Oras had to leave Amora alone for a little while, and so he gave her several commands, rules and guidelines she had to follow.  The first rule was to only visit the town of Magnolia for a few reasons.  One of the main ones to visit the Library.  In fact he had suggested that every day after she finished her morning training to head into the Library and learn as much as she could, and then return to camp and train till nightfall before turning in for the day.  The second rule was, as always, never to trust anyone.  Getting to know them was fine as knowledge was never a bad thing.  There was a difference between knowing someone, and trusting someone.  Trusting someone meant you were opening yourself up to betrayal, and there were many out there who hid behind a false and seemingly friendly facade.  These men could fool her into things she didn't want to do or go.  The third rule was to keep training, and along with this rule he had given her a list of exercises, both for strengthening her body and for prepping her body for combat.  These exercises for combat would seem pointless or stupid, but it would sharpen her whether she'd realize it or not.  One of these practices was slapping a bowl of water continuously.

The reason he had left was because one of the guard's he had spoken to at Beanstalk Village had finally sent word to him.  Word that he was right:  Someone cloaked was said to be moving to Beanstalk Village.  Oras had predicted that someone would come by, so he intended to catch this person and, assuming they were here for the imprisoned cultist, catch and interrogate him for information.  Perhaps they could gain a lead as to where to head next.  He was currently thinking about how they should find and catch this cloaked individual when he arrived at the village.  The village itself was covered in the weeds and taint, but it wasn't as bad as the forest itself.  The villagers had moved into tents on the edge of the village, so as not to be effected by the taint, at least until the situation was corrected.  The weeds didn't seem to be breaking apart the structures of the village, only spreading across them, so if they could remove the obelisk, then removing the weeds should cause little to no damage.  Certainly no permanent damage.

While the village might have been moved, the prison was still stationary since it wasn't overgrown with the infestation. There were a few weeds but that was it, nothing more. Because of this, as Oras was able to observe, there were still guard's making their rounds or standing guard around the prison, and most likely inside as well. Pretty soon they wouldn't need guards watching the prison as there would be no one to guard. Oras had a feeling that this cloaked individual wasn't coming here for idle chit chat, nor to pick them up. One thing most cults tended to have in common: If you fell behind, you were killed to keep loose ends tied. It was gruesome, but an effective way to keep any vital information from leaking out by accident. Now however they needed to use him as bait to keep the other cultist from escaping after assassinating him. He had a general idea of what he wanted to do, but he needed to know how many guard's there were and what the situation was. Therefore the first step was to talk with the captain and see what they had to work with. As he was heading towards the prison, he heard someone call out his name and turned to look. It was Amaline, the scientist who had sent him the message that started all of this. What had begun as the simple removal of a unique plant had turned into something far worse and more massive than she was able to handle in a lifetime. More than likely he was permanently embedded into her memory for what he's done to aid them, though since he was a nomad, and this place had little to no value other than the plague sweeping across it right now, he doubted he'd be here more than only a few times.

"Verus! Hey how are you doing?" Oras kept walking, forcing her to move alongside him and nodded. "Greetings Amaline. I'm alive, that's what matters." Amaline nodded with a slight smile, seeming to have forgotten what talking with him was like. "The village has had to move away from our homes until the infection is taken care of.. If it can be taken care of. We haven't had any more attacks from animals though. Everything's just... Dead now. So very silent it scares most of us. But we are grateful it won't spread further than it has now. We don't have to completely abandon our homes because of this. But uhhh, may I ask what you're doing here? I'm glad that you-" "One of the guard's sent a message informing me that there is a cultist that was spotted nearby this village. I'm here to find, capture, and interrogate said person." Amaline was silent for a minute as she was now recalling how blunt and straightforward he was. "A-ah, I see.. So you're headed there right now correct?" He let silence answer her question. She stopped walking and fell behind voluntarily. "Alright! I'll just, let you be then!"

Oras, as per usual, wasn't trying to be rude to Amaline, but he was attempting to be focused.  Idle chitchatting wasn't going to help with that, nor would it help him with the mission ahead.  While the information regarding no animal attack was news to him, it was also useless information.  There were no more animals or living things in the forest anymore to be corrupted and used by this, taint.  If they removed the obelisk, and thereby the source of the taint, perhaps wildlife would slowly migrate back into the forest and life would return to normal.  If that did ever happen he should probably bring Amora back to see it, in order to present to her more evidence that not only did the world consistently change no matter your attempts, but that it was possible to restore, and even improve the old despite the tragedies.  People like Amora couldn't push on without hope.  Even Oras had hope.  Hope that he'd have a true friend, maybe even a family if he was lucky enough.  And luck was basically another way of saying chance.  You could accomplish things with your skill and power, intelligence and wisdom.  But in the end all of the results could be drastically varied by the ever changing world around them.

