- Job Title: The Shrouded Stalker
Rank: D
Player Requirements: 500 Word Requirement. Must have completed The Unusual Weed first.
Job Requirements: Return to the Herbalist and hear what she has to say, as well as deal with the stalker.
Job Location: Beanstalk Village
Job Description: You have received a letter from the Herbalist, stating that she needs you to come immediately as she has done some research, and needs a wizard’s opinion on the matter. On the way to Beanstalk village you may or may not notice a figure cloaked in black, following you in the shadows. If you choose to assault him he will flee. If you catch up to him, he will defend himself. If you leave him be he will continue to follow you unseen. Along the way, you also notice one or two of those weeds you helped the herbalist collect not too long ago.
Once you reach the village the herbalist leads you into her home and begins to explain the plant. She tells you that it grows it's roots through literally anything, breaking down the physical material in order to spread. Once it has spread a good deal, it's roots sprout to the surface and begin to form into a new plant. While she explains this, the stalker will be listening through the walls. You must either kill, or arrest the stalker before this job can be completed. In the end, she decides to send this information to a friend of hers who is a scientist and a wizard, in order to get more information.
After killing or arresting him, you can check him for anything he has on him. If you do, you will discover a used match, and a silver coin with a skull on one side, and a hand on the other. Upon hearing about the stalker and your killing him, Herbalist will give you the jewel
Enemies:
Weak: The cloaked stalker carries no weapon and attempts to take you down with hand to hand combat. With each successful hit, he deals up to half your rank in damage. It takes three rank D hits to kill him.
Normal: The cloaked stalker wields a deadly dagger and appears to be proficiently skilled with the weapon, dealing up to your rank in damage. To kill him requires five rank D hits to kill him. Note that he is rather agile and evasive.
Strong: The cloaked stalker wields a black rapier designed to kill and is very fast, agile, evasive and precise with his blows. He can deal up to x2 of your rank in damage with each strike. It takes seven rank D attacks to kill him, if you can land a hit on him at all that is.
Reward: 1,000 Jewel

A few weeks had passed since completing the insanely difficult mission of destroying dangerous plants around Beanstalk Village and collecting a single sample for the client that had posted the job. For some reason though, the herbalist had contacted Aliarey once again to let her know about some research that had been done. "The hell?" The requip mage stated as she held the letter she had been given and read it. "Why would this broad think I would have a good opinion on plant research? Do I look like a scientist?" She had half a mind to crumble the piece of paper into a ball and toss it into the nearest trash can. Usually unless research involved a new type of weapon for her to make a mess with she wasn't interested. Buuuttt. Well, it wasn't as if she had anything better to do at that point. Checking it out was at least something to occupy her time with. Maybe she'd even find something interesting along the way. A shame that "something interesting" was more of a problem than a discount in some weapons shop.
Aliarey had made most of the way to the village rather smoothly and with little interruption. However, as she was walking along the path that led directly into the village itself her survival alarms started going off. She felt as if she was being watched, and it was not a feeling she enjoyed. Pretending to not notice, she kept walking as she had been, only slowing her steps and trying to get a feel for where the mysterious stalker was. In the end, she couldn't pin point the location at all. It was as if the one following her was blending into the shadows in a more magical way. Being crazy and imagining things she knew was not the case, so since she couldn't find the target she went with the alternative: going overboard and just attacking in every direction. Gatling Turrent on one side, Air turret on the other, and then a pistol aimed at the other two to cover the entire circle around her. Magic projectiles flew from the two turrets while she was ready to pull the trigger of her guns if anything suspicious appeared. The attacks came to an end within a few seconds, and, as far as she could tell, whatever was following her had vanished. There were no cries of pain so she doubted whoever or whatever it was had died. Still, she was not at all comfortable.
Moving along, she had made it back to the village and the home of the herbalist. As a precaution, she set out her cloaked security turret just in case the mysterious fan appeared again. The herbalist goes on some long boring research lecture regarding the plants, of which Aliarey informed her she saw some along the way to the village. The things were apparently spreading. Thankfully, just before she passed out from boredom and fell out of her chair at listening to information she could care less about, she heard her security turret go off. The shots were firing and that time she was sure she heard someone cry out. Honestly she probably should have asked if the herbalist was expecting any company before setting it, but those were minor details. It wasn't going to kill anyone on its more safety setting.
Aliarey instantly left her seat and went to check things out. Upon slamming the door open, she felt and heard it hit someone on the other side of it. Most likely had been waiting for someone to leave and had not expected the door to actually slam rather than be gently opened. Blinking, the gun mage peered around the door to now see an unconscious cloaked figure. Suspicious! The best thing to do was check his pockets! What? It wasn't as if he was going to need it the moment she turned him in. She would be left disappointed. A used match and some sort of silver coin that probably had some significance, but to her meant absolutely nothing other than to play a game of heads or tails. From there, the stalker would be turned in to authorities, and the herbalist mentioned sending the research to a friend of hers who is a scientist AND a wizard. "Well what the hell did you need me for?!" At the very least she got some jewels out of it.
