Official Fairy Tail RP Patches

A few various changes and updates to different rules and systems, including those below:

• Updated activity rules in the CoC and the positions (Includes CoC #7, Rising Stars, Wizard Saints and Gods of Ishgar, Coming Storms, Walords of Fiore, First Generation Slayers, and Golden Key Positions)
  
• Updated Rising Stars, Coming Storms, Warlords and Saints slightly - you can now retain your Rising Star/Coming Storm title up to and including A rank, and must be at least S rank to apply for Warlord/Wizard Saint
  
• Minor clarification to immobilization effects
  
• Clarified that equipment rewards can be gained from free form jobs - Equipment gained this way can NOT be sold back to the armory for jewels, but can be traded among your own accounts or sold to other players
  
• Clarified Multi Target Auxiliary, Supportive, and Defensive spells in regards to the number of people they can target at the same time - The number of targets must now be equal to or lower than the max duration for that rank of spell.
  
• Equipment, namely armors and weapons have been reworked. Armors now function differently in the way they absorb damage (see Equipment Rules) and weapons can no longer absorb damage at all. As such, durability values for weapons have been removed, as have armor damage reduction values, as they are no longer relevant and thus obsolete. Requip equipment benefit for Armors has been reworked accordingly.
  
• An approved weapon or approved magic is also no longer strictly required to go on jobs of B rank or higher, nor required for events. The Job Rules have been edited accordingly.
  
  Note: If you have a weapon or armor in one of your magics and the value is no longer up to date you don't need to immediately reopen your magic and adjust this accordingly. Simply ignore the values for Armor damage reduction or Weapon Durability until you next open your magic for updates naturally.

Unofrtunately, I am forced to be the bearer of some sad news today. Due to inactivity, Rakshasa is officially being disbanded, freeing up a dark guild slot. All members of Rakshasa will be changed to guildless, and if as a result you have more than one guildless character you will be required to move one of these characters into a guild.

Elysium is now an official dark guild, filling the last dark guild spot. With the creation of this new guild, all guild slots are, once again, full.

Until Further Notice the creation of Normal Jobs will be closed to all members.

Job Creation

Hey guys! Just a small, organizational patch! :D

The Team Registration thread has been moved from the Guild board to Registration with the other registration threads.

The Examinations Board has been moved up toward the top, beneath the Jobs board.

The staff team is actively working on rewriting, rebalancing, and restructuring all of our current rulesets to reach a final and definitive ruleset that can stand for a long while before potentially needing large or bigger edits. As part of this goal, new and overhauled rules will be released over the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for patches and official announcements in the FTRP discord, which brings me to the patch notes for this patch:

• The Code of Conduct (CoC) was overhauled and updated almost entirely. Every rule of the CoC has been rewritten. It is highly advisable to re-read the Code of Conduct to be up to date.
  
• A new rule (#10) has been added to reflect the recent struggles the staff team had to face.
  
• General Roleplay guidelines have been added to the CoC, old ones have been updated to fit the new system.
  

The Character Rules and Perks have been updated, reworded, and reworked. Notable changes include the new prestige system and more detailed/thorough explanations and definitions. Please make sure to read these updated rules carefully to ensure you understand them.

The Guild and Faction Rules have been updated, rewritten/reworded, and, in this same action, clarified. Minor balancing changes have been included, but there should be no noticeable impact on how guilds function. The most notable change includes the fact that guilds now automatically close after reaching 25 members.

• As a consequence of the aforementioned change, Errings Rising is now closed until falling under 25 members again.
  

The Equipment Rules have been rewritten, updated, and some things have been rebalanced. Make sure to re-read these rules to stay up to date. Most notable changes include:

• Clearer definition of higher rank equipment (i.e. Unique, Event, and Special Grade Equipment)
  
• Updates on Unknown Summoning Keys, including their own section in the Equipment Rules
  
• Minor rebalancing and adjustments in regards to how weapons and melee damage interact with each other
  

Due to the removal of inactive characters via the recent archiving efforts, Errings Rising is now an open guild again

The Magic and Spell Rules have been rewritten, updated, clarified, and in some cases, altered slightly. Both the Tables and FAQ Section and the Magic and Spell Templates have also been updated to reflect this change accordingly.

It is highly encouraged to re-read the Magic Rules as a lot of wording has changed and a lot of balance has been shifted around in order to ensure you're up to date with them. Lastly, please note that you do not have to immediately unlock and rework your magic to fit the updated rules unless you explicitly need them. Please update and adjust your magic when you next unlock your magic naturally, i.e. for additions, rank-up, etc., to lighten the load of gradings on our staff team. Thank you for your understanding~

The patchnotes explaining the changes in detail can be found below:

• All templates for all spells have been updated at least slightly
  
  
• Tweaked the effect of running out of MP slightly to work better with our current ruleset and be a little more balanced.
  
