    Ally's of Shadow's Empty Ally's of Shadow's

Post by Oras Auro 2nd October 2017, 12:03 pm

Oras had recently finished a job with the reward of a few jewels and a new species of plant he intended to study. The plant itself was deep purple with three large leaves and seemed to harm any who touched it using bare skin. Oras of course didn't touch it at all, but rather used his illusion to pull it from the ground and place it in his bag. He was traveling from the village and was now growing weary of the journey. He needed to find a place to rest for the night, somewhere he could lock the door and do some research on the plant in solitude. The main reason he was planning to investigate and study the plant was because he disliked knowing nothing about any object or person that was new to him. Could it be used against him? Was it harmful in more ways than one? Did it have magical properties? Did it have properties that could be used in potion making?

At any rate his travels let him to Oak town. The town as most settlements did, had an inn. Oras followed the signs and signals, making his way toward the inn. As always he would be taking his food upstairs with him so that no one would see who he was underneath the mask. He didn't trust anyone no matter who they were. Individuals could gain his trust over time of course, but the chances of this were not that likely. Cheap words, smooth talk, kind gestures, could easily be a false approach in order to gain one's favor rather than be actually genuine. There were ways to tell of course, but even if they were honest, kind and gentle, he wasn't sure if he could trust their skills or reasoning.

He soon reached the Inn and stopped outside the door. There was a rather large crowd outside the inn, which meant that the doors were closed. He listened in on conversations from a distance and heard that the inn was hosting an event of some sorts. He scanned the crowd for someone who seemed to work for the inn and approached them, tapping their shoulder for their attention.
"Will the rooms be available during this event?" The worker nodded but before she could explain he turned and walked away, leaning against a building across the street as he waited for the crowd to enter and disperse.

Charlotte wasn't typically one to be going to a big events of any kind. Especially those that would have a lot of people present from all over the world. Not that she was a solitary person or anything, she simply wasn't used to situations like that. After all, the young white witch lived completely alone for years, only the creations of her own magic to keep her any company at all. And yet, here she was, holding an invitation to a very special event taking place in Oak Town Inn. Under any other circumstance, she would have paid the invitation no mind at all. But this time, there was a slight buzz in her head. A voice. The puppeteer, Seth was speaking to her once more. And they told the young girl that she should go to the place and enjoy herself as much as she possibly could. Considering the fact that Seth never instructed Charlotte things without a purpose that was not clear at the start, it seemed she had very little choice but to actually partake in this event. And so, only few hours later, she could be seen walking to old town of legends and toward one of the biggest buildings present around here.

As always, rattling of chains accompanied her as her small feet carried her forward, her mind occupied with thoughts about what this party could even be. For some reason, the invitation was rather vague, as if to add a mysterious element to the whole ordeal. Or perhaps it was the lack of social and deduction skills on Charlotte's part that made her overlook the obvious. Nervousity was also quickly building itself inside of her as anxiety of not knowing anyone around here took root. At least until a certain moment where the girl's pure white orbs spotted a figure that was, albeit still fully cloaked, quite familiar. Not hesitating anymore, she would run straight to him, sliding on the ground in front of his view and bowing.

    "Mister Verus?"

    Ally's of Shadow's Empty Re: Ally's of Shadow's

Post by Oras Auro 3rd October 2017, 6:45 am

Oras folded his arms across his chest as he thought to himself. This plant was the objective of a quest, yet he had a feeling that this wouldn't be the last of it. Whether or not this plant would prove to be a threat, or necessity was yet to be seen. Oras as always, was leaning more to the threat possibility. He always suspected the worst to occur and nothing less. If something good happened then he could accept it and enjoy it while it lasted. Usually when Oras enjoyed something like this, it was not often relaxing as he always thought about possible dangers and threats. Therefore he usually just used these times to strategize or plan out what his next spells were going to be. His spells were the real reason he was saving up his jewel. There were scrolls that contained knowledge, enough knowledge for him to come up with or devise a new spell. These were found in magic shops however they were quite expensive. So Oras wouldn't bother much with buying foods when he could hunt on the road. He wouldn't bother with luxuries as man could live without. Instead he focused only on the essentials, getting stronger, and collecting jewels. He wouldn't use anything even if he had enough however. He wanted to ensure that he'd have enough for stronger spells and he'd need to come up with which ones he'd need.

Back to the plant however, he wondered what it's role in all of this is. What sort of new plant was it, how did it come into existence, and why did it appear suddenly now of all days? Was it engineered or was it dormant? And if it was the latter then why and how did it awake recently? What was the cause? If it was engineered for what purpose? And who was the mage who created it, for the plant he could tell now that it was definitely radiating magical energy. He couldn't identify what sort of energy until he studied it though. Which was why he wanted this crowd to get moving already. Just as he thought it however, he could hear a pair of doors opening and the crowd began to start cheering or whooping, making their way inside... Albeit slowly. Oras unfolded his arms and was about to move forward when he caught someone running towards him. He reached to grab his dagger but stopped mid way when he recognized her. When Charlotte bowed in front of him his eyes widened behind the mask. Why was she so formal all the time?

