the canine by the ear just in case she got any smart ideas. But much to her surprise, Mikka seemed to calm down a little while in. They even managed to get to the small schooling building before the bell rang, which to the child was a miracle. She had given herself lots of extra time in case Mikka decided to try and argue her way out of things. So at least, she wouldn't have to worry about them being late.
When they entered their classroom, it was easy to notice the other students and even the teacher herself was rather surprised, probably to see Mikka. They all stared at them both. But Astrid was so determined still on actually sitting Mikka down into a chair that she didn't even really take notice. But seeing as they were here now, it was safe to say she actually got Mikka to step foot into the building.
After asking for her ear to be let go of, Astrid obliged and did just that, before she was pulled to the front of the class by the blue haired girl and seated next to her. Which, was actually just Astrid's normal seat. Being hard of hearing and all, she usually had to be seated in the front otherwise she wouldn't be able to hear anything. Even while wearing hearing aids, they only helped her hearing so much. Anyone who stood more than a couple feet away from her? Was extremely washed out. And with her already low attentive level, it was an equation for disaster. So the teacher had  given her one of the front desks not because she wanted to learn, but because she had to if she wanted to learn at all.
The bell rang soon after, and the other students scattered around the room quickly found their own seats. Sitting down at the desk Astrid, unlike Mikka, did her best to pay attention. Which was why, when the silvernette turned to look to see how her friend was enjoying the lesson so far, was rather disappointing when she saw she was drawing instead of paying attention. Her soft smile turned into a pout. The girl let out a cough, hoping to get the dog's attention enough to tell her to put it away. Then came another cough when it didn't work, and then after that a harder one.

"Excuse me Miss Foss, do you need to go to the nurse for that bad cough of your's?" The teacher, who had been writing on the chalk board halted her lesson to confront the girl who looked like she was having a coughing fit to anyone else, her arms crossed and foot tapping with annoyance.
Big blue eyes looked up to the older woman, before she shrunk down into her seat and shook her head.
"If you could be a bit more quiet then, it would be appreciated."
With the teacher turning back to the board Astrid could hear a few laughs coming from behind her. Her heart sunk a little, being someone who took any kind of scolding, big or small, completely to heart. She hated getting in trouble, it tore her apart. So for now she gave up on trying to get Mikka to pay attention, and instead focused on trying to pay attention, even if at this point it was getting harder to do so as her want to cry over the small scolding grew.

YOU'RE THE IDIOT:; Flashback;; Astrid/Mikka Empty Re: YOU'RE THE IDIOT:; Flashback;; Astrid/Mikka

Post by Jiyu Kazehime 3rd April 2018, 10:42 pm

Honestly, getting made fun of was actually far from the fear she actually held, she expressed that as her fear but truth be told she simply hated to going to school because no one seemed to know how they should behave around her anymore. Plus? Most of their peers considered her a lair thanks to their parents saying it after hearing her shout about how someone had been at her house before the fire, how someone had killed her mother. Everyone in Peace Village would rather believe she was crazy, a lair, or some sort of troublemaker then accept someone had been murdered within the village. 'Nothing bad ever happens here' but didn't they see how bad things happened all the time, heck Astrid and Lu-Lu were treated like black sheep, and yet the adults insisted everything was roses and daisies. Mikka hated it.

"I wasn't hiding." she scoffed the comment out, casting her gaze somewhere to the side happy that at the least Astrid was not as fast as she was strong. "I was restocking it, the drunk hasn't stoked the fires for weeks now, it'll go under if someone doesn't do something, Lacie and the babies won't have any income, and I'm one of the few in the village who knows how to use the forge." she was pouting as she admitted that truth to Astrid. Of course, the older girl was no stranger to the fact the normal master of the forge spent most of his days down a bottle, considering that Mikka almost lived with her family due to how often he accidentally locked Mikka out when drunk. Even if her family didn't believe her, even if she was taken care of by Astrid's family at this point, Mikka still cared about her half-sisters.

Class was not enjoyable for the young girl anymore, learning had lost its luster for a while now the memory of being taught to read or taught other things one started on before even entered school, would always come to her head and it just hurt way too much. However, she did notice Astrid's coughing, but since she was not concerned with the class at all she thought the cough's real. As time went on and the coughs got harder? The white-clad female was about to ask to take her friend to the nurse. Astrid refused the teachers offer. Mikka figured she wanted to finish her notes so she starting wrapping her sketch up again. If she offered to take the light haired girls notes? Then maybe she would go get that cough checked!

Of course, everything went haywire seconds afterwards when the laughing rose.

When someone combined the protective instincts of a canine with the protective instincts of an older sibling? It never went well for anyone who made fun of those who fell under that person's protection.  The sound of a growling dog came before an incredibly upset shout "YOU THINK HER POTENTIALLY BEING SICK IS FUNNY? HUH? HUH?!" it had taken less than the blink of an eye, Mikka had one of their peers by the front of their shirt the material slightly torn by her claws, her hair stood as if the fur on an animal, eyes livid and her lips pulled back in a snarl much like a dog. "WHAT IF IT WAS YOUR SIBLING HUH? PUNK! DON'T YOU FUCKING LAUGH AT HER EVER AGAIN!" she tossed the kid a few feet back, the rumbling in her chest clear for their peers to hear, the other kids 'whispering' to each other. "Who did it?" there were whispers running "Why did anyone think it was a good idea to laugh at Astrid while Mikka's here?!" to her own credit Mikka had never actually beat up another kid. The whole reason for the fear? Was the fact many of those kids had once been friends of hers. Astrid didn't know her own strength so ti made her a freak, Mikka knew her strengths and it made her terrifying for the other kids when she wasn't on their side. Some of those kids had watched her when mother had taught her to hunt, they knew she could be dangerous if someone really pushed her. "Astrid, I really think we should take you to the nurse." it was a young blonde girl seemingly a few years younger her brown eyes large. "Go with her Astrid, make sure you're alright, I'll take the notes for you." forgetting the kid she had thrown Mikka rushed over to pet the back of Astrid's neck softly, too short to even dream of reach the top of her friends head.

With that comment, the younger kid tried to take Astrids hand to take her to the nurse and the eldest foss child's goal of getting Mikka to take notes was also accomplished.