  
• Clarified and reworked MP consumption for Requips, Summons, and Take-Overs. These spells now no longer cost MP to cast, while their abilities themselves will cost MP to activate and use.
  
  
• Reworked Refined Requips and how they function. Refined Requips are no longer extra signature spells, but rather a modifier that can apply to a given Requip spell much like Grande / Immaculate summons.
  
  
• Clarified Summons Speed and Range. Tweaked Summons to use character speed for their own movement speed rather than spell speed.
  
  
• Clarified how and which buffs affecting a summoner interact with and apply to their summons.
  
  
• Added Transcended Take-Overs to the Take-Over spell type.
  
  
• Clarified that Requips, Summons, and Take-Overs themselves do not count as spells and cannot deal damage, possess durability, or heal outside of associated mechanics that enable such (i.e. Requip/Summon/Take-Over melee damage and abilities)
  
  
• Reworked and buffed the benefit for Slayer magic slightly.
  
  
• Reworked what constitutes a Hybrid Slayer and how the Hybrid Force mechanic functions.
  
  
• Clarified the correlation between spells and effects a little more.
  
  
• Clarified Melee damage as basis for damage calculations in spells and added balancing rules to these kinds of spells.
  
  
• Clarified the different forms a spell can take a little more ("Normal" Spells, "Advanced" Spells, "Signature" Spells, Guild / H++ Spells, and Unison Raids)
  
  
• Made it more clear that Signature Spells are limited to a single effect with the exception of "Auxiliary" category Signature Spells, which can possess a maximum of 2 effects.
  
  
• With the addition of custom H++ spells, clarified the difference between Guild Spells and H++ spells and added descriptions for both kinds of spells.
  
  
• Also made it so that both Guild Spells and H++ spells can be turned into Requips, Summons, and Take-Overs.
  
  
• Made it more clear that when both Offensive and Supportive categories are used within a single spell the max damage must be split between both the spell's damage and healing.
  
  
• Adjusted and buffed Auxiliary Category spells to make them a little more viable.
  
  
• Added "Passives" to spell types. Clearly defined passives as their own distinct spell type and clarified how passive spells and abilities function, summarizing the overarching term "Passives" under this new type.
  
  
• Clarified that AoE spells do not gain an additional base effect if paired with another spell type.
  
  
• Clarified how Defensive Spells interact with effects.
  
  
• Damage types, such as DoT or Piercing, can no longer be affected by counter-effects. Creation and use of counter-effects to any damage type are no longer allowed.
  
  
• Reworked DoT effects and clarified them a little more.
  
  
• Clarified and reworked how negation, redirection, and reflection effects apply to and interact with certain spells or abilities.
  
  

Guild Pets have been reworked. A section about Guild Pets has been added to the Guild and Faction Rules. Additionally, Guild Pet abilities have also been reworked. The updated system can be found in the Guild Shop. Notable Changes include:

• Offensive, Defensive, and Supportive Guild Pets have been removed. Guild Pets now function universally and can incorporate any spell category. Their price has been increased slightly to reflect this. Already bought Guild Pets are obsolete and are now considered to be of this universal type.
  
  
• Point System - Guild Pet abilities can now be bought and allocated using a point system, which, overall, buffs guild pet abilities slightly. Already bought Guild Pets, in light of this change, count as newly acquired Guild Pets in terms of point value.
  
  
• Abilities now scale down to user-rank if higher in rank than their user.
  
  
• Guild Pets can now only be summoned by their respective GM or an Ace of their guild.
  
  
• Guild Pets count as Bond Pets with their user.
  
  
• Guild Pets can use any Guild Spell their user can use.
  

Just a small update, Onyx Moon is now a closed guild until further notice.

Knockback effects have been added to the effect rules and have been clarified. Further, another clarification has also been made concerning the natural effect negation feature offered to mages concerning ranks and how they correlate with effects. The changes can be found in the Effect rules here.

The Job Rules have been updated, reworded, clarified, and almost entirely rewritten. Most notable changes include the rework of the guild scale system and how guild scale word count is calculated as well as the complete removal of job slots.

Members can now be on as many jobs at the same time as they like, but only 6 jobs can be signed up for or handed in at any one time in order to prevent people from overwhelming sign up or ending threads.

Base Character Movement Speed has been increased in order to make it more viable when compared to spells and their speed