"Charlotte?" He replied, using the same tone as she did. What on earth was she doing here? Oras was here because he was traveling and needed a place to stay. She had a home at the guild hall he assumed. Or was she traveling as well? He seriously doubted that. More than likely she had taken a job on the other side of Fiore and needed somewhere to rest before returning home. Of course this was a rather absurd thought as well since she didn't seem the type to take jobs. The greatest question Oras had however was why did she run to him? Was she looking for him? Or was this only a chance meeting?

With the man saying her name in a familiar tone, Charlotte was quickly relieved. In that single moment, all her doubt that maybe she got the wrong person and this could have turned into a very embarrassing mistake were dispelled. Not to mention that right now, she had someone she knew in this place! Not being alone in the sea of people you have never seen or talked to, it was a very comforting thing. Especially for someone as sheepish as this young lass.

"Yes, it's me! I didn't know that Mister Verus was the type of person to attend events like this... oh, or maybe you're the same? Invited but not really told much. And it would be rude not to accept the invitation..."

Trying to ponder and figure out what exactly was happening here, the girl would tilt her head to the side as she brought her right index finger to her lips, her pure white eyes darting from one point of interest on the boy's clothing to another. He was certainly dressed in a very similar way to before, when he came to the Silver Moon Inn. Ah, just now the girl realized what a wonderful coincidence this was.

"Hehe, it's almost like we're fated to meet in every Inn inside of Fiore, isn't it? I wonder if this was planned by Seth as well~"

Placing her palms on her cheeks as she spun in place in excitement could probably tell just about anyone how innocent this girl was. While Verus was worrying himself with possible dangers every second of his life, the young white witch saw all of this as a story from a fairy tale book where she was the heroine exploring all of the world's mysteries and going through the most amazing adventures. It only made sense, as for many years it was those books that created the girl's reality of Earthland, for she was not allowed to even leave her house. But even she was not like this forever. Noticing the crowd almost disappearing inside of the Inn, she would turn back to face the masked gentlemen and smile kindly at him.

    "Shall we go in then?"

    Ally's of Shadow's Empty Re: Ally's of Shadow's

Post by Oras Auro 3rd October 2017, 2:21 pm

The first thing that Oras noticed was that she immediately relaxed and straightened herself. Why did she choose now to relax? Was she worried that he didn't wish to see her again or something? If she did she had no reason to. The last time they spoke it was at the inn, and he was completely and totally neutral to her and her guildmate. At any rate she was relaxed now so there was no need to concern himself in that sense. The moment she called him 'mister Verus' again he had officially determined that she would not be calling him that ever again. And what was with her speaking in third character anyways? He was right here after all. He shook his head when she finished. "I was not invited and I don't partake in these sorts of events. I'm stopping for the night in order to get rest and have some privacy as I research something I've recently collected," he replied simply. "And please just call me Verus."

She believed it to be rude to decline an invitation, however that would depend on those sending it. Oras would refuse offers like that consistently unless he had good reason to go. If they took it as rude that was their issue. They had no right to demand his presence, and he had no wish to go. Case closed. He noticed the girl looking at him up and down, as if sizing him up. He was about to call her out on it when she continued to speak, mentioning how it seemed they were fated to meet in every Inn in Fiore. His head remained stationary but his eyes looked toward the heavens behind his black visor, as if pleading the Gods that it would not be so. Gaining allies was one thing, but fated to run into them consistently without end? He would pass on that offer. Especially if she turned out to be more of a threat or nuisance than she currently seemed. She then however mentioned someone named Seth and he looked back at her, his head still stationary.

"Who is this Seth?" He asked. However her attention seemed to have shifted again as she was staring at the crowd which had nearly finished diminishing and turned to him with a smile, asking if they should go in. Oras was going inside anyways so he pushed off the wall and walked over to the entrance. He knew she was probably not far behind but he didn't really care since they would be separated. He in his room and she in the event. When he reached the doorway there was a woman handing out a pamphlet to him but not Charlotte. "My my! Someone certainly dressed up for the occasion!" She said to him. "And I see you've brought your daughter along!" She was referring to Charlotte of course but he shook his head, handing the pamphlet to Charlotte with his eyes glued to the woman. "We are unrelated and I'm here for a room, not the event." The woman's smile turned nervous. "Ah, about that. All the staff is working for the event currently, so you'll need to wait until afterwards." Oras was silent for a moment before taking another pamphlet and walking inside. It looks like he wouldn't have a choice.