Soon enough he reached the place where they were keeping the prisoner tied up.  The guard saw Oras approaching and nodded, gesturing for him to come inside.  No words were exchanged just yet as there was no need to.  They knew why Oras was here and they both wanted to finish this soon.  When they entered however, they were both shocked to see the scene in front of them:  The man was sitting tied up, but he was dead.  His throat slit.  "What the hell is going on here?!  How did this happen?!"  Oras didn't answer, but instead shot forward, moving through the opening in the tent that was made with the same knife.  He began to run through the forest, using his illusions to keep track of the path the cultist made when he ran.  Surprisingly, Oras saw the young guard whom he spoke with the last time around.  And he was catching up with Oras.  Granted he wasn't going his fastest, but if he did he would miss something in his environment.  It seemed he wanted to help Oras out.

Oras scanned his surroundings, using his illusions to spread that sight a very great deal, using the image of birds rather than copies of himself.  As he ran he noticed a pattern in the man's movements and was able to predict where the individual was heading.  One of the illusions shifted into Oras' form as it landed beside the guard and kept running.  "North East East is where he's headed.  He's attempting to throw us off, head there and cut him off."  The guard nodded, not willing to argue as he took the wizard's word as truth.  Why wouldn't he lie?  After all the man had far more experience than him and he was used to taking orders regardless.  The guard altered his course and tried to head into the forest, taking a route that had the least obstacles and thus the least noise.  Oras was impressed with the steps this guard was taking.  Very impressed indeed.  He then returned to his own work and began chasing the man, turning his illusion back into bird form.  The cloaked individual tried multiple times to throw him off, and while he failed every time Oras wanted to make it seem like he was.  Mainly because it would encourage him to head to his destination.  Eventually the plan worked, he altered the reflection of light to make it seem like he fell behind when really he was close behind him.  the man altered his course slightly, heading north east east as he suspected.  And that's where the guard was waiting for him.

When the cloaked man saw the guard he tried to leap over him, only to find one of Oras' illusions jumping over the guard to stop him.  The man stopped when he noticed he was surrounded by Oras and his illusions.  The man then drew two knives and went on the offensive.  He targeted the original Oras first who drew his own twin daggers and they began a very fast and deadly melee battle.  His illusions were sent in to either attack, defend or distract the man.  He was very skilled however, using parries and deflects to attempt and use the illusion's to his advantage, though their weapons passed right through Oras and each other.  He was also very agile, twisting his body to avoid blows, leaping into the air to avoid a collective hit.  However it wasn't long before the sheer number of expert fighting illusions and the original outsmarted him and pinned him to a large tree with his daggers.  Oras backed off, breathing normally as he'd trained for worse fights than this.
     "And that's that."

When Oras backed up from the cloaked individual who could not move anymore thanks to the daggers keeping him fixed in place, he heard the guard move towards them and turned to look at him.  The man seemed very impressed.  "Well sir, that was impressive.  How you were able to determine where he was going despite his attempt to throw you off, and that battle just now?"  Oras simply stared at him.  "Flattery gets you nowhere, and neither does-"  The guard waved his hand with a chuckle.  "I know I know, I'm not trying to use that as a way to get you to like me.  It's more like I'm saying it out loud as a reminder that I want to be that good myself.  To be able to help my village as well as you can."  Oras thought about what he had just said and it made sense.  He was using Oras as a checkpoint.  He wanted to reach Oras' skills which were superior to his own abilities.  If he could do that then he would have a better chance of protecting his village and loved ones than he did before.  It was also possible he'd receive a promotion but from what Oras could tell he may end up refusing it.  He nodded before turning to the cloaked individual.  "Now let's see what you can tell us."  Oras began to look through the pockets of his clothing looking for any sort of clues.  While he did the cloaked man cackled.  "I won't tell you shit."  Oras pulled out the very familiar coin.  "You've already told me plenty just by seeing this coin.  You've just replaced one prisoner with another, and pretty soon we'll have a mind reader come to this quaint village and pay you a little visit."

The cloaked man chuckled as if he didn't believe them.  Oras didn't care what he believed, he just kept looking through the cloak.  He soon spotted something on the man's left wrist.  A tattoo it seemed.  A symbol Oras did not recognize.  His eyes turned to the man's own.  "What is this?"  The man spit at Oras' mask and he punched the man in return, knocking him out.  He wasn't any use awake it would seem.  He showed it to the guard.  "This wasn't on our previous captive which means he's either a member of some inner circle or a higher rank in their cult.  Which means they are more organized and sophisticated than we were lead to believe.  He was heading North east east but something tells me that was another throw off...  I want you to take him back to the village and send for a telepathic wizard to aid you with this man.  I'll see if I can find out where he was heading in the first place."
